Darkness has never looked so beautiful.

Jaidon Swanson was not the person everyone thought he was. Over half of his face and body has been scarred since he was a young child. Passed around the foster care system, he’d been rejected, belittled, cast aside and bullied for as long he could remember. Just as he began to turn inward to the darkness trying to claim him, his life changed. He met HER and he would never be the same.

Kenya Norris had loved Jaidon from the first moment she stood in front of him as a protective shield. She never cared about his scars and accepted him no matter how he appeared. Leaving him behind to attend college almost broke her. She never forgave herself for keeping her feelings a secret.

Twelve years later, these two star-crossed lovers find each other again. But everything is not as it seems. Kenya has a secret—something she fears would make Jaidon turn away from her. Jaidon has shrouded his own terrible truths behind layers of shadow and lies. Once the truth is out, will it be the swansong of their budding relationship?

**Flawless is not a story for the faint of heart. While this is a contemporary, paranormal story with lots of romance, our Hero is not your typical Prince Charming. Be prepared for the darkness that resides within.**

The characters I write will not be perfect. None of us are. They will make mistakes. All of the hero's will have redeeming qualities, but on the outset, you may not be their biggest fan. My heroine's will be the kind of women you want to hang out with. They're the women next door, down the street and around the corner. They are the ladies you would want to spend time with on a Saturday night drinking a martini.

I have been an avid reader of romance novels since the age of 14 and know what appeals to me as reader. My goal is, and will always be, to provide that same experience for the women and men who read my novellas and short stories.

I’m a former Marine and served for 8 years, so strong military men will always be a favorite topic of mine. I will continue to write stories with military heroes’ front and center. I’m also a fan of Alpha-males and strong women who love with everything they have.

Ridding the world of evil

A young child cast away due to his scarred body is mistreated and ridiculed until age 12, when a loving couple becomes his foster parents. Then comes high school and the unlikely popular girl steps up and stands up for him. Meanwhile, the foster parents adopt him. He's loved by his parents and his friend Kenya, although he's unaware of Kenyas love for him. She goes to college in Texas, he in Pittsburgh. 12 years later, they reunite, but his skin is healed and he's beautiful. Can he trust her with his truth? Can she trust him with hers? A great book.

Where do I begin? This story was soooo not the fairy tale I was told as a child ... THANK GOD!!!

Reana Malori told this tale in a complete new light that had me glued to the pages and I loved every minute of it. The pain and rejection that Jaidon experiences while in foster care breaks my heart until he is placed with the Swansons and they adopt him and give him his permanent home. Meeting Kenya was a gift from heaven. She saw beyond his scars to the amazing young man underneath.

They are separated for a time and then come together again and both have changed. Their love and road to HEA was all that!! Thank you Reana for a wonderful story!!!

I read this one a few years ago when it first came out and had the opportunity to read it again. Reana Malori is always on point with her books. You always get an awesome plot, relatable characters and a flow that takes you from scene to scene where you can image yourself in the book. All of the books in this series are great. I suggest you pick up this one soon, it is an oldie, but a goodie!

This is a short story that follows a familiar trope. Scarred boy becomes a man angry at the world that shunned him. But all it takes to turn his life around is the love of a woman who accepts him as he is, scars and all. It's simplistic and a quick read. But there are a few issues that prevent me from giving it a higher rating. The first, is that the story is uneven due to the pacing. The transitions between major events are clunky. The story has major time jumps that zooms the story along at a lightning pace. Events are rushed through and makes the story simplistic in areas it shouldn't be. We don't get to know the heroine, there's no time to. Feels like a lot of story left untold. The second issue is the ending. Too much too soon, too blah and too bogged down with vulgar sex, that seemed a bit off compared to the rest of the story. The third issue, the price. For such a short, simple read it's overpriced. In my opinion, readers are not getting there money's worth with this one. Still it had potential. Where lately my reads have fallen on the Goldilocks scale as too long, I would rate this as too short and therefore the story falls short.

This was definitely not my childhood fairy tale but I love the dark spin. Jaidon and Kenya have loved each other since they were young but never voiced those feelings. Jaidon because of an accident when he was younger was disfigured and thought no one would want to love him. He stumbles upon a way to change his appearance when he's older and when Kenya and Jaidon are reunited the new Jaidon is not going to let this chance slip by him. I loved these two together and how they were there for each other no matter what with no judgements. The story did have it's dark twist but I totally loved that too.

I loved this book so much!

This is one of the best books I've read this year. I love when authors come up with new concepts, never explored by other writers. This paranormal book was different, but it worked. I hope she does a follow up book or prequel. Would love to hear about his parents and where they came from. There were some parts of the book that felt rushed, but it was still a fantastic book. This is my first book by this author and I will definitely be seeking out other books by her. 👏

This was a very interesting story to read. The basic story premise is nothing like I've ever read. Jaidon and Kenya are the most unlikely pair, but the author makes them work. I do feel that some parts of the story were glossed over and could have been further developed to make the story seem more complete.

Not bad..

Ok..The title of this series is kind of " F'd Up",😆 but I love it! Short read with a slightly rushed feel to it but not too much. Jaedon & Kenya are very likable. Only thing missing for me was not having a clue to what Jaedon is. Otherwise overall it's a good read. Too bad we don't have Jaedons in the real world to clean up our all too real scumbags! 😉😂

Wow😲Welcome to the Dark Side of Reana Malori👀💀

In this 📕, MS Malori sharply deviates from her deliciously sweet , suspense romances & went straight to the dark side😲 with no stops in between! Jaidon had a rough childhood with his only bright spot being his adoptive parents & his childhood friend & protector Kenya. After Kenya left for college, Jaidon was heartbroken, but he developed a special set of PNR gift & curse, which turned him into a stone cold unaliver . Kenya & Jaidon reunited & found a way to deal with their secrets; accept each other & journeyed to their version of HEA. if you're looking for something different , dark, exciting , 🌶🌶🌶🌶❤, go ahead & read this book , you will thank me later😄🍷

But it must be earned!

I really found this fairy tale to be one of those wish upon a star kind of story. You wish that we could dispose of evil so conveniently, as was done here. There is so much bad in the world and that bad seems to be winning more and more. I did not give this a perfect five as so many pieces are missing! I especially have the fear that one day be might not make it home, then what? Would his progeny have to bear this burden? Someone that was just trying to do a good deed, rid the world of evil, might end up being destroyed by that evil! More story is necessary to give us a sense of how he can opt out at some point to have more normal life. But, I really liked his character, how he accepted his calling and grew into the man who handled both parts of his life so well!

I liked the story and technology concept was great

The story was really touching from the beginning, the characters were really likable and your heart went out to Jaidon and his treatment at foster homes he had been to. I liked his adopted parents and when he met Kenya.
I think the story could have had more depth and been longer but on the whole the story was good.

Interesting concept

I thought this story was just okay. The idea is interesting though. I was hoping that Kenya could somehow tie into it...maybe be the cure or something. Despite the interesting premise, I didn't connect with the characters. There were plenty of editing issues. The book flowed okay and it was easy to know who was speaking. There were flashback moments that were clearly labeled. 2.5 stars

Oh my goodness I enjoyed this book so much, I hated for it to end. It was totally different from what I'm used to reading. I did feel like it was more story to tell with the hero and some unanswered questions

Different

This is the first time I've ever read anything from this author and I'm not really sure how I feel about her style. Maybe it's just that it was kinda short story and\or that the story line was different. But I enjoyed it

DARK

This book was dark but in a good way! I loved the characters and the development of the storyline. I know the f'd up fairy tales are suppose to be short, but I really wish I could get more of Jaidon and Kenya. Great read!!!

Not impressed

This story was way too fast, way too many unanswered questions. Too many holes in the story. I didn't fall in love with the characters. They were extremely one-dimensional and flat.

Beauty is only skin deep.

Very good story, while I assumed that Jaidon’s scars were really from a fire, there appears something more going on. Jaidon met is one and only love in Kenya...she saw past his scars.

Beauty and the Beast retelling with Beast being a serial killer and Beauty working for the D.A. Sounds great right? Yea, well... 😒
This book isn't bad, it really isn't, but I just found it boring and not as thrilling as I thought it would be.
It's a short book so it has that going for it.
