I remember the TV show from childhood and often wish I had such a device as Bernard's watch, so when I received the book for Christmas I was very pleased.
It's well written for the intended age of the reader and the story progresses well, though I was a little disappointed with the twist as this turned a very minor character into a major villain in about a page, which I thought could have been built upon throughout so it seemed less like the author was writing himself out of a cul-de-sac.
Enjoyable nonetheless.

I picked this up randomly from the library when I was a kid, and found it fascinating. Bernard's Watch is a light-hearted and exciting children's book for the most part, but it has an implicit theme of the inevitability of death. Definitely a must-read.

Wonderful! Such a fun story and you never quite know where it's going to go next. I laugh along the way, gasp at the sudden unexpected jeopardy and the end always brings a tear to my eye no matter that I've read it several times now. Now available as an ebook.

I read this book like 7 years ago, and the main concept is still something I think of to this day. Setting aside writing style and plot, this book is worth reading as it will probably make you go "woah, that's pretty cool."
