Steadfast #2

Steadfast 2: America's Last Days

Rate this book
In America's Last Days, only the Steadfast will prevail!

In STEADFAST BOOK TWO of The Steadfast Series, a post-apocalyptic novella by D.I. TELBAT, death has blanketed America, but one man has emerged as a survivor. Eric Radner has stood against evil and chosen to preserve life against all odds. Setting aside his own safety, he strives to secure the safety of others.

Where panic and pandemic once swept the nation, now a rogue military threatens the West. Every town is forced into subjection, Christians are persecuted, and resistance is smothered by bullets. Even those who hide in the mountains are suspected and hunted.

This novella series follows a Christian survivalist and woodsman through the heartache and heroism of living in America's collapse, following a pandemic scenario. Christian persecution abounds and fear cripples, but one man rises above the uncertain past and looks to a certain future in the hands of a mighty God.

In the midst of America's Last Days, Eric Radner is . . . STEADFAST!

I've been writing novels and short stories since I was a young teen. God has greatly impacted me, and I now desire to honor the Lord with my life and writing.

My stories can be read in several online and print publications, as well as three anthologies. My bestselling COIL Series include novels Dark Liaison, Book One; Dark Hearted, Book Two; Dark Rule, Book Three; and Dark Vessel, Book Four, and are available at most e-retailers, as are Jaguar Dusk, a Christian Special Forces novel, Sea Scribe, a Covert Christian Mission Suspense, and End Times Novel, God's Colonel. See my website for other novels and stories added often, including Dark Cover, COIL Book Five, to be out late 2014.

I offer free weekly Christian short stories, or serialized novels, my Author Reflections, and occasional challenges to the Christian Church on my Telbat's Tablet blog at http://ditelbat.com.

When I'm not writing, I'm very involved in Christian ministry. I've kept my home office in the NW U.S. where my assistant, Dee, lives and helps with my editing and writing needs.

My motto: There is no redemption without sacrifice.

The second installment of Steadfast was as good as the first. I like getting to know Eric Radner better and finding out how he would fit into the horror of survival. It's amazing a former blogger would become God's John the Baptist in this story.

The advancement of the enemy army draws closer and danger gets nearer and nearer. It's a good, quick read. Once more there are surprises and twists and turns. I like the faith message woven into the book as well.

Decent storyline

But the love story between Eric and Gretchen feels forced. No romance at all. The bonus stories at the end... why not just flesh out the main story and add it in? Plus the last bonus story made no sense, the dog was still alive and he’d been killed before this time frame just a day after getting with the main group.

I enjoyed this book and recommend it. I question if a person could survive alone for multiple years in this type of senerio. The show Alone would lead us to believe not. I also felt that as others wrote that the romance was a little rushed

America's future for Believers?

These stories are short and seem simple but the message within cause thought and self-reflection. If you like dystopian or survivalist stories and this is coupled with the strong faith aspect, these stories will be right up your alley.

And Yes Again

I just finished book two and I'm going to start book three as soon as I finish this review.

There are more people in Eric's life now, and new challenges. His ability to trust God is being stretched and his faith is growing by leaps and bounds. And I like this book even more than I liked the first book last night.

Telbat tells a good clean story, and by that I don't just mean there's no X-rated language or intimacy. He's a clean writer in that there are no grammatical errors or type-os. He knows how to edit his work and prepare it for publication. The reader's intelligence is respected. That said, this book, as delightful as it is, is not great literature. It's not Dostoevsky, there is little self reflection of soul searching here, but that is not what this series is about, and for what it is, it is a gem.

This series is about the glory of God, loving Jesus, promoting faith, and Christian living during the tribulations. And it does that well.

And, yes. I still recommend this series and I'm off to read book three.

Good book especially for 2020. Worth your time.

This is a pretty good short story. Good for the time we are living in now. Looking forward to the next one in the series. I like this book because it shows a person keeping the spirit of humanity in the midst of trouble sometimes. I’m looking forward to the next one in the series very much I really enjoy reading this author because he writes about what it is to have a servants heart to serve others in love and sacrifice.

Great Christian novel as usual! No cussing, no cringe worthy sex scenes etc.
Biblically based novel, scripture included, and applied to lives etc.

I will continue to read and highly recommend this author.

Trust in the Lord!

I really can’t put this series aside. In the face of overwhelming odds we see a man surrender in faith and trust in the Lord. This series has helped me desire to trust fully and be of service.

Praise God for these books

I love this series. I've waited months to read these six books. I was so moved and grateful after finding and reading the other series I wanted to save these and devote myself to each book.
And I am no disappointed.

Interesting story

This is. Most unusual plot. Seemed more like a term paper in length. Good and will be interesting to see how concludes.

loved it

This was a great read. The only downside was one of the main characters getting killed, but I won’t spoil it by telling which one. Looking forward to the next book.
