La relation amoureuse de Mackenzie progresse tout doucement avec l'Agent Ellington avec un incroyable mélange de la belle romance et de la concentration sur leurs enquêtes ♥️♥️
I really like this authors books. I've read many of her other series and they have all been really good. She does one thing in a lot of her books that drives me crazy but I've notices in some of her she's getting better at not using these crutches which I'll tell you about shortly :)
In just about every book, in every series she writes. The main character is an FBI agent or a profiler of some kind something with the FBI but she always has a superior person she reports to and in every book the superior questions everything the female agent does or he will assign another more experienced agent, usually a man, to be her partner. The superior will assign the case to them and if the case isn't solved in a ridiculous short amount of time (like 24 to 48 hours) they will be taken off the case. I'm so tired of this story line. The MC will go to the hotel room and pack her bags but then she has this sudden burst of realization of who it is and without calling her partner or the big boss she will rush off alone and no backup to the person's house she thinks is the killer. It makes me crazy because you know in real life this would never happen. She would be fired or put on desk duty indefinitely if she had pulled that impulsive mood IRL. This is a situation that seems to happen in ever book I read of hers. Sometimes she skips it and I love when she does but the next book it will have this same scenario and it's old and I think it's this authors crutch. It's fluff to bulk up the book or something but it's annoying. If she keeps writing with this crutch I can't ever give her books 5 star ratings.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely!!! No matter what she write a great mystery
For some reason I feel like the crimes are especially bad this time around. Being killed is always bad, but because the victims are blind it seems so much worse. I also hate that it seems like the victims know who is killing them, which probably makes them feel a bit safe.
It seems like for this whole book Mac and Ellington were just running around chasing info. Sort of boring. Then when they get to the bad guy he cracks right away.
It's a good thing that there was more interesting things with Mac and Ellington's personal relationship. I loved how each of them were surprised by a question from their boss and his reaction. I loved Ellington's question for Mac, thought her response was a good one, but Ellington's reaction not so much. It's a good thing that by the end they seemed to have worked things out.
I'm more intrigued by what Mac found at the end on her car. It sort of makes we wonder if someone is monitoring what Mac knows within the FBI.

This is the 6th Blake pierce book I have read. All 6 being in the Mackenzie white series. So far they are ok. A familiar theme seems to run through each book. The main character, Mackenzie White seems to run her own race in every book. She does not follow rules and ignores superiors. She has only been in the FBI for 5 minutes but seems to run all cases even though she is partnered with agents who have been in the job a lot longer. She alway runs off on her own and finds and arrests the baddies by herself. This does not happen in real life. Every book she get badly assaulted by the baddies and loses her gun. I’ve never read or seen anything like it before. All 6 books so far she is attacked, injured and loses her gun. What a bad FBI agent. She should have been sacked in book one. I’m just hoping the theme of the next few books changes or I am giving up.
I really enjoyed the twists and turns in this book, the characters are easy to relate to and I enjoy how their relationships develop through the books. You really can empathise with trying to do you best at your job and still make time for a personal life. You are genuinely rooting for them to catch the bad guy. I enjoyed the unusual storyline of this book and look forward to more in the series
Slow moving with an anticlimactic ending. Many typos. The more I read in this series, the less interesting they get. Yet, the author is wise. He had left one story line that I’m sure won’t be concluded until the last book. So, I continue following Mackenzie white. After all, I’ve invested this much time in her already. My advice, stop afternoon one
These books are incredibly addictive and as you can see from my reading list, I am reading them at the rate of knots. I have been devouring this series and every other series this author has written. What I will note, is that the books seem to be getting shorter at the same price point and the editing leaves a lot to be desired. However, the stories just bring me back for more and more and more.
Very good book, you will totally enjoy the search for a killer of blind people. Another great read by Blake Pierce. I love her books, and I say this after having read over 50 of them so far. I have tried other authors of the same genre, but some are triggering to me, these books aren't.
I don't know anyone can write books that you just can't put down once you start. These books grab you on a visceral level and don't turn you loose until the last word.
I have read all 6 books in a matter of a couple of weeks because their so good I can't put them down. I'm reading until the early hours. I've enjoyed this book just like the others and can't wait to start book 7
This book mad you wonder if the killing of blind people is someone's savings grace or just plan evil. This is one that leads Mackenzie and Ellington on a merry chase all over Virginia.
I really enjoy this series. However this book was quite repetitive. We all know that she's going to get a case and solve it and that shocker her dad's case still haunts her. I'm hoping the next installment has some fresh material.
I have got hooked on the character of Blake Pierce, but the cost of his books are going up it seems. Since his books are only around 200 pages long I'm no longer willing to spend nearly as much on them as I would a full length novel.
3...Still waiting on closure on Mac's dad, I mean a teaser...dragging it out! Granted the crimes were bad this time around it didn't seem to pack as much of a punch for me...Still enjoying the series though!
Mackenzie is handed a case in which someone is killing blind people exclusively over a large part of the state of Virginia. I like the series and will continue to read them, but I don't think the quality of the stories is as good as the Riley Paige series.
Absolutely amazing!!! This was quite an unique case and once again Mackenzie didn't leave any stones unturned. She is brilliant in her own natural way.
