Derren Brown Unauthorised Theories, Methods and Secrets

Rate this book
Updated to include the new theatre show, 'Derren Underground' (known as 'Secret On Broadway' in the USA), as well as the latest TV special, 'Miracle' as seen on Netflix. This unauthorised book offers a revealing insight into the creation and design of large scale magic and mentalism performances. With a detailed breakdown of each of Derren Brown's theatre shows (Something Wicked This Way Comes, Evening of Wonders, Enigma, Svengali, Infamous, Miracle, Secret and Underground), performance is explained, dissected and thoroughly examined. Every show is discussed in detail and the book can be read whilst watching shows on Derren's YouTube channel, or DVD. This book is an educational review of these works, with the aim of teaching magicians and performers the importance of showmanship, presentation and creativity, helping the reader to use these insights in the creation of their own magic routines. Any magician can learn from the best, and in this field there is no-one that compares to Derren Brown. His live work is phenomenal and through studying his work we can take the art of magic to new heights.

Really fascinating read

I bought this book on a whim and loved it. The author does an amazing job explaining tricks in a way that is clear and his love of the art form shows through. Please Write another book!

Very clear and well written. Derren Brown is probably the best mental magician ever and Steve explains well not only how he does his shows but also the philosophy behind magic, which is not about the effect itself but how it is presented and performed.

Very interesting

I enjoyed this book. I did feel I was cheating my favourite performer but found it has ignited a greater respect for the act as a whole
