TRUE NOBILITY From the moment he knew he wanted to be a musician, Mason Maxwell decided he would go it on his own, even if his old man—Hollywood royalty—was famous enough to buy him his own record label. Mace’s career has taken off, and at twenty-two, with the backing of RiffRaff Records, he’s living the dream. But mid-tour he's pulled back home, and there’s only one person who can keep the nightmare from swallowing him whole. Payton Adkins is everything he's not - responsible, caring, an adult. He's beyond grateful for her help, and she's perfect, and beautiful, and special. But she's always known love is out of the question for a man like Mace. Which means Payton won't be his. Unless a spoiled prince who has redefined bad boy learns to become a real good man.

I live in Austin, Texas with my husband, daughter, 3 rescue dogs, 1 cat, and one bunny (that doesn't seem to like us). I love reading romance novels as much as I love writing them. I feel like inspiration can come from anywhere; a song lyric, a quote, a weekend with friends. The tiniest things can spark amazing stories.

The book went in a whole different direction than I expected. It was definitely gut wrenching at times and I love that about a book..feel so deeply for the characters. Read the devils share books first...well you don’t have to but there’s a little backstory since it’s a spin off.

This isnt technically a single dad book, but I'm going to call it one. Up and coming rockstar Mason goes from future brother to primary caregiver to his newborn sister after the sudden deaths of his dad and stepmother.

I liked this story, but a few things bothered me. I dont like that after the first time Payton and Mason had sex, she wasnt with anyone else, but he was. They were just friends so I hate that she didnt at least date. After the second time they were together, they were both celibate, but he was clearly pulling away, and she still didnt date. It just seemed like she was super hung up on him, and I wish she had at least tried. Mason is difficult to love but he came around for me. Some of his problems come from the fact that his dad was more of a friend instead of a father for the first fifteen years of his life, until his father got married. He needed to do some growing up and went about it the long way. Two of Payton's brothers play a large role in this book. They pass a lot of judgment on Mason but they honestly dont seem much better.

Overall the story was pretty good. I'd recommend it to certain readers.

It was my 1st book by this author.

Nice written. Very likable sweet heroine.
Cliché rock-star-hero (alcohol, groupies etc.)

I didn’t like that he wasn’t celibate after their 1st time together. Ok, they agreed to be friends, but still. It ruined his character for me. And that fact that he told her all about his groupies was a bit disturbing for my liking. Maybe it’s just my romantic-bubble and my understanding of true love. But again, he was only 22, and actually acted according to his age, as a man-child.

Nevertheless the message of the book was a good one. I loved the baby, and the heroine was a saint!

My heart broke as he lost his parents. I loved how he cared for his sister and hated how he abandoned her and the h when he prolonged his tour.
It was a good sign that he didn’t sleep with any OWs during their second separation.
But he hurt the heroine with his immature and cruel behavior.

The best part of the book was the groveling. Real, nice, long and painful groveling.
It saved the whole story for me!
I floved that the h didn’t forgive him immediately.
I floved that she made him work for that.
A very rare occasion in the romance lately.

Cute epilogue.

Excellent story of a young rockstar who has the world at his feet, a one night stand kinda
guy adoring parents doing what he loves. All that changes in a blink of an eye. Mason Maxwell has to grow up and fast when a heart wrenching tragedy forces him to rethink his life. Payton was the one night stand that became his best friend and rock
helping him cope with his new reality. I love the way LP Maxa writes relationships, you really understand what the characters are going through and even though I wanted to
smack Mason (go Lexie!!) you understand the fears of this young man. Payton's brothers were a hoot and I wish we'd see them again. Always great getting glimpses of
The Devils Share gang. My one complaint
would be not sharing in that special moment
when Baby Kate called them momma and
dada for the first time, it would have added
to my tissue pile.

First of all can I just say; I LOVE the cover for this book! It looks so pretty on my kindle shelf!
Although this story broke my heart, it soon pieced it back together again. I devoured this book in one sitting and couldn’t put it down once – hence being left bug eyed at 3.30am after finishing this book. No matter what she writes, LP Maxa always has me falling in love with her stories and characters, even if they do have their a**hole moments!

I really tried to hate Mason, but I couldn’t! No matter how many times I tried to hate him, my heart refused to. My heart hurt for Mason and what he went through. At twenty percent into the story I was ugly crying and slightly cursing LP Maxa. But.. I understood it needed to be done. I absouloutly adore Payton. She dropped everything to help Katie and Mason. She didn’t let Katie down when Mason went off the rails, leaving her all alone with the baby. I will admit that I shouted at Mason to open his eyes several times. I wanted to shout at him to realise how much Katie and Payton needed him! I will also admit that I liked that Payton didn’t give in so easily.
Just as I thought my emotions had calmed, LP Maxa through another spanner in the works with that letter off of Masons dad. Cue another round of tears! But as promised this book had a HEA. A HEA that left me satisfied and my heart happy.
I really liked Paxton and Parker; I would love to know more about them. I liked that despite what Mason had done, Paxton decided to help. Also their bond with Katie was adorable!
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and an enjoyable read but get your tissues at the ready! I cannot wait for the next book in this series, I need it now! ← Greedy I know!
One last thing; I loved that Lexi, Jacks, Harlow and Luke had a few small scenes in this book!

This was my first book by this author and the writing was very good. Its available through kindle Unlimited and seems to be a spin off from another of this authors series. There were a few inconsistencies, Mason seems to age from 20 to 22 in 6 months. He is described twice as blond in the book which doesn't match the awesome cover. Its written in alternating pov's.

Mason is a rock star and son of a famous actor. He meets Payton, a co-worker of his step mothers when he plays a local show. They have one night together before he hits the road. He is the king of the one night stand but asks for her number and while on the road they keep in touch. Becoming friends. 5 months later tragedy strikes and his whole life has turned upside down. Peyton is there from the beginning, helping him get through everyday. After a few weeks he is forced to continue his tour and leave home for 6 weeks, this turns into 11 at his choosing. Once he finally comes back home, he has to face the consequences of his actions and try to repair the relationships he left behind. It has a nice epilogue set 5 years in the future and the next book in this series seem to jump years in advance with the children of the Devils Share getting together.

Oh wow! This book slayed me. It took me on an emotional journey that will never leave my brain.

Mason Maxwell seems to have it all. A great family, an awesome career, and all the women he could ever want. Until the unthinkable happens to rip his perfect world apart.

Payton is the good girl. She is a nurse in the NICU and loves her job. When she unexpectedly meets and falls for the man-whore rocker, she fights with herself to keep it platonic after their one night stand. And they are drawn together again in tragedy.

This book took me through all the emotions. The characters were real and multi-dimensional with all the flaws of any real person. There were a lot of laughs in this book. I absolutely LOVED Payton’s brother Pax! There were also a lot of tears and wtf moments. I did like that even though he was a rock star, there was NO CHEATING! I had a hard time putting it down and I can’t recommend it enough.

I can’t wait to read what she has in store for Halen and Beau!

Grab your tissue

When I knew Mason book was coming I was super excited. I was getting another rocker book and would reconnect with my babies from The Devil's Share. What I wasn't prepared for was the hurt and anguish that came with tell Mason story.

The emotions that kept me up at night but also had me wishing to cuddle and hold him. Play the role in which Payton did and be his friend. Lord knows that he pulled at everyone's heart. Mason oh my Mason... You have a job to do and did what anyone may have done. As water stained my cheeks I hoped that you heard the words from Jacks and Lexi because they were our and from the heart. The slap was need but the love and support from Paxton and Parker is what put this book over the top for me.

Thank you LP Maxa for breaking my heart and putting it back together. Sorry for the late night text but I should be because you were not sorry for the pain and pleasure in which you caused my reading heart.

Devoured it!!!!!

This was an amazing brilliantly written book!! I devoured it in one sitting couldn't put it down. I mean seriously great starter for this new series. And you still get a glimpse of old friends from the original series.
Payton and Mason were meant to be together. One night stand to friendship to more......just dreamy. This book made me ugly cry, laugh, and then have me grinning like a fool. And at one point even wanting to slap Mason the dumba*s upside the head because he ticked me off. When a book can invoke that many emotions just know that the author has done her job well and done it brilliantly.
Now I cannot wait for Halen and Beau's story. Sparks are going to fly, especially considering whom their parents are, and I am so stoked!!!!
Seriously readers check LP Maxa out you will NOT be disappointed.

10 hankies alert !!

I absolutely loved this book! The young carefree rocker whose life is turned upside down by a life altering event story has been told before but, LP Maxa masterfully navigates through Mason and Payton's story with such heart and insight I simply couldn't stop until the final page. There are life lessons highlighted in this book so simple and profound it felt as if the author reached out and touched the sense of loss we all experience at some point in our lives and add little rock roll and you have one well written, heartwarming literary experience. I was a fan before but, now I am a super fan !!!

This is a wonderfully emotional read about a young musician living a carefree existence, whose life changes in the blink of an eye. A gorgeous story of love and devotion, it gave me all the feels. I laughed, I cried and on occasion I wanted to shake Mason to bring him to his senses! At times when he was not afraid to show his vulnerable side my heart broke for him too. What starts out as a one night stand with Payton gradually develops into so much more and I love their friendship, which is perfect and equally sweet and hot.

A beautifully written heartwarming story I don't hesitate to recommend.

I love Mason and Payton. Payton is a god-send and an amazing person inside and out. Mason is a lot like most men who have hard time facing up to their feelings! L.P. shocked me with this book. There were heartbreaking moments so be ready with your tissues! Even though it hurt it was worth it for the book and story. I love her books and this one was no different. It was better in some ways! I have to say that I really do love all the women she writes BUT Payton shot to the top of list with Bryan! Mason is just like the rest of the guys! Great read and I can't wait for me!

This book was so good. While it's a spin off of the Devil's Share books, you don't have to have read them before. It's completely enjoyable as a standalone.

Royalty wasn't what I was expecting at all. It's not your typical "rock star" book. It was so much more. Mason Maxwell hit it big, but when he has his entire world ripped apart, Payton is there to help.

The big surprise? It's how much I loved Payton's brothers Paxton and Parker. They stole the book for me.

I can't wait to see what else RiffRaff records holds in store.

I really enjoyed "Royalty". I enjoy all of L.P. Maxa's books.

The story, as in real life, has it's life altering moments. Just when you think you have it all, Fate decides to throw you a curve. A young (22 year old) immature rockstar is made to look at his life when a tragedy hits. Sometimes saying sorry just doesn't cut it. His girlfriend (???) won't relent and accept his apology. As I read their struggle, it brought to mind something I wrote down a long time ago...."The people who really care won't hurt you. But, if they do you'll see it in their eyes, for they'll be hurting too."

Royalty (RiffRaff Records Book 1) by L.P. Maxa
To me, a great book will do four things. It will make you laugh, cry, want to throw it and at the same time, you can’t let go as you need to know what happens next. Now as for Royalty by LP Maxa she blew me away emotionally. Royalty is fast paced and reads like a movie. I Love the connection of the characters from Maxa’s other series that show up in this book. All the characters were strong and intelligently written. I love reads like this where the uncertain characters become strong and go to any cost to help the ones they love. You need to grab this book today! As I don’t do spoilers but let me tell you You will love to hate to love again Mason and Payton’s journey.

I so wish I had read the Devil's Share series before I started this series so that I could be more familiar with some of the characters.
Mason is a rock star who's father is a movie star. When he gets news about his dad and step mom his life starts spinning out of control. If Payton hadn't been there for him he doesn't know how he would have coped. When things start getting to intimate he runs and leaves Payton to take care of things why he goes back to the rock star life.
Will Mason get his head out of his ass before he loses everything he loves?

I couldn't get "royalty" out of this book. I get that his dad was famous and he was he was famous but the book was so much more than that. It wasn't a difficult or complicated plot. I think the subheadings on the chapters were Katie driven. Maybe book could of been called "Katie".

Mason is not my book boyfriend. I think he may have to grow up some more but he has promise with his good woman.

PS. I loved Payton. I loved the cover. I wondered why just the two brothers and where was third.??

I loved this book. It was full of feels and I loved that it wasn't all straight up happy all the time.
I loved how human Mason is. He isn't perfect and has flaws and that's awesome.
I had a little issue with Payton and how she takes over but I think it fit the situation.
I really enjoyed this book, as well as the appearances of my beloved Devil's Share guys and girls. I can't wait for Beau and Halen's story!

Heartbreaking but sweet

I have become too attached to these stories. Royalty is a spin-off from The Devil's Share Band series and I am so relieved that the stories will continue. I love Rock Stars and Ms Maxa shows a true side to the human vulnerable parts of life that touch us all. I cheered Mason and Payton on to the sweet end. Thank you Ms Maxa for this reader to look into and keep up with how my "favorite band" is growing and loving. Happy Reading!

Wonderful

This book really pulls at your heart. I was a little confused at the before then came the after and I almost cried. Mason went through so much hurt. I felt so bad for him. I really loved how Payton came to help him as well, very sweet, but then mason had to be a jerk and leave. But so glad they worked it out. Such a great book, just love the whole series and the devils share series, just great. It’s a awesome book.

This was a great quarantine read - it's super emotional and a good excuse to cry with a sweet love story. My only complaint is that the characters don't have a ton of depth but it has a great storyline and a really sweet ending. Definitely recommend and looking forward to reading more from this author.

Awesome but sad books

There was several times hay I almost stopped reading this book! I fell in love with characters that didn’t stay. And silently cried through half the book!! In the end I think it was one of her best books yet!
