Another great read

I love this series! I can't believe that each book just gets better but it does! The mystery surrounding the paranormal activity is always intriguing, but the ongoing story of Kylie is fantastic. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. Another great book provided by my kindle unlimited subscription.

The Gulf Coast Paranormal series is ghost story telling at it's best. Each book in the series keeps getting spookier. The Ghost Queen will send shivers up your spine and keep you guessing. The subplot of Cassidy's sister takes an exciting turn in this book. Like I said this book is not only scary but also heartbreakingly tragic.

2.5 stars This is the fourth book in the Gulf Paranormal series. While I enjoyed it, it wasn't as good as the first three. The ghost story was a bit anticlimactic. I felt like there was a little too much personal drama going on with the team I also the narrator didn't differentiate between the female voices enough, so it was often hard to tell whose perspective I was getting. I'll probably still read the next book.

Gulf Coast Paranormal is called in to help when a guest on a haunted cemetery tour is found hanging in a tree. Prior to them getting the call, however, Cassidy went into a painting frenzy inspired by a psychic vision. What she painted was the long-dead voodoo queen, Ettawa Maybee, along with GCP member, Josh. Through her visions, Cassidy realizes that Josh looks remarkably like Quincy Justice, Ettawa's former lover, the father of her beloved son, and the man who did her wrong. Unable to enter the hallowed grounds of the cemetery in search of her son, Ettawa is determined to wreak vengeance on anyone who crosses her path. Cassidy warns Josh of her vision, but he has real world problems--he and his wife, Sierra (another GCP member) are separated, perhaps for good. In the meantime, Cassidy has distanced herself from Midas, the leader of GCP, after he gave her some information in the search for her sister that upset her. Cassidy knows Midas isn't to blame for Kylie's disappearance or for the unwelcome information, but she can't face him right now. With a team comprised of two couples on the outs, it's going to take a lot of work for GCP to face down the ghost of a voodoo queen and emerge from the cemetery unscathed.

The story was creepy--just right for Halloween season. Characters were three-dimensional, even Ettawa, whom we learned about from snippets of the last few days of her life. She may have been the villain in the story, but one couldn't help but sympathize for her and her plight. It was heartbreaking to see how Josh and Sierra tiptoed around one another, still clearly in love but both of them hurting. The resolution was satisfying, although the plot leading up to it was more frightening than the ending was.

Very good, eerie, and emotional. Four stars.

The danger continues to grow. This time, Cassidy’s painting reveals that Joshua, one of the members of the Gulf Coast Paranormal team, is in great danger. Unfortunately, Joshua and his wife Sierra, have just split up and Joshua isn’t interested in listening to his former teammates. The ghost of an old Voodoo Queen is out for vengeance for a personal betrayal and the loss of her child and she has world altering power to help her achieve it.

Meanwhile, the Gulf Coast Paranormal team is continuing to fragment. Not only are Joshua and Sierra breaking up, but there’s a breach between Cassidy and Midas as well. All of this drama brings a lot of painful emotion with the team into the ghost hunting, which empowers the spirits to cause harm in our world.

The set up for this series continues to really work for me. I’m looking forward to the next book.

I really liked this book. I do find it interesting how M.L. Bullocks has more than just a spooky scare and this book. Without giving anything away unfortunately I am glad that there were more deeper elements than just being scared. I really didn't mind the drama with the team members, I think it is in an attempt to further create the characters. My only real complaint is that the book could be longer and that the percentage done does not necessarily factor into actually how far you are in the book. When it gets to about 87% the book is done. I feel like there could be more of an ending rather than everyone rides off into the sunset.

Love this series

So I am a fan of ML Bullock's other work - Seven Sisters - Idlewild but I have to say I'm really enjoying this series - I started less that 9 hours ago & just finished this book & intend to keep ready - sleep be damned! The only thing is her female characters are a bit of drama queens. They are smart, gifted, talented, & strong women who just constantly feel the slightest little of problem in a relationship is doom. Otherwise - love her work.

This is a very interesting series!

I'm enjoying this series very much! It gets intense to the point I have to keep reading to find out what's going to happen. I've read or am reading many of M.L. Bulllock's series and they're all fascinating. Each book has a great paranormal storyline and very interesting characters. I'm definitely going to be reading as much as I can by this author.

Exciting!

As an aficionado of the macabre, this book was right up my alley. I believe that when we die, we lay down only our bodies, cos our energy lives forever. This author is new to me, but writes well using good grammar and spelling, and that's a big thing with me I look forward to reading more of her writing and enjoying the complexities she weaves into her narrative!

OMG! These books keep getting better an d better! Definitely worth losing sleep over.

Still looking for the tv series. This writer is the most creative writer I've read in a long time. The books are short and are one paranormal event at a time. I don't think I could take any more.

The Legend of the Ghost Queen Proved More Formidable

The paranormal investigation was quite good, but the twenty-something drama bordered on unbelievable. Really?!? It’s necessary?? Because it’s certainly not entertaining! Ill read the next in the series because the paranormal is good. But that’s the only reason….

Three and half stars. Would have been four but it's a bit too soap opera-esque for me. I love the ghosts and the backstories are vibrant and well described. I just don't care for the in-team drama and relationship tension. Still a fun read.

Another winner kind of

The story was interesting but so much drama between the characters was kind of a let down. I enjoyed the ghosty part though. Not my favorite book in the series so far though

This book is the 4th in the series. It is not unusual for me to drop a series after 3 or 4 books. These short reads, or in my case-short listens, are well-written (read) and beguiling. And no....it isn't just a ghost story....there is more to the characters than that.

These are good paranormal mysteries but they need to be fleshed out a bit. More backstory and personalization on the characters, more research into the ghosts, and a more complicated removal of the ghosts. It all feels too curtly done.

Cemetary voodoo and ghosts of past

This book storyline is one of the best. Step back into the 1800s to meet Queen Ettawaa. You will stay up late to get to the end.
