The Bite

This is the original version published on Wattpad for free and differs from the new version.
Charlotte is on the run from a troubled past to start a new life, turn a new page and begin again. Little does she know that the new life she is about to start, is one that is only supposed to exist only in fairy tales.

What was a minor decision put her in the wrong place at the wrong time; a decision that will be burned into her memory, a decision that forced her to fight for her life, a decision that will turn her into a thing of fairy tales- and it only took one bite.

This author is very talented, I think this is her first book and she already wrote a story like this.

She wanted to publish this series, I hope she will find a good editor to tighten up unnecessary part and streamline the story. Honestly? I give it five stars if she did it in the first place!

It's a very good story, rather unusual and is different from tons of shifter books out there.

And it's free on Wattpad too, you can read it here if you love a paranormal or shifter romance.

It's a slow burn romance, the h and H not even met until 46%. But since this is a trilogy series, I'm okay with that.

Book #1 is more about the changing of the heroine from an abused woman who run away from her husband to become one strong future Luna, it sounds clichés but it wasn't.

I'm on to book #2 now.

The only book series that I read over and over. I usually wait a couple months before I reread the series. One of the few book series that I wish I could read for the first time again. Really want it to get published so I can have physical copies of the book.

A good read and great start to the trilogy!! Love the mystery, the thrill, the scares and the built up love and relationships that Charlotte goes thru with everyone while she figures out the secrets in the pack

I think I may have crossed this book a few times on the feed while looking for good werewolf books. I only finnished it over a month or so ago and the only thing I could say is whish I found it sooner.

There are a lot good and bad werewolf books so you need to search carefully, that's what I've learned from number of werewolf I've read but when I came across this book finally giving in to read it I did not expect it to be as good as it is cause it's more than just amazing!

The plot, characters, writing it was all amazing! It's really diffrent from most werewolf stories and that's what's so great. I've come across very few that were as exciting as this.

*SPOILER PART*

An abused girl being turned into a werewolf and being introduced to a whole new world -ok. Shifts into an alpha wolf even if she came from being human -it happens. Levi adopting Charlie as his daughter and their father-daughter moments -love it. Being attacked by mysterious rouges for no reason -wtf is going on!?. Finding out who organized the attack 10 years ago in the story -ON TO THE NEXT BOOK!!!

That was some of the plot now on to the characters. Love Doctor Lander, Evan and his bets, Levi and his ass kicking, Elliot and his photography/recording skills, Darek's his cooking and motherly insticts, Ethan having a stick up his ass but still managing to be sweet as hell, Charlie's ass kicking and over all being a damn Queen!!! There are plenty more I want to add but there's just a lot of outstanding characters...as well as the ones we hate

I'm looking at you Thomas!!!

*END OF SPOILERS*

I feel like it was more of a rant and screeming up there but like ya the book is just breathtaking overall. I clearly remember several times I was scared for my own life from reading the book and the characters.

I would want to say more but I don't have words for everything so for now that's it.

(If you're new and decide to read the book then watch out for the comments there are some rr who spoil without warning and there are a lot of both rr and ftr's pissed at them. I beg you people to please not argue in the comments cause I've seen a lot or arguements on there.)

This series is literally my favourite series of all time. It has an insane plot, a badass woman as a protagonist , badass couples, badass and lovable DAMN side characters(if you get the reference, you get the reference), the character development of multiple characters is chefs kiss. This is literally my comfort series. I re-read this series at least once a year minimum and I have yet to discover something remotely as good as this series(in accordance to what I like of course). Patiently waiting for it to be published. Highly recommend. 10/10.

Edit(24/05/23): I have now finished reading the published book , my only disappointment is that it isn’t longer.Need book 2 to come instantly!!

Denn: Es passiert einfach nichts.

i’ve re-read this book series a couple of times and i’m not the type of person who re-read a book series.

✅kickass heroine🤺
✅FAMILY & FRIENDSHIP BOND💗 (found family trope)
✅funny and witty moments
✅heartwarming
✅male lead that respect boundaries????

idk how to explain the level of attachment i have for this book. yes, especially the book 1. the relationship between charlie and the others (ESPECIALLY LEVI💗) is just so wholesome i might have ruined my skincare every damn night. this is the first time where i read a book and i don’t really care about the romance stuff (lol). i sincerely enjoy charlie’s personal development and the relationship-building with other side characters. like this book series succeeded in making me feel like i’m one of the fam??

the surprising thing is, this might be my fav fantasy-romance book series that i’ve. ever. read.

this is not your typical lycanthropy/werewolf book where the male lead runs to claim the female lead butt naked and growling some bullshit (well, technically he did.... but just read it u’ll know what i mean lol). this book made me cry a freaking river and laugh like a madman at the same time.

if u love to read a heartwarming book full of weres, vamps or other freaky creatures with witty remarks, STRONG ass female lead and MAY I MENTION.... secret super power🤭u gotta read this and i love the fact that there’s flaw in both charlotte and ethan’s character. made it so much realtistic.

will i sell my soul to read this book for the first time? hell yea. DEFINITELY my comfort book.

⭐️100/10

I’ve read this book two times now. It’s original and unique, the characters are so lovable, and the plot itself -at least once it really starts getting into it- is so interesting.

I gotta say though, while I love the book, boy oh boy is it long. Like, I did the math, and the average chapter is like 5500-6000 words which puts the book at something like 385,000-420,000 words and to give you some perspective, the bible is like 800,000... So needless to say, I’m pretty sure reading the entire trilogy is like reading the bible 1 and a half times. Is it worth it? Yes. Is it still ridiculously long? Also yes.

Nonetheless, while I’m sure some intensive editing could do this book some good, the length does not take away from the story at all. For people like me who love to dive into a story and it’s characters, I would be sad to see so many things go. So I would honestly recommend you read the book in its current (long) form because there is so much more to enjoy. However, I look forward to the day (if it ever comes) where this series is edited and published for the wider world to enjoy because it is just too good to be set aside.

In the beginning I found it quite boring so I quite reading it for a while but my curiosity of knowing who her mate would be got the best of me so I read on and I haven't regretted it ever since. All these different events and adventure that'll come along the way makes this book very interesting and it keeps you wanting to read this book to the end. I recommend this book very much!

I started reading this book on Wattpad thinking it was just a normal werewolf story just like any other but boy I was so wrong and now I'm obsessed. Besides, the protagonist in this book is so lovable and not annoying and actually, she's so strong.

I am so disappointed in the published book. Why was just about everything changed? The characters are unlikable and irritating, the back story weak and the changing names is just idiotic. The Wattpad version was BRILLIANT but the new version is just HORRIBLE.
SO DISAPPOINTING!

Book 📕The Bite (Original Wattpad Version), by Z. W. Taylor

🐺Rate-⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐+/5
🐺Spice-🌶🌶🌶🌶.50/5

🐺Basic plot- Charlotte is on run from her abusive husband & ends up bitten by a werewolf. Levi (A grumpy werewolf Alpha) takes her under his wing. It's Charlotte's journey of healing, growing & becoming stronger. There is a wonderful found family troop, a sizzling passion filled relationship & enchanting vibes.

🐺Review- MASTERPIECE❣️
- This was fucking Phenomenal, one of the best series ever read! Already re-read it 8 times, so just do yourself a favor & read it 🙌🏻
- Charlotte, I freaking love this woman, she is such a damn Queen 👑 strong, perfect, fierce, caring & imperfectly perfect. Her bond with Levi, till date is the best father daughter relationship I have ever read 🥺 I love the way he calls her his 'Charlie girl'. The way they helped each other survive was so beautiful ✨💓 I swear the amount of heart touching scenes here were endless. Her killing her husband was so satisfying💅
- Everything is just right in this book, from start to finish - the settings, vibes, world building, plotline, character development etc 🤌🫡 Love her transformation in a strong version of herself & adore how supportive & strong her wolf is.
- And Ethan OMG!! 😘 That Man! I so fucking adore, love & cherish him: Hot, considerate, powerful, sweet, caring & fucking perfect for her 🫠 + when Ethan calls her his 'Sunshine' *dreamy sight* Love the way they are both equal to each other rather than one dominating other. There chemistry & build up was ❤️‍🔥I enjoyed the way they all brought the alpha hidden in Ethan out making him realise the truth.
- It was so heartbreaking to see all what Ethan & Levi's family, also Char went through with there own pasts 😭🥺 (Am being vague, so I don't spoil this for ya). All characters in here are so fucking well written; Lander, Remi, Eve, Lucas, Ryder, Elliott & Derek (Love my these two adorable vamps😻), Andrea etc.. basically everyone.
- Fav scene:- Entire book but still; When she realises she is an Alpha Female, The Hunt, Her & Levi's all moments, Meeting Ethan, All scenes during Council Meeting & The Marking.
Just freaking read this book!!! It's hard for me to express how mind blowing this book is!!
To the next one 🏃

I absolutely LOVED this whole trilogy! I read this trilogy yearly and I'm hooked on it every time, as if I'm reading it for the first time. The character building is satisfying, the author doesn't spend too much time detailing the surroundings, and the female lead is a bad ass. I believe this story is what hooked me on romantasy books. I would recommend this book to anyone, especially those into werewolves stories. The fantastic version of this story is on Wattpad, under the new version. BRB, it's time for my yearly reread <3

Summary: A beautiful werewolf novel about a woman who fights her way back into her life.

First of all, I would like to say in advance that this book can trigger. This concerns the topics: domestic violence, psychological dependency and trauma disorders. Sensitive readers should therefore be a little cautious.

I liked this book immensely. I liked the "flow" of the story and the characters. Werewolf and vampire fans will get their money's worth here. If you're hoping for a love story, you'll be disappointed with "The Bite". But... maybe the two following volumes will also be published and then Charlotte will find happiness in love.

As a heroine, you simply have to like Charlotte herself. Not only because of her past, but also because of her inner strength and naturalness. As a "woman on the run" she is really unlucky. Her "bad karma" steers her straight into the arms of the next "monster". But this time with serious life-changing consequences. Luckily, her rescuers decide to help her, so that as the story progresses, an almost family-like relationship develops.

"The Bite" can be read as a stand alone. No cliffhanger.

I received an ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review via NetGalley.

(German title: The Bite: Jägerin der Nacht)

Kein Cliffhanger.

This book is Fire Literally!

I first read this book years ago. When I first found The Bite on wattpad I wasn't that into it because I had a different style of books I enjoyed at that time and I found that I could not handle any type of angst. I was much younger then so I wanted everything to be roses and butterflies.

After about I think maybe a year of two years I found the Bite again and decided to read and give the book a chance because of all of the positive reviews it was getting. I was not sure at first but dang this book pulls you in so quickly. I loved how strong Charlie girl was in this story. I loved being able to see her journey from the beginning of this book as someone at the end of their rope to a goddess of a women that could bring the world down with her strength.

I love reading romance books and love insta-love or books that show the journey of a couple and their lives but, this book was not only focused on that. This book was about Charlie finding herself and becoming stronger during the first whole beginning. This was a journey about her and the type of person she was shaping up to be and I loved that. We do not meet her mate or H until about the second half of the book. I loved both Charlie and Ethan. They were magnets and both revolved around each other like the planets revolve around the sun. Their love was slow burn but when it caught on fire it went up in flames like a pile of wood you doused in lighter fluid. This book was really inspiring. I loved that Charlie never lost herself but found herself and also found the love of her life!

I loved all of the characters in this book Z.W. Taylor does a wonderful job with writing her main and secondary characters. I fell in love with them all and absolutely hated the antagonists/villains of the story. I am so in love with Charlie and Levi's relationship as well. I love a good Mother/Daughter, Father/Daughter relationship in a book and Charlie and Levi's relationship was one for the books.

If you have not read this book then your should give it a try!

Warning: Book does have triggers and sensitive subjects that are discussed. If you can not handle reading about abuse and rape victims then I suggest you try another book. This book is about the main h character finding herself and changing after going through an abusive relationship. Also if you do not like Werewolf or supernatural books then this is not for you! I do hope you give it a try though it just might surprise you!
