Welcome to the final book of the 3 H's The Hell! Susie and Mac are ghost hunters. They investigate and exorcise haunted houses for a living. A client hires Susie and Mac to investigate a house in Lexington, SC. Although they are experienced in handling malignant spirits and haunted territories, the client promises that this place is unlike any the ghost hunters have exorcised before. Susie and Mac never back down from a challenge, or from a job. They'll make their way to the house, and encounter the hell that's waiting for them. Whether they can survive or not is a different question. * Gregory Alex Bailey built his perfect house of horrors in the 1950’s, continuing the family tradition of sacrifice and murder. Within that house, he was certain that he could succeed where former ancestors had failed, and secure a place for them in the land of the living. Lucas didn’t want to continue his father’s legacy. Out of love for his son, Gregory killed him. Lucas gained his second chance through his resurrection, when the loyal and devoted Janice made the ultimate sacrifice for him. Lucas' new life gave him an appreciation for his father, who had long disappeared by the time Lucas came back. Desperate to see his father again, Lucas did all he could to maintain the house, while training his children in the family tradition. Like the father before them, the children rebelled. Lucas understood. As he had rebelled, so did his father, and his grandfather before him. But sooner or later, every Bailey accepted their fate. Eventually, they would all share... The Hell

My name is Brian Barr. I am a published fiction author. Along with novels and short stories, I've also written comic books, including the Empress series with Chuck Amadori. I am NOT the author of God's Plan for Us, written by some other Brian Barr.

My debut novel is Carolina Daemonic, Book I: Confederate Shadows. My second novel is Psychological Revenge: The First Super Inc. Novel, and I have a short story collection called Daemensions. All books are out now on Amazon, for Kindle and Print.

Carolina Daemonic is a dystopian alternative timeline urban fantasy-horror with LGBT, steampunk, and occult elements.

Psychological Revenge is a fun, campy superhero novel with zany villains and lots of action.

Check out my short stories, some of which are in anthologies, a few reprinted on Kindle for .99 cents.

The Hell
The 3 H's, Book 3
By: Brian Barr
Narrated by: Rick Gregory
This is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary.
This is the third book in the series and it didn't effect the story by me not reading the first two. I like good ghost stories but this goes beyond a regular ghost story to a horror ghost story! It was a good horror story! It was about two ghost hunters at a house with a very messed up family history! Wow! Didn't expect some of these things.
The narrator was great! Really added suspense, terror, and the extra needed at the right time. Great job!

"The imagination used to come up with the back story of the Bailey’s and to create the world we would all know as hell, is unique. Yes, there are similarities with the same hell that you have probably read about hundreds of times, but Mr Barr makes it his own. It is as if he made it up specifically for this book and no one had ever thought of it before."

The first two books in the series moved very nicely between scenes. I grew a strong liking to the "Head" found in the garden. The House had a nice entry to the deep dark corridors within the attic. And now.... Hell.

Ghost hunters come into play and Barr gets deeper into the origins of the house. A lot of characters at this point came into play and I feel as though I got lost inside the house with them.
Susie (one of those Ghost Hunters) her character had a tough guy, tomboy attitude dropping F bombs. She made me laugh.

Overall Brian Barr has created a very interesting trilogy opening the doors to a Hell of a ride.

Try not to lose any body parts along the way!

The Hell was a great end to The 3 H's trilogy. The series starts out a bit funny and gruesome but gets less funny and more gruesome with each book. The Hell was the most gruesome, telling the history of the family and the house. The ending was an interesting twist! I enjoyed the narration by Rick Gregory!

This is a solid book and I definitely recommend, it is not the best audiobook out there; but it is disturbing and entertaining to a point that prevents you from putting this story down. Now it is pretty short especially considering this is a trilogy at just over 5 hours long; but it was a good length for this particular tale. With that said lets talk about the STORY.

The first book, “The head” revolves around Elizabeth a antisocial woman that finds a head in her mothers garden, the head talks to Elizabeth and convinces her to take Bill home with her, where she falls madly in love with him. As weird as this sounds it only gets weirded as Bill convinces Elizabeth to take Bill to his body that is stored in his house in the attic. This don’t end to well for dear Elizabeth and this is where book 2 “The house” begins, with Alexis Bills sister looking for help from a retired Occult detective to help her recover her heart that is stored in the house of her and Bill, to help her escape, we get a bit more information on to this craziness and if you could not imagine it did not end to good for our detective, this is where Book 3 starts, the Hell. Here we meet Suzy who see spirits and goes on a mission to destroy the house and the evil family who have done so much damage, this was probably the strongest book of the 3 and delved deeper into this weird collection of stories and events.

It is weird and a bit jarring, its not perfect but I enjoyed the story and at the end that is all I expect from a story.

Rick Gregory is not the best narrator I have heard; but he did a good job, he was able to draw me into the story which is the most important job of a narrator, I did get characters mixed up from time to time which is not uncommon across narrators I have listened to; but I was impressed with his performance.

That leaves us with listenability, would I listen to this story again? At 5 hours long, this is a good bite sized story that I can see myself going through it again, I will probably leave this for Halloween or Friday the 13th occasions and will definitely share this with my friends and family again due to its weirdness.

I would give this book 3 and half stars it was above average and a book that is definitely worth checking out, I enjoyed the story and the weird place it took me.

This final installment is quite a bit more serious! Book 1 had some humor and even a touch of romance to it. Book 2 showed us how twisted that romance was but still had some quips and sarcasm here and there. This book is quite a bit darker. We take a walk through the Bailey family tree as we meet Gregory, the grandfather, and he reigns down a type of hell on the occupants of the house. Never fear though! The ladies have been coming up with an escape plan…. of sorts.

So eventually we get to meet the paranormal investigators Susie and Mac. They’ve been doing this for some time and both are sensitive to the paranormal. Susie receives a desperate plea from a client to take out the Bailey house. Alas, arson is not in Susie’s skill set and pretty much goes against her morals.

But then we meet Mac’s new friend. That’s a game changer for Susie! This story was full of unexpected twists and I was delighted with each one. The ending winds up and up to a fever pitch as evil throws punches at good and good-ish kicks back. Not everyone gets what they want by the end (and that’s great for us rooting for Susie and booing Gregory) but things end on a rather positive note. I wasn’t expecting that but it was nonetheless quite suitable for this trilogy. 5/5 stars.

I received a free copy of this book.

The Narration: Rick Gregory has done a good job narrating this series but I found this book narration could have used just a little polishing. There’s a few mispronounced words and sometimes the pacing is just a little off. Over all though, it’s a good performance. I can tell that Gregory is fully engaged in the story (perhaps because the Big Baddie is named Gregory?). He had distinct voices for all the characters and his female voices were feminine. 4/5 stars.

This is the third and final installment of the 3 H’s by Brian Barr. We finally know the past of the House in Lexington, and the origin of the family living there. On this occasion Suzie and Mac, two ghost hunters are contacted by a client to investigate and exorcise the house. Things will not be easy for the ghost hunters.

The first book in the series was the most trivial one, the second was gruesome, and this one was terrifying. It was interesting to know the origin of the house and the family, and find an explanation for strange phenomena occurring there. I found it entertaining and I enjoyed the two ghost hunters and the dangers they met. There are numerous flashbacks in this one, and I needed to pay special attention to avoid getting lost and recognize when the action was occurring.

Rick Gregory’s narration was mostly correct, but I noticed several audio edits, which were a bit distracting. The characters are well portrayed, and in general it was an enjoyable narration.

I received a copy of this book in audio format from the narrator in exchange for an honest review.

The final outstanding conclusion to the trilogy. This story works easily on its own. All three of the stories simply having the same setting: namely the evil hell house and the diabolic family. This is the longest of the three, but it does not drag. Nor does it disappoint. An excellent conclusion to the story.

A fitting end to the 3hs trilogy

The end of the three hs trilogy by author Brian Barr. Must have researched quite a bit. A lot of symbolism and unlike a lot of authors who write about gods and goddesses he actually made sense. Another fine tale. Mark my words he's going to be big one day.

Finally completed the series
This was a master piece
Definitely had some evil dude's have some comeuppance for their evil deeds.
I really liked Susie's character as well as her ghost hunting buddie Mac in this book, including the ending. I strongly recommend reading all three of the books 😁
