Attending a co-worker’s Halloween party dressed as a sexy fairy was the worst decision Shelby Maxwell made all week. That is until she lets her temper get the best of her in front of Dallas’s finest and ends up in the back of a police cruiser. Too bad the gorgeous jerk responsible for her bad behavior didn’t have the sense to avoid the police, himself.

When someone shoots up the party, the gorgeous jerk, Nick Kang, sprouts fur, explodes out of the police cruiser, and saves the day. Nick’s jerk streak continues as he leaves Shelby to explain what happened.

After her name is released to the press, a penitent Nick arrives to protect Shelby from the killer’s mafia associates. Close quarter guarding leads to close quarter groping and a little more intimacy than Shelby is prepared for. But it may be time to put her past behind her and accept far more than the safety Nick offers.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

So I have to admit the blurb made me giggle and that it why I asked Anya for the book. Because I figure if I giggled reading it, I would be giggling through the whole book annnnnd I was right. Also side note, If you have talked with Anya or know Anya then you might think like me…she is Shelby. Every time she said something sarcastic or let her loudmouth face talk, I heard Anya’s voice!! LOL

Shelby is so over DB’s but that seems to be her lot in life. While at a party another DB strolls up to her annnnd gets her arrested! LOL Sucks right!! Well the DB actually did her a solid by ya know, saving her life when the bad guys start shooting up the squad car she and he are in.

SO now Shelby has to deal with what happened in the car annnnd lemme tell ya A LOT more happened in the car plus she is a suspect in several police officer’s murders. Bad day gone worse right??? When she has a double date and the DB guy…ok his name is Nick, is her date…..stunned doesn’t even begin to cut it.

The banter is hilarious between these two. Nick is really draw to Shelby. She hates to admit it but she too is drawn to him. When things begin to happen all around them, Nick had to involve his Alpha and other pack members to help his woman……..but will she be his woman???? Is she his woman? Can he get her to allow him to claim her with a bite and all????

The couple both need to stop and talk about what is happened because a miscommunication between them causes some difficulties in a possible future together.

I really am not sure whose book I want next more…do I want fun loving Matty or extra broody Kreigh?? Me thinks Kreigh!!! Oh Oh Oh but Detective Ed Dais had me saying HRMMMM like how does he KNOW about Nick and Shelby??? HMMM

I so enjoyed this read it had me turning pages to see what Shelby would say next. She doesn’t hold back. What kind of girl is Shelby well let me just say when she goes to Halloween party where she dressed as a fairy, and not in the Tinker Bell fairy kind of way, when she runs in to the biggest jerk ever Nick and we see her personality shine. What’s a girl to do when being treated like this she lets loose and finds herself in the back of a police cruiser with the Jerk. Thinking her biggest issue is going to jail only things go terribly wrong and she finds herself in a strange and unbelievable predicament. Just when she thought no biggie I will never see him again she is pulled out on a double date with her bestie only to find she is face to face with the Halloween party Jerk. Now that she finds herself in the center of danger Nick takes it upon himself to protect her. Nick has found his one but Shelby has no idea what that entails only that she is up for a little fun but when Nick has to bring in back up she finds her life may have to take a change of course. Is she ready for that? Can she be what Nick needs?

I loved seeing Nick and Shelby’s personalities show when they are with one another. Shelby had me chuckling and turning the pages to see what was going to happen next. Not only did I enjoy Shelby and Nick but I also found myself wanting to know more about the side characters also. I enjoyed this book and cannot wait to read more of this series.

WOW. I loved Shelby's foul mouth. She just tells it like it is. She doesn't care what people think...oh yeah and she is an accountant. Cracks me up. Shelby's personality is not the normal accountant.

Nick had an instant attraction to Shelby at the Halloween party they both attended. They ended up handcuffed and in the backseat of a squad car. Nick protected Shelby from being killed by gunfire. He morphed into a bear while Shelby watched is disbelief. Shelby was an unknown witness to corruptness and murder. She had a target on her back. Nick was her protector. Shelby desire for Nick grew and Nick would act hard to get...trying to get Shelby to make a heart decision. He would leave her sexually frustrated which pissed her off even more and fired up that foul mouth of hers.

I loved the draw between Shelby and Nick even though she didn't want to admit it. She just wanted laid and Nick was leaving her with blue balls. Shelby continued to need protection from the mob from the Halloween events.

Yes...our Shelby gets marked by Nick and man does she love it. She knows that now she is doomed. No other man will do and she is now Nick's. She enjoys every "o" moment of it.

So, Anya, what do you have in store in Book #2?

Holy fury hotness! I am a shifter fanatic but have never read about were-bears! And guess what? I love them too! Shelby’s and Nick’s chemistry is intense. Palpable. You can freaking touch the angst, the sarcasm, the innuendos…..You will feel like you are Shelby! The love hate relationship she has with Nick is freaking HILARIOUS! And the way his cockiness seems to get in the way of absolutely every single conversation they have will have you wanting more! Shelby ends up being in the wrong place at the wrong time and gets a first hand look at shifter Nick. She is brought in for questioning after a shooting but can’t divulge all the details. As a hit is put on her Nick takes it upon himself to protect her. He is every bit a butthead and tells her this first hand but they need each other. There is a push/pull between them that keeps this story rocking. It is full of action and suspense and is an absolute page turner but the witty banter is what is going to keep you on your toes constantly turning those pages to see what else can happen next. Her loudmouthed face will strike again! I absolutely love this bear pack and cannot wait to see what else is in store for us. To the author, you had me in stitches, squirming and tapping my toes!!!!!!! Love it!
