Indian philosophy has largely remained unknown to most people coz it has been categorized as Hindu texts which have been sidelined from schools and colleges, in the name of secularism. This book can easily be used as a seminal textbook for an introductory course on Indian philosophy. Academic rigor can be seen in most chapters. The chapters on Sankhya, Yoga and Vedanta are written with great clarity while the chapter on Mimamsa appears overglorified in my opinion. More figures could have been used to simplify concepts in the Nyaya chapter and a concluding chapter with a comparison at ontological and epistemological levels could have been included. Overall, one can read this book to get some initial insights on the diffrerent schools of Indian philosophical thought.
