There's nothing fake about how much I loved this book!
If you read Lauren's last fabulous release, Anaconda, then you'll definitely remember meeting Mindy. She's the fun, feisty best friend of Bri. Mindy has no filter and is absolutely unapologetic about it, which makes for some hilarious moments throughout the story. Little did we know that when we met her family, we would see that she definitely comes by that trait honestly!
Serial dater/party girl, turned workaholic since becoming a co-owner of the coffee shop she works in, Mindy told a fib to her mother about a year ago. She was fed up with fending off questions about when she was going to settle down and start making some grand-babies, so she lied and told her mother that she was happily engaged. This was no problem when their interactions were kept to just phone calls, but when Mindy's mom calls to invite her to her wedding, she's forced to either fess up or produce a handsome, rich fiance as her date to the wedding.
Bri's well meaning husband Gavin makes an arrangement with one of his good friends and poker buddies and although skeptical at first, once Oliver saw a photo of Mindy, he was all in. More than Mindy could have ever dreamed up in her own imagination, Oliver is handsome, wealthy, smart, funny and charming, not to mention panty-melting sexy. She tries to set some ground rules for their week-long sham engagement, but it's quickly made clear that following rules does not interest Oliver in the least.
Their chemistry is absolutely electric from the first innocent touch. As the week progresses it becomes harder and harder for Mindy to keep her distance. Oliver is not only charming her entire family, but he's also charming Mindy. The lines between what's fake and what's real, start to get very blurred. Their bodies are very on board with the intimate developments of their relationship, but it's when the hearts start getting involved that it gets really real.
Will Mindy and Oliver be able to keep up the ruse until the end of the week? Will they be able to walk away from each other after starting to have genuine feelings for each other? There's so much potential for hurt feelings and broken hearts, but what if it could actually work? It could be forever kind of love that Mindy's been looking for.
This was the perfect romantic comedy. Funny, sexy and witty with a touch of angst and a beautiful happy ending. I absolutely loved this book!
