Mastering the World of Psychology is a briefer paperback version of the text that does more to support student learning than any other introductory psychology text available. It makes the connection between scientific principles and the everyday lives of today's diverse student population. Now organized around numbered Learning Outcomes, the Third Edition of Mastering the World of Psychology is even better equipped to help readers succeed and to apply their knowledge of psychology to their lives. The SQ3R methodology, wealth of pedagogical features, MyPsychLab resources, and built-in Study Guide and Practice Tests make this the ideal learning and study resource.
For a college textbook, this was pretty great! I absolutely LOVED the discussions this book made on many topics on psychology, giving thorough examples to many words brought up on each chapter, which made the experience sometimes long but definitely worth it. This book is probably one of the few that ever interested me, and I’m extremely grateful I actually read it for my class 😊.
I rented this book for my psychology class... Students and I absolutely loved this edition... They commented that the book itself is pretty easy to follow... Most times I rented it too many colleagues...
The hardcopy is clearly a printout of the e-book (you can literally see the first still of a short video), so unless you have the e-book for class you will miss information as no transcript for the videos nor additional pages with information on other tabs for other types of interactive material is provided. Worse, the electronic book is tied to a course and requires an instructor code to open, so if I were to revisit a particular chapter from this book in even a year's time, the information described above will be lost to me despite the fact I purchased a dual copy.
The material itself was fine and easily understood. But for the greed of the publishers this would be a four star textbook. The one star is a reflection of my deep dissatisfaction with what appears to be the modern textbook industry, and is at least an issue with the publication of this title.
