Even a dirigible can't out-fly these secrets....

Sabrina Fairweather is an airship captain with a bleak birthright. In an effort to keep her family history under wraps, she finds herself blackmailed into the unthinkable --- kidnapping a traumatized shifter out from under the noses of her only true friends.

Unfortunately, a handsome dragon with a flair for sniffing out mysteries makes Sabrina's task more difficult than it at first appeared. Can she protect her heritage and shield her friendships...or will desperate lies and layer upon layer of deceit finish turning the Fairweather name to mud?

Cerulean Magic is a standalone adventure in the Dragon Mage world. Although all novels in this series can be enjoyed as one-offs, chronological reading order begins with Verdant Magic.

Cerulean Magic could be enjoyed on its own, but for maximum pleasure, I recommend reading the Dragon Mage novels in order, starting with Verdant Magic . Verdant Magic was great fun, and it provided a nice introduction to this world and some of the main characters of the subsequent novels.

I enjoyed reading Sabrina and Nicholas's story, although I didn't enjoy it quite as much as Verdant Magic. This book felt a bit darker and had a little less comic relief. However, the characterizations were well done. As I have come to expect from Aimee Easterling, she has created interesting, likeable characters who are smart and funny and make mistakes, and I love getting to know these characters and watching them learn and grow.

The book is well-written and well formatted; I didn't notice any typos or editorial problems. The language is pretty clean, with lovely descriptive phrases addressing all the senses that drew me into the story. There's some violence and adult situations, as well as a brief sexually explicit scene, all handled rather tastefully.

If you think you'd enjoy reading about magic, romance, and intrigue aboard a dirigible, then give Cerulean Magic a try.

I volunteered to review an advanced reader copy of this book.

I loved this second book in the Dragon Mage series as much as I did the first book, Verdent Magic. It takes place after the first book, but if you haven't read that one, and you should, you will have no problem following this one. Sabrina played a party in that book, as well as some of the others you will meet in this one.

Sabrina is a wind witch, though she tries to hide her power since it is not always considered a good thing to have magic. She captains a wind ship which is a type of dirigible. She is currently deeply in debt and the person she owes this debt to is also holding her past over her head, well actually her father's past. The job he wants her to do goes against everything she tries to stand for, but she is not sure how to get out of it.

Kidnap a female dragon? Out from under the nose of a family of dragons, one of whom is mated to her best, and possibly only, friend? And then there is Nicholas, one of the dragons, who is famous for worming secrets of out people. Something about him makes her want to tell him everything, but how will he feel about her if he learns her secrets? Especially the one about how her father made his living.

This book has it all. Bad guys, good guys, people you can love and people you can hate. Action, adventure, and love.

I got a free copy of this book from the author. I was under no obligation to write this review. I love all of Aimee's books and you will too. Join her newsletter and try her other shifter books.

This second book in the Dragon Mage series takes up not too long after the events of the first book. However, the protagonist was a minor character in the first book, which I really like; it will be very interesting seeing a new protagonist in each book. We will get to see the world in different ways with different characters. The first thing I have to admit is that I liked this book better than the first one. I can’t really put my finger on why exactly. But what I can say is that this book was excellently written, had an interesting plot, and kept me interested through the whole thing. I found Sabrina to be a very strong character and she fit very well with Nicholas who is also a strong character. One character I hope we see more of is Sabrina’s brother. Probably not, but I did find him very interesting. This book also had plenty of action. I love the island that defends itself. I can’t say much about that part of the plot as I don’t want to give away too much. What I can say is that I found this book fun and worth every minute. An all-around great book which leads me to where I can’t wait to read more in this series! Highly recommend! Thanks to the author for the e-book which I reviewed voluntarily. This exact review will be posted on both Amazon and Goodreads.

Secrets can kill. That is what secret-digger Nicholas believes. Secrets can keep you alive. That is how secret-keeper Sabrina view her life. They are both right and yet they are wrong.
When some secrets start to be revealed the question is at which point will it stops. The timings might save the life of their family and their friends, their honors and their freedom. But it might also cost their life, or worse their budding connection.
I really loved the personality of Sabrina who wants to redeem her name and protect her brother. She fights for her way of life as captain but is soon overwhelmed by the sins of the past that pushes her to abide by the rule of feral dragons if she wants her beloved ship and her new brother to stay unsceptered. Many times in the story we think that she is cornered but time and times again Sabrina twist fates' arm. Because her yearning for real freedom, for love push her to her limits and attract her friends in tight knotted crew small but loyal. Well I still think my favorite character in the book was Zach: the way he was described and acted was always a balance between a fragile child, a smart spirit, and an hidden strength. The only sparkles left to ignite Zach to life were either hope or despair (you’ll have to read to know which one got to Zach).
As I said earlier, this book presents many twists in the plot and the next moves of foes and allies were always unpredictable. The world changed is a place full of surprises and powers. But also a dangerous mix of prejudices and enclaves.
Sing the winds of adventure and embark aboard the Intrepid!

Another beautiful love story between one of the dragon-shifters of the aerie Nicholas, and the wind witch Sabrina. Captain Sabrina Fairweather flies the skies in her dirigible which she inherited from her father however, this is not the only thing she inherited from him, because she has inherited a past which shames her and her brother Zach, and which she tries to keep hidden from all who know her. However Sabrina is not like her father, she is honourable and courageous but when being blackmailed by an evil man who knew her father's past, she takes on a dishonourable job to protect her brother. This entails kidnapping a female dragon-shifter currently seeking refuge at the aerie, with a past which intertwines with Sabrina's own, and in order to carry out this job she would have to betray her friends in the aerie. Things take a turn for the unexpected and Sabrina realises the big mistake she was going to make, and amidst a lot of danger for everyone on her airship but with Nicholas by her side, she manages to turn the story around. I love these beautifully written love stories full of romance between the gorgeous shifter men and the witches they fall in love with, as well as the great escapades they all end up experiencing. This story presents us with yet another great heroine and is just as beautiful as the rest of the series, which I really enjoy reading.

Can the sins of her father condemn Sabrina's future?

Better than the traditional male dominated swashbuckling "sea captain on a mission" story, Aimee Easterling's twist on the adventure genre has the added benefit of fantasy, science fiction and a tasteful romance between two adults. Cerulean Magic is an exciting adventure that helps us understand the post apocalyptic world where a wind mage and a dragon shifter strive to complete a complicated human quest. Acceptance, guilt, familial responsibility and shame play a large part of Sabrina's life as 2nd generation, Captain Fairweather of the Airship Intrepid. The detailed thoughts of the characters fill the novel with three dimensional characters exhibiting magic, flaws and humanity. There is no question that Sabrina and Nicholas share chemistry, but what is more important than the personal gain for two individuals is the bond between the dragon, the airship, its crew and her Intrepid captain.

I'm looking forward to the third installment in the Dragon Mage Chronicles.

Keeping Secret's

A Dragon Lord, (Nicholas) a Wind Witch, (Sabrina) & a story of the damage a secret held or told can destroy or free you from the guilt of the unknown consequences that may or may not happen.
Slavery, kidnappings, blackmail, dragons, mages, honor, fighting to stay one step ahead of those's that have no honor of their own, survival & a HEA, what more could you hope for, except maybe the hope that Ms Easterling will not take to long in writing another "Dragon Mage" book.
Alexander's story would be great.
An absolutely well written exciting & enjoyable read from start to finish.
For all Dragon, Magical & Elemental lover's everywhere, this will quench your thirst for a few hour's at least.
I recommend you get all 3 book's in the "Dragon Mage" Chronicles, even though each is a stand alone, they are worth it & do have cameo's of characters from past book's.
Ms Amiee Easterling, you are now on my TBR list. 🙌

One of the best Dragon Shifter series I've ever read.....

I've read a lot of dragon shifter stories but this series is much more than just a dragon shifter series. In is also an apocalyptic story. And a touch of sreampunk also. In a world devastated by gene- spliced plants taking over 90% of the world, which also brought dragon shifters into being, every single thing in the world has turned upside down. Magic and mages walk the earth; earth witches, water mages and good and evil is still around in every category of the new world order. The writing is tremendous, the characters, both good and bad are well developed and will catch your attention and never let go and the storyline is well planned and as devious as any best selling thriller you've ever read. Don't miss this great trilogy. Highly recommended.

Ms. Easterling Writes Exactly What I Love to Read!

Every time I read one of Ms. Easterling's excellent books, I wonder how she is able to write EXACTLY the books that I most love to read. So well plotted, with deep, rich characters, and her world-building is beyond superb. What I like about all of these things is that they combine to make the reading experience so wonderful. No worries about typos, bad grammar, inconsistent facts, or bad writing. Instead, just sinking seamlessly into her world, enjoying every last word of the experience. I don't want to give away any spoilers, because the journey is just too much fun. I can assure you that this book is one that you will truly enjoy.

Received as an ARC for an honest review.
This is the second in the Dragon Mage series after Verdant Magic and it does NOT disappoint! Picking up after VM, this book centers around Captain Fairweather and Nicholas and the secrets that haunt both. Well developed characters and lots of action make the pages whip by, holding the readers interest from the start. This book also gives the reader a larger understanding of the world and the diversity that comes with life after the end of the world as we know it.
If you enjoy a different take on post apocalyptic scenarios, this is a great series to lose yourself in.

Book two in a series, this author did not fail to maintain her level of excellence she set in book one. This book expands on the life of a secondary character from book one so it can be read as a standalone, although I would still recommend reading book one as well to get the total picture of this refreshing look at dragon's and witches. Set aside your reading time with some snacks and a beverage, for this will definitely keep you glued to the pages. Totally loved Sabrina's story and I am really looking forward to next in series!

After I finished this book, I just wanted more. Dragons and witches battling to fix old wrongs, what more could you need in a book. The characters are well developed and the plot moves quickly as the suspense builds. I'm hoping that Sabrina and Nicholas and the gang will make more appearances in the future.

Loved it! In a world changed by some kind of disaster, people are trying to survive and build new lives. Sabrina is trying to outrun her father's legacy of carrying slaves. She wants to fly with honor and in walks Nicholas who is set on saving a female shifter and making Sabrina his own. Great story telling and setting. I love happy endings!

I loved Sabrina and Nicholas’ story. Both of them hold a lot of secrets. Sabrina is an air witch and she’s trying to make up for what her father did and restore her family name. Nicholas holds everyone else’s secrets. Secrets he’s not allowed to speak. When her father’s past comes up and threatens her future, Sabrina has to decide between the two.

I downloaded Cerulean Magic as a free book from Amazon. This was an interesting read, with some unusual characters-- a nice change of pace. I enjoyed the story line as well as the protagonists, and there was enough going on with the sub-plots to keep me guessing.

Fantastic

I enjoyed reading every word! This book was not an easy book to read, not the kind of book you can read for only minutes at a time. You need to be able to devote your entire mind to reading. But it is well worth it!!

Decent but the ending ties things up too quickly. All the sudden a bunch of things are perfectly resolved and it doesn't feel natural enough. Good enough beyond that that I'd try more from series.

Great

Very interesting read. Really enjoyed it. I have not read anything like this, an apocalyptic story with witches and dragons. It was a great combination.

Another Great Read. I mean how can you go wrong with dragons and witches.

I loved the previous book, Verdant Magic, which was book 1 when I read it and it now book 2. This book did not disappoint me in the least. That said, this story has a darker feel than the its predecessor. It’s not descriptive, but it’s there and it took me a tad longer to fall in love with the story as it was unexpected.

I loved all the characters: Sabrina, Nicholas, Zach, Steph, and Charlotte. I would love to read more about the last three, especially Zach. Oh, and I would love to read more about Nicholas’s twin Alexander as well.

I enjoyed the way Sabrina and Nicholas's relationship and trust developed throughout the story. Their love and trust became apparent during their mission, but since they had met months beforehand, it didn't feel like instalove to me. I like how each character matured and grew into the realization that they were not responsible for the failings of others.

As in the prior book, I loved that there were new-to-me words sprinkled throughout the story. A few of those words were bosun, incipient, ballast, and approbation.

How is the author's writing? Great
Is there violence? Yes
Is there sexual content? Yes, mostly fade to black
How is the story narrated? Third person
How would you describe the characters? Developed
