Charlotte has gone from being a broken human to a strong she-wolf and a damn Thorne, but now she and her mate, are standing on the edge of deliverance or doom as they grapple with a revelation that changes everything.
They have to move fast to protect the ones they love, protect their pack, and most of all each other; but will it be enough? Will they rise to the occasion or fade into ash as the fires of failure lick them up?
There's will be blood. There will be your two favorite vampires and a lot of good food. There will be ass beatings, twists, turns, and whole lotta Levi.
It's either rise or fall, and this time, it's going to take more than a bite to save them.
Z.W. Taylor is the author of "The Bite" series. When she's not writing, she wonders why her coffee pot sounds like a gurgling bogeyman, debates whether her cat is conspiring against her, and fills blank pages with ideas for the future.
This WATTPAD book had me at a ROLLAR COASTER!! It literally went from a mess to full blown chaotic
Tho I love the characters, so much character development, the amount of forgiveness yet mystery of who to trust and who not to trust always kept me on my toes! I love Levi and Lander, my fave duo as well as Levi and Charlotte, my fave daughter/dad duo!
More mates, more hilarious/cute scenes, more drama, more mystery and more characters I feel like all these secrets will never be shown plz😭 I just got more confused as things started uncovering but wow, apart from the grammatical mistakes, the way this storyline grew was MARVELLOUS! Truly such a good plot line tho it was confusing it still was amazing
It also had me balling my eyes out for ppl and situations like- the emotional ride🥲✋
Now for the third and final one then the prequel IM SO EXCITED NOW
First and foremost, you absolutely fall in love with the characters 🥺. They are so damn;) awesome, caring and supportive of one another, and some might surprise you, fortunately and unfortunately:/ Their personalities are also quite diverse, but work well in tandem.
Same as I've noted from the first book, I really appreciate it that Z.W. Taylor truly shows us the wolves, that other side of the shifter characters. I mean, not everything might be accurate (not sure as I'm not a specialist), but in a lot of other books of the genre, yes, characters sort of communicate with their wolves, yes, they have some animalistic habits, and so on, but in this series the author's taken time to describe some actions through the characters' wolf forms, and that in itself I think is amazing, because you can practically feel there is that other part of the soul.
The plot twists that you definitely couldn't even see coming, those that make you either stop and replay the new facts in your mind, or your heart squeeze and nerves jangle.
There's one downside I noticed as compared to book one (I read the original whattpad version of The Bite (and absolutely freaking loved it!)). In the good 30-50% of The Rise some moments are sort of quite recurring. For example, Sunshine and White Hot's upstairs picnics, some scenes when Charlie is contemplative over a thought or idea about the pack, or the case. I understand, it could be done on purpose, to set the pace or the mood in the beginning, but as for me, unfortunately, it didn't feel self-explanatory, but honestly a bit lengthy and tiny bit dreary.
On the other side, the author's expressive language and the narrative in the last 5 or 7 chapters is especially beautiful! Deep and moving, some expressions are just so accurate - makes the reader feel it all💔🥹. Anyways, Z.W. Taylor, thank you so much for the book, and the characters ❤️
Best way to describe book two is a sinus rhythm. It had its highs and then it’s lows. Some times it even had its flat lines. I grew a little tired of it because it seemed to mellow out then something big would happen and I’d be up till midnight reading it because I couldn’t stop.
I love how different the author has written about werewolves and vampires. It’s not you average sparkle in the sunlight or burst in to flames when the sun hits them. The silver is the same to werewolves but it’s to be expected.
By far, my favorite series that I've re-read over & over and will continue to do so! I always feel lost after I finish reading the series because it is so good & sucks you in and you never want it to end. Even after the 3rd or 4th time!
The reason I'm rating this book three compared to the first one is because the information dump that was happening. Don't get me wrong I liked this book, but I didn't need every little detail.
