Wonderful story of life in Northwestern Florida during the last century. Great perspectives on how rural customs differ from "modern" societal standards of living. Easy to connect with the characters and empathize with them throughout the book, cheering with them through their successes and hoping they make it through their struggles. A book about life in Florida, but also about family dynamics, the impact of war, and how rapidly technology changed during the 1900s.
