Release date: Nov 1st, 2017.

Our first goodbye wasn’t our choice.
Our second was…
What do people say about third chances?

I would never forget the moment I met Noah at six years old,
nor would I forget the way I grew into myself next to him; with him.
I didn’t want to forget the way he kissed me for the first time or the way we were two kids pretending it was okay to do adult things.
What I did want to forget was the reason I walked away… and how he had to let me go.
Loving you had a consequence that was too much to bear.
Now I was an empty shell, half of who I was, who I wanted to be…
And I came back home after four long years and this time, I knew you weren’t going to let me go.
I’m afraid… because remembering why I walked away from our love in the first place was the hardest part of all.
But in order for you to understand my relationship with Noah, I have to start from the beginning… Before our love had a price, before they called our love “puppy love”, before I fell from grace…
I was the happiest when I was with him.

Funny how my feet felt like lead the days I left you, Noah… But now that I was back, they only felt like running.

This is a standalone romance that tells Grace and Noah's story starting at age six, but don't let that detour you from reading their story. This is a book meant for adults and deals with mature themes. It's a story about two kids loving each other and proving that maybe when you meet the one, you just know, even if you're a kid.

Such a sweet, amazing book omg.
This book made me cry. I need to find me someone like Noah! *sighs*
This is a beautifully written, and so, so emotional. One that is of a love that never dies and pulls a boy out of a dark life, a love that gives a boy hope and has him strive to prove himself. A love that endured absences and heartache but came out stronger in the end.
I highly recommend it!

Well written touching love story.
YA ist not quite my favorite sub-genre, but this one was mature.

It was deep, sad, raw but nevertheless lovely.

Very likable MCs. Loved the way he loved her, that's why it hurt that he didn't wait for her and lost his virginity to other girl. Ugh! He was only 16. Why to rush? I'm not a prude and they were young, but this kind of love happens only once... I almost dnfed at that point.
I admired that he waited for her for years during she was at college. He kept his promise, respect! She waited too.

The 2nd drama I hated - the death of her mother. Why? Just to have some drama? Ugh! She was such a lovely woman!!! Sorry, but it just came from nowhere. It's always hard to me, when they 'kill' parents. Ugh!

I'm not a right reader for YA and second chances, so don't rely on my opinion.

It was a very good book.
Amazing hero, likable heroine. If not for 2 issues I mentioned, it would have been 4.5 stars.

Clichéd and messy

So I think I hated this book. It was amateurish and contrived. It spent way too much time on the H and h's childhood and the whole thing was riddled with writing mistakes. It desperately needed an editor.
But these reasons aren't what made me hate it.
From the very start all we hear is that they are 'it' for one another. That they are meant to be together. That the H's existence revolves around the h and she is his everything.
At one point, they were separated when Noah was put into foster care. And he always knew that they were supposed to be together and he would find his way back for her and blah, blah, blah.
So why, WHY did he give his virginity to another girl?
This took me right out of the story. Any chance I could become invested was wiped out by this one inexplicable event. Grace waited for this arsehole for 4 years and couldn't fathom being with another guy, but Noah, who supposedly loved her soooo much and was going to marry her, gave that very important first time to. Another. Girl.

Know what his reasoning was? To learn how to do 'it' so that whenever he reunited with the love of his life he could f*ck her properly!
Give me a f*cking break. And then he gets sulky and possessive when he finds out she's dating a guy and acts all smug and cocky when he learns Grace waited for him and is still a virgin!
God, I wanted to kick him in the crotch. He betrayed Grace and their love. His words of devotion meant less than nothing.
Even more messed up was that Grace barely reacted to what he did.
If the boy I loved - who promised he loved me - gave his first time to another girl I would have been gutted. I wouldn't have welcomed him with open arms.

So yeah. That sucked and pretty well ruined the story. It was the opposite of romantic and didn't improve the plot. I didn't believe in their love and just wanted the story to end.

If this writer cares about her credibility she should pull this book and rewrite that part of the story. And ffs take a writing course!

I'm not the only one who thinks it's sexist rubbish that women must remain chaste while men go around sampling the goods.
Oh, but it was to make it BETTER for the woman he truly loved. Aww, how sweet! 🤢🙄.

Are you kidding me with this? What a load of 🐂💩.

HOLY MOLY!!

I just finished proofing this gem and I am in a book coma ---- this book touched me so deeply that I am still reeling from all the emotions I experienced while reading/proofing.

This is one book that I recommend to all readers because within these words is a piece of each of us...I don't care how old or how young you are...this book will embed itself into your heart and soul.

This is definitely going up as one of my all time favorite reads of 2017!

These characters are so easy to connect with and growing up with Noah and Grace will bring back so many memories of our childhood up til our lives now!

I am kind of over the whole heroine pines for hero and saves her virginity when he wont do the same. I cant even remember the last time I read a book where the hero saved himself for the girl he loved. I just dont understand the point of not doing that in a romance book where fantasy can override life for a few pages.

Relive the awkward and beautiful moments of growing up with Noah and Grace. ❤️❤️❤️
***********************
“Can I see yours?” I asked him.
He looked up at me. “You want to?” I nodded and he placed a kiss on the inside of my thigh before raising up.
“It’s kind of scary looking, isn’t it?” I voiced my opinion aloud. He covered his forehead with his palm. “You’re blunt even in this situation, I should have known.” He smiled. “I don’t know whether to be offended or not.”
“It also gives me the tingles when looking at it.” I leaned closer. “Scary tingles, like I’m afraid of it, but I also want to get to know it.”
He covered his mouth this time to stop himself from bursting out into laughter. “I can’t do this.” He threw himself over me and we bounced on the bed together, the springs creaking to our weight. “You’re too cute.”

I was provided this book through NetGalley for my honest review.

3.5 stars - and here's why. The storyline itself is a solid 5. It was beautiful and heartbreaking and heartwarming. It's a tale of true love found early in life, that could do nothing but grow. Our hero, Noah, is the embodiment of love. His feelings for Grace never wavered. He knew what he wanted, and what he was willing to do to deserve her, even so far as letting her go when that is what she needed. This isn't just a second chance romance, it's a third chance romance that that's them through their early years and into their twenties.

So that sounds like it should be a five star favorite, but this was a case of the story outshining the writing. I realize what I read was uncorrected copy, and I can only hope there was lots of editing that happened after the fact. There were so many issues with missed words, run on sentences, bad grammar, etc. It detracted so much from the overall reading experience. I also had some issues with how young these two were when they experienced their sexual awakening, and it made me feel a bit creepy. And do not get me started with how such a young boy/man would even known how to be such a giving and talented lover right out of the gate. I "suppose" it could happen. Young adult is not my favorite genre, because I guess I'm far enough away from that age to have forgotten what it's like to make such silly mistakes...the unnecessary drama and angst...the misunderstandings and assumptions because there is no communication.

All in all - I absolutely loved the storyline. It tugged at my heartstrings and gave me a perfect dose of love and angst and heartache. But the writing itself just needs some work.

.

Fast-paced, angsty and emotionally-charged mature YA.
Nice setting, great secondary characters, strong MCs, perfectly imperfect love story that spans for years with short and long time jumps.

The cutest meet-cute ever!
7 yr old H Noah and 6 yr old h Grace first met when she climbed H's treehouse and immediately claimed it as hers, which led to a cute banter. Poor little boy H was so smitten with the freckled prissy h. 😁
They finally made peace when H agreed to take h to adventures.

In spite of H's awful life, he remained kind, loyal and determined to change his unfortunate life and show every one that he's different from his parents, that he deserve to be with h in his life and in his future.
h's father didn't like H's parents and he caused drama on the MCs relationship. If it wasn't for H, I don't think their love would've survived.

Oh my, I love the epilogue!! 🤧💯❤️

Oh my heart.

This one gutted me, and then put me back together again in the sweetest way. Second chance romances are just my go-to. I love them so much and Fall From Grace was defiantly one of the more beautiful ones I have read to date.

I have to admit, Noah and Grace made me cry, ugly cry to be more exact. Noah’s love for Grace was just so pure and so, so SWEET! I swear, every chapter even when he was a little boy made me swoon. Noah is defiantly book boyfriend material ladies, you will fall hard.

“He became my friend within a day’s time, but the extent of what we become rapidly grew with age, and even though it started out innocent, it couldn’t stay that way.”

At times, I wanted to yell at Grace. She was a frustrating character to say the least but I still loved her. I understood her hurt and her choices, but so many times I just wanted to jump into this book and shake her while saying, “WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!?” or “GO TO HIM!” For real, the frustration was crazy, but it made me so much more invested that way.

If you love romance, you will absolutely love Fall From Grace. These words, the storyline, the characters, everything is just so beautifully written and it will defiantly get to you in the best emotional way.

I’ve never read anything from Michelle Gross before, but if her other books are anything like Fall From Grace then I will defiantly be binge-reading more from her because I can’t get over this one! Defiantly recommend :)

Kind of a spoiler H and h fall in love as kids and H moves away and loses virginity to some other girl and while in this book he only slept with one other girl I’m so tired of the whole “girl saves herself for the one while the guy sticks it in anything with a hole” thing, I’m tired of reading about virgins falling for guys who would never wait for them. if the H isn’t waiting I want the h to become a Samantha Jones! It’s hard to believe this soul mate eternal love bs when a guy can’t do something as simple as wait just as long as the girl, it ruins the love for me. It shows the H didn’t truly loved the h like he says he does. The beginning was super cute but after the first part it was just alright, I thought there’d be more angst. Also kids don’t talk like that and while the grammar wasn’t terrible, it definitely needed editing

This book will have your emotions in overdrive. Wow just wow. Michelle Gross has written a emotional heart warming and heart breaking story that just has you loving the male lead and his determination and drive.

the story is in Grace’s view with Noah having a little bit in the beginning but it is Noah who captures you from the beginning. The love story starts when they are 6 and 7 and spans for 24 years. They meet when Grace moves close to Noah and they become friends in a treehouse. Noah brings her on adventures and meets the one that he wants to build a life for. He fights the odds of his childhood and his parents for her. It is Noah who captures your heart at the beginning and just doesn’t let it go.

Noah’s childhood is one that is filled with pain. His love for his parents is heartwrenching for you see that they are to far gone to do the same. You see how his dad will use him for his own gain and that just is sad. But Noah has Grace and she gives him hope. They have adventures together and get close. Over the years they become best friends and so close it scares Grace’s dad. He doesn’t think Noah will amount to much due to his parents and his upbringing but Noah is determined to show him he is wrong.

We see them be taken from each other at age 13 and watch them go through alot of growing in the four years they were apart. Never did they forget one another. Noah was put in a better life and shown love and thrived though he always remembered Grace. Counting the days until he saw her again. Grace’s mom was rooting for them quietly in the background too.

When they see each other again. the attraction and love is palpable between them. Grace has choices to make and her dad doesn’t make it easy. Noah still isn’t trusted by him. But Noah is still determined to prove him wrong. They grow close again and Noah shows her his love in such beautiful ways. Unfortunately fate rips our amazing couple apart and our hearts go with them. To me how Grace hurt Noah was horrendous. But Noah being the one that takes our heart understands and picks himself up and builds a life without her waiting for the moment she is ready. He is there in the background waiting while she goes to college. He is creating a good life for himself and is surrounded by happiness and loved ones. Grace is off trying to forget and move on. Only she never really does.

Suddenly they are together again in the same town and their worlds collide. Fate has shown them the way to each other’s hearts again. Only Grace does fight it at first and finally does gain the belief in their love and herself. She lets go of the past and her and her dad start to heal. She has the love she was meant to have with Noah was again.

This is a beautifully written, emotionally wrought book. One that is of a love that never dies and pulls a boy out of the darkness his life one. a love that gives a boy hope and has him strive to prove himself. A love that endured absences and heartache but came out stronger in the end.

This story has all the feels- its heartwarming, heartbreaking and so very compelling 2nd chance love story. It's a tale of true love found early in life, that continued to grow as time passed. The hero, Noah, is the face of love. His feelings for Grace never went off course or changed. He knew what he wanted, and what he was willing to do to have Grace’s love, even so far as letting her go when that is what she needed. To be honest, this surpasses 2nd chance; it goes on to 3rd or 4th chance love story. Noah has always loved Grace and he never stopped- in anything when it pertained to her. When Grace was 6 yrs old, she moved to a new place, a new home that had this amazing back yard and an awesome tree house. It’s at the tree house Grace and Noah meet for the first time, and thus began a friendship and a once in a lifetime kind of love. Not to say their love wasn’t tested and in this we get a read that follows them until they are grown. Grace had the good home whereas Noah so didn’t. His family home life was beyond terrible and so he found his peace, his safe place with Grace when he was 7. They were separated from one another at age 13 and spent time apart for over 4 years but when they meet back up, the connection and chemistry is still there. There is angst and drama over who wanted Noah and Grace to be together and the path that Grace took to find her way back to Noah which very much kept me enthralled. I was praying the HEA would be here for Grace and Noah and I have to say the author did a fantastic job of making this a truly remarkable and heartwarming story will all the FEELS. After reading this book, Ms. Gross will be an automatic buy for me. I very much recommend this read.

ARC generously provided via Netgalley I’m exchange for an honest review

I just love theses books. The, I have loved you all my life, we have been friends since kids kind of stories. Fall From Grace did not disappoint!

This was a swear book that made me feel all the feels! All of them. Every. Single. One. I laughed, I cried, my heart broke, and then was put back together again!

Fall From Grace is the story of Grace and Noah.

When Grace was 6 she moved to a new place, a home with an amazing back yard and an even better tree house. It is I’m this tree house Grace and Noah meet for the first time, and thus began a friendship and a once in a lifetime kind of love!

Grace has everything she could want, a loving family, a great home, and Noah. Noah on the other hand has addicts for parents and a scary and hard life. For him, Grace is his refuge, even at the age of 7.

I loved reading about Grace and Noah. Fall takes us from the age of six through adulthood. I love seeing their friendship and Love form and grow. The author did an amazing job of taking us on a journey through their lives, through the ups and downs and all the joy and pain!

Noah is steadfast. I love his love. His determination. His understanding. He is truly amazing!

A great read I recommend whole heartedly!

Grace and Noah first meet when they were six and seven, respectively. She's the new girl in town and he's the wild trailer trash. They quickly become inseparable. As they grew older, they grow closer and closer, and their feelings for each other change. Circumstances intervene, and they are torn apart, not once, but twice. Will these two young lovers ever be truly together?

Grace narrates their story with the wisdom of hindsight, dropping hints here and there of the tragedies to come. Every chapter also starts with a little insight from Noah, giving us his take on the situation. While the story is okay, the poorly worded sentences and abundance of editing errors (e.g., lack of commas, missing words, incorrect word usage, mixture of past and present tenses) make it nearly unreadable.

In addition, both Grace and Noah act way older than their age. As Grace's dad says, "Do they ever act like seven-year-olds?" And, sorry, it just makes me feel icky reading about kids having sexual experiences. At 13 (and even 16 and 17) Noah is a very skilled and generous lover, even though he has never had sex. It's also a bit disconcerting that one of the first times Grace and Noah have actual intercourse, it's a rape fantasy. Then, after they're broken up for a year, they have angry, drunken sex. Not cool. And don't get me started on the lack of communication! Lives are ruined over the numerous misunderstandings. Why can't people just talk to each other? Extremely frustrating.

Warnings: coarse language, underage sex, drug use, sex scenes.

I received this book in return for an honest review.

Full Review at: What's Beyond Forks?

This book was crazy good! My one and only issue lies with Grace as a child. She speaks and thinks way above her age level. I completely get why Noah has grown up fast. He's had too, and with all that he's seen and heard, he has a more adult-like knowledge and view of the world, but Grace? She hasn't, and in many ways she is very naive, like you'd expect from her, but in others ways she was too much of an adult. After she hits about 12 or so, then she seems to be more age appropriate and believable for the most part as she grows up.

From teenagers on, Noah and Grace's story pulled me in for good. I couldn't put it down. They are so intense. Especially, Noah. The boy knows what he wants, and he has depth. So much happens to these two over the years, and their emotions, both good and bad, are infectious. Some major props to the author for pulling out so many feelings from the reader. Fall From Grace is one of those stories where you really feel like your with the characters through it all. Like you're getting to know them, and when they hurt, it hurts you too.

Big thanks to Michelle for an ARC copy for review

I simply love contemporary romance novels. And a romance between two lifelong friends is probably one of my favorites. Not only can Michelle Gross dabble into the paranormal universe, but she crosses over seamlessly into the contemporary writing just as wonderfully.

Noah and Grace’s story is one filled with heartache, uncertainty, lasting friendship and love, and finding happiness. I was smiling from ear to ear by the time I finished reading.

I almost quit on this book, but I ended up being glad I didn’t.

Grace and Noah met when she was six and he was seven years old, Their friendship began in Grace’s backyard tree fort and grew from innocent adventures in the woods into young love and sexual exploration, spurred on by Noah and his far more worldly upbringing.

From the beginning. Grace’s loving caring parents encouraged their friendship, knowing that Noah’s drug addicted parents weren’t giving him the care he needed. But then it becomes apparent their relationship is moving into more serious territory than two young teenagers should be, a tragic incident happens with Noah’s family, and the two are separated.

Four years later, they are reunited and neither’s feeling have lessened. They spend several happy months getting to know each other again. But then another tragic event happens, and this time Grace makes the choice to push Noah away. However, Noah isn’t deterred.

Life without Grace was… planning all the ways to get her back. N.P.

There were several reasons why I almost put this book in my DNF pile. For the first half of the book multiple things didn’t work for me, starting with the odd writing style.

Starting out, there is what seems like a journal entry, signed by N.P. But these entries, supposedly written by Noah, are far too mature sounding to be penned by a seven year old. These “journal entries” are throughout the book and give us a quick glimpse into Noah’s thoughts and feelings - which I was grateful for - but again, the maturity of the writing didn’t match the supposed author, until he was much older.

The rest of the book is told by the heroine of the book, and it’s a strange type of storytelling because you think it’s a recollection, but it sorta seems like she’s telling the story as a six year old. But the conversations she’s having with Noah aren’t really realistic - six and seven year olds don’t talk the way they did. And I just found the writing style...odd. It’s the only way I can describe what I thought of the writing. Add in the fact that this was a very rough draft of the book (even by ARC standards) with a lot of strange formatting and words clumped together, and it was not an easy book to read.

The next thing that made me almost DNF this book was the graphic descriptions of the hero and heroine’s burgeoning sexuality with each other. At the age of 13. Look, I’m not naive. I know it happens that young. But I have teenagers and reading about kids that young was just uncomfortable. It could have been sweet, but with Noah’s advanced knowledge about sex (gleaned from watching porn films and parties where his parents and their friends were all stoned), it just seemed like he and Grace weren’t on equal footing in the exploration of a physical relationship. And again…THEY WERE 13.

But once they got older, and life got complicated for Noah and Grace, and the writing finally seemed to match their ages, this book was really good. Yes, there was lots drama of soap opera proportions, but it made for some quick turning of the Kindle pages. I loved how determined Noah was to get Grace back, in spite of her cutting herself off from him. The book started out rather slow, but at the end didn’t get bogged down during the last four years they were apart. The epilogue was a satisfying look at Noah and Grace’s happily-ever-after. It was a great ending to a story I wasn’t sure I was going to get through, but I’m glad I did.

Fall From Grace was a very sweet, and emotional coming of age story of Grace & Noah's story starting at age 6. And even though it started from such a young age, unfortunately life doesn't always take age into account, so there were mature themes from very early on. But it takes nothing away from the majority of the innocence of this love story. See, Grace & Noah grew up together, and Noah had always planned that he & Grace would be forever, but life took some hits as they grew up. And when they finally did decide on forever, life wasn't done with them yet. This is the first book that I've read by Michelle Gross, and I really enjoyed it quite a bit. The growing up was poignant, and sweet, which had all my feels going like mad. This author has a talented writing style that immersed me from the very first page, and drug out my dramatic emotions as life took shots at them. My one issue, and this is MY OPINION, it just seemed rushed at times. With that being said, I will be reading more by Ms. Gross in the future, and HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

"Back and forth, back and forth, my brain and body decided for me. What a mess my mind was."

This quote just about sums it up. From the very beginning to the very end and beyond, the story is one of push and pull yet at the same time nothing feels more certain.

"Thirteen-year-old Noah stole my first kiss… Seventeen-year-old Noah stole my air to breathe and his right to exist in this world anywhere without me."

*sighs* pretty epic right? A never ending love saga that starts at an early age and keeps growing stronger over time.

Now, don't let that fool you, because the story of Noah and Grace is anything but sunshine and daisies.

She’s not a drug, but she’s the sweetest addiction.

*adds another sigh*

How perfect is this quote? Noah is book boyfriend material gold and the stuff we can only dream of.

Michelle did a great job keeping me engrossed in the story which is not easy to do with a book that spans a couple of years.

Great job and a definite Scandalous stamp of approval!

Noah and Grace .. What a beautiful story!
It was so wonderful and exciting to accompany them becoming friends, falling in love and growing up. It was really beautiful. I fell in love with them. I loved all the stages that they had. And how his love for each other remained firm, faithful, pure and true. I really loved it. I couldn't stop reading, I devoured the book !!! Incredible.

I'm very happy with the ending, I laughed ... I cried ... But most of all, I cheered a lot for Grace and Noah ... I fell in love with this book!

I KNEW I WAS GONNA LIKE THIS ONE !!!

But it was so much more.
I abso-fucking-lutely loved it !
This story is so cute and romantic.
Noah is the sweetest boy ever and the best man you can find.
He was always convinced of him and Grace. He never doubted he and her would be together.
Their were destined to be together and everyone knew it since the day they met at age 6 & 7.
It was truly a beautiful story.

Again this author has me wrapped around her finger with her writing.
The Grim awakening series had me , and now this one too.
Michelle Gross really become one of my favorite writers.

So just 5 stars for everything !

Holy Cow

I just finished this and I know this book is going to be one of my top reads of the year and it's on February!!! I was just that dang good.

Noah and Grace meet as kids and they greow up together. Experiencing most of their first's together. Despite being total opposites, and having their lives turned inside out more than once.

Gah getting to experience their journey to an HEA was hell in the best possible way.

I cried so hard and fell in love with these characters. It was really easy to do cause they are so relatable. And I love how Noah NEVER gives up.

This book is just amazing and I think everyone needs to experience it.

Heart wrenching and devastating, from childhood to adulthood, strength is tested and love is explored. Choices must be made. Will they fail or will they prevail?

Grace and Noah are tested in their strength and devotion to one another. Soulmates from a young age, Grace and Noah grow from children to adults and their journey is not all roses. It’s hard and unyielding, they are faced with challenges and choices, ones they are too young to make. But in the end don’t all good things come to those that wait.

This is a heartfelt and bittersweet read, of strength and faith. Be prepared to have your heartstrings pulled as you enter a world where harsh reality, and blooming love collide.

Excellent emotional, breathtaking, beautiful storyline! This is the first book I've read by this author, but it won't be the last -- I'm interested to see what she comes up with next -- I don't want to ruin it for anyone so I'm not going to give anything away -- just suggest that you give this a chance if you love emotional, heartfelt, soul-searching, intense love stories because this one hits on all those points! A definite recommend for me. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.

This is the first time I have read any of this authors’ work, but it will certainly not be the last! This is Noah and Grace’s story, and what a heartbreaking tale it is. This story is about young love, which is lost, and found again, and spans quite a number of years. This is a beautifully written story, which is heartfelt, emotional, heartbreaking, gritty, and a powerful love story. I highly recommend this authors’ work for all romance lovers, and I cannot wait to read more of her work.

Amazing is an understatement for this book. From the beginning to the end I loved each part. I got all emotions from this book. I cried, I laughed, I got angery and cried some more. The words drew a picture in my head and I could actually see their relationship unfold through my eyes. By far the best romance I have ever read.
