Protein powder for diabetics but no reference as to what kind to use

This is my first book from this author. These recipes are very creative in its we of ingredients. However, "protein powder" is used in my of the recipes.

Perhaps the author has addressed this ingredient in previous books but I know nothing on protein powders. Being diabetic myself I am very much concerned of any ingredient I know nothing about.

I would have addressed my concern privately but after a google search on the author, Amazon "reviews" was the only way I found to express this.

Thank you.
