Omega’s Choice is a delightfully exciting paranormal romance filled with wolf shifters, witches, orgres and magic. Princess Helena Lichtenberg and Alpha Aldric Frost are two strong, appealing characters that easily draw readers into their story when Helena chooses Aldric to be her alpha mate. The romance is sweet, the passion is stirring and the heat is smoking hot but their relationship has a few obstacles to be overcome along with some emotional vulnerabilities that tugs at reader’s hearts. The fast paced and smooth flowing plot is full of excitement and danger that gets the adrenaline pumping as Helena and Aldric go up against a dark force that must be stopped, one that attempts to kidnap the Princess and however many Omegas that they can for their evil purposes. I was surprisingly delighted by this story although I can’t help but wish that it had been a bit longer with a bit more fleshing out, but the world is well developed and has several unique elements that makes for a refreshing change and the author did a great job of blending modern and old fashioned elements together, forming a splendid atmosphere for her characters.

EXPANDED REVIEW
BLACK RIDGE WOLF PACK SERIES!

Overall, all four books are full of exciting action, thrilling suspense, fascinating magical events, sweet romance, heated passion and some pretty distinctive elements that makes this shifter world a bit different from others and keeps readers intrigued with the well-developed and mesmerizing world. The setting and the atmosphere of the story is creative blend of traditional old world and modern that author has blended seamlessly enough that readers find surprising although, the stories would benefit from being longer as the author could flesh them out a bit, instead trying pack so much into such short amounts of time.

Quick re-read, so I could leave a review. This reminded me of Choosing Theo, and Loving Deviant in that we have a scarred H that is nice, but has pretty much given up on ever being chosen by a female. Helena is an Omega, but this isn’t an Omegaverse book; she’s actually a shifter omega. I wouldn’t call this YA; Aldric is 100+, and Helena is 25, but other than the one sex scene (I think there’s only the one) they are holding hands, and kissing cheeks with chaperones. Aldric is a battle worn, pack alpha, but he’s not really the caveman alpha I typically gravitate towards. It’s pretty cheesy, (like x-tra butter movie popcorn) lovey-dovey feeling; the next h is definitely edgier, so things might spice up, but it wasn’t a great fit for me.

Bottom Line I would recommend this for readers who enjoy Omega/Para/Shifter romances, but doesn’t want the bossy, knotting, smut that’s typical to the genre. This is short (150-ish) easy, light read with minimal drama, little conflict, and virtually zero smut. I picked it up as a freebie from bookbub, not sure if it's still free.

Too Pat

None of the characters are very well developed and the MC's just fell together, no baggage to work through, no emotional strife while falling in love, nothing. Their relationship was too perfect, Helena was too perfect to relate to. The book was supposedly set in modern day with modern attitudes, yet the feudal nature far outweighed the modern, except for technology. I might read something better developed by this author.....maybe.

I quite liked this book, but the princess was a bit too perfect. So sweet. So cheerful. So kind. So... urgh I wanted to gag at times. She loves everyone. She wants to help everyone. She doesn't care about Aldric's scars. She's not intimidated by Aldric's size.

She apparently loved him on sight after seeing him from afar two years ago. I wasn't sure if it was a 'fated mates' thing, like she recognised her mate -- the story seems to say that omegas get to choose whether to accept or reject the alphas who approach them, which doesn't sound like they are fated mates. WHY she loved him on sight is a good question, which was never answered.

He thinks he can never be chosen by an omega because he is so large and intimidating, plus he is badly scarred all over, including on his face. As a result, he's grouchy and stand-offish. There is some attempt to be skeptical about Helena's interest, but he caves really fast and then is protective, like all good heroes should be. But I think I didn't see enough disbelief from him that she would choose him. He accepted her interest way too fast. You know that Beauty and the Beast -- and here I'm referring to the Disney animated movie, which I loved -- only worked so well because the grouchy Beast took time to warm up to Beauty and wasn't won over instantly. The rest of the castle had high hopes, but he couldn't allow himself to to hope because he didn't want to have to face disappointment if he was wrong about her. Well, in this book, the "beast" (Aldric, of course) simply gives in too quickly and easily, so we lose that delicious tension and the chance to see him gradually melt.

I saw a reviewer mention that the world-building was lacking, and I agree. This story seemed to be set in the modern world, with SUVs and cellphones and tablets... but then people are carrying daggers and arrows instead of guns (except, of course, for the Bad Guy, who is smarter than them all!). The princess trains in self-defense and attack using a staff... what for? Who walks around carrying a staff? And then there's the use of dark magic and the mention of elves and ogres, which made this world a blend of medieval, fantasy, and modern... I was confused.

I wished we had more information about the motivations of the Bad Guy and how his actions would have helped him achieve his goal. Using "magic" as a way to explain how things were done was a bit of a cop-out or easy shortcut. Even magic has to have certain principles behind it, and I wanted to understand it a bit better. What was the purpose of sending the flowers to the princess? It all seemed a bit disjointed and strange.

The story of Aldric and Helena could have had more depth by adding more conflict; everything goes so smoothly -- her uncle and aunt love him, his parents love her -- not a single bump in the road to force them to work for their happiness. I kept waiting for something to interrupt them, especially as the bonding ceremony and their consummation neared. The Bad Guy certainly took his time to strike, which was odd to me. It was a nice story, but could have been more... 3.5 stars, rounded down.

Paranormal at it’s best by Debut Author, Lilli Carlisle. I’ve fallen in love with a whole new pack, and I can’t wait for more in this series. This is book 1 in The Black Ridge Wolf Pack and what a brilliant beginning to what is sure to be a gripping new shifter romance series.
I downloaded a sample of this book after seeing it on social media. I have a soft spot for shifters, no matter if it’s M/F or M/M. The main characters in this story are male and female, but judging by the friends and family I can see this Author writing an M/M. Super excited for that if I am indeed right. Obviously I hit the buy now after reading the sample.
I loved the fact that the Author of this book timed everything so perfectly. I always hope that I’m not going to be kept waiting until the end for all the answers. Don’t get me wrong there was still twists to this story throughout this book, but things were progressing just beautifully. That’s all I can really say without giving out spoilers.
Aldric is the Alpha to the Black Ridge pack, and by all accounts he is an exceedingly great Alpha, loved by everyone around and his members have the greatest respect for him. Sadly he is unmated. He has suffered over the years leaving him with many scars from his battles and has given up all hope of ever being chosen by an Omega.
Yes, for once this story is a little different to any others I have read. Usually the Alpha finds a mate and has to convince him or her to become their mate for life. In this book the Alpha has to wait to be chosen by a he or she called an Omega.
Amongst the many Alpha Wolves and Omega’s was their entourage of guards, advisors, trusted members and close family on hand to help their Alpha or if they are lucky enough to be chosen the Alpha would insist on his most trusted to protect their intended mate.
Helena is not only an Omega but also a Princess. She has the most beautiful heart, so big and warm. Her need to help others shines from her every pores. Anyone who is chosen to be her Alpha is one lucky Alpha for sure.
Sometimes the mind boggles as to how someone can create such a fascinating story, but thank God for talented writers. I love nothing more than being transported into a world of fantasy made up of shifters. Strong Alpha’s is definitely my thing.
If paranormal romance is your thing then I definitely recommend this book to you. Try a sample today, you won’t be disappointed.

Omega's Choice is the backdrop of the Black Ridge Wolf Pack series by Lilli Carlisle. The story is fun and exciting, filled with wonderful characters, and engaging. When Alpha Aldric Forst receives the formal invitation from King Leonidas to attend the annual Omegas' Celebration, Aldric tosses it in the trash. His appearance will never satisfy an Omega, and one will never choose him as a mate. To ignore the invitation is to spite the King, however, and Aldric's family convinces him to attend. Aldric is sure he's going home alone after yet another Omega Celebration where he's overlooked due to his enormous size and plethora of battle scars.

Princess Helena, the niece of King Leonidas, has been waiting to meet Alpha Aldric for years, ever since seeing him attend one of the celebrations, from the balcony of her home. Not old enough to be present for the Omega's choosing of mates, Helena had to wait until now and hope no one swooped in and chose Aldric before she could.

Their courtship is short and sweet but full of more than just romance. Omegas are a precious commodity and their powers are coveted by those with less than honorable intentions. It is the responsibility of the King and pack Alphas to keep the Omegas safe. When unusual events begin happening during the Omega Celebration, everyone is on guard. When Omegas begin disappearing right out from under the noses of everyone; the King, Alphas, Warriors, and others, they are running out of time to find out who is behind the kidnappings.

I enjoyed Omega's Choice. The book is a cute werewolf fairy tale. There are shifters, Ogres, and dark magic but there's also love, romance, and fiercely protective alpha males. Helena and Aldric are a wonderful couple and I enjoyed reading about them, separately and together. The supporting characters fulfilled their roles perfectly and I can't wait to read about next set of characters in book 2.

I thoroughly enjoyed this fairy tale, modern day romance filled with shifters, witches, ogres, elves, warlocks, and all the technology we know. It's a touching story set in a realm where it is tradition that the Omegas must make the choice of who to take as a mate, their Alpha. Princess Helena is finally of age where she can attend the traditional Omega's Celebration, and for two years she's had her eye on Aldric, leader of the Black Ridge Wolf Pack. She can't believe her good fortune when she finds out that Aldric has not been claimed and will be attending the celebration. Aldric has no desire to attend the Omega Celebration, only to not be claimed once again due to his scars. However, even though his little sister tells him that he'll finally meet his Omega at this celebration, he vows this will be his last. The story proceeds from there, and it is a very touching, romantic story, with loyalty and acceptance, but one that also contains danger and betrayal.
I look forward to more books in the series from this new to me author.

Honestly, I liked the book, but, for whatever reason, I could not connect with it on the level that I like to. This book is like modern meets 1800's. The woman get to choose the male, but they can not be alone together until they are mated aka married. It has an older feel to it, but they have updated gadgets.
Helena is a girl just of age of be with someone. She has watched and waited for her mate for about 3 years. When she finally gets the chance to be with him, flowers start unexpectedly popping up. Although, the rules are an alpha can not make contact with an omega, so this throws everybody off and puts them on edge.
Aldric has given up all hope that he is going to find his mate. The only reason he goes to this selection celebration is because his parents talk him into one more. He didn't expect anything to come of it until the princess's guards and helpers approach Aldric. Now he has to do everything he can to protect his mate from outside forces.

I love paranormal books and a strong alpha, this one combines some magic, ogres, unicorns and above all OMEGA POWER. In a pleasant twist of the old age omega/alpha saga, this book gives the power to the omega's. They have the power, the magic and they pick their mates when the omega's attend the annual Omegas' Celebration they pick their mates. Aldric has been attending for years, but never gets selected because of his scars, unbeknownst to him Princess Helena attended the Omegas' Celebration a few years ago and fell into insta-love with Aldric and for the past 2 years she has hoped that he was not selected. She can't believe her good fortune when he is unmatched and she gets to select him.

I found the book to be engaging and very entertaining with some humorous and fun moments and it held my attention the end. Excellent writing and a must read.

This fairy tale romance between wolf shifters set in an enchanting world is a great read. From the first page until the last it kept me intrigued and turning pages. It centers on an Omega whose time has come to select a mate. Princess Helena has waited two years for the man of her dreams.
Enormous, scarred and scary Black Ridge Wolf Pack Leader Aldric has sworn this selection celebration will be his last. No woman would want him… until Helena, not only an Omega with magic powers second to none, but a princess.
Their relationship blooms until dark forces threaten all the Omegas at the celebration. When the unthinkable happens Aldric and his warriors, as well as the royal guard are put to the test. If you enjoy fantasy romances, Omega’s Choice is for you! Omega’s Choice is four and half stars in my book!

More than a fairytale!

Black Ridge Wolf pack leader, Aldric Forst, has attended several omegas celebrations and this would be the last one he was in. He felt like a “beast”, although he was an honorable decorated general that had fought many wars for his kind and his king. For Helena, the most beautiful and powerful princess omega, it was her final opportunity of looking for his beloved one.

Lilli Carlisle presented us, two fated souls, within a shifter world full of danger, tradition, deceit, inner fears, sweet banter, among other things surrounded by family and strong values. This book shows us the amazing journey of this beauty and her lovely beast, that engaged you from the beginning until the end. ¡A total recommended entertaining read!

It was good. The characters are likeable. There connection is quick, but still understandable in their society. They could have a little more depth. It was hard at times because there are a lot of characters to keep track of.

The pacing needed a little bit of work. The story seemed to drag in some parts and fly in others. There were also times that the story felt a little jumbled. It still came together as a decent cohesive story, though.

Saying all of that, though, I still enjoyed the book. I wanted to see what happened to the characters. It was a good first book, and this author has a lot of potential. I can definitely see myself picking up the next book in this series. Especially, since it is about two of my favorite characters from this book, Lothar and Ceva.

Omega’s Choice is the first book in Lilli Carlisle’s Black Ridge Wolf Pack and sets the foundation of for this exciting paranormal series. A good storyline and likeable characters are the backbone of this shifter society, however I would recommend total attention to the plot, as with so many characters to follow, it can often get a little confusing. This story was both fast and slow and could definitely have benefitted from a smoother ebb and flow. Overall, it’s a good start to a series that will hopefully continue to improve.

Love this series!
“Omega’s Choice” is Helena and Aldric’s story. This supernatural romance is one of the best that I’ve read recently. I love that the author gave us a different concept and a broader view of the Omega. They are not just baby makers for an alpha, they have magic and powers of their own that they “share” with their mates; the Omega has the choice of whom she wants as her mate. This tale has intrigue, suspense, action, drama, and intense chemistry. I loved this tale and am excited to read the rest of this series.

Lots of action and great characters

There was a lot of action and great characters in this book. I am glad to find out the person I thought may have been responsible for the trouble was not the issue. It have been more interesting though if the person who was the inside contact had more book time prior to the reveal so you had a hint it might be them. As it was, I did not remember any mention of the to that point, so it was a total surprise. I really liked the book though and the glimpse into this universe that it provided made it somewhere you want to visit or even live. I definitely recommend this book.

Alpha and Omega

Alric had decided that there was no Omega destined for him, so decided to not attend the annual Omega court . His brother and father fortunately changed his mind. At the Omega court one such Omega Princess Helene had been waiting years to be old enough to claim Alpha Alaric as her bonded Alpha mate. Alaric and Helene were destined to be together, but there are forced trying to stop their love from being. What will they do to fulfill their love? Will their destiny be shredded even before it is to begin? A must read!!!!!Very exciting and adventurous story.

Aldric hated going to the omega celebration because he scared the omegas there with his battle scars. Helena saw him 2 years ago and dreamed of mating with him! His family talked him in going one last time because his sister told him that his omega was going to be there. Princess Helena has one of her ladies in waiting go to him and stake her claim on Aldric and he accepted her as his mate. After their mating they had to take care of the person responsible for kidnapping omegas for their powers and they did. Love this author! Glad I decided to read her books!

A princess chooses the alpha of a wolf pack as her mate, which surprises the alpha. Together they start to be the powerful couple they know they can be. Surprises come along to disrupt them on their journey but there is determination and strength between them. The characters are great and the backstories round them out nicely. The romance was quick, as mating usual is, and the bond is powerful. Really liked it, so now on to another book by this author.

This is the first book in the Black Ridge Wolf Pack series and I thoroughly enjoyed and I highly recommend. This romantic story and characters pulled me in from the beginning and I couldn't stop reading until I finished. If you love a hot, powerful, scarred alpha and a beautiful spiritual, down to earth princess omega that he loves with a hot and sexy romance then this book is for you. It's an awesome book a definite must read for any wolf shifter fan and I can't wait to read the next book.

20th Century meets the Renaissance a Wonderful Read

It upskittles you when reading because your imagination is in a long lost era then the warriors arrive in land rovers and they all have tablets and mobile phones!!!! After the ball with all the gowns and formal attire the King and Queen go to breakfast in their jeans!!! Read it twice now, a wonderful story with all the usual shifter grumbles and growls of possessiveness where you just go along for the ride. It has action, some very tender moments, sad moments and funny moments. A wonderful read.

Great Read!

I am new to this author and after reading what the book was about and the low ratings, I was a bit hesitant whether to give this book a chance or not. I thought "what the hell, if it doesnt sound good, I ll just return it". Im glad i took a chance and won't have to return it. Loved this book from start to finish. Loved all the characters involved and now really looking forward to reading Lothar and Ceva's book.

Romance, action, magic, shifters - what more can you ask for. Oh, also unicorns and witches. I enjoyed this introduction to the series from debut author Lilli Carlisle. The plot is well paced and there is good character development. In addition to the primary characters in this book, future books in the series have started to be introduced.

Well worth a read.

I was hooked from the very first page. The princess has been waiting for Aldric for years until her 25th year and that day finally comes. He has battle scars and the other omegas wouldn’t even glance his way. Once they meet well everything happens, love, romance and a kidnapping. A fabulous book to keep you entertained.

Very light romance. Little plot or character development. I feel that it's not a bad story, but it is definitely a quick read. No nuance.
I enjoyed those characters that had an element of mischief, however, overall feels like a smug inside joke with everyone having an exaggerated love of their own importance. Maybe I got the wrong feel, but the story doesn't have much depth to me.

This is the story of Helena and Aldric. He is the leader of the Black Ridge Wolf Pack and is attending his last selection ceremony. He has all but given up on finding a mate since he is so battle scarred and a bit scary. When he meets the beautiful Helena and she has chosen, there is nothing that can keep them apart. I enjoyed this sweet, entertaining romance. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The king and queens niece Princess Helena must select a mate as is the tradition in their family legacy. Princess Helena has chosen the Alpha of the Black Wolf pack Aldric. Alpha Aldric never thought he would see the day that any Omega would pick him much less Princess Helena. Knowing this he will do all he fans to keep her safe and happy.

I don't know what I expected, but I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.
Stilted dialogue, the world didn't vibe with me, the magic was ridiculous as were all the cardboard characters, but none more so than the heroine. She is a "needs her jeans and t-shirt" kind of Princess, so she's definitely not like other girls.
It was insta-love and it was just not for me. I think 'cringe' is the word I want to use to describe this book.

Okay, I liked this book, and the beginning half of this book had so much potential, but the ending was a disappointment. They could have drawn out the ending more. They could have had more time the Omegas were trapped. Even had Helena see a couple omegas get partially drained. Also her becoming pregnant literally the morning after was just to fast.

Great story

It is difficult to find a paranormal story that doesn't follow the same storyline as many others but this one does a really good job of being unique. It is a great HEA story with plenty of action and no drama. I enjoyed reading it.
