Whisper Forever

Rate this book
Recommended for Mature Audience I wanted to forget him so many times. Erase the memories we shared and pretend he didn’t exist. It would have made his absence easier to accept. Lucas Rivers broke my heart more than once. In my world he was my guy, the one I’d grow old with and laugh with. But things aren’t that simple, and time changes everything. That naive girl with dreams of happily-ever-afters was gone.  I didn’t need a man to complete me. I was enough—no, I was more than enough. I was strong and determined. I was Madelyn Emery, and never again would a boy break my heart. But the moment Lucas returned after four years, acting like we could pick up where we left off, that strength inside me shifted. The more I tried to ignore his efforts, the harder he fought. How can one simple word whispered by one man mean so very much? “Forever.”

descriptionThis cover is pretty nice. A good representation on the heroine. Good composition and interesting typography.description

descriptionIt's not often I get to venture out of ARC reading land but this one intrigued me and I do LOVE a good second chance love story. Although I personally wouldn't call this one a second chance love story as I never felt Lucas had romantic feelings towards Maddie until he came back to his hometown. A great friendship that he tossed aside when he became popular in high school, sure, but more than that, on his side at least no. So I think a better description for their story would be friends to lovers.

In any case, I enjoyed this one a lot. It was well written and fairly well paced. It did drag a bit for me here and there in the second half. No OW drama. A bit of OM drama. Maddie does have a boyfriend at the beginning of the story, and they do kiss, but they break up fairly quickly, and he is a jerk. There is a nice bit of angst and drama. Some interesting secondary characters. Some hot sex scenes. All wrapped up in a super sweet epilogue.

description

Both main characters were fairly likable. Lucas (22) was nearly perfect. He knew he hurt Maddie. He was aware that he was a jerk. He owned it and apologized for it. He was all about making Maddie his from the word go. Maddie (21) I enjoyed for the most part. She annoyed me a bit with a decision towards the end. But thankfully her father gave her the nudge she needed, and we didn't have to suffer through pages and pages of separation.

All in all a very enjoyable way to spend a couple hours. Two thumbs up from your truly.description

Lucas and Maddie are friends when they are younger and grew up together but drift apart at the beginning of high school. Lucas goes a different route, only interested in football and what it can gain him, going off to college trying to hit it big. Maddie shies away from all that and chooses to concentrate on school and her family's farm. I wouldn't call this a second chance story really as the two are never in any type of romantic relationship. They are simply friends who drift apart. Maddie holds deeper feelings for Lucas but even then, it's hard to believe it's more than a "child-like" love since they are never in a relationship and so young.

When Lucas' world falls apart, he comes back home with his tail between his legs and sets about to make things right with the ones he pushed away in his quest of finding something better. He realizes he was a douche. He owns up to it. His biggest regret is not continuing his friendship with Maddie. When he sees the strong, independent woman she's become, he's interested in more than friendship.

I absolutely LOVED Lucas. Yes, he was wrong for letting his friendship with Maddie go the way he did. Yes, he thought he wanted out of the small town and on to "bigger and better" things. Yes, he was sad and disappointed he wouldn't be able to play football again...he had hopes and dreams. But he realizes his hopes and dreams can change and be something just as good if not better. He soon realized all he needed was right there. He was going to use everything at his disposal to make Maddie see he was all in.

I had a little harder time with Maddie. So many times she annoyed the HELL out of me. Yes, I get she was hurt because Lucas let their friendship go. But too many times, she ASSUMED things and projected feelings onto him without talking to him about it. And she makes a decision for Lucas that I think she had absolutely NO right to make. Was she being selfless? Yes, I agree she was but I don't think she could know how he actually felt and whether he would be okay the way things were or not. It wasn't her choice to make. And I feel she left him in a bad place because she wasn't with him. I did like Maddie for the most part. I just felt she was trying too hard to protect her heart when in reality her and Lucas were never really a thing before. Now they are adults and it frustrated me that she assumed too much about him.

Things work out...you know they do. And there's a nice epilogue at the end that I adored. The book wasn't perfect, but I still enjoyed it.

As its been stated before I'm a grovel whore. I love me some good grovel AND while this book did deliver on the grovel (the Hero continued to apologize even after the H/h were together) I still found the Hero lacking in some ways. Don't get me wrong, he was written well and I did believe in his remorse but I just couldn't get over the fact that had he not been hurt he never would have returned and tried to make up with the heroine.

Here's the thing...I can be a bitch (I own it...). When it comes to second chance romances or Hero's who walked away from the heroine I don't want the Hero's life to be perfect while he was gone. I want him to suffer some. I want him to be happier around the heroine than he is in his "new" life and to actually regret leaving. That didn't happen here. Yes, he stated that he thought about the heroine often and missed her BUT had he not been hurt I never go the impression that he would have come back to make amends. He was completely happy in his new life. Being out of his hometown was what he had always wanted. He didn't want to stay there, left as soon as he could and never looked back BUT he was forced to return. Only upon his return did he think about or even attempt to make things right with the heroine. Also...another annoying thing. He only thought of the heroine as a "friend" until he saw her all grown up. He went from "I want to be her friend again" to "I want to BE with her" quickly. On a side note...him thinking and missing the heroine didn't prevent him from sleeping with OW - NO we don't get any details of his sexual activities while he was away but he was in no way celibate.

Another pet peeve I have is when we are told that it was the Hero who changed and ended his "friendship" with the heroine, it was the Hero who got arrogant and ignored the heroine, it was the Hero who let his popularity go to his head, it was the Hero who repeatedly broke the heroine heart for over 30% of the book to all of a sudden be told that the heroine changed too and it was also HER fault their friendship ended. EVERYTHING we had seen up till that point was the Hero pulling away from the heroine once they got in high school. We NEVER saw her pull away. We saw her attempt to pursue and attempt to keep the Hero's friendship. The author used the "its your fault too" excuse as a way to have the heroine get over the Hero's betrayal.

As for the heroine, I liked that she was strong. She was in love with the Hero but when he pulled away from her in high school and then left with out a backwards glace or even a goodbye she moved on. She lived her life and she WASN'T CELIBATE! I don't know how many partners she had but we do know she wasn't a blushing virgin. What I didn't like though was some of the decisions she made at the end - I don't think she should have had to give up her dream so he could live his. She had already done that once. She was 150% happy to live in the small town and had no desire to ever live anywhere else yet she sacrificed so that the Hero could have his dream. I also didn't like how she just let the past go with the Hero so quickly. I think he needed to work a little harder to get back in her good graces.

Overall it was a good book and mostly realistic in the way it was written. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes second-chance romances and a good grovel. I would also consider it safe - no scenes or memories of OM/OW for the H/h. A little OW/OM drama as the heroine has a boyfriend when the Hero arrives back in town. The OW drama came in the form of a girl the Hero hooked up with in high school who wanted to make it appear that her and the Hero were going to hook up since he was back in town.

3.5-4 stars. My stars are mostly for Lucas. He made some mistakes when he was younger. We ALL do. But he also became a good man that would do anything for Maddy including giving up things that could make him happy. Maddy on the other hand was unbendable when it came to her own plans. Why was everything all about her? I loved her Dad's chat with her towards the end. And it had a great epilogue.

I love second chance romances. It just makes everything sweeter, because they already know what it feels like to lose each other, so they love harder.

I’m not gonna lie, I wanted Lucas to suffer. He was so stupid, arrogant, and blind. Ugh, just thinking about it makes me mad. He admits to being all of this, and when he saw Maddie again for the first time, I reveled in it. He regretted everything he ever did to hurt her in that moment. He didn’t really do anything on purpose. He was just a stupid young boy, but I just couldn’t help but sympathize with Maddie.

Maddie is done with waiting for Lucas to love her back. She’s stronger now, and she has her whole life ahead of her. Lucas being back in town will not change her mind. Maddie didn’t give in to Lucas immediately, and I wouldn’t like this book as much as I did if she gave in too quickly. She really made him work for it, and she really deserved that after all he did.

Once they got together, you could really feel that they were perfect for each other. They were best friends before anything else, so they knew everything there was to know about the other, and it made them stronger. If you’re in the mood for a sweet second chance novel, I highly suggest you check this one out!

If you love books about 2nd chances, then this is the book for you.
Maddie Emery and Lucas Rivers' story was one of the best books CA Harms has written. The story had such a pull that I just couldn't put it down until I forced myself. It's fast moving.
I also loved how selfless Maddie is. Luke's happiness was all she ever wanted. And for Luke it was having all the facts slap in the face. This book proved you can go home again

Whisper Forever has to be CA Harms' BEST BOOK YET! The feels, you guys, the feels!!

I'm a sucker for second-chance romances and CA Harms nailed it. The anguish, the regret, the heartache: all there! The passion, the love, the chemistry...all very much present as well. Ah!! LOVED this book! LOVED IT and ended up reading it practically in one sitting!

"I sat there feeling as if I was seeing her for the very first time, and in a way I was. My Maddy was fucking beautiful. Only she wasn’t mine. She was his. Conversations went on around me, but I couldn’t comprehend a word. My chest was tight and I struggled to breathe evenly. The ache was so deep and crippling. My pulse raced, my mouth grew dry, and suddenly I felt like the ground had shifted beneath my feet. Just when I felt as if I was regaining some control, she turned toward the table where I was sitting and her eyes locked with mine."

Lucas and Maddy had been best friends since they were little. They knew each other like they knew themselves, but during high school, Lucas took a different path. He became the football star on the fast track to the NFL and their friendship suffered. What Lucas did not count on was having to cut those dreams short during college. Too short, in fact. Making his way back home was probably one of the hardest decisions he had to make. He was broken and CA Harms did a phenomenal job in portraying that through and through.

"Madelyn Rose Emery made coming home that much harder. She is and would always be my biggest regret. Maddy was the best part of Alvord, and I was just a stupid kid who figured that out far too late."

Maddy sure as shit did NOT expect to see Lucas at one of their local bars. Talk about a feeling-the-blood-drain-from-your-face type of shock! But that surprised feeling quickly took a back seat to anger and hatred, especially when Lucas started treating Maddy like nothing had changed...like he hadn't just abandoned her for the past few years.

To say Lucas and Maddy had a rocky start to the re-kindling of their friendship would be an understatement. Maddy was feisty and sassy now and she did not take anyone's crap, especially Lucas'. But Lucas had learned his lesson. He already knew the pain of living without Maddy. He wasn't about to let that happen once more.

And then, things sure got HOT. Sizzling hot, to be exact. But just as I was starting to relax while reading because well, they were together finally, CA Harms had to throw in a little curve ball that made my heart HURT. Lucas' fear made me very antsy, not to mention sad! I felt his anguish, his concerns! The author truly developed very well the emotional side of this story where as a reader, I felt all the emotions these characters experienced. I was right there with them in their journey.

Seriously, Whisper Forever was very well written and developed. I am in awe of this author's talent and cannot wait to see what else she brings our way! FIVE STARS and TOP recommendation!

C.A Harms is at it again and totally had me neglecting housework, again. Haha! I could not put this down. Laundry schmaundry, packing schmacking. Eh, who cares about that stuff when you're able to get lost in a great book like this one.
Maddy and Lucas story was sweet, funny, and HOT! I loved that there was drama but it didn't overtake the story. Lucas had me swooning right alongside Maddy.
CA Harms is a favorite go-to author of mine. Can't wait to read what she comes out with next.

I enjoyed the story line. I was able to connect to the characters. The only fault that was small but throughout the book were grammar errors. To some they can over look this, but English was my favorite subject lol

I love the text messages Lucas sends to his girl, "you know that when you get all feisty it turns me on. You using my full name has me kind of excited, not gonna lie." Luke is always up for showing his girl his manliness, “darlin’, I think we both know already that in no way am I lacking,” he said, his voice taking on that deep huskiness I loved. “But if you need me to remind you, I can do that too.” I loved this book, Luke was one sweet man.

From the moment they could walk Lucas and Maddy formed a deep bond their friendship was known by everyone in their town they seemed unbreakable but as they grew older it changed drastically until Lucas moved away.
When Lucas comes home he finds a very different Maddy she's no longer the girl that looks at him with love. I liked the older Maddy, she speaks her mind is focused and independent and is no pushover. Lucas has just begun to realise what he threw away, not only his best friend but the promise of what they could have been.
This is a sweet second chance romance that will have you smiling.

I love a good country romance and this didn't disappoint! C.A. Harms has taken the cliché of ‘childhood best friends, girl loves boy, boy leaves and breaks her heart, and then comes back’ second chance romance, and made it entirely her own.

Something that is often forgotten when creating characters, is their flaws. But Harms has created realistic, three dimensional characters, she doesn't shy away from creating a flawed hero and heroine and this just develops the entire story wonderfully. We see Madelyn and Lucas as children, both strong willed and defiant, butting heads but still being the best of friends. We also see the change that happens to Lucas when he gets to high school, through the eyes of the heartbroken Madelyn. Loving a boy that withdrew further and further away from her; as his ego grew from being a big shot football player.

But Lucas sustains a severe injury during college ball and has to give up on his NFL dream pretty quick. Returning to Texas, grieving the loss of his dream, he runs into the girl he left behind, now all grown up. And dating a guy he despises. Lucas’ injury changes his life more than he first anticipated. It wakes him up to the pain his arrogance has caused, and how much he missed out on because of this. This new awareness changes him for the better, he wants to prove to Madelyn and everyone else in his life that he will never take them for granted again.

Madelyn is a sweet, kind hearted woman that's sassier than Hades in Disney’s Hercules…

She too has grown into a better person, she's a wiser and much more confident person than the Madelyn he left behind but she still carries with her the pain and insecurities Lucas’ rejection caused and these insecurities will create some obstacles for them in the story. Basically, prepare for a healthy dose of angst.

There were some minor grammar issues, but the story immerses you so completely that you're able to look past these issues without difficulty. I found this book to be a fun, steamy romance; perfect for a ‘one sitting’ read. This was my first C.A. Harms book but it certainly won’t be my last! Perfect for fans of Kelly Elliott.

I loved this book! Harms is such a great author, and I always look forward to when a new books comes out. This one was no exception! I found it very exciting and extremely hard to put down.

Once again, the characters are fantastic. True to Harms’ previous writing, the character are all individual and interact in ways that feel very realistic. I liked that each one was unique and absolutely loved the way the main characters worked together. They were what truly drew me in.

The pace of the book is fab. If you are looking for a read that will keep you entertained and excited for the characters, this is it. It is perfect, with the main character fighting so hard to remain true to herself, yet the leading man fights back with love. Their interactions spur on the excitement and had me going from tears to joy, with both their past and the potential future. I loved getting to know them and the energy they shared.

Overall, this was a great book. It showed strength and love, as well as heartbreak, and was pure bliss to read.

Audio Version Review:
A beautiful allegory tale about childhood best friends Madelyn & Lucas. A sweet southern small town romance with a bit of angst, lighthearted, & witty southern charm. Chasing dreams while letting others go to chase that dream. Narrator Sarah Puckett did excellent portraying southern drawl & the ability to differentiate between male & female characters is colossal. I absolutely loved Maddie's voice vocals. Her voice is clear, smooth, & modulated. The tone & pace are perfect and everything flows through smoothly. A candied sweet & sassy escapade listen.

Just another fabulous story from CA Harms. Major #FanGirl right here. I always know her characters are going to be well written and she is going to make them completely relate-able to real life. The issues and scenarios Madelyn and Lucas go through in this story are all relative to real life.

Lucas is that sweet, young boy who lets his high school celebrity get the best of his ego. As any typical young man would do, he relishes in the attention and leaves behind his best-friend, Maddy. With thoughts of bigger and better things outside of their small home town, he continues to break Maddy’s heart.

Lucas and Madelyn were best friends as young children. However high school came along and Lucas became the star football player that everyone loved and they drifted apart, leaving Madelyn heartbroken. Now years later, Lucas is home from college and Lucas wants his best friend back. Only that sweet girl is now a sassy, stubborn, gorgeous woman.

OMG! I loved this book! I absolutely LOVE Madelyn! Her strength, sassiness and stubborn streak was so much fun to see. I absolutely love her attitude and her passion. I was so hooked! Lucas and Madelyn's story was absolute perfection. I laughed out loud. I cried. I definitely swooned over Lucas. Such a stunningly beautiful story. A MUST READ!!! 6 stars!!!

Whisper Forever by CA Harms is a lovely friends to lovers book. Madelyn has always held a torch for Luke. All is lost when he goes off to college on a football scholarship. But a career ending injury brings Luke back home, back home to Madelyn. Could this be their chance to find love?

CA Harms was a new to me author. I am glad I gave this book a chance because I really liked it. The blurb is what sold me on it. When Luke whispers, "Forever." That part right there got me. I'm definitely going to be looking for more books by this author. The review is for The Sweet Spot Sisterhood Blog.

Once again this author has blown me away with her words. This storyline was incredible. It hooked me in and kept me locked in until the very last word. Her characters are always down to earth and very easy to fall in love with. I love stories where the characters have been friends all their lives. One of them is in love with the other and the other seems oblivious. That moment. That "AHA" moment, makes the entire story. This is another great story by an amazing author. I can't wait to see what she has up her sleeve next!

This was my 1st book by CA HARMS & I absolutely loved it! I literally read it in one sitting. I'm a sucker for HEA & I enjoyed her writing style. Madelyn and Lucas were #goals! Their story is so adorable....they were friends since day one, neighbors and Madelyn knew he was her one since she was little but Lucas being your typical guy didn't see it and thought of her as his best friend...life got in their way and they lost touch during high school but life has a funny way of bringing them back together and when it does Lucas finds himself realizing Maddy was the one all along but she has since moved on and she doesn't want to let him in.....can he convince her and show her he messed up or is it too late for them????

I highly recommend this book and I can't wait to be able to share it with my daughter when she's older...I truly loved the magic in this book and the sweetness of their love!

LEEANN'S REVIEW
4 STARS

This is a 2nd chance/Friends to lovers romance at its finest. Mady and Jake are two best friends that have grown apart as best friends sometimes do.
Maddy is a realist and Jake lives in a bit of a fantasy land. He doesn’t see why he can’t always have what he wants. Sometimes, life just doesn’t work that way.

When these two characters get their 2nd chance, Jake honestly feels like he has won the lottery. They are both caught up in the magic of the romance and of course the
phenomenal sex! He can’t see that anything in the world would ever threaten what they now have. But like all good romance stories there is a bit of angst thrown in to
cause a major upheaval in their lives.

This story is a pure romance and underneath all the swooniness and the romance are two young people that have been given a 2nd chance and are both holding on to
make their relationship work because they want it that badly!
The characters are emotional and empathetic. They always take into consideration each others feelings and al their decisions are made with the best of intentions.
The story flows well and has a feel good tone to it that has you smiling most of the way through.
This is not a super long story but it is long enough to get the point across without dragging on and for you to become invested In the characters and feel happy with the
ending they got.

I absolutely enjoyed this book and it is worth getting that one click finger out for!

Maddie Emery and Lucas Rivers' story will have you rooting for them while reaching for tissues. The story had such a pull that I was drawn to their 2nd chance love story from page one, word one until the very last word on the very last page. Whisper Forever is such a beautiful and haunting love story that will have you asking where your own Lucas Rivers is.
Madelyn and Lucas grew up together as the best of friends for they were neighbors as kids and their parents were friends so it was natural that they would hang out and do everything together. But when they hit the high school years, Lucas became mister big man and left Madelyn in the dust and forgot about her and they just seem to go their separate ways while Madelyn tried to hide her heartbreak. Four years have passed and Lucas is back after having his dream of playing pro football was shattered. Lucas remembers his best friend Madelyn and wants to reconnect with her but she doesn’t have fond memories of their HS years and doesn’t want anything to do with him, especially to let him near her heart again. Madelyn is now one beautiful, sassy and independent woman who isn’t about to let any man, especially Lucas Rivers back into her heart after they did a number on it. But Lucas isn’t a man you count down or out. He realized he made a mistake and he is ready to prove he has grown up and is a man ready to show his love for his woman, his mate. Will their story have that HEA ending? OH you have to read this outstanding new 2nd chance romance novel by CA Harms to find out!!

Madelyn and Lucas, these two made my heart feel like it was going to explode. C.A. as always does a great job giving us the story. The whole story. We begin at age 8 and 10 and work our way up to early twenties. We feel that moment when we know these two were destined to be together. We see how they grew apart. We know the anger that is held with Madelyn.

Lucas became who the school wanted him to be. He forgot his friend. He moved into a new social circle. He dated, went out, and completely abandoned his best friend even after telling her that he wouldn't.

He returns.

Madelyn is still carrying the love for Lucas. All these years later and his eyes can still make her whole body shake. Although she has grown and tried to move it, its hard. Its hard to forget your best friend. Its hard to forget your first love. Its hard to move on when he's back and right in front of you.

Lucas makes it his mission to get his best friend back. He does a stand up job, he doesnt quit. He makes her feel all that she should have felt years before. He keeps trying and trying until she gives in. These will make your heart melt. I seriously didnt take a break from reading until I was done.

When Lucas finally gets her, he has this to say: "If you try to leave, I’ll take the tires off your truck.”His statement made me laugh. “No joke, sweetheart. I will drain your gas tank, remove your wheels, and hide your battery.”

CA has always, your work is something to love and keeps me wanting more.

I want to start off by saying I absolutely love the cover for this book, it just drew me straight in and I couldn't wait to read it! CA Harms always brings us books that have me swooning so hard yet reaching for the tissues, her writing is damn near flawless in my opinion. I read this book in one sitting, I was completely engrossed in the story of Lucas and Maddie ands couldn't put it down!

Lucas Rivers left his small town in the rear view mirror four years ago when he left for college with huge dreams, he had no intention of stepping foot back in the sleepy little town of Alford, Texas but after getting injured he has no other choice.

Madelyn has known from she was nine years old that she would marry Lucas Rivers but after the last time he broke her heart she shelved them plans and tried her damnedest to move on. There was only one problem though, Lucas Rivers still held her heart even after everything he done to her.

If I’m being honest I thought Lucas had done something worse to Maddie, not that what he did wasn’t bad enough but I kind of expected something different. Watching Lucas grovel and make up for the wrongs he did as an inconsiderate boy was a big highlight in this story.

I fell head over heels for both of these characters, I absolutely loved the chemistry between the two main characters. I felt the connection these two shared jumping straight off the pages of this story.

The secondary characters were a big bonus for me also, they all had a great comradery and their banter at times was great fun. They were there for each other and stuck by their friends when the times called for it.

The fact that we got a second epilogue just made my day, I love a good epilogue and getting two nearly tipped me over the edge. If I could give this book 10 stars I would happily it was just that good! This was another amazing book from the lovely Crystal, her books just get better and better for me and at the minute Lucas Rivers has taken my top spot in the favourite CA Harms heroes list!

I received a book from the author for an honest review.

This is a 2nd chance love/Friends to Lovers story and it kept me from the very 1st. I sat and counted put it down. The story of Lucas and Maddie was full of angst and hurt with a side of chemistry and arrogance.

Maddie declared her love for Lucas at age 9. Well of course Lucas being a 10-year-old boy thought she was super gross for suggesting such a statement. Even though Maddie’s heart was broken and kept getting broken by Lucas, she still couldn’t shake the love she has for him.

Lucas thought of Maddie as his friend. His buddy. When he grew more and more popular he didn’t have time for his best friend anymore. He has willing and able females to keep him entertained. Football and big money was all he knew and all he cared for. When the karma train kick his butt back to the small town they are both from, THAT is when he opens his eyes and SEES his best friend as more than just a buddy but a WOMAN!!

I loved seeing Lucas grovel and chase Maddie but I also loved seeing he finally give in and accept his words of love and of caring. I think the emotions Maddie feels over not wanting to be a 2nd choice are legit because I would feel the same way. The couple go through a lot in this book but the epilogue was awesome and I loved that we got 2 epilogues essentially. We get a his and her’s POV. Each one makes you hear t a bit gooier then it already was.

I voluntarily accepted an advanced reader copy of this book.

I love a good second chance romance. Luke and Madelyn were childhood best friends. Maddy always had feelings for Luke but he always saw her as his best friend. In high school they grew apart and Luke went on to play college football and Maddy stayed behind.

Four years later Luke returns and realized that the love of his life was always in front of him but Maddy wanted nothing to do with him. He broke down the walls and they started a relationship that was beyond friends. It was beautiful to see them finally coming together even though I wanted to hang Luke from the way he treated her in the past but he clearly redeemed himself.

Maddy ex is an a$$ and their families were their biggest cheerleaders. They had a minor bump but nothing that couldn't be handled. And that epilogue, ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.

I was pulled right into this story. This story contains love, heartbreak, and pain.

This is Madelyn and Lucas‘s story. When Lucas left Madelyn she was heartbroken. She has been trying to move on the last few years but it was tough. She finally moved on and has decided that she does not need a man to complete her. Now suddenly Lucas is back and determined to have Madelyn. Can she resist him and keep him at arm’s length? Or did she never truly get over him. Lucas is back and determined to get his girl. But is she only his choice now as he lost his first love?

I highly recommend this book.

I went into this book after reading the blurb with high expectations. Often in those instances, you can be let down. But I really wasn't with Whisper Forever!

Lucas and Madelyn had known each other their whole life, and she insisted that they were meant to be together. But that led her to being disappointed by him a number of times. Madelyn rebounded, though! Both main characters were well-written and likeable. The plot was very good, although maybe a bit drawn out for my taste, and the book was done quite well.

Good book, and worth the read!

**************ARC provided for an honest review***********************
So, my only complaint is that Madelyn gave in so easily/quickly.
Luke was very repentant, but he didn’t specifically come back for her, and I wonder if she wasn’t the attractive girl she grew up to be would he have pursued her? Or would he have only tried to get their friendship back?
The ending was cute, but not unexpected since there was little to no drama to muck it up.

It's taken me so long to find a good book lately and once I started this book I knew I probably should've waited a couple more hours to start it because once I started I couldn't put it down ;) but it was definitely well worth me going to be really tired for work tomorrow. I absolutely loved Lucas and Madelyn's story :)
