I'm called a lot of names, heart breaker, broken man, a smart fighter and yet the one I'd never thought I'd be called, is the only name I care about now, a father. Sebastian king has only ever loved one girl, but he lost her once, and he won't be doing it again. When his life is spiralling out of control, Maisy comes back and finally he knows he has to fight the biggest fight of his life, winning her back. Maisy is pregnant by a man she thought she hated but when the truth comes out; can she keep her heart safe? The kings are dangerous, that's what everyone says but can they protect her from the true threat? Follow the king brother’s series, this is book two in the king brother’s series but can be read as a standalone. Wrote in a duel point of view, with a HEA! 18+ due to violence, sexual scenes and language.
G. Bailey is a USA Today bestselling author of books that are filled with everything from dragons to pirates. Plus, fantasy worlds and breath-taking adventures. Oh, and some swoon-worthy men that no girl could forget. G. Bailey is from the very rainy U.K. where she lives with her husband, two children and three cheeky dogs.
It did not get better and I’m not going to finish the series.
I did finish this book, even though it was torture to constantly have to read “sebby I missed you so much” and “hehe maisybear i missed our nicknames” Like stop, it’s so cringe. How did you read that and think people would enjoy it?
The same problems with this book as the other, the characters are all annoying and unlikable. The story has SOO many holes and doesn’t make sense.
Just a mess, then at the end it’s like “this is a pen name for a best selling author” lady go back to whatever genre you have that is best selling bc this ain’t doing it for ya.
Sebastian's Choice is the second book of The King Brother's series. In it you will meet, Sebastian and Maisy. They are that relationship that has basically been married since birth. I was intrigued in the beginning; however, I will admit that I did get bored every now and then.
These two were cute in their own way but that's about it. It was also entertaining enough that I finished the book. This is also a second chance at romance, and those are my kryptonite. Is that how you spell it? idk lol.
Anyhoo, these two were cute. The romance and chemistry was okay but not my favorite. I thought my opinion was going to change once I found out she was pregnant.. but no, that didn't happen. Overall, I liked it but eh.. it wasn't my favorite.
Found this on TikTok, I'm pretty sure. And no, it's not for me. It was just too much. Like the backstory is so outrageous, the MMC family is forced into a fight ring, pimped out by their father, drugs, intrigue, horrible abuse, and they are 17-19 year old. WTF? If they had been older, better, but teenagers? Nothing about the language or characterization fits the age. Just no. It feels overly complicated in plot yet too simplistic in their depiction somehow. There was no reflection of this in the blurb.
Ok now the MCs. Ugh. Where to start? They are both wealthy but he is not good enough for her, according to her parents. The FMC thought she caught her bf, MMC, cheating and left, found out she was pregnant and has been under her abusive mother's thumb. He didn't know where she went, but they live nearby? He sees her out one day and they are back in touch. More craziness ensues. Think stalkers, violence, mayhem, etc. Too much.
Blurb Maisie and Sebatian have been together since childhood. They were their first everything. One event and big misunderstanding and they break up and don't see each other for months. They run into each other again and it turns out Maisie is pregnant with Sebastian's baby. This is the story of their second chance.
My opinion (contains spoilers) Sebastian and Maisie are supposed to be each other's forever. Sebastian hides family secrets from Maisie. Those secrets are eating him inside. During one party, he drinks a lot and starts making out with a girl he thinks is Maisie. Turns out it's another evil girl who's been chasing after Sebastian for a while. Of course, Maisie arrives at the party and sees this. She runs from the party brokenhearted. She later founds out she's pregnant and texts Sebastian to tell him. The evil girl took the phone from Sebastian and replies that he doesn't want anything to do with the baby and she should get rid of it. Maisie hides at home with her abusive father and doormat mother who are both ashamed of her. Sebastian is oblivious to what happened. He only remembers kissing the evil girl but doesn't understand how it happened (we learn later that ge was drugged). He's completely crushed because he loves Maisie so much but she doesn't answer his calls and he doesn't see her anymore at school. So what does he do? He bangs half the town but you know, that's just his way of coping with heartbreak *eye roll* If that wasn't enough, he hooks up on a regular basis with the evil girl (!!!!!!) He says he doesn't have feelings for her but they get close enough that she has a picture of the two of them naked after sex saved as her contact picture... Meanwhile, Maisie is coping with her pregnancy and her father. When they reunite, Sebastian barely grovels. He pays for her medical care and buys her a house, and all is forgiven!
I don't want to slut-shame or anything. He was free to bang anyone but I'm tired of reading books saying that it was a way to cope with heartbreak. No way. Just be honest and say that you like being a manwhore and have a revolving doors of hook ups. Also, he says sleeping with evil girl was a way "to get back at her for leaving him". WTF. It was just a way to dip your di*** stop trying to justify it!
Anyway, I think I'd have liked it better if he had to grovel more and also if there were another love interest (or many) for Maisie. Hell even hook ups. I don't like the fact that during the separation, the guy is a total manwhore while she patiently waits for him. Agreed she's pregnant and stuck at home but she could have had other lovers after having the baby.
I did like the side story though.

In this one we got to see Sebastian and Maisy’s story. While I didn’t like it as much as Izzy and Blake’s, it was still pretty good!
Maisy was... decent. She was stupid for rushing out and leaving without a word that night. She didn’t give Seb a chance to explain. Instead she fled across the continent without a word to anyone. Over pretty much nothing! And for how much their last was hyped in the two books, it was kind of anti climatic.
Seb was amazing (as are all the King brothers, duh) ((Like can I have one please? 😂)) He never backed down when he found out about the baby. He stepped up and did everything for Maisy and the baby.
And of course, there had to be the psycho ex who comes back and tried to kill someone. There always seems to be one XD Honestly, I have no clue why Seb decided to sleep with her for all that time when she was the one that broke him and Maisy up??!! Like dude, that makes no sense.
Holy crap. It’s happening! It’s happening! With finally get to see inside of broody Elliot’s head. And I can’t fucking wait!!! This is going to be interesting 😏
This was an okay read. Sebastian meets his Ex girlfriend, who he still loves at the end of book 1. He finds out that she is pregnant. And this book is about his second chance to win Maisy back.
Mostly I did not like that some of this romance was very predictable. Like who will be the villain trying to keep Sebastian and Maisey apart. And I thought it was kind of sad that the MC's of the first book had nearly no appearance in this book. Because I like it when in series the MC's of former books play a bigger supporting role in the other books of the series. They are there but not really much.
That said, the book was an okay read with an HEA. And I liked the new main Characters and of course both had problems to cope with.
Blurb: The Kings are dangerous, that's what everyone says, but how can Maisy run from a second chance with the man she has always loved? I've been called a lot of names. Heartbreaker, broken, dirty fighter, and yet the one I'd never thought I'd be called, is the only name I care about now, father. Sebastian King has only ever loved one girl, but he lost her once, and he won't be doing it again. When his life is spiralling out of control, Maisy comes back. Finally, he knows he must fight the biggest fight of his life, winning her back.
Wow, I'm surprised how much I loved this story. We met Seb in the first book and he was a wreck. He is partying hard and sleeping around to forget about his first love. I have been dying to know more about this girl who has Seb messed up. We meet Maisy and Seb's world is rocked. Maisy is six months pregnant with Seb's baby. We find out what really happened and why they broke up. I love Sebastian and Maisy and I'm so happy that they found their way back to each other. We also learn more about the horrific things the boys had to endure by their father. I'm also really excited about Elliot's story because I saw a different side of him in this book. I love the King family!

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
Yea now we get Seb's story and we finally get to meet Maisy who we kept hearing about in book one. Not only do we get her but we get a sweet baby as well. Can the two of them figure it all out with their family drama or will they let that pull them apart? I have to say these two have all sorts of surprising obstacles in their way but in true King fashion they manage to overcome giving us an ending we all love while setting up book three for the nest brother. I am totally hooked on the King's by this point and I bet you will be too if you haven't read them yet. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
Sebastian sleeping with Elena, the girl who was always flirting with him while him and May were dating ruined the entire book. Yeah technically it isn’t cheating since they weren’t together, but it doesn’t make it better. She was alone and pregnant and he was fucking the girl he told you “not to worry about”. Nope, next.

Sebastian has drank and partied to forget Maisy. He screwed up but can't get over his first love. Thus, the partying and drinking. When he finally sees Maisy again he is shocked, not just seeing her but the secret she has been hiding. Will Maisy ever forgive Sebastian? All Sebastian wants is to get Maisy back and he will do whatever it takes to make it happen. The thing is, outside forces have been working to keep the two lover birds apart. Will the star-crossed lovers ever find their way back to each other?
This book was fucking awful lol. I saw a video on tiktok and they made it seem so good but after getting 20% in I knew that was a lie. I didn’t dnf this book and finished it in hopes it would get better and also so I could leave the review. The writing is atrocious. Every time any of the characters anted to change the subject it would go a little like this “ so are we going to hit the gym? Seb said clearly wanting to change the subject” FOR EVERY CONVERSATION. The constant outfit descriptions had me thinking of my 5th grade writing assignments. So bad. Not to mention the incredible icks throughout the book that had me cringing so bad. The plot line essentially went “and then, and then, and then”. This book, the writing style, the characters, the verbiage. Awful. I want to give a zero but since that’s not possible I give you a 1. At one point in the story the main characters sister calls him “daddy” in a throaty voice as a joke and vomit. I would never in a million years ever call my brother daddy even if it was a joke and YOU PAID ME. I don’t recommend and I wouldn’t even waste effort trying to get into this book or the series.. just so bad. This is the only book I’ve ever read by this author but I can confirm that it will be my last. Just wow
Storyline 0/5 Spice -2/5 (just awkward and cringe)
This was okay. Super forgettable and not something that I see myself reaching for again. Which sucks, because I loved Sebastian's character in the first book and wanted him to have an epic romance. I just didn't buy Sebastian and Maisy as a forever couple. The chemistry wasn't there and everything was wrapped too easy with little groveling from Sebastian. He just threw money around and kissed her a few times and she was putty in his hands.
Next up is Elliot's book and I'm curious to see how he's going to get Allie to be his.
Sebastian is one of my favourite brothers. This book was amazing. A couple missing words in it though which made the read a wee bit annoying but other than that it was really good
THIS ONE WAS A RANDOM READ. (Safe to say we should've never crossed paths)
Maisy and Sebastian are each other's firsts. They have been dating since 13 (could never be me LOL) until Sebastian cheats on her (or so that's what dear May thinks).
OFC he did not cheat. It was supposed to be MISUNDERSTANDING TROPE but the way it was portrayed seemed more like GUILT TRIPPING. So another girl named Elena kisses Seb whilst he is drugged (which counts as assault BTW) and he kisses her back thinking it's Maisy but by the time Mr.Guilty realizes that his girlfriend (our dear May) is out of the door and that's basically where the supposed cheating stems from.
My problem with this book didn't start there. After Maisy leaves town after breaking up with Seb, he starts going full POUND TOWN WITH THE WHOLE TOWN because ofc his excuse is HE CANNOT FORGET HER (ask God? Pray? No. Fuck? Yes) Btw he also sleeps with Elena (AND NOT JUST ONCE, MULTIPLE TIMES) even though he is aware of how badly she treated Maisy in school. Again, his excuse is Elena reminds him of dear May (BITCH SHUT THE FUCK UP).
Also, if I see one more book describing the fmc as bad looking when she's not wide hips, long tanned legs, big bust and shiny brown hair I'M THROWING HANDS. And also I hated how the fmc body shames her supposed fiance (who is a jerk but regardless).
She despises her fiance (arranged by parents) because he loathes her baby bump and wants to get rid of it ASAP because ofc HELLO POUND TOWN? But when Seb goes with her to their baby's appointment and the very first question he asks the doc is IS IT SAFE TO HAVE SEX? guess what her reaction is. SHE FUCKING BLUSHES because ofc we're supposed to imagine he's hot (HEH YOU WISHED). Atleast, the fiance chose to go for it after birth (not justifying him though).
Also, let's talk about Sebastian King's redemption era. He wants to be there for the baby and Maisy although Maisy makes it clear that she only keeps him around for the baby and they could be friends. HE ABSOLUTELY DID NOT RESPECT THAT because the first thought that came to his mind was HOW WIDE HER HIPS HAD BECOME AND HOW GOOD IT WOULD LOOK IF HE WENT FROM BEHIND? WHAT THE ABSOLUTELY FUCK IS THIS.
I couldn't handle them both istg. Ofc they had sex the moment they bought a new house and Maisy dear didn't have any problem because it was hot arse (my foot) and not ugly duckling fiance. Also Sebastian's excuse was that he never stopped loving her (I'M SURE HE THOUGHT THAT WHEN HE RODE THE TRAIN TO POUND TOWN and he lowkey did do the whole town).
Sebastian’s Chance by G. Bailey is book 2 of the King Brothers series and could be read as a standalone. However, I would recommend that you start with Izzy’s Beginning (book 1) as there are parts of the story that continue throughout the series.
‘That man was everything to me until one night when he ruined us, and then when I thought it couldn’t get worse, I get a text from him saying that I’m on my own with the baby.’ - Maisy
After reading and awarding Izzy’s Beginning a well deserved 5 stars, I was excited about jumping into Sebastian’s story after getting a teaser of what was to come in the epilogue of Izzy’s Beginning. I also wanted to learn more about the King family and see if they would ever be free from the consequences of their father's choices. As with the first book, I was unable to put this book down and read it all in one go. This book had a different feel to it but it was still so enjoyable and addictive. I just can't get enough of this family!
“I love you, May. I don’t know how else to tell you how much you mean to me. I can’t say I won’t make mistakes, but I’ll never be anyone else’s but yours, for however long you’ll have me,” - Sebastian
So far, Sebastian and Maisy are my favourite couple from the series due to their incredible strength and love when such a lot was against them. Again, G. Bailey doesn't end the story when you would expect her to and she gives the reader a few unexpected surprises that have you unable to put the book down because you need to know what happens next. I absolutely love G. Bailey’s writing style and the way she incorporates parts from Izzy’s Beginning into this book. It doesn't feel disjointed and the story so far flows so well and in a way that the reader can follow and understand.
Next up is Elliot’s Secret (book 3) where we'll hopefully get some answers to the questions raised by the first two books and also get to see if Elliot and Allie can forget about their dislike for each other and follow what their hearts are telling them.
Sebastian's Chance is book 2 of the King Brother's series. We continue the story first started when we met their half-sister Izzy in book 1. This is obviously Sebastian's story. At the end of book 1, we ran into Sebastian's missing ex-girlfriend Maisy. A very pregnant Maisy. Maisy is the only girl Sebastian has ever loved. He knows how much he hurt her; he realizes how much he's messed up since she left. But now she's back carrying his baby. There is no way he's losing her again. He will do anything to fix things with her. He wants his family. Nothing, no-one will stand in his way.
I really enjoyed Seb and Maisy's book. Told in a dual-POV, we know exactly how each character feels along the way to their reunion. Sebastian handled everything wrong after losing Maisy, but once he decides to man-up he is wonderful. Maisy is sweeter and stronger than I could manage in the same situation. She's pretty great. They each have damage from childhood and once they share every secret their relationship grows stronger. The flashbacks of a shared childhood, their present-day struggles, the potential of a truly wonderful future make this a worthy love story.
The supporting cast is full of the King family. I have a different favorite brother in each scene. This includes Blake as an honorary King. Love these boys! Izzy continues her awesomeness and Allie is a great friend. Allie's father continues to be horrid and his partner-in-crime this book is a nightmare. There's nothing scarier than an unhinged female!
This is an entertaining read with plenty of fun and drama. This is a revised edition. The editing issues that were an earlier complaint have been resolved. I can't get enough of this family and am eager to read Elliot's and then Harley's stories. I need a HEA for all of these men!
Chance, book 2 in the King Brothers series, follows Sebastian and Maisy's story.
Sebastian and Maisy have been together since they were kids. They were each other's first everything and thought they'd always be together. Then one night at a party everything changes. Maisy takes off and Sebastian goes off the rails, become a crazy partying one night stand type of guy. But months later, Maisy comes back into his life... six months pregnant, giving these two lovers the second chance they desperately needed.
I wasn't too sure how I would feel about this book. I didn't know much about these characters from Izzy's book and wasn't sure if I would like them. But really, how could I have doubted a book by G. Bailey? ;)
Maisy was so much more than I was expecting. She's a super sweet character who initially seems like a bit of a push over. But it soon becomes clear that she has her own plans and is dedicated in working towards her goals. Maisy is much tougher than she seems, enduring so much and staying strong, protecting herself and her baby.
This book really showed us another side of Sebastian, one that wasn't clear in Izzy's book. While he comes off as a partying playboy, he's really just a guy with a broken heart trying to get over the love of his life. Once Maisy is back in the picture, he completely changes, becoming an amazing guy who's first priority is this girl and their baby.
Chance also gives us a deeper look into the Cage and and the sadistic and crazy guy who runs it. We learn more about him and the King brothers' awful father. The more that's revealed about their past, the more I respect and admire these guys and understand their actions.
Chance was another great read by G. Bailey. The King Brothers book just keep growing from each other, revealing more about their past with each sibling we get to know. I can't wait to read Elliot's book next!
I really tried to force myself to get through this book but I just couldn’t do it.
We have a FMC and MMC who are high school sweethearts and have been together for years. MMC has some shady family history that he hides from the FMC and it ultimately leads him to drinking one night. On said night, he gets drunk and the FMC catches him kissing another girl in his lap (he was likely drugged by that girl since he thought he was kissing his GF but I quit reading before it was confirmed). The FMC rushes out and weeks later finds out she’s pregnant. In the meantime, the MMC was “heartbroken” she left him and ends up sleeping with half the town and even became friends with benefits with the girl he cheated on the FMC with. This is all while the FMC is pregnant with his child. Honestly, this plot line is widely overused and utterly disgusting. There’s nothing I hate more in books then when the MMC gets away with sleeping around and the FMC is essentially a saint and easily takes back the MMC after he was hooking up with countless (yes countless!!) women. Even when they decide to work things out the FMC sees that the MMC is still in contact with the FWB girl and has a picture of them in bed together (presumably naked) as his contact for her. Puke in my mouth. Not sure how anyone could get over that. That was enough for me to call it quits here. Nothing could make me forgive this especially when I felt he barely groveled for hooking up with the same girl that caused his breakup.

Another touching, pain-filled wreck your heart King story. May is one determined and seriously in need of a hug girl. Seb is an idiot, or that's what he keeps telling himself. In reality he is coping in the best manner he knows how to. In truth both he and May are a little damaged and their pasts make them so beautifully perfect for each other. They both have had to learn that true love is lasting and that family are the ones that support your decisions and build you up. Friends can love you like a sibling and it's a okay to place your trust in them. What keeps me coming back to read more about the King siblings is that my heart is totally invested in their futures since their pasts have been so damaging. There is nothing more tragic than a parent or both, hurting their children. It's soul shattering and the ripples never cease. The Kings are seemingly tough and untouchable (as they've learned to be) but their hearts are in tatters. So you know in every story that you're going to see healing, forgiveness and love. What more could you desire in a plot!? Ms. Bailey is timeless... her work transcends gender, age and social class. She's a memorable author and I'm so glad that I was introduced to her writing 💖💖💖
So in book 2, Chance, we finally get to hear Sebastian's story. We hear the name Maisy thrown around in the first book quite a few times and we work out that she was the love if his life, what we don't know is what happened? We quickly learn that May is pregnant with Seb's child and that he had no idea about it. The main question is can these two move on from the past and make a future together?
This story was heart breaking and endearing as we see Seb trying desperately to win May back and prove that he has changed. The twists and turns in this book are exquisite and they are seamless when it comes to them coming together. There are a few things that you can see coming and predict but I would say only a couple. All the characters are showing more depth and maturity as the book goes on and again the brothers prove to be a remarkable team. I love how Izzy and Blake are still part of the story-they aren't left out and in fact they provide great wit and added story to it.
This is a fun read that will hook you in very quickly. It's full of great banter and wit, with shock and surprise thrown into the mix. Onto Elliott and book 3!!
This book is action packed from start to finish. From villains, abusive parents, to a baby with the most precious name! Sebastian and Maisys love story ended cause of a tragic form of miscommunication, but came back as a love story for the ages. As sad as their time apart was I think they needed it to become stronger as individuals who can truly survive anything. Seb gets his HEA (not easily i might add lol Maisy makes him work for it lol) and Maisy gets her HEA by getting the family she deserves! One that loves her and protects her and of course Sebby and their baby. There was so much that happened in this book to not only set up the next books but also gives us answers and insight into these King brothers upbringing. You go through all the emotions and get a front row seat to the true respect and love the brothers have for Harley which melts your heart. Onto my favorite King brothers book!! I can't wait to see what Allie has in store for her sexy Cookie *swoon*
***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*** This book was totally not what I expected but I fell in love with the characters and book itself. For all my Tijan followers, there is a Tijan feel to this book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. As we learn from book 1 in the series, Sebastian has some broken relationship past that has haunted him for a while and shut him off from the relationship word. All he does is fuck his way through the girls and doesn't care. Eventually, his past comes back and not in a way you would expect it to. This story is amazing and so different from how I imagined it would be for Seb. Let's just say, he steps in and does the manly thing to do. Sebastian's story is the 2nd book of the series and while the other books don't follow him, you will see much of him in the other books. If you have not had a chance to read this book yet, I suggest you go grab your copy and do so now!
I grabbed the box set from KU. I choked down the first 4 but by the time I reach Luke I just couldn’t do it anymore.
Izzy’s story was ok. Highly improbable but decently written plot I suppose. Sebastian and Maisy were cute. I do wonder how the heck NO ONE could find her when she was still living in her same home. Seriously no one looked there??
And the x’s on the text messages... sheesh give it a rest already. Anyway this story was slapped together about as well as the first one, which wasn’t great but not awful.
I’m in the U.S. so I really struggled with the sentence structure and really odd way she wrote the characters speaking. I don’t know if it’s bad grammar or just that drastically different from over here.
The characters did pull me in, hence why I managed four of the stories. The plot holes get increasingly bigger with each story.
I’m honestly surprised by the number of people that say they just loved these books. They are honestly mediocre at best in my opinion.
I really liked this but the beginning really pissed me off. I don't like it that he decided to stick his dick into everything that walked in the 6 months they were apart and saying he "was a kid then and isn't now." Dude, Bro, my man... You are like 18 and it was a 6 month break up. I had to keep reminding myself that they are ALL so young in this book. Insane, but the story is good and I loved them after they got past talking about him being a whole whore of a man. I know it is a series but I'm assuming they are supposed to be standalone books. The author could have put way more of the little detail of the history of these characters in the book. I got the gist but I was confused at some points or feeling like I was missing some information that would make the difference in making the connection to the characters. I've already started Elliot's story but I had to back track to write this review. I'm excited to see where it goes and I REALLY want to read Harley's story.

I love it when a baby gets added to the family! In book one (Izzy's Beginning) we met Sebastian one of the twins and learned that he was spiraling out of control. Alcohol and women were how he escaped from the trauma of his only love leaving him. We were never told why or what happened, but now we get his story.
I really liked Maisy and thought she was a great partner for Sebastian and a great addition to the cast of characters. She's really sweet, but needs the support of the King family. She's got her own issues in her family and believes she left for a good reason. When she sees Seb again, it all comes flooding back and because she's pregnant she realizes that they need to talk and work something out.
Lots of twists and turns and more revelations than you can count. A definite must read!
This could easily be a four or five star book, but there were so many grammatical and typographical errors that it made it difficult to read. I think the author is very talented, but seriously can she not hire an editor?!?! I also realize that she must be British, and I ignored the different terms for things than what a lot of the rest of the English speaking world uses, but improper grammar and writing in that barroom slang is not acceptable in a published book. "Brought" is in no way similar to the word "bought". The past tense of buy is bought! I was really hoping that this second book in the series would be better than the first, but there were MANY more errors and mistakes. It's just sad that something so easily corrects could ruin a good book.
The writing was cringe. It gave teenage Wattpad vibes. I HATE not finishing a book because I'm nosey and I want to know how it ends. I seriously considered DNF'n this one. I ended up skipping through a lot.
The plot, however, was a really good base. (Which is why it got 2 stars instead of 1.) There were a couple of holes and I adjusted everyone's age in my head. But otherwise, I would give this book another shot if it was revised and edited. Maybe by someone older? Or by the author themselves in a couple of years so the story doesn't lose its voice.
I haven't read the first book in this series and I have no intention of reading any others.
