This collection showcases the new and landmark poems of one of India's most prolific litterateurs. K. Satchidanandan's oeuvre is marked by a keen awareness of his roots and an endearing intimacy with nature, for he grew up talking to cats and crows and trees, gods and spirits; the wind, rain and soil are his limbs, voice and soul. And yet, from this sensibility arise too poems which are global in their concerns and hide in their wake the many-layered realities of the ever-changing world around us.

Satchidanandan writes beautiful poems. His words are full of wonder and inquiry. Often he starts the poem on a particular note and subverts his thoughts, or ends it on an interesting place. There is also a lot of compassion and tenderness in the subject matter. Satchidanandan cares a lot about the space of women, the problems of this earth, and he finds his own way of addressing it.

Easy yet deep - is what could be said to define Satchidanandan's poems. This collection holds some great poems. When we listen a song and feel like ' oh I can also sing this with equal brilliance ' but when we do the singing we understand our incapability, Satchidanandan's poems are of these kind. He is people's poet - deep feelings contained inside the simple looking human body.
