I adore Hot Dog and his friends as much as I cherish Weir Do and his besties.
Great fun to listen to while doing the housework.

Listened to the audiobook via BookBeat UK!
After my joyful experiences listening to the audiobook for book one in this series, I picked up this second book straight away and it was just as fun. We are reunited again with main characters Hot Dog (sausage dog) Kevin (cat) and Lizzie (Chameleon) as they all come together for a celebration as it is Kevin's birthday. However, the partying is under threat when two uninvited guests show up and plan to steal the main present for Kevin. I was laughing a lot, great distraction from everything going on at this time. I look forward to the rest of the series when I can grab copies of them!

The fun continues when Hot Dog and Lizzie surprise Kev with a birthday party. Two new characters almost spoil the joy but are outwitted in the end. Plenty of humor for mid-elementary level readers. The illustrations support the fun and clearly show each character's emotions.

Quiero contarles un poco de uno de los libros que leímos ayer mis hijas y yo, se trata de Las aventuras de Hot dog ¡bienvenidos a la fiesta!

Los personajes son muy lindos y su amistad es muy especial, a mis hijas les encantaron y yo disfruté junto con ellas las aventuras tan divertidas por las que tuvo que pasar este trío de amigos.⠀

Hot Dog #2 Party Time is a superb book about a sausage dog who never gives up AND a colour changing lizard and together they try to save the 'laziest animal in the world's' surprise party from a frustrated rooster and a sneaky donkey. The 6.5 year old boy is dying over this series. It's his "new favorite" and has pushed both Dogman and Captain Underpants out of the running of the most important bedtime book for us to read. That's impressive!

So it looks like we're reading all of these in order next (after finishing the Wimpy Kid books). My 8 yr old son enjoys them, they're inoffensive and occasionally amusing and anything is better than Greg. The series skews young but it's nicely handled and he likes reading them himself outside of the bedtime schedule.

Trying to organise Kev's surprise party on the day of when a present is still to be bought with only one left on the shelf causing an added trouble Lizzie and Hotdog will do their best to make sure Kev has a great birthday.

The wiener dog and the chameleon throw a surprise birthday party for the large cat. I read this to my daughter for bedtime last night, and I already don't remember any of the names. But how they thwarted the thieves was funny 🤣

Stilul haios al autorului este inconfundabil și de aceea este și pe lista autorilor favoriți a lui Damian. Anh Do știe să presare haz peste situații, să le facă amuzante, să stârnească curiozitatea și râsul copiilor.
O carte despre diversitatea prieteniei, caracteristicile individuale ale protagonistilor, atât de diferiți și totuși atât de perfecți împreună.
Volumul al doilea este despre ziua de naștere a motanului Kev, așa că cei mai buni prieteni ai săi, șopârlița Lizzie și câinele Hotdog, îi pregătesc o petrecere surpriză. Au multe bunătăți, jocuri și alte lucruri distractive, dar singurul lucru care lipsește este cadoul perfect. Pentru că l-au tot lăsat deoparte pe Kev, asta pentru a putea organiza super petrecerea, de data aceasta îl iau cu ei la cumpărături și reușesc să ascundă cadoul perfect, anume o bicicletă -dinozaur.
Dar se pare că nu erau singurii care își doreau achizitia ultimei biciclete, iar faptul că au rămas fără obiectul mult dorit, îi determină pe măgar și pe cocoș să-i urmărească pe cei trei prieteni și să încerce să le fure cadoul.
Ce credeți, or să reușească să strice petrecerea surpriză? O să rămână Kev fără bicicleta mult dorită?
Vă invităm la "petrecere " și să vă aduceți șervețele, se râde cu lacrimi...popcorn-ul este din partea casei, finalul cărții este exploziv.

Another book Tilly picked, from comic Anh Do. We started on the 2nd book in the series but didn’t seem to matter. Tilly found it really funny and we read non-stop on the train to the city. She loved it, I was hoping for more comedy but was also a fun quick read!
