The Nephilim #3

Speak Thy Name

Rate this book
Damien can't believe how wrong he was about Samantha Brody. The woman of his dreams, the woman he fired over theft, is as innocent as a newborn lamb. Now Damien has to decide if it's worth upending his entire life to bring Sam into his world. Finding out she already knows about his Nephilim ties makes him even more leery of putting her in danger. Nothing is worth Sam's life, not even his growing feelings for her. When she does him a favor Sam winds up in his world faster than Damien can say "Shem." He takes her to Gabriel, where the two begin to build their relationship. The Shem don't take lightly to others butting into their business, especially when it involves missing Nephilim. With the Shem hot on their heels can Sam and Damien finally find the love they haven't put into words?

Dana Marie Bell

Dana Marie Bell wrote her first short story when she was thirteen years old. She attended the High School for Creative and Performing Arts for creative writing, where freedom of expression was the order of the day. When her parents moved out of the city and placed her in a Catholic high school for her senior year she tried desperately to get away, but the nuns held fast, and she graduated with honors despite herself.

Dana has lived primarily in the Northeast (Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, to be precise), with a brief stint on the US Virgin Island of St. Croix. She lives with her soul-mate and husband Dusty, their two maniacal children, an evil ice-cream stealing cat and a bull terrier that thinks it’s a Pekinese.

Enjoyed this as it made more sense than book one. Not holding my breath for book four though.
This made more sense for me now I understand this world and its characters.
Great story that has a lot happening on a few different fronts.
Like Samantha and Damian as a couple.
The interaction and comradery of this group is lovely to be around.
We get the missing Rafe rescued, find out why Eli the Oracle has not been able to come help.
But I really don’t understand the O/W drama with Marcy, totally unneeded in this story.
Loved Sam’s two dogs and want to know what will happen to the children they saved.
Really want the stories for the rest of the gang and to find out how they will deal with the questions raised in this book.
Really wanting to read Piotr’s and Andrea’s story but it looks like that will be a long way off. Very annoying to find out that book four is not even started and the author is planning on starting or has started quite a few other new series.
How about finishing/adding to the existing series we are all waiting for, before planning new ones?
As much as I really do enjoy this authors books, I will not be starting any new series by this author.
Proofreading for errors needs to be improved.

I’m a recent new comer to this series and really enjoyed the previous books. I thought the book was good but I think there may have been more angst between Sam and Damien in the prior book. It seems like the couple worked through their “issues” with a “I’m sorry” and some flowers in chapter 2. I would have required a bit more than a coke and smile if your actions prevented me from moving forward in my professional life. Mama has bills to pay and mouths to feed….. but that is just me.

The remaining book pushed the story arch forward and brought in a new element. It was fun to see the interaction between the “brothers” but this was not the strongest story in the group. That being said, I can’t wait for Piotr and Andrea’s story.

I finally feel there has been some world building in this series, which makes me super happy. I felt the romance between Sam and Damien, which has building from at least the second book was a little fast or maybe I should say lopsided. But there is so much going on in this series now (and my fu-bo list will be growing!) and I cannot wait until the next book is going to be released.

But to be honest, I feel that way about all of Dana Marie Bell's books so . . .

I enjoyed this book immensely. I was kind of worried at the excerpts on FB that we would have more details on the ex-girlfriend, but glad those details were omitted. There was more interaction among the other Nephilim in this Cell, which was great. The story was fast moving. I think this particular series is one of my favourite by Ms. Bell, and hope we don't have to wait three to four years for the next one. I also hope that all of these guys get their HEA as well

This was not one of my favorites. I did love it but then again I love all of Dana's books.

Sam is a loveable character. I love her geekiness, and she's an animal lover.
Damien after trusting the wrong person redeemed himself.
He has different powers than the other Nephilim. Fighting hand to hand is not one of his strong suits.

I can't wait to see who the next book is about.

Maybe I'm vindictive but she forgave him so easily.
Loved the cast of characters and how the Cells got some depth in the sense that they aren't all well trained and some leaders are idiots.
Looking forward to the next installment!

Very excited to read something by Dana Marie Bell after the Publishing house closed. If you think back on it it makes sense about Eli. I can not wait for anything else in the works by this author.
