Such a let down

This book did not really go anywhere. It could have been done in a couple of short paragraphs to the first book. The first one was so good. She didn't really have a plan to take the story forward so it fell flat.

Ok book two in The Lost Children trilogy was better than book one. I have given it a solid four stars due to the storyline, writing and the focus being on their abilities. I really am looking forward to the last book.

Fast paced, high energy and drama
Lots going on in this one and I was really excited to know what happened before the group all met each other. This is the book where questions gets answered, but more questions get asked. From page one to the last, I couldn't put it down. I kept NEEDING to read to know what happened next. The drama that unfolds after everyone gets their memories back definitely made it a page turner. Stakes are high and things go down.

This is Krista Street's best writing yet. She's fantastic at drawing in the reader using all senses and creating characters that everyone loves. I can't wait for the last book to find out how things end. I'm ready for more!

I was so happy that the book went into more detail of the family dynamic. All the different relationships and the details of their abilities. I was happy that the author wrote a few chapters about Lena’s memories before the drug! I am intrigued with these 3 new characters that were added near the end, they are definitely different, but I’m excited to know more.

This series has been awesome from the beginning and I am so glad the second book didn’t disappoint (because sometimes the second book in the series can be tough to read), the author did fabulous!

Onto the last book! I am excited to see how the author completes the series!☺️

I love the storyline between Lena and Flint and the background we get on the program that brought them all to this isolated existence. I unfortunately find myself not caring as much about Di or Amber. I don't know what it is about them but they are not very empathetic characters compared to the others in the group. I also am leery of Father but am not entirely sure why.
Some people have had problems with what they term as casual sex in the book, but they seem to forget that a) the group have been together for over 15 years, b) they wait until both parties are 18, c) they wait until they have birth control, d) they are not given the birth control without a meeting with Father, and e) it is not done just to do it, they have been together for longer than it seems and both are adults.
Enough of that, the story as a whole shows how they come together as a family, team, unit, whatever to try to save others that unfortunately could not be saved earlier with them. I appreciate how most of them take "honing their powers" so seriously and do not just say "Nope I already know it all." The characters show they are still maturing and growing. There is so much to learn about what is "Remembered" by the group that I think the title is perfect. Krista Street is a very talented writer and I can't wait to read more.

4.5 stars, actually.

If the first book, Forgotten, introduced us to the fascinating bunch of young adults who were experimented on by the mysterious O'Brien research facility with just enough tantalizing detail to hint at why they are broken and unlike any other youth you have met, this second book in the series fills in the details.

Lots of details. We get cool glimpses of Lena and Flint's relationship as they were growing up in the Forbidden Hills. We get flashes of traumatic memories from Lena of what it was like in the facility, and we get a lot of Flint and Lena together (and there was much rejoicing.)

We also get the gang exploring their new powers, and then putting them into use as they return to O'Brien for any remaining lost children. No spoilers here, but the end of the book has Lena in a seminal moment of coming into her own power and confidence, as well as the addition of a few intriguing new members to the gang.

The story does start off a bit slow, and sometimes, despite Flint's sexiness, I wanted Lena to be so accepting of his overprotectivness, but all in all it's a minor quibble of personal taste. Off to read the next one!

Love this series!

I was just as hooked from start to finish with this book as I was with the first. It's an excellent continuation of the story begun in book one. The dynamics of their relationships, both one on one, and as a "family" are both compelling and realistic. These characters are all brilliantly flawed, each in their own way, just still making the absolute best with what they were given and what they know. Best new stuff, and author, I've read recently.

Great characters

This is a good easy read. I love strong female leads. And though Lena is still growing up and learning about her abilities , she’s a strong determined woman. This is a fun series . I love reading about each character’s abilities. If you like reading about people having powers, gifts or just being different than the norm then you will like this book! Can’t wait to read the last one!

A good sequel

It’s very hard to make a middle book as interesting as the first or the last but I believe this author did it. We get to access Lena’s forgotten memories and even a tiny bit of what it was like for her in the lab as a child. The action was plenty and the romance was good.

I would recommend this book for readers 18+ as there are sex scenes.

I have enjoyed the development of the plot even more this second time through the series. The development of the characters' powers and the information about Project Renata make this very engaging. The idea of the remaining lost children and what their possible powers could be is a great addition to the story.

Disappointed

First book was easy reading and adventurous. Story moved to slow in this 2nd book and just honestly got boring. I could only finish 73% of this book. I will not be moving on to next book.

Okay

Drop in quality from the first one. Characters are very juvenile, more like early teenagers than twenty somethings. Even more than can be explained by their circumstances. Flint is way too protective and Lena is way too accepting of it.

Not Awful

I’m starting to realize that this series reminds me a lot of The Darkest Minds books; however, it’s not nearly as good. Kids with special powers forced on them by evil adults. I like that we have some new additions, so I’ll probably keep reading eventually.

Sigh...Flint and Lena are relationship goals. I enjoyed the flashbacks where we got to see them fall in love the first time around.
The group is back together and plotting to break into the laboratories where they once were held in order to rescue the remaining lost children. First step is to recover their memories. Oh boy! This was a joyful experience for some and not so much for others. (I seriously wanted the POV's for Mica and Jasper once they recovered their memories!! Novella, anyone?) Once they recover their memories and train, they take off to the facility to take back the others.
I love the relationships among the group and how they worked together despite personal conflict. Looking forward to the next book. Recommend this series to those wanting a engrossing light read.

I absolutely love this series! I’ve learned as an avid supernatural series reader if you can hook the reader after the second book than that’s it! And honestly after the first book I knew this was my kind of series. Our favorite squad of misfits finally gets dosed with the medication to make them remember. We learn so much more about their origins and their powers. I don’t want to spoil anything but most of them have much more special abilities than you originally thought! The end of the book is so exciting and so satisfying. We meet new characters, we come face to face with evil, and once again Father’s children come out on top! But they aren’t totally out of harms way and I know for a face book three is going to be amazing abs filled with action.

A great continuation of story

As the group get better acquainted with Father, they realize it's still not safe for them. Father suggests they move to his other house and he can help them recover their lost memories. Now, with memories recovered and the group makes the adjustment to their recovered memories. They also realize their maybe more individuals kept at the pharmaceutical company. With Fathers help, they each learn more about their talents and how to use them, while planning a rescue mission. Father finds out that there are only 3 people left from all of the children taken. So they go after the 3 left and rescue them. The outcome is that Marcus now knows they are still alive and he plans to find all of them

I just can't believe that Jasper's and Mica's connection wasn't as strong as Lena's and Flint's despite their memory loss.
It seems some of them had a full personality makeover after they woke up without their memories. Especially Amber. I don't know how Jasper, Mica and Amber were able to get over the relationship mix up. But kudos to the them for putting their fuck up behind them.
Anyway, this book is full of new discoveries both good and painful (Jasper and Mica).
They found out they had much more power than they thought, the reason their "father" blocked their memories, and they located and rescued three more lost children.

The second in the Lost Children series sees our heros regaining their memories and with them their powers become enhanced. Powers they will need if they are going to help others like them.

The story is quite good, a times I feel it's a bit X-Men so if you enjoy that superhero genre you may like these books.

As with the previous book the writing is still a bit immature but the characters develop nicely one their memories return. At times I found things irritating, there's only so many times I need to hear what Flint's scent is like!

If your a fan of the Supernatural and plenty of intrique and mystery then this is definitely the read for you, as you follow along reading about lena and the other young adults that are involved in this story. I was very intriued it had me on the edge of my seat, this is a real page turner. Its riggt up there with the 100, divergent and the hunger games this is definitely a series I would love to see on a scene. A Fantastic read that I definitely recommend.

This second book fills in quite a bit of the background that was missing from the first book and addresses rescuing others that were left behind in the first rescue. I will be delighted to see how this story resolves itself in the last installment. This is not appropriate for younger readers due to sexual content.

Love where this story could go. I just jumped right into this series on this book. I feel I have a pretty good jist of what happened in the 1st book. I am a huge super power fan and love all things to do with super powers. Genetically enhanced or not. This series has the making to be remarkable and powerful. Interested to see where it goes.

Another excellent book.

The new characters were a little less believable but no less interesting. The escape had me holding my breath. Anticipation for 3 high but regret the series end as it is a favorite.

Riveting!

I never use the trite phrase,"page-turner," but this series certainly is. A unique blend of fantasy and sci-fi, the plot is well-designed and each character is unique. Highly recommended.

My review is based on the audiobook - I am listening to Books 1-3 and reviewing as they complete.
Book 2 allows us to get to know the other characters better. It is fast paced and I really like the storyline and world the author has created for the series. Looking forward to book 3

I’m glad I went on to the second book because it was much better than the first. There was more to it then just a romance with a small paranormal twist, like the first one. It was still a bit of a slow build for me, but I enjoyed how it all played out at the end.
