Anthology of words of inspiration and encouragement in poem form to daughters from mothers (and a couple of fathers). Susan Polis Schutz is the editor, and the most frequent contributor, including the one piece that really touches on feminist issues in the collection.

I was amused to discover that the entry by Robert A. Ward is a piece used in the annual graduation blessing at a school I once worked at.

In general, the poems range from standard self-help advice and Hallmark sentimentality to some fairly insightful musings. There are definitely positive feelings to be had from reading this collection, although it can feel a bit repetitive in places.

Sentimental and a quick read. I saved 4 poems but it's all very simple, repetitive, a few God references. Not recommended for aa gift to your daughter. You're better off writing your own memo in a card.
