He’s a rock star destroying himself to ease his guilt.
Maddox Colt is pissed as hell. Yes, he’s been labeled “messed up” in the press lately, but he has a reason. Right now, the alcohol and bad choices cover the pain. But, the label for Maddox’s band is done with his antics. They’ve delivered an ultimatum, add a girl to the group for a fresh new look and sound, or they’ll be dropped. He may be forced into this decision, but he’s sure as hell not going to like it. That all changes the moment he hears Sailor Blue sing.
She’s determined to forget her painful past.
Sailor Blue is so good at faking being happy she’s beginning to believe it herself. Tending bar in downtown LA pays the bills just fine and she’s even managed to make some friends. She’s doing her best to forget and move on. Losing herself in work and music helps. Until one night her life is forever changed with an invitation to audition for the band Graffiti.
Together they’ll write a new melody.
Their love of music brought them together, and if they dare to accept their unspoken love for each other they can realize that broken melodies can be whole.
Author Jennifer Miller is an award-winning and best-selling author. Her books are contemporary romance and the focus ranges from new adults, romantic comedies and sports romance.
A beautiful story of two souls that found each other through their passion of music. Both struggling with their pasts of heartache and need to love each other swept me in and had me intrigued on what is next for this couple. Beautiful, musical love story
OMG, this was such a good book! I love rockstar stories anyway, but this one was something special. This was the first thing I’ve read by Jennifer Miller, but it certainly won’t be the last. This book made me laugh and made me cry. Such an emotional roller coaster! I am so happy that there will be additional books in this series, and I can’t wait to read the next one! Definitely worth all five of those stars!
There is just something about a cocky rocker. Broken Melody was amazing. I couldn't put it down and need more from them asap. Had everything I love . There was fun banter, angst, heartmelting, swooning, steamy sexy time... sigh .... just a fantastic read.
Two characters brought together by fate in the music industry. Their first meeting was so funny to read and set the banter between the two. I liked both Sailor (love the name!) and Maddox individually but loved them together. I got visuals in my head of the photo shoot. As the story unfolds we learn of their backgrounds, and I have to say did not see Sailor's coming at all!
musical love story that will hook you. two trouble people finding love one note at a time! Jennifer Miller has the ability to deliver a story that is both captivating and raw. This is one of those books that you will sigh and hope to fall in love with!! MUST HAVE
I absolutely loved Maddox and Sailor. What a truly beautiful love story for 2 people with tragic pasts. This book made me laugh and cry. The only sad part was not being able to actually hear them sing together. Definitely a Must read.
This is the first book I've read by Jennifer Miller and I know I'll be binge reading the rest of her books! I love Maddox and Sailor's chemistry and the way she fit in with the rest of the band. A sweet heartwarming story with a twist at the end I didn't see coming.
Jennifer Miller is a new author to me and I went into this book thinking it would be your usual, cocky rockstar read. Boy was I wrong! Broken Melody was a deeply emotional, heartbreaking story of love, loss and the secrets that never allow us to fully be free. Maddox Colt may look like the cocky, bad boy rocker on the outside. That's what people that don't know him see. But behind the drinking, party and getting in trouble is a broken man. Then he meets, Sailor Blue. The outspoken, beautiful, "songbird", that is hiding behind a happy exterior, but also has a troubled past with secrets of her own. Their chemistry is explosive, yet neither want to give in to it. With a wonderful cast of side characters I loved every minute of this book. Will Maddox and Sailor end up together and will these two broken souls find the music of their hearts? You will have to read to find out!
Because of the behavior of their lead singer, the band Graffiti is being forced to add a new member. A new female member. Sailor is happy with her life. Tending bar and rocking karaoke when she's recruited to audition for the new spot in the band. Is this her life? Can good things like this happen to her? And more importantly, can she and Maddox work together without killing each other?
Holy Hotness there are some new book boyfriends in town. I love rockstar romance books though at times the narcissism is so over the top in a lot of them that it gets a little old. This story was NOT that (yeah). In this book we get introduced to Maddox and his hot bandmates. Yes initially I thought Maddox has some significant ego issues but as the story unfolds, you really start to understand what is motivating him. We also get to meet Sailor, amazing bartender/singer, who gets discovered by singing karaoke in the bar she works in. The beginning of the story is about how Sailer is approached to sing in Maddox's band. Because of bad publicity, it is felt that the band needs to reinvent themselves. Without giving any more of the storyline away, let me tell you what I like. I love the process of how the story unfolds. You know that you don't have the full picture and this author keeps teasing you and adding small bits of information that helps you developing a clearer picture. Yes she is kinda brilliant that way (wink wink). The emotional journey of this story is wonderful. I was tickled, intrigued, and even saddened at times. This story also has a strong pivotal moment for me that had me reeling and I was VERY surprised. Another element that I love in this book is the ensemble of rich characters that I know I am just getting a taste of. I am dreaming about the future stories in the works with the supporting characters cause this author never disappoints. Having said that, this book is a stand alone and can be read without reading any of this author's other works. She is amazing and well worth the read. Happy Reading!!!
Broken Melody is part of the Graffiti on tour series, and introduces us to the guys in the band, on their quest to rebuild their image after some bad publicity.
In comes Sailor and her best friend Britt. Sailor is a bartender at a popular spot in Hollywood that feautures karaoke. She graces the stage with her presence frequently, and her world is rocked when she is discovered by one of the leading industry guys, and the agent of Graffiti.
Maddox is a troubled soul who has been acting out, and the press have been having a field day with it. His bandmates, and those close to him, know he is acting out for a reason, and they want to do anything to keep going with their label and keeping their band together. Even if it means adding a female to the mix. they all have their qualms about it, but the decision has been made for them, and they have to suck it up, or take the risk of losing everything they worked so hard for.
Broken Melody is a story about change, but there are many hidden elements in the story. Jennifer Miller wonderfully weaves a tale dealing with grief, bottled up emotions, the foster system, and familial (kind of?) abuse. She shows us that even through all the losses Maddox and Sailor have faced, that love can overcome it all, and help begin the healing process.
I loved seeing the characters develop, and the world unfolding around me as i turned the pages. I can't wait to find out more about the other members of the band, and see this series expand.

God, this was my kind of love story. The kind that from page one sucks you in. You can in an instant picture the world you are about to lose yourself in and everything around you fades away. Jennifer Miller created a love story that touches the soul of both the characters she writes and the readers that get lost in her words.
Sailor Blue, what a name. A perfect heroine with a mix of sass, sex and the best friend you long to have and Maddox Colt, sexy, bearded, and bruting but sweet and sensitive. The development of the main and secondary characters are perfect.
Broken Melody is almost a slow burn but not quite, from the beginning Sailor and Maddox see each other for more than what's on the surface. Both having emotional pasts to overcome, I was surprised as to how these stories they hold close brought them together instead of forming a wedge between them.
Jennifer introduces us to a book world I can't wait see come more and more to life in what will hopefully be a long Graffiti on Tour series. Don't hesitate to pick up this 5 star read now!
I love a good rockstar romance and Jennifer Miller definitely delivers in this latest book!! This is the story of Sailor and Maddox. Sailor works as a bartender at a bar that does karaoke. She loves to go on stage and sing while at work and one night she catches the attention of one of the leading agents who happens to be the agent to one of the hottest bands...Graffiti. Maddox has his own demons that cause him to go off the rails and of course catches the eye of the press. In order to clean up the image, they bring Sailor on board.
I absolutely fell in love with them both. There are a lot of twists and turns throughout their story and I was hooked from the very beginning and didn't want to see it end. It goes to show that love can heal, love can overcome all obstacles.
I can't wait to see what is in store next for the Graffiti On Tour series! I highly recommend this book to everyone. Another 5 star read from Jennifer Miller...well done!!
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
This is my first book by Jennifer Miller and I absolutely loved it. It was a perfect read at a perfect time for me. I can seriously say I want to be Sailor Blue. I love how she’s mysterious, all natural and doesn’t take crap from anyone but deep down she’s hurting. Than you have Maddox, the typical rocker bad boy who keeps getting into trouble because he’s also hurting. Throw in some awesome side characters and you seriously have a great read. I would have liked Sailors past to have been spread out a little more through out the story. We do find out a little bit when she’s talking to Maddox but we don’t get any details until the very end of the book when shit hits the fan and she ends up having to tell everyone, everything. But I will say that this is the first book in the Graffiti on Tour Series and I can’t wait to find out more about these two. Especially if someone from Maddox past comes back to haunt him *wink-wink*. Not sure if that will happen but you never know. I can’t wait for the next book.
I really wanted to give this story five stars and wish I could do a Q&A with the author because several parts of this story left me with more questions than answers. This book is well written and has great characters but the first 3/4 of the book was mostly business, lacking depth and details. I totally understand drawing out the element of mystery but in this case it left the story lopsided. We go from the baby pool to jumping off the high dive it seems with emotional details, back story and pasts. Which unfortunately removed the believable chemistry for the lead roles. The timeline for the bands success and big "thing" that takes place in Maddox's life all seems unlikely. Three months of fame and recovering from what he did- just seemed a bit unbelievable and confusing with how that relates to his connection with Sailor. Miller is an excellent writer beyond some of those semantics that I felt in this book and look forward to reading some of her other work.
Dang it! Jennifer Miller you did it a-freaking-gain!!! This story about two broken souls who find themselves in a position neither ever thought they'd be in, is so utterly beautiful, heartbreaking, and so damn sexy.
I love a good rockstar romance, and Maddox Colt definitely brings out his rocker bad attitude, and it's phenomenal. Because he's acting out and making bad press for his band, they're forced to take on a new band mate. And not just any band mate, a female member. They're all against the change, but Maddox is especially.
Poor Maddox doesn't stand a chance when he meets the gorgeous, bartender/songbird. Her heart sings the perfect melody along with his. What starts off as a love/hate relationship, quickly turns into so much more.
I can't tell you how much I adored this story, and I'm so glad there will be more of Maddox and Sailor in the future. I definitely need more of these two. I'd also love to see each band member get their own story.
I don't know how she does it but Jennifer Miller always knocks them out of the park. This book........its just amazing. As with most of her work, it just sucks you in and before you know it, its 3am and you know your day the next day is shot!!!
Maddox and Sailor are two damaged souls that manage to find each other. You want to root for Sailor before you even know what her damage is. And Maddox, you want to slap his attitude around but then you find out why its there and you just want to make it all better for him.
Ms. Miller has a way of bringing her characters to life in a way that makes you feel like you are reading about real people. Like someone is telling you a story about their friends, friends you can relate to and want to have in your life. I can't wait to see what she has in store next for us in the story of Maddox and Sailor but I know it will be simply amazing.
Maddox and Sailor have stolen position as my OTP!!
I haven't had a OTP takeover in so long. Like legit. Maddox and Sailor are so perfectly molded and fit so well together. When Jennifer Miller announced this book I knew I was go into love it. I knew wouldn't get enough of the story, the mini heart attack was definitely worth it, but dagnabit! I have to wait for more! Sheesh! Okay, I'm serious now. Sailor's background brought back memories of my own from being in a foster family. I might be with my family now, but any time I hear or read about someone who doesn't go back with their family, or doesn't have family to return to, it really does break my heart. Jennifer captured that essence so well. I was crying just now!
I have actually read it twice now, that is how much I enjoyed it. The chemistry the characters have with each other is fantastic, Maddox makes quite the splash of a first impression on Sailor and it just gets better from there. Both characters are a bit broken but become pretty whole together. There are a lot of little things that they do for each other that just gives their relationship more depth and the book has enough fun, sexiness, sassiness, intensity and drama that just keeps you reading. I can't wait for more of their story, as well as Britt's and more about the other guys from Graffiti.
*Not a cliffhanger in case you are wondering because of the "can't wait for more of their story", just the promise of more from the author.

This was a sweet musically invested story. The characters are likable, believe and the emotions in which they show are realistic. Which is always a great thing to have when it comes to characters. I could easily see myself being friends Sailor and falling head over heals for Maddox. The dialog flowed between the cast of band mates, best friends and secondary cast members.
I was somewhat let down my the big reveal as for some reason it just didn't fit in the story line to me. But I will say it was unpracticed as that was not what I thought was the twist.
Overall this book good, would I read book two in order to get my unanswered questioned answered ( Because I was left with some)? I most definitely would pick it.
I was up until 145am last night finishing this! I loved it! It was sweet, sexy and snarky! References to some of my favorite things sprinkled in with humor! It had me hooked right away which is something I love best in a book. Great descriptions of emotion that really drew me in. A lot of times when authors get descriptive I find myself skimming through those parts. Jennifer entertains you and effects you when she takes the story in that direction. Adding so much more to her characters. I cant wait for more in this series! This was my first book by this author.. I'm off to devour all the rest!! Loved loved it!!
5 well deserved stars! This book was freaking amazing. I FLOVE Sailor & Maddox. This story is a rollercoaster, just when you think you know where it's going it turns left and surprises you in the greatest way possible. The chemistry between them is real, and the level of intimacy Jennifer is able to create between them is truly masterful. This isn't just another rockstar romance, it's so much more. The characters are fun and believable and the love scenes are the perfect blend of sweet and steamy. Hands down one of Jennifer's best books to date.
Hermosa historia.
First time reading anything by Jennifer Miller, I don't know how it why. She's phenomenal, this book grabbed me from the first page and I couldn't put it down. Maddox, is everything I love in a hero of a story hurt and broken by his past but still giving and caring. Same with Sailor, she's been through more then most but that doesn't stop her. Happily ever after and great storyline!
Maddox and Sailor are adorable! Sailor is a firecracker that keeps Maddox on his toes from the moment they met. Which is an interesting scene itself lol. Maddox is lead singer of a band with a pretty bad rep due to anger issues hes dealing with. They have both struggled with some seriously tragic events. They are amazing together and I cant wait to read more about them when the time comes!!
The author surpassed my expectations with this amazing book of two peoples journey to find love and peace in their lives. I love the rock and roll romance stories and this one will definitely keep you captivated throughout. Looking forward to reading more books from this author!
