“Nothing gets into my crease, Lucy. I still hold the league shutout record. But you snuck between my legs and now I can’t get you out of my head.” BECKETT Lucy Solomon showed up to watch a hockey game in a luxury box wearing jeans and a hoodie, and she didn't give a puck who I was. Now the hotter it gets between us the better my team does on the ice, and I'm getting superstitious. I'm not skating around my feelings--I want to win the playoffs, and I want Lucy, but something's gotta give.
LUCY After being in a grad school cave for two years, it made sense that I'd be drawn to a Neanderthal. I melted for Beckett Hallstrom's brazen moves and boyish charm when we first met, but things exploded when I found out who he really was. Beck wants me to be his good luck charm, but the press is relentless and now my career is in jeopardy. Every competition has a loser and I'm afraid it's going to be me losing my heart.
THE SIN BIN is a fast and feverish standalone sports romance novella, where high sticking is totally allowed.
Wow what a fun, sexy and short read this beauty was. It might be a short read but it sure does pack a punch and I damn well loved it.
Lucy is shy and lacks confidence after locking herself up to study for so long she lost contact with the outside world until her brother drags her to a hockey game.
Beck is a former hockey player (goalie) after being put out with an injury he’s managing the team. His superstitious ways are about to get him in trouble with the lady that made his heart skip a beat and watching how he rests is down right interesting, I love his reactions, his thoughts, his everything hah!
Lucy and Beck were simply amazing, I loved their storyline and desperately want more. I loved how easy conversation was for them. Hah. Everything was fab!
This was my first read by Nikky Kaye and definitely won’t be my last.
Nikky Kaye scores with THE SIN BIN. Former goalie Beckett “Crease” Hallstrom finds his lucky charm in local college student, Lucy Solomon, who is getting her Masters in Library Science. He just needs to convince her to stick around during the rest of the playoffs. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult audiences.
I like that Beck and Lucy both act out of character when they are around each other. They have great chemistry. I found Beck’s cheesiness amusing. Their relationship moves quickly, but it feels believable.
Being a hockey fan, I appreciate the superstition behind Beck’s and Lucy’s relationship. I thought that concept was an interesting story line.
At 130-pages, THE SIN BIN is a quick read. This is the first book that I have read by Nikky Kaye. The story is skillfully written and flows well. I wouldn’t mind seeing this book turn into a series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I just love the way Nikky Kaye writes! Her first sports romance novella is a great example of how she blends humor, romance & HOT action to bring a believable story that doesn’t read like a smut-a-thon. In this book we meet Lucy Solomon a grad student working on her library science thesis for her master’s degree & Beckett ‘Crease’ Hallstrom a former star hockey goaltender who has been prenatally side-lined due to an injury. The two meet during the first round of the Stanley Cup finals while occupying a luxury box for the visiting team. It doesn’t take long for thing to heat between the two of them. Crease is convinced Lucy is his ‘good luck’ charm & it starts a tabloid frenzy making Lucy the villain in her college town. It is a fun read with these two trying to make the most of a long distance relationship, grad school & hockey playoffs. Nikky has a way of writing that sucks you into the story & lets you live the lives she is writing about. I would recommend this books to anyone especially those who like hockey romance. This book is meant for mature readers.
If you want another hot sexy BBF Beckett is it. I loved this story and Beckett and Lucy is so seductive with all the hot sex. They can't get enough of each other, nor can they stay away from each other. Lucy is the sister of the hockey team and she is at her first game, watching from the VIP box. Beckett sees a beautiful girl and can't take his eyes off of her. He approaches her, they talk and the attraction is there building. Lucy leaves the box to use the restroom and when she opens the door to leave she's pushed back into the room and the door slams.......
Talk about the most sexy, hot, wet panty melting, and you just swoon when you read this one. I loved and enjoyed read this one.
The title was just to enticing to pass up and the cover ....Sigh 😏.
Yeah...The author has quite a way with words. She gives us a bit of steamy, forbidden, comical, and some of the best leading characters ever. The story is not just a romance or erotica it is actually a story that will pull you in and have you reading well into the evening. One day is all it took for me to read this and honestly I can't wait to the release of her next book. Hockey is never been my thing but after reading this I might consider adding it to my list of must-reads.
I have graciously received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review
Oh man! Another shocker for me because I do not usually read books that have to do with sports. Lucky for me this was not overly done. It had sports in it, but it was not completely about sports, so thankfully it did not completely turn me off. This was the first time for me reading anything by Nikky Kaye and will for sure not be my last. Kaye's writing style just brings you in to the point that you feel as if you are part of the scene with the characters. Now with the type of scenes she was writing that makes everything just splendid!
The story centers around a Lucy Solomon a grad student who literally runs in to Beckett "Crease" Hallstrom while attending a hockey game with her brother who also happens to work as the doctor for Beckett's team. The chemistry between these two is instant and leads them on a whirlwind romance. Things are seriously not easy for these two, mostly because they both live in different areas, but you cannot have a relationship with a famous ex-hockey player and everyone not be in your business.
Kaye found a very nice balance for us between a slow burn romance and the steamy erotica style that we are used to in this type of story. We are treated the sexy steam as promised, but we also get to see the normal and tender moments between these two that could have naturally occurred in real life. Lucy also has backbone, which most authors tend to leave out. She is not willing to cave her hopes and dreams just for her sexy ex-hockey player. Beckett also is a dominating figure in their relationship, but he allows Lucy to be her own person and follow her hopes and dreams for the future. However, once these two enter the bedroom all bets are off.
I could say the one complaint is that the story just ends. Yes we discover that Lucy graduates from grad school and moves in with Beckett, but that is what we all expected while reading the novella. I would have loved to know how their relationship progressed after they moved in together. I understand that this was written as a novella, but one more epilogue in either one of the character's perspective would have wrapped the story up perfectly for us.
Kaye did and amazing job! This is a quick steamy read with a lot of heart, just what this blogger was looking for. I fell in love with Kaye's writing style and all of these characters. I am very sad to see them go. I will definitely recommend this to everyone I can think of.
The Sin Bin was the perfect little hockey fix that this book whore needed. It was a quick, sexy and funny read. If you know anything about hockey players, hell even hockey fans we have superstitions, and this is even more so during playoff time. If you are a hockey fan you know what I mean, if you aren’t a hockey fan then well, I will just say trust me on this. This is also an insta love type of read which personally I enjoy a lot.
Beck and Lucy have some smoking hot chemistry. From the very start you could tell that this was gonna be one of those books that you wished would be longer just to get more of the characters. Beck may no longer be playing hockey but is part of the team so those superstitions he had while playing are still very much so now that he isn’t. Lucy, Beck feels is his good luck charm but he also feels a lot more than that. I liked Beck and I liked Lucy. She was quirky yet relatable and cute.
The Sin Bin is a book that I really enjoyed and one I can easily recommend. Now only if my favorite hockey player would think I was his lucky charm then this book whore would be in heaven, sorry hubby but you know if that happens just know I loved you lol.
Another quick, hot, amusing novella from Kaye who is in pole position as my favourite humorous erotic romance author. Her books never fail to put a smile on my face, and always leave me hot and bothered. Touted as a sports novella, more of the book was set behind the ice hockey scenes, than on the ice. Beckett and Lucy's chemistry lit up the pages and the sex scenes positively sizzled. As ever though, not being a huge fan of instal-love, I really need a full length novel from Kaye, adding in some real character growth and depth, to elevate my rating from a 4 to a 5 star. I'd recommend this author's work though to anyone who likes their steam with a side serving of humour - satisfaction is guaranteed!
27 year old grad student Lucy is dragged to a hockey game with her brother the team doctor to please their mother,so she can see them in the team box and on tv. Little did Lucy know her life was going to get exciting. Beckett "Crease" Hallstrom didn't expect to find someone as interesting as Lucy in the team box. He's intrigued and he wants her. After some unabashed flirting and a trip to the restroom Lucy and Beck can't keep their hands to themselfs. Winning is on Becks mind and scoring on the ice and off .Becks feels that Lucy is his lucky charm and so do the press and fan's. Will the pressure be to much for them both or will they win the game
Sexy and steamy Hockey romance. Sin Bin is fast paced and there’s an instant connection between these two. Beckett takes charge from the first time he sees Lucy. He’ll make sure he gives her what she craves from only him to make her his. Lucy has never been the girl that stands out but Beckett is making her come out of her shell just by the way he looks at her. She’s becoming Beck’s good luck charm and now they need to figure out if that’s all she is to him.
Nikky Kaye guarantees alpha, handsome, sexy men who go after the women they want and Sin Bin is no exception. Great one sitting, leaves you feeling good book to relax and escape from life.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novella and couldn't get enough of it. It is very well written and flows really well and omg does it hook you in from the very beginning. Lucy and Beck have a passion that everyone craves in life it's hot as hell but so sweet too. If all hockey games were like this I'd be signing up for being a massive fan. These two have a magnetic pull that can't be denied and as a reader it pulls you in two. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book even though sometimes I thought that Beck had had 1 too many pucks to the head. I recommend you one click it straight away. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Lucy Solomon has been a hermit while working on her Masters degree. Her brother is in the area helping out a hockey team during an away game and invites Lucy along. She is drastically underdressed for the team suite but hadn't a clue since she knows nothing of hockey or sports in general. She also has no idea who the sexy man is that starts talking to her. She's close to graduating and there is a hot guy taking interest in her so...why not go with the flow?
Lucy's completely clueless about hockey, she meets Beck at a game she's forced to attend with her brother. The connection is instant and smoking hot! He turns her into this hot, sexy siren and she loves it. Beck is all alpha, a big hulk of a man who sweeps Lucy straight of her feet and straight into the sack. There's really good chemistry and lots of laughs. It's a fun, quick read and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Highly entertaining with a bit of a sports theme but not over the top. Really enjoyed this one. Fun characters and a hot story line. Made for a read that kept my attention right through to the end! Would have loved to see an epilogue though - would have made for a perfect read.
Looking forward to the next book from this author.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Beckett is a sexy ex hockey player, who believes that shy grad student Lucy is his team’s lucky charm. I loved the passion and chemistry between these two. This is a highly entertaining, light-hearted, short and fun read. This author has done an amazing job with this story, which is well written and flows effortlessly. I highly recommend this author’s work for all readers. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book!
This book is short, fun and sexy. A sports romance where the two main characters would not normally be put together, but because they are it leads to many fun escapades and enjoyable moments of reading. I wish it was slightly longer but otherwise it ticked all the boxes for a great way to spend a couple of hours of reading
The Sin Bin is a quick, fun, sexy read. I really enjoyed this novella. The chemistry between Beckett and Lucy is hot and steamy. The interesting part is Lucy is not a hockey fan and has no idea who Beckett is when she meets him. This book grabbed me and pulled me in from the beginning, and did not let go until the end. I recommend this book to everyone even if you are not a fan of Sports Romance you will enjoy this book.
Quick read about a girl who knows nothing about hockey, goes to a game with her brother who is the teams physician. She meets former all star goalie who's career ended early due to injury, and he's helping coach the visiting team. When they meet sparks fly! Beck & Lucy heat up the sheet's, and the bathroom!! 4 stars for this well written book, grab a copy today!
The Sin Bin was a sexy, fun read about an ex hockey player Beckett and what he believes is his lucky charm Lucy. Everyone knows that athletes have superstitions and when things go right with Lucy around, Beckett thinks its all about her. With all of the sexy times mixed in with awesome banter you forget there is a hockey game being played. Emotions run high and when the lucky charm turns into more its time for Beckett to score.
I loved the chemistry/passion between the Beckett and Lucy. It was made better by Lucy not knowing anything about him. It added humor, and let Beckett know she was in to him and not his fame. Their was one thing I was confused about, and it might be a slight spoiler. Overall I liked the book and would recommend it.
This is a fun short sexy read about an ex hockey player who thinks his lucky charm is Lucy. The book is charming and the interactions are sexy and interesting. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
The Sin Bin by Nikky Kaye a sinning five-star read. This is a Sports Romance Novella and what a short!! Its short but packs a powerful punch. This was a great story, it was hot and fun and full of great steam. I would happily pay to be put in the sin bin with a certain ex-hockey player!!
Quick, fun, sexy read! 3.5 Stars I was given an ARC of Sin Bin in exchange for my unbiased review. I enjoyed this light-hearted, short, “sinfully” sexy read. This was a sports hero romance with some enjoyable twists. Lucy, our heroine, is a grad student, woefully unaware and unknowledgeable about sports. She is a little naïve and shy, a bit of a bookworm but she is not a virgin nor is she sexually shy or submissive. Her sexual experience may be more limited than our Hero, but this is not a typical shy schoolgirl virgin meets worldly man-whore jock story. Because Lucy is more balanced in this way the relationship and story felt more real or as real as insta-lust turned insta-love can be, and Lucy is a strong heroine in her own right. Beckett (or Beck or Crease as he is known) is a former star hockey player now turned hockey back office bigwig. Beck brings with him all the superstitions of a former player and those superstitions lead Beck to think Lucy (and the number of orgasms he can give her) is the key to his team winning the play-offs. The combination of miscommunication especially as Lucy feels used (will not say more to avoid spoilers), paparazzi, and Lucy’s strength of character not to subjugate her own career, schooling, or needs to Beck’s create just enough tension and drama make their story a story worth following. Nikky does a great job giving us sexy exploits that don’t feel gratuitous, fun banter and adult characters. . My biggest complaint is it just kind of ended and I feel there could and should have been more. The chemistry worked despite the pair’s differences. The Sin Bin is an easy “adult” romance read and a quick way to get a romance story fix.
It could have been the hot AF cover that got me...maybe the title...but regardless I am so glad I read The Sin Bin by Nikky Kaye.
I connected to these two main characters from the very start! A strong determined woman and a man who knew what he wanted...and when Beckett met Luce - he wanted her unequivocally!
There was just something about the way this book was written...I was easily able to lose myself in this story.
It may have been a shorter book but it felt like there was so much more to it than the number of pages!
There was something between Beck and Lucy that drew me into their story so easily...it was like a slow burn balanced with an insta-attraction that was done to perfection!
It may have been my first Nikky Kaye book but it for sure wont be my last!
5 stars this sinfully sexy read!
If you are looking for a quick, provocative, entertaining read with a bit of sport thrown in for fun, then Nikky Kaye has just want you need.
The Sin Bin is seductive little read about Beckett and Lucy and their enchanting love story.
Beck and Lucy have a connection right from the start and intensify the longer they spend together. When Beck turns on the charm, you better prepare to swoon like no other. All the deliciously naughty things he whispers in your ear will have your knees buckling and panties melting.
Lucy is a feisty, witty, independent lady that isn't afraid to stand up for herself. I love that she throws caution to the wind and takes a chance on Beck. She sees the man behind his media persona.
I love Nikky's naughty books and The Sin Bin is exactly what I've come to expect from her. I love the heat, drama, anticipation, and passion contained within the pages.
I would recommend The Sin Bin to anyone who needs a little something titillating after a long hard day.
Whoa boy howdy was this hot! I might need some ice to calm down.
This was a fun story. When masters student, Lucy, follows her brother to game one of the nhl playoffs, she never expected to fall headfirst into the arms of the famous former goalie turned manager, Beck. The sex is steamy and fun. And I adored the hero. He's the kind of alpha male that I love. Intelligent, focused, and self-aware. He knows what he wants and he goes after it, but he doesn't take. He waits for permission. Which is sexy as all hell.
I loved his description as not conventionally attractive. And as a hockey fan, I appreciated both the descriptions of the game and the fact that the author understood that not everyone would get the references.
The Sin Bin is a story about a former hockey player who is still involved with his team and the sister of the team neurologist, who is a book nerd and far from a hockey fan. What ensues between the two is an intense sexual relationship that benefits both and perhaps that Beck believes is slightly superstitious, or when Lucy actually orgasms is superstitious.
This story is a quick read that is full of sex anywhere and everywhere you can imagine. Unfortunately I thought I would be reading a little more hockey and a little less sex, but the book was still an enjoyable quick read.
Lucy is a grad student who has had her head in the books for the last couple years. She decides to go to a hockey game with her brother, who is the team dr. While in the sky box way underdressed she meets a giant of a man who she can't help be attracted to. Beck is an ex hockey player who is still invested in his team and comes to think Lucy is his good luck charm. Every time they have sex his team wins and he ends us taking it a lil too far. This was a really good short read. Steamy, sexy, and sweet. Loved it.
This was the first book that I have read from Nikky Kaye and I was pleasantly surprised! The Sin Bin is about a retired hockey goalie, turned front office exec (Beck) and a book worm (Lucy)that he fell completely in love with! The story is quick and the hotness factor is off the charts.
Beck has some moments where he put hockey superstition before Lucy's feelings, but he quickly came to his senses, saw what he was doing and fixed it.
I highly recommend The Sin Bin to anyone looking for a quick, steamy read!
Hockey player, famous and not looking to be hitched. Then he meets Lucy, enticing from the beginning. A woman that has gotten past his walls, past his crease. A woman that he is quickly addicted to. Problem? Yeah, she doesn't know who he is. She is the sister of the team doc. She is going to get run over by the media if the catch wind. A fun and fast paced read of insta heat and then love. Beckett and Lucy are going to win your hearts!
