I have had friends, who had babies born with missing limbs. The little boy in this book has one arm missing below the elbow. This is a sweet story telling how the boy is unique. I read books about people with unique differences to my boys with the hope that they would be kind to others. I put a class in our Cub Scout Day camp to help the boys understand the different ways people do things, when they are missing a limb. The teacher didn't have any arms, and one leg was missing from the knee down. She told me that people often didn't ask her to do things, because they didn't think she was capable. The boys had to do things in different ways. One little boy was so thrilled that he could do the activity better than the boys, with his handicap. That made my day. This book brought me back to those days and experiences.

I am glad to see a book like this one.

I loved this book! It was so good! This book is about a little boy who goes on a journey in the jungle to try to figure out why he is unique. He learns along the way to accept and love the things about him that make him unique. A lot of kids worry about being different, but this book helps them to accept and love the things that make them different then everyone else. We may look different to others, but we are still the same person as before. I would use this in the hospital as a child life specialist especially with children that have had or will have an amputation. As I stated before a lot of kids worry about what people will think of them once something is missing. It is important for them to know that being unique is a good thing. This book can give them the positivity they needed. I think a good activity to go along with this book would just to do some type of drawing. On the drawing would be everything that they like about themselves. It can serve as a reminder for the why they like what they do that is different about them.

cute illustrations! the little boy asks animals about why he does not have 2 hands and they ask why he does not have a tail or wings like them. he wonders why everyone has 2 hands at recess and why he only has one. until the little boy finally understands!

summary: A story about a little boy born with one hand. The boy realizes he is different because all of his friends had 2 hands. He asks the snake in the woods why he does not have 2 hands. He keeps asking all the animals in the woods why he does not have 2 hands and they ask why he does not have wings or a tail. The boy finally understands that he was uniquely made and that is him!

This book is such a great book to teach children about learning and understand the differences that every child has or can be. This book follows a brave boy who is a marketing student at George Town University who is learning how to accept himself, and understand his differences. He was born without a right arm, and he learns that he is not different but just unique.

Little boy only has one hand and he wonders why. He goes and asks every animal he can why he doesn't have a hand and instead they ask him why he doesn't have scales or wings or spots. He decides he doesn't need two hands to know he is a boy.

This story presents a boy with one hand. Throughout the story he was so unsure why he didn't have two hands. To which he goes up to random animals, and they asked him why he doesn't have what they have.

I wan born with seven fingers and knowing that kids all around the world can now read about it at a young age with books like these makes me so so happy. I am a teenager now and I can only think about how little me would’ve loved this book.
