"Breathe, Tessa, breathe."

The Royal Wedding is the second book in the Crown Jewels Romance. This series must be read in order so before you read The Royal Wedding make sure you check out The Royal Treatment. In this second book, Arthur and Tessa are back and now that they have fallen in love they are ready to walk down the aisle and spend the rest of their lives together. But not everyone in Avonia wants Tessa and Arthur together and they will do whatever it takes to tear them apart.

description
"I intend to savour every second of the best day of my life."
The Royal Wedding picks up right after The Royal Treatment. Tessa has moved back home with her parents in order to prepare and regroup before "the big day". The physical separation is hard on Tessa and Arthur. After having so much time together, now Arthur is trying to run the kingdom and Tessa is trying to work and prep for the big day. With Arthur's father, the King, an anti-Tessa twitter campaign, and gossip swirling all around, Tessa begins to doubt Arthur and her ability to serve as Queen. With love on the line, Arthur will do whatever it takes to keep Tessa safely by his side.

"Do you know how rare perfect tits are?"
Told in dual POV, The Royal Wedding is an exquisite romantic comedy full of laughter, love, and plenty of steam! I fell head over heels in love with both Tessa and Arthur in The Royal Treatment and getting more of them together only strengthened my adoration for them both. Tessa is such a quirky heroine and her uninhibited antics kept me in stitches AGAIN! The love that Arthur has for her is tender and complex. They are truly from opposite worlds and yet together, they make perfect sense. M.J. Summers has created a heartwarming world with beautiful characters and one epic romance. The dynamics between the characters is full of complexities and as the battle lines are drawn, it doesn't take long to recognize friend from foe. Tessa's meddling family are probably my favorite family of all time. I especially adore Tessa's mother and Arthur's Grandmother and the way in which they enhanced the story warmed my heart and even brought tears to my eyes. Tessa and Arthur endure so much in order to be together and their journey is one that I will never forget.

A cute book. The ending was magical. We did see both of our main characters become quite rude at points during the story and although I didn’t really like it, I see it brought the story full circle. I loved seeing everyone realize the were wrong about a lot of things and become closer and change their attitude. The wedding was perfect

Pretty sure I'm addicted to these book. I don't even know how long it took me to consume this book or the first one - but I have a feeling it really wasn't that long. I think I have a problem.. a reading addiction.. that doesn't have a cure.

Anyways, The Royal Wedding was another great book. I loved everything about it! Tessa and Arthur are so freaking adorable and I just love the shit out of them. It seems at the beginning of this book that everyone is completely against this proposal. A lot of people don't approve of Tessa with Arthur and she eventually gets pulled into so many directions that you have no idea if this wedding is even going to happen.

First off, I didn't like Brooke. She was an evil bitch and I just wanted her gone. No one gets in between my ship and lives. Other than that, again, I loved everything about this book. It's hilarious and a super quick read. I can definitely see myself rereading these two books again and again.

I'm going to miss Tessa and Arthur so much!

The Royal Wedding, A Crown Jewels Romantic Comedy, Melanie Summers and MJ Summers

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre: women's fiction, Romance

Well, much to my surprise I loved book one. I thought I'd like it but that it would be chic-lit fluff, fine for when i want something easy between heavier reads.
It actually had far deeper content than I expected along with some cracking characters and great humour and that's carried across really well into book two.

When I see the words irresistibly funny, laugh out loud, you will love this book, I'm wary, its so often a cover for a story that to me is brash and in-your-face comedy, and I just don't like that. I feel its a bit of a step up telling me I will laugh, find the story funny etc.
I can say I did find both these novels really good with some well placed humour that was perfect within the story arc, that doesn't mean everyone will laugh though....
On that subject, cheese Overload.
It was funny the first couple of times, began to grate (unintended that, honest!!) after the sixth or so, and by the end of book one I was gritting my teeth every time that came up - sadly book two had even more cheese humour, but for me it was something that let the story down, overdone, felt forced :-(

Luckily that's a minor point, and the story moves on quickly from engagement to wedding plans.
Poor Tessa, a foot in two world, her freinds and family feel she's changing, the Royals who don't like her don't feel she can ever change enough to fit in.
She wants to do her best for Arthur, to make him proud, and yet she's been brought up to be independent.
Whatever she does is wrong for someone.
Throw in those who feel she's gone over to the Dark Side, the anti-monarchy crowd, who tear at her for what they see as abandoning her stance, those who feel she's a gold digger v those who feel by keeping her job she's wasting her time and taxpayers money, as she needs a bodyguard there, and of course the Twitter Campaign, from the #Brookeisbest guys.
They are vicious, pull down what she does, whats she wears, what she says - all that get's done by the media too, and the poor girl isn't feeling great. She's really under Trial by Media, with everyone feeling they know whats best, whats wrong, what she should be doing and are telling her loudly via the Press and the Internet.
Its a huge stress on a couple in love. wedding planning is stressful anyway but on the scale of a Royal wedding??

Her friends; I kind of understood how they felt and yet couldn't really see what else she could do. Ditto her parents involvement in the wedding - love how Reuben whips out his cheque book whenever money comes up and Arthur tactfully persuades him they need to share the bills....
I know her mum has dreams of her only daughter's wedding, but really its Tessa and Arthur's wedding, and she's a bit of a steam roller over what Tessa actually wants. ( I'd hate the bridal shower games she has planned too - I was cringing just reading them - do people really do that?)
That taking over, conflict of what bride and groom want v what parents want happens so many times, not just royal weddings but everyday ones, where the day gets high-jacked by proud parents. Sadly in Tessa's case its not just family and freinds who'll see when it goes wrong, but the whole world. No pressure then.

I love the cast, Tessa's brothers and wives, and the kids, Arthur of course, his Gran, wonderful lady, I want to be her when I'm that age. Then there's those who don't like Tessa, the King, Arthur's sister, and Brooke, who seems to be wishing Tessa and Arthur well, offering help sweetly, but we know she's likely only paying lip service and wants Arthur herself. She's been his friend for a long time, and he can't believe she wants to be anything more - men are like that aren't they? Tessa can see through her though, but there's nothing she can do, just try to prove herself a fit bride, future Queen, and sadly her past means she's starting from a long way back.
The wedding planner, Sebastian ( Baz, everything gets shortened or Acronymed (?) as he hasn't time for full words....he was a real star, and I'm sure there are many like him in real life.

It made for a fun read once more, a book I really enjoyed that was light and easy to read but which brought in some serious issues.

Stars: five, a fun finish to the story that had me smiling at times, furious at others and so pleased at the way it finally worked out.

I loved book 1 with a reduculous passion! I received book 2 as an ARC and was so stoked in Septmeber I downloaded it immediately. Then I spent the next 3 weeks dreading ever single page and chapter!! It was still as quirky as book 1 but it felt less realistic and more forced. It was more awkward than adorable. I started to despise all the characters. I loved Arthurs tidbits he gave… and then I just didn’t care about anything else. I don’t think I ended book 2 with the sam amount of love I had for book 1 and I don’t know why. Maybe it was a bit of knowing my happy story was ending ? or maybe it was the book didn’t need a book 2? In book 1 Tessa took no crap from anyone and was unapologetically human and wonderful.. in book 2 she was spineless, emotionally weak and had a forced personality that made me had it. The language in this book is also quite ….. immature I feel the book couldn’t say condom without it being a joke.

…also when did Tessa’s entire family become horrible people that you hate… Nikki is a bitch and the royals were even worse… also Tessa’s mother… SUCKED

I will read this author again but not a spin off of the Arthur Tess romance.

So… I didn’t like this one as much as I did the first one. I believe I will be able to explain why, but that doesn’t mean that I didn’t enjoy it.

I will start by saying that my main problem was with Tessa and Arthur constantly fighting. I know couples fight, it’s only realistic for couples to have a fight once in a while, but these fights were usually due to nonsense. At one point, I realized that the author’s intention was to enlarge the book by keeping the plot on going with these constant fights. And the presence of Brooke? I really didn’t appreciate her being put into the plot just so she could ruin what could have been great moments for the main characters and the plot.

Another thing that bothered me was how the author managed to treat the topic of Tessa and her not eating because she was affected by a comment made on her physical appearance. The author went as far as including the word “anorexic” in terms of describing a body. I did try to overlook it since the book was published three years ago, but I believe this matter should be treated carefully since anorexia is an eating disorder that affect some people.

Apart from that, I don’t think I have much else to say. The plot was a little all over the place in general, but there were some really worthy moments that made me enjoy the book. And that ending? Absolutely beautiful in my opinion!

Melanie Summers knows how to deliver the perfect romantic comedy, full of wit and charm. The Royal Treatment had me completely hooked and I couldn’t wait to read the rest of the trilogy.

In The Royal Wedding the story picks up right where we left off in the previous book with Tessa getting engaged to Prince Arthur. After meeting under unique circumstances, these enemies found love in each other as the whole kingdom was witnessed to it all. They overcame hurdles at the beginning of their relationship, but now they are ready to get married. But a new set of obstacles have decided to come their way once again. This time, Tessa will have to transform from a struggling reporter to an elegant princess if she wants to survive her new royal life. It would be a transition that will leave her questioning if she is meant to be with Arthur or if she needs to go back to her old life. While Tessa is dealing with the public eye, Arthur has taken a lot of responsibilities and he is willing to protect Tessa no matter what. So when a little lie turns his whole life around, he will have to face the consequences and hope that he doesn’t drive Tessa away for good.

I loved the chemistry between the characters, they compliment each other very well. With the new set of obstacles coming their way, the two most decide of what they really want out of their relationship in order to have a future together. It’s evident from the start that Tessa is still struggling to get the public to accept her as their soon-to-be princess and that has taken a toll on her. She wants to be the perfect princess for Arthur, but she is losing herself in the process. If there is anything I loved about Tessa is her tenacity to succeed and not give up. She is a fighter and that is her strength until the very end. On the other hand, Arthur is still dealing with the loss of his mother and he has to find it in himself to move on from his past in order to create a future with the love of his life. As the two try to find their way back to each other once again, we get to meet other characters as well. We see them interact with friends and the rest of their families while I loved. All in all, the story was full of swoon worthy moments to keep you wanting for more. I would highly recommend it and I cannot wait to read the last book in the trilogy. You will not regret it!

I was given this book for my honest review.

This is the 2nd book in the Crown Jewels Romance and what a laugh out loud book it is.
The author creates such a smarty character in Tessa that one thinks it's just not just the East Coast girls that have a mind of their own, but a mouth in their mind to prove it. Everyone has a bit of smarty in them and Tessa is no exception.
Tessa has so much dry humor that she becomes one with the reader.
A movie will have nothing on this book when you read the last word and then think WTH did I just read?
It's an amazing delight and yet a sexy read.
Always remember that fairy tales are not just in our minds but in our hearts, in our books and they can become a reality if we only believe. Reach for the proverbial golden ring no matter who you are it's always there. Our hearts no it and it's not the same for everyone Tessa is just the one to tell you that within these amazing pages.

And the Prince? Hubba Hubba

Happy Sexy Reading..

I wanted to love this, especially after the first book was so wonderful, but I just couldn't.

Some of the problems: Tessa comes across as very immature in her relationship with Arthur. She does idiot things like going to a foreign country, getting stupid drunk, causing an international incident, then demanding that Arthur apologize to HER because he wasn't allowed to lecture her. She was also very untrusting, even though he never gave a reason not to trust him. And her mother, Evi? What normal person with brain cells would embarrass her daughter by playing toilet paper games at a shower with royalty present? And then act all angry and injured when Tessa lost her temper over it. Tessa's family was no better. The texts they were always sending - kinda mean. And the friend Nikki who almost acted like she was trying to sabotage Tessa and kept criticizing her. "I don't like who you are any more." Translation: why are you trying to fit in with those people? What kind of true friend does that?

Worst of all, in this sequel, the humor just isn't there. Clearly, most people disagree, but I thought I'd be bookmarking all these funny lines and... not a single one.

4.5 stars!

The follow up to The Royal Treatment is a wonderful addition to the series. It's humorous and a great read! I loved catching up with Prince Arthur and Tessa as they face new challenges after falling love and becoming engaged. Nothing like the disapproval of a country to put up a road block in the path of true love.

Seriously though, I loved the book and can't wait to read more about what Arthur and Tessa get up to!

recensione a cura del blog "Libri magnetici" by Meghan

Quattro stelle e mezzo.

“Well, this has been quite the hoot, my dear.”
Honestly nothing describes this book better than this quote from the Princess Dowager. It was wild and interesting and funny, and I liked it.
Buuutt I just feel like a lot of it was implausible (which I do understand is sort of the theme for Rom-Coms, but still) and I’m just not on board with the very unrealistic resolutions they had to everything.
(I’m also thinking in a British accent which I probably going to become an actual problem really soon💀)
Also special shoutout to Nikki, that girl is the most entertaining, catastrophe human being to exist, and Arthur, the man who has the problem solving skills of a potato🤧👑, and the brain capacity of an egg. (At least he sometimes makes up for it because he’s funny, but honestly he do be needing help)
Mostly out of curiosity I will read book three and let’s see how that goes!

After spending so much time attacking the Monarchy in her blog, now Tessa Sharpe feels the taste of the poison itself...
After being invited by Prince Arthur to know the Monarchy inside, the two end up falling in love.
Now, with little time left for the Royal wedding, Tessa has to face several difficulties to show herself capable of being the next princess.
Arthur's love for her is not in doubt, the problem is the followers of her blog who do not forgive her for having changed sides.
Besides, the king himself does not think Tessa is the right choice for his son, and will do anything to keep Tessa from proving herself worthy.
In the meantime, the reader is amused by all the mess Tessa finds herself in.
Delightful reading.

While I was irritated more with this installment of the Crown Jewels trilogy, the sheer volume of laugh out loud moments made this another 4 star book.

My irritation came with the secrets, the attempts to protect each other from the world, the insincerity of pretty much everyone in Tessa’s life, and the amount of times Tessa finds herself screwing up in public.

All that said, I did enjoy the ups and downs in this whirlwind engagement and wedding. I also enjoyed the true love between the two that provided the sparkle of their love story.

Now on to the third and final story for Tessa and Arthur.

I have to admit that I have been waiting very impatiently for this novel. So when I got the chance to read, and give my complete and unbiased opinion I jumped at it.

So I want to start off by saying that if you did not read The Royal Treatment you must go back and start there. In order to really and truly enjoy every second of this novel you have to know how it all starts. Oh believe me when I say you will not be disappointed by that novel either. It was full of laugh out loud moments on top of it being a very amazing story.

Ok, now that I have told all of those who haven't read book one to go back and do so I can talk about this book. Have you ever had a moment when you have been waiting for a book to be released and then once you get it your disappointed? WELL there is no way in heck this novel will leave you feeling that way. I can say without a doubt that this novel not only met my expectations but greatly surpassed them. I could not wait to find out what trouble Tessa has gotten herself into now. Oh that woman, talk about clumsy. I'm telling you her and I could be sisters. I adore how MJ really brings her to life for us readers. While reading this you just cant help but think " ya, I could see myself doing that (or someone you know)". Then she gives us Arthur. Who is now my favorite royal ( yes, yes I know he isn't real). That being said I did want to slap him upside the head a time or two.

This novel isn't without its conflict and I'm telling you if I hadn't been reading this while my kids were sleeping I would have been yelling at my book. There is just the right amount of conflict to balance out the humor and sweetness. This is the sign of a wonderful writer. They are able to give you a well rounded story.

In the end we have seen all conflict clued up nicely. We got to see more of our favorite characters (Arthurs Grandma is the best in my opinion), gotten a new look at some of the characters in the first novel, had so many laughs, and finally got to read about the wedding of these two amazing characters. I hated to see this end.
So MJ, my question to you is will there be another Arthur and Tessa novel???? I certainly hope so.

Yet another awesome book by Melanie Summers! I laughed and didn’t want to put it down! Tessa and Arthur recently got engaged and are now planning their wedding in 6 months. That means Tessa needs to learn about decorum and also improve her posture. Only Arthur never asked this of her! Hilarious and a really fast read!!

Just as much fun as the first book in this series! The Royal Wedding follows Tessa and Arthur as they navigate a difficult engagement, dealing with differences in class, wealth, and expectations. Make sure you heed the authors' warning at the beginning of the book and read the first book in this series before you jump into this delightful read. It will certainly make this book enjoyable. I can't wait to read the next book in this series!

✨ The Title/Cover Draw:
Book number 2 in the Crown Jewel Series (of 3 series set in Avonia). I think I have 1 more book in each series to read!
💜 What I liked:
Following the journey of Tessa and Arthur, who seem to be in love so much that they have to get married sooner. But of course, they have some obstacles; the class system, plotting queen wanna-bes, and Twitter. There are some really cute twists here.
😱 What I didn’t like:
I always find something to love in these books and as a contemporary romance, I am not in it for the shock value or twists. But I would like to see a few more unexpected nuggets (although the Twitter battle is pretty cool).
💁‍♀️ The Characters:
Tess and Arthur are trying to plan a wedding. Will they be successful?
🚦 My face at the end: 😊

💭 5 Reasons to Read:
The characters are unique and connectable
It’s a quick and easy read
The situations aren’t cringe-worthy
Lots of books in the universe
Who doesn’t love books about royalty?

I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Much more cliche than the last one, but still somehow endearing.

3.5 fun typical royal Stars

This was a good follow up to the story. It’s nice to see it all unfold. The “drama” was predictable but needed. Will read the last of the series.

Funny, Sentimal

A story with humor, great characters, all the requirements for a Sally romance, and the obligatory wonderfully happy ending! looking forward to reading some of the others in this series.
