Start with a hot anvil, add a little bit of aloha, a failure of an anxiety pig, a whole lotta Elvis Presley, and what do you get? Christmas at River's End Ranch!
Since moving to River’s End Ranch to take over the blacksmith shop, Elvis “Elf” Redfern has been surrounded on all sides by deliriously happy couples in love. And despite his well-earned reputation as a flirt, he’s beyond jealous. He’s ready to find the love of his life—like his sisters have done—and figures that Christmas is just the time to make it happen.
Which probably means that he shouldn’t have taken that bet about kissing the first woman he sees, huh?
Belle Kalani is used to fending off men; as a former beauty queen, she understands that most only want to spend time with her because of her appearance. But Elf is different; he sees past her beauty to the part of her that’s desperate for friendship. And when he reveals a surprising talent, all bets are off when it comes to True Love and Christmas at River’s End Ranch!
Mele Kalikimaka!
Discover River's End Ranch, a gorgeous "destination" ranch and resort in Riston, Idaho, that is run by the six Weston siblings and their well-meaning, semi-retired parents.
Oh, what trouble a simple bet said jokingly, or at least that’s how Elf took it to be, ended up causing Elvis Redfern – new mechanic and resident blacksmith at the River’s End Ranch Resort. Who could have ever imagined that the next woman to walk into Elf’s blacksmith shop immediately after those fateful words were spoken would be this beauty, this lovely lady that Elf really wanted to get to know in a definitely serious way. That silly bet – forgotten with one look into her eyes. Too bad Andrew didn’t forget it later on.
Blacksmith’s Beauty is such a touching romance. You’ll be smiling at Elf’s Southern charms and natural flirty personality, you’ll probably get a good chuckle out of Tootles the anxiety therapy pig who suffers from… wait for it… anxiety herself. But you’ll most likely feel for Belle, a former beauty queen who has more than her share of men taking her at appearances level and never wanting to get past the outer shell that contains her beauty – they don’t see the lovely, lonely girl behind the former Miss Idaho’s smile At the first hint of a flirt’s personality in a man she’s dating or even talking to… and she’s outta there. Now Elf has to work a bit harder to convince Belle that he’s serious, and his flirting isn’t meant to be taken seriously by anyone.
I dare you to not be singing along in your head as some of The King’s, the actual Elvis’ song lyrics pop up here and there throughout this romance. In fact, I double dog dare ya. *grin* It’s impossible… okay, maybe if you’re young and don’t know who Elvis is aside from a music icon.. but really, you have to have heard these songs somewhere in an elevator maybe. Those lyrics add just the right touch as some very important parts of Belle and Elf’s romance.
I always enjoy a visit to the River’s End Ranch and meeting this lovely couple was a special treat. I’d recommend Blacksmith’s Beauty to any Romance reader who enjoys a good story, fun secondary characters and that special magic that is love.

Getting back to the world of River's End Ranch, it's the turn of Elf, the blacksmith. From the very beginning, with the opening chapter, we know what's going to cause the drama in the book as we see him making a bet, and as the relationship between Elf and Belle starts progressing, we all know that it's going to explode one moment or another, and that it's going to cause trouble. The fact that they knew each other so well and had so many things in common made the insta love easier to believe, and their relationship easier to support. I liked how the main characters interacted with one another, and how the pieces fell into place.
Elvis aka Elf Redfern is the new part time mechanic for the River’s End Ranch vehicles and a blacksmith the rest of the time. His smithy is in the Old West Town on the ranch. He works hard to create ornaments and souvenirs to sell in his smithy and at other Old West Town stores as well as online. He does his blacksmith work all with old tools just like the blacksmiths in the old West would have done and he loves his trade. Belle who has come into the smithy looking for her anxiety therapy pig named Tootles. Tootles is supposed to be her aunts anxiety pig, has followed Belle around since her aunt says she gets more anxiety from the therapy pig. Now Belle is the therapy for Tootles as he has anxiety. Who knew an anxiety pig has anxiety himself. She and her family are there at the ranch as their annual Christmas time visit. Her brother and sister are training on she slopes for the Olympic team as well. Belle as it turns out is a former beauty queen as she was Miss Idaho. Elf thinks she is gorgeous and Belle thinks he is gorgeous and they both are. Each wants a real relationship, Elf wants someone who falls for him and not his good looks and the same is for Belle. This is a great contemporary romance that is funny, fun, and adventurous, and with secrets as well. Two people start out as not sure about each other, to friends to falling in love. Of course there are always problems with two people finding each other for who they are and not how they look and at the same time things happen to put them together and tear them apart. This is a must read in the River’s End Ranch series and Caroline Lee has expertly woven together a romance you won’t ever forget. This story also lets you know what is happening with others that live and work at the ranch. It is like a whole town with old friends. I loved this story and I highly recommend you give it a try.
I received this ARC for my honest and unbiased review.
I didn't want this book to end, I was enjoying it so much!!! Having been a huge Elvis Presley fan for over 55 years, I was curious when I read the blurb for this story because anything that mentions Elvis, I get all excited! lol Omigosh, I am SO very glad I decided to read this book because it had me giggling, oohing and aahing, feeling all fuzzy wuzzy and wanting to bake Peanut Butter Blossoms AND getting a pig, not necessarily in that order:)
Elf (Elvis) is the new blacksmith at River's End Ranch and Belle is a former Beauty Queen staying at River's End Ranch with her family for Christmas. And wouldn't you know it, both of them are Elvis Presley fans!!!! Before long they are "All Shook Up" and "Can't Help Falling In Love" before they check into "Heartbreak Hotel" and have a "Blue Christmas" but then "Burning Love" takes over and they "Follow that Dream"! See what I did there? lol
Did I mention how much I absolutely loved this story?!! And really, you don't need to be an Elvis fan to enjoy this book but it makes it extra special if you are:) Caroline Lee has quickly become one of my favourite authors, her sense of humour is brilliant!
This series embodies the old west with modern society. Each story brings the readers closer to those who live in Idaho as part of the original family and those who have made it home. In each story love wins! And in this story the King of Rock and Roll helps out. I dare you not to sing!
Another wonderful book in the River's End Ranch series. Elf is ready to settle down. Watching his sisters find their hea, he wants his. Belle is tired of men who only see her looks never taking the time to get to know what's inside. Clean romance. Each book is a standalone but characters cross over.
This series was light and fun to read. The teamwork of Amelia Adams, Cindy Caldwell, PAMELA Kelly, Caroline Lee, and Kirsten Osbourne has put together 19 stories of love and adventure in the setting of the River's End Ranch. I hope there are more to follow, as some of the characters have not yet found love.
I really enjoyed this story. Once I started it I really didn't want to stop. Unfortunately, had to take some breaks to eat and sleep. This is a very cute story with some rather unusual characters, a therapy pig, some gnomes, fairies and cute bunnies. It's full of Elvis and good clean romance. Any age can read and enjoy.
Caroline Lee writes characters that you feel like you know personally. I love all the Redfern family stories. Elf & Belle are brought together by a failed anxiety therapy pig! Wonderful story just ask the varied at River's End ranch.
Belle, Beauty, Queeny, Elf, Elvis and Belf. Those names make me happy. Although Belvis has a nice ring to it. You have to read it to understand but these names mean something amazing. I loved this so much. It’s my favorite book of the year. Happy dance. Hula dance.
Blacksmith's Beauty by Caroline Lee is another wonderful addition to the River's End Ranch series. It is a touching & sweet love story. I really enjoyed reading it. Fall in love with Elf & Belle. Join everybody on the Ranch for a delightful Christmas story. A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE!!!
Love all the stories of the great River's End Ranch and Elf was such a sweetie - all muscle and brawn but a teddy bear! Tootles is adorable and Belle is so natural and will make a great teacher. Can't wait for book 20!
This was great! Makes me wish our town had a blacksmith. From beginning to end, this book was fabulous! If you're not a Caroline Lee fan, read this book and you will be a fan for life! What a great writer Caroline is!
Looking for some romance, some fun, singing and much more. Then you've come to the right placed. This book is filled with so many out of the ordinary tales, you'll have a hard time putting it down. Get ready to enjoy this romance. H Sony forget the pig...
Peanut Butter Blossom (recipe included), Elf the blacksmith, Belle the Hawaiian beauty and an anxiety pet pig blended through the help of a matchmaker with fairies & gnomes and everything Elvis Presley into a fun Christmas romance, that made me chuckle and laugh. Delightful Caroline Lee.
Elf & Belle He’s a blacksmith and she’s a beauty queen; He is from a warm loving family and she is from a family of over achievers; She has Tootles; He has Muz; She has an online friend that is her closest friend and confidant; He has a irritating friend;
Loved blacksmiths beauty, fun and fast read and really loved the recipe of cookies that were featured thru the book almost a character and integral part of the story. Thank you. 😊👍
What a fun story. Loved tootles. The whole know you before you meet was a fun twist to the story. And who doesn't love Elvis? Elf (Elvis) and Belle are perfect for each.
