Lucía Ashta is the internationally top 20 bestselling author of young adult, new adult, and adult paranormal and urban fantasy books, including the series Magical Creatures Academy, Witches of Gales Haven, Smoky Mountain Pack, and Supernatural Bounty Hunter.
When Lucía isn't writing, she's reading, painting, or adventuring. Magical fantasy is her favorite, but the action, romance, and quirky characters are what keep her hooked on books.
As soon as I got this book from the author I immediately tore in to it. I knew from reading previous books written by Lucia Ashta, that I wouldn't be able to do much of anything else until I finished this one. There are no ordinary words on the pages of Ms Ashta's books, as each page usually has some profound philosophical thoughts. Sometimes it took me reading some paragraphs more than once in order to fully absorb what I had read. This is an incredible series! One which I will continue to read until the end (although I hope it never ends). This book is very well written as are all of this author's books. This is a story of magic, light and dark, where the protagonist and her group attempts to rescue the ginger cat she believes to be her sister, Gertrude, and try to defeat the dark magic of Count Washur, who was responsible for transforming Gertrude into a cat. Eventually, mayhem breaks out when good magic fights evil dark magic and no one is left unaffected. All are tragically affected in one way or the other, and so we are all left to wait impatiently for the next book in the series to find out how it eventually turns out. Ghaaaaaaaaa!
Lucia Ashta is one of my favorite authors so, no surprise, I tore into this as soon as I got it. I'm glad I did. It was superb. The Witching World had been an amazing series to date and, if anything, The Ginger Cat raises the bar. I'm not going to summarize it as the kindle blurb and other reviewers have done a good job of that. Instead I will simply note that this book is wonderfully written, with a plot that works perfectly and lead and supporting characters (new and old, friend and foe) that are well crafted layers and "real". A truly pleasurable read, I can only recommend this book as highly as possible.
BUMPY ROAD AHEAD!!! Man, I have to hand it to Lucia, she really tells an animated tale with all the trimmings. This entire series is priceless as Lucia is so passionate when she writes it's like she's weaving parts of herself along the way. Her characters and their personalities are unique and tend to play off one another brilliantly. She brings each scene in such vivid detail it's like I'm part of the cast as well. Lucia did an excellent job bringing this read together beautifully. Fantastic job Lucia, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.

Best chapter ever. In the "Ginger Cat" we return to the story of Clara and Marcelo. Along with the magical Mordecai, Sir Lancelot (a owl) and Sylvia (a firedrake), they go after Count Washer (pure evil). They take on all the evil of his castle, and him. Which leaves two of their number the worst for wear.. Find out how Clara's dead Grand-mere is involved and who is near death. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Oh my god what a fabulous story the ginger cat is! Every book so far in this series has been phenomenal!
How Can you not fall in love With Marcelo, cat then Mortdecai? They tried. to do right and Counteract wrong
they go to rid the evil in the world and run into all kinds of different evil traps will they be successful? I can’t reveal that you’ll have to read the book but it’s phenomenal I promise you that
Bravo Lucia! The Ginger Cat is magic, mayhem, action and adventure from beginning to end.More new characters arrive that are very well described in this escalation of magic. Clara's magic continues to grow remarkably. The fight between light and darkness grows with great detail. i received this book in return for an honest review by the author.
Clara continues to grow in both confidence and ability. With the Runes once again predicting a familiar face racing towards them, she sets out with Marcelo and Mordicai to put an end to Count Washur's threat and rescue her sister and Marcelo's nephew.
I've said it before and I will say it again, I love this series and read this book in one sitting as I could not put it down.
The ultimate battle of good vs evil. There's lots of drama and almost too much detail but overall it's a good book.
I was glad to finally see some type of connection between Clara and Marcelo. I know the series is all about her finding herself, but I was beginning to think we would never see her feelings. Everyone needs to learn how to communicate better. It would make things so much easier.
I loved this book! Each book in the series just keep getting better and better. I highly recommend this book. Clara's struggles are very real sand relatable. I could not put it down. I can't wait for the next one.
This author has areal way of drawing one into her story. Fortunately our hero's are moving forward. Looks like most of the villains will get theirs. Must know what happens next.
Why does the author love to write about clara becoming her own woman but fail to give her any actual power in defending herself when it truly counts? also the author can cut at least 30-40% of the dialogue. All the characters like to hear the sound of their own voices too much.
From the first book this series is amazing me with the depth of each character. I feel as if they are friends and family reading breathlessly to discover each development in the myriad of my newest family members.
Pretty good book. Much more excitement than previous books. Although they survived the Count again, I am sure we haven't seen the last of him even with the punishment doled out by Mordecai.
Seems like it’s taken forever to get something good to happen but it finally did. But a truly good book gives more questions then answers which this one did .
