Beau Hill is the one person on this Earth I was raised to loathe. His sparkling blue eyes, dimpled smile, and dusty Stetson may work like Kryptonite on every other girl in these parts, but they don’t work on me. A studious, virginal veterinary scholar like myself would never be caught dead falling for the charms and graces of the town’s most notorious horse-riding, cattle-roping Casanova. Not to mention our families hate each other, an iron-clad feud that goes back over a hundred years… But when a twister rips through the Deardon Rose Ranch, destroying my family’s century farm, we’re left with nothing but the clothes on our backs. Desperately trying to save my family’s legacy, I’m left with no choice but to approach the one man who can the man with more money than God and every reason to slam the screen door in my face. So imagine my shock when he says yes… He’ll help. But I have to live with him. I have to work for him. But falling for him? That was never a stipulation. It can’t happen. I won’t allow it. And if he thinks he’s got so much as a chance at taking my V-card, he’s got another thing coming. Only when I tell him that, there’s a wicked glint in his indigo gaze that offers a wordless, “Challenge accepted.” **The Cowboy’s Virgin is a full-length standalone romance with a HEA and no cliffhanger. **
I love summer, the smell of clean babies, lilacs and swimming. I'm a Midwestern mother of five, Mimi of two and owner of three fur babies.
I spend my weekdays writing full time and raising my family.
I write about intelligent women and the stubborn men who love them. I write about turmoil and conflict. I write about the most complex, convoluted emotion we as humans experience.
I liked the premise of this book but found myself having a hard time getting into the story. It took me until I was half way into the story before I could finally get involved into the story and then there was this connection for me. The story didn’t have that immediate connection like I have had with the author’s other books. As far as the story goes, it is about a modern retelling or modern look at a Hatfields vs. McCoys rivalry(but the last names are different) with the children being in love. Beau and Charlotte did have this chemistry that made this story sweet and their heat made this hot story. They were starting to fall deep in love until her sister threw a spanner in the works and caused angst and drama. In fact Charlotte herself caused some drama in her attempts to avoid Beau but Beau isn’t a man that you avoid and he wants his lady and he goes about to prove his love. Will Beau be able to prove his sincere love and devoition to Charlotte ? Will this bitter family feud be fixed or will these two lovebirds have to fly the nest? This is something the story answers and because the two main characters are strong and have such chemistry, I upped my rating of the story.
My Rating: 4.2 stars ***** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
Oh my, I love me some Beau Hill! He is just the most sweetest man EVER! He is every girl's dream. And Charlotte is just as fab. I loved both main characters. Some of the side characters, not so much. But you always need at least one character you hate! Like Beau's father and Charlotte's mother! This book is like a modern day Romeo and Juliette, where their families hated each other.
There is a family feud that has spanned a century! A blinking Century!! Beau and Charlotte are the only reasonable ones who think the feud is silly. And plan to change it. There is a freak tornado that destroys all of the Deardon Ranch and Charlotte has to come home from college to help plan their move. Beau comes across Charlotte and can't believe how much she's changed and has an instant attraction to her. He didn't much like her in high school, just for the person she was, but all that changed when she went away to college.
Charlotte and Beau come into contact again and he offers her a solution to all her problems. All she has to do is take the permanent vet job at his Ranch. Charlotte agrees to it but keeps it from her parents as to how saving them all comes about.
They start a secret relationship and hide it from their parents until she graduates from college. But no one is pleased. But I think they are just the perfect couple. Even though Beau has never has a relationship, he knows how to treat Charlotte. Even during her little wobble, thanks to her sister sticking nose in. Beau is hooked on Charlotte from the beginning and he doesn't understand what hold she has over him. He's captivated by her. And Charlotte is captivated by Beau. I loved everything about them.
I was sad when I read about his mother's illness and I think Emerson done a good job of highlighting such a serious issue. You coukd tell that Beau really loves his mother! I, then turned mad when it was revealed what Mr Hill has been up to! Carmen is just a skank!
I want them both, Beau and Charlotte to be my new best friends! I really loved everything about this book. It all flowed beautifully together and its definitely become my new favourite book of Emerson's! How could you not fall in love with Beau Hill!

** Provided on behalf of the author for an honest review ** ** Review by Gayle from Bloggers From Down Under **
I have read everything Emerson Rose , and I mean everything and I have absolutely adored every single novel that she was written. But I must say I was a little, no let me rephrase....I was a whole lot of apprehensive when this arc fell into my Kindle. And why? Because cowboys are so not my thing. Yes I know it's criminal, but it's just not all that appealing to me.
But The Cowboy's Virgin.....Wow just wow! It had me captivated from beginning to end. I absolutely loved it.
We meet Beau. Strong, young, and all things delicious. He works on his family's ranch out in Montana. Living with his parents, Beau's work is gruelling and time consuming. Long hours spent working on his family's ranch, doesn't leave much time for anything. not even relationships. Beau is very much single and has no intention to change his single, playboy status. But when a tornado rips through, everything will change. Everything in Beau's world will be turned upside down. He will be faced with the enemy. She will be his games changer.
We meet Charlotte. She's young, beautiful and vibrant. Leaving her home town of Montana, Charlotte has been studying to be a vet. Her love of animals came from her family's ranch, being raised with them. It's her dream to graduate and then move back to Montana to be the main vet at her family's ranch. But when a tornado rips through, everything will change. Everything in Charlotte's world will be turned upside down. She will be faced with her enemy. He will be her game changer.
Welcome to the world of Beau and Charlotte and a one hundred year old grudge between families.
What an amazing read. It had everything in a novel and so much more. It was fun loving, lighthearted, raw, highly emotional and at times confronting. I don't want to give anything away, but some of the subject matter was soul crushing and it made my heart ache literally. It was simply a beautiful read.
A huge thank you to Emerson Rose who has given us a gorgeous and breathtaking read about hope, trust, fear and love.
Time to bury the hatchet. This is a cute story where young adults, who have been raised near each other and to hate each other, come together during a crisis and fall in love. A tornado has just ripped the family ranch right off the plains. Charlotte's family has lost everything, or so it seems. Then, Beau Hill, neighbor, fellow-rancher, and family nemesis strides out of his truck to save the day. When he sees Charlotte again for the first time in years, he realizes how much the adorable snobby cheerleader has grown up to be a beautiful woman. He doesn't know why, but he wants to help out. Charlotte is just 2 months away from graduating with her degree in veterinary services and is all about ready to become a vet on her family ranch. That and more goes up in the sky with the twister that hits their town in Montana. Until Beau has an offer she may not be able to refuse. His strings don't seem like they would strangle her, so she thinks about agreeing to his plan. I enjoyed reading about these two falling in love, it was a fantastic, updated version of the classic where the two families hate each other. I liked how these two related from the start.
This book sucked me in immediately, from page one! It's a modern day Hatfield & McCoys or more appropriately, the Montagues and the Capulets. When we don't know what to talk about, we bring up the weather. In this book it's a weather situation that brings two enemies to finally talk! This is so well written and the story just flows. It made it hard for me to put it down. The people and the situations were believable. I liked the personalities of Beau and Charlotte. I also enjoyed how Author Rose wrote in snippets of classics. I also liked how Author Rose worked into the story about awareness for the progressing disease that plagues Beau's mother. Unlike the Montagues and the Capulets, there is a HEA! *I volunteered to read and write an honest review after receiving an advanced reader copy of The Cowboy's Virgin*

Fate intwined with charlotte and beau, causing their families fued to come under scrutiny. A HEA, some hardships and pride hurt but is heartwarming and a romance with a sizzle.
I've read two other books by Emerson Rose. First was Unbroken, which was one heck of a tortured, twisty and at times very dark read but which I loved. The second was Her Marine which I just didn't connect with, and for which the timeline was very confused. Anything with 'Virgin' in the title is almost enough to put me off a book, but the blurb sounded interesting and I really needed to see if Unbroken or Her Marine was typical for the author.
I have to say that this isn't as emotion filled a read as Unbroken but it was a really entertaining book. I didn't find it predictable or boring and, although it wasn't quite the story I was expecting from the blurb, I was hooked from start to finish. The author is definitely back on my 'read more books by' list.
I really liked both Charlotte, a no-nonsense and strong heroine, and Beau, a sweet and very caring but still very hot hero. They were believable, interesting and rounded characters both of whom I felt connected to. The book is written first person, from both their POV's, and this really helped me warm to both characters. The chemistry between them was intense, and I liked that both had found the other attractive, if off-limits, when they were younger. I also liked that we got to meet both families and that they weren't perfect but neither were they caricatures or stereotypes. Again they all seemed very believable and normal people.
The plot was well thought through, had a good solid pace and enough little sub-plots and twists to keep my interest. The writing was very good, and even though their relationship developed quickly in some ways, Charlotte's internal thoughts/reasoning about why she trusted Beau made it work for me. I have to add that instant-lust/love romances can often leave me cold but this one had me just the opposite!
I loved the epilogue - I guess when we want a HEA it's good to know it really is an ever after!
The multiple tornadoes bringing Beau Hill and Charlotte Deardon together after many years is acceptable along with the "I'll save your family if you become my mistress" sort of tale. Heck, I can believe anything within reason. I could, however, do without so much profanity as this book has and the multiple times the sex act is described. I truly have a good imagination. What I cannot tolerate is a book LOADED with errors. Prism Heart Press needs to invest in an editor who knows something about the mechanics of writing. Bear with me, while I explain. Perhaps, afterwards, you will think my 3 is too generous. Why does Sarah call Jake, Sr., "Jack." Later, in the book, we meet "Jack, Jr." So is his name "Jake" or "Jack"? Baron land should be "barren." They're nice to look, at but should be "They're nice to look at, but..." My dad and I knows should be "My day and I know..." "and I I'm going" is another error. the way looks at me should be "the way he looks at me." Lots of comma usage errors and misplaced apostrophes are noted. her families land should be "her family's land." that's not I mean ?????? are luxurious suits should be "are luxurious suites." this man is a God should be "this man is a god." please, god, please should be "please, God, please" Errors are found in punctuating compound sentences and in a series of adjectives. more then I intended should be "more than I intended" five if your flying should be "five if you're flying" separating Beaux and I should be "separating Beaux and me" BTW, I thought the character's name was "Beau." As "Beaux" is the plural form of "Beau," is there more than one character named "Beau"? Just asking. a descent mattress should be "a decent mattress" In chapter 24, "Jake" again switched back to "Jack." Does the author know the character's name? Errors in the use of commas in direct address are found within the manuscript. Also, there are problems with pronoun/antecedent agreement.
Tornadoes, hundred year-old family feud, a young woman desperate to save her family, and a young man determined to help gives you a book that keeps you up late into the night reading it. Charlotte and Beau just know that their families have feuded for hundreds of years. No one can say for sure over what. While Charlotte is away at college, she gets a phone call telling her everything is GONE!! When she arrives home, she realizes the situation is worse than she thought. The person that steps up to help is none other than Beau, the son of the family her's has the feud with. Beau is known for his womanizing ways even though he's upfront with them in the beginning. Things are different with Charlotte though. Charlotte is his game changer. He wants to provide for her and ease her worries. In return, all she has to do is agree to return after college to be the vet on his ranch.
These two young people stood together once their relationship was strong enough to face their families to show that sometimes a feud between two families needs to be put in the past. The emotions they went through together and with their families has made this a book I will be reading again.
I WAS GIVEN AN ADVANCED COPY OF "THE COWBOY'S VIRGIN" . I AM VOLUNTARILY LEAVING AN HONEST REVIEW OF THIS BOOK!
I was given an ARC By the publisher for my honest review. I had a difficult time with this book. The story was not a bad one, but the lack of editing made this book very difficult to read. Commas were seriously under-used in this book. I have enjoyed some of this author's other books, but I don't remember the editing being nearly this bad in those books. It completely stole my attention away from what should have been a enjoyable book. As far as the story goes, it is a modern-day take on the Hatfields vs. McCoys rivalry with a love story thrown in. Beau and Charlotte were so sweet together until Charlotte's sister caused unnecessary drama between them. Why Charlotte even believed her? I don't even know at this point. Charlotte herself caused some drama by trying to avoid Beau, but thankfully they were able to work it all out. I'm glad that in the end, everything between the families gets settled, but the author missed a prime opportunity to tell more of this story. The end of the book was very rushed, and there was definitely more story to tell. Overall, the book was good, but not great. More content towards the end and better editing would have made this easily a 4-5 star book in my opinion.
This is my review and how I see it. The publisher has provided a free copy of the author's work in exchange for an honest review. In The Cowboy's Virgin author Emerson Rose gives us a somewhat modern day version of the Hatfield and McCoys feud between the families of Beau and Charlotte. Beau has always felt something for Charlotte from the days that attended school together even with him being two years older.
Charlotte's (and her families) life being turned upside down and Beau offering her an olive branch with strings, bring these two together even though Charlotte in her mind was not going to give into Beau. Beau was dealing with life altering issues of his own (his mother's Alzheimer's and his diabetes).
In the midst of all that is going on around them they fall in love, which gives this story a Romeo and Juliet vibe with a twist. Beau nor Charlotte dies...Some parts for me where a little difficult to believe know how diabetes affects the body.
This is not the type of stories I am use to by this author and maybe why I can only say that it is likeable, which means good but not great.
This story is for anyone who likes to read books with a lot of angst and drama.

AHHHH!!! Have you ever read a book that immediately solidified an author as a must read for you? The Cowboy's Virgin has done that for me with Emerson Rose! This book was so so so good. Everything I want in a romance - it was sweet, it was hot, and there was humor mixed in too. The couple didn't have an easy road to HEA so it made reading their journey that much more enjoyable. I loved Charlotte (the female lead) - she was the perfect blend of sass, intelligence, and vulnerability. And Beau - oh Beau - I want a Beau of my very own! I love it when the king of one night stands meets "the one" and totally falls head over heels. Both characters had wonderful arcs (though we learn about Charlotte's via a flashback of sorts, but that makes it no less relevant as part of the story) and the drama that is the family feud between their families was so entertaining and left me thinking "how are they going to work this out?" when I'm the QUEEN of figuring out plot twists 5 minutes into a book or movie (drives my daughter CRAZY!)! I am so a fan of Emerson Rose and everything about this book and I want more I want more I want more! So yeah... Five stars/wine glasses/whatever FOR SURE!!!
First book by this talented author. Very good book. Beau & Charlotte's families have a 100 year feud....seems a tad extreme, and they think so too. Charlottes family loses everything in a tornado, so Beau makes her a business proposition. Beau was a bit on the "fast" side for me, but he very good and genuine with Charlotte. Charlotte is sweet if a bit weak, but she does buck up and show some backbone with Beau and her family.
So there were a few things I didn't like...Iike the other woman starting some drama. No, he doesn't cheat or anything, he makes that girl leave....hopefully this time she stays gone. There was another scene I didn't really like, it just bothered me. It was a scene that Charlotte told Beau about from a high school party. It really didn't set well with me and to be honest, it really made me think less about Charlotte's character.
Overall Beau turns out to be a great guy, gets that from his mom not his cheating dad, they are a sweet & steamy couple and they stop the family feud, via another tornado, but whatever works. We do get an epilogue 10 years in the future, which I appreciate. Overall, sweet & safe read.
This is the story of family enemies falling in love and trying to fight the odds to be together. It was my first time reading a book by Emerson Rose and I really enjoyed her dual point of view writing style as well as her funny captions before each chapter. I loved Beau's character because he was sweet and charming, but at the same time he had all the alpha male qualities the I love in my male characters. Charlotte's character was that of a submissive who did what everyone told her to do and the only time she stood up for herself was against her parents. The chemistry between Beau and Charlotte was extremely hot and definitely my favorite part of the book. I also enjoyed the inclusion of Alzheimer's disease and diabetes because it made the characters and their problems more realistic. I did wish that there was more drama in the book and the family feud part of the story was explored a bit more. Overall this was a great read of enemies turning into lovers with explosive chemistry between the lead characters
Another wonderful story by Emerson Rose<3 she never disappoints. Beau Hill and Charlotte Deardon are your modern day Romeo and Juliet.
With a family feud dating back over a hundred years there is no love lost between these two families. All that soon changes when Charlotte returns home from college after her family is forced to leave their ranch behind. With nothing left, her one and only hope to save her family is non other than her family nemesis, Beau Hill. Beau makes an offer Charlotte cannot refuse. I will say no more, read it and find out!
I really did love Beau. He was one sexy as sin angel sent from heaven with a bit of a kinky devil. Overall, I did love the book, but the epilogue left me wanting more. If the book would have been longer, it would have definitely been 5 stars and not 4.5 stars.

This is a great story!!
Beau and Charlotte fall into love rather quickly despite the fact that they hardly know each other. Their families have hated each based on a family feud that has lasted over a hundred years. Beau and Charlotte have many obstacles, their families hatred being one of the biggest but, they manage them all. The timeline is very fast for the events but that makes the love story that much more exciting.
Ms. Rose incorporates a number of serious issues in this story and she handles them carefully and with respect. It gives this story a very real life dimension. I especially appreciate how the fighting families learn a very important lesson and gain some much needed perspective.
Charlotte Deardon is a soon to be college graduate with a vet degree. Her only dream is to work as vet on her family ranch.
Beau Hill is a rancher on his family ranch. He loves to work and solitude of ranching and only sees women for one thing, physical release.
A devastating tornado brings Charlotte home to help her family out only to find everything is gone. Not one thing left on her ranch.
Beau reaches out to her with an offer to good to refuse. But will she accept knowing their families despise each other over a supposed feud that happened a century ago or will she accept and the two be able to end the feud and bring their families together?
I love this author's work. I know when I pick up a title I'm going to get hooked into a story with a little bit of sass, a little bit of spice, and a whole heaping ton of emotion. This book delivers in spades. This book is a Montana retelling of Romeo and Juliet - without any teenagers dying. Both Beau and Charlotte knew each other existed when they were kids but they had listened to the hate that was spread by their families and steered clear of one another. Now that they're both grown up neither is quite what the other was expecting and that may be what they both need. I loved watching how Beau looks after the people around him. And seeing Charlotte find her middle ground was a lot of fun. I received a complimentary copy of this book.
Love a great cowboy gets the girl story. Great book
The feud between families go back many generations. It only takes one person to forgive. Beau doesn't date. He doesn't fall in love. But things changed for him when he saw Charlotte again.
Charlotte's family losing everything when a tornado rips through their ranch. The house, barn, and all their animals. Charlotte comes home from college to check on her family. When she sees Beau she gets a funny feeling in her stomach.
Beau comes up with a plan to get Charlotte to work for him. When be finds out she's a virgin he has to make her his.
This story is sweet, hot, sexy, dirty, and a whole lot of fun. Great read. I enjoyed this book a lot.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. What is not to like about a good cowboy romance along with a little bit of family feuding? I loved Beau and Charlotte. The chemistry between the two is hot. The parents of course make this book quite interesting. The two come to an agreement to help Charlotte save her family's ranch after it is nearly wiped out after a tornado passes through. Work as a vet at his ranch. Only thing is she has to live there. The two soon realize they have strong feelings for one another. This story was a wonderful read. I really enjoyed the whole storyline between the two as well as their families. I would definitely recommend this book to fans of Ms Rose as well as fans of the cowboy romance genre.
Wow! Another hit for Emerson Rose who is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I loved the way the male lead, Beau Hill is a bit vulnerable due to being Diabetic but he still remains the epitome of a ruff and ride 'em cowboy. This is the western version of a modern day Romeo and Juliet or maybe the Hatfield's and McCoy's where the offspring of two families involved in a hundred plus feud fall in love. Charlotte is the other half of the star-crossed lovers and it was a delightful read to see how the two fight insurmountable odds to get their HEA. Do yourself a favor and read this book as I think you will agree with me that this is a must read author!
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a wonderful read! The story sucked me in (quite literally with the aftermath of a tornado) right from the very first lines. Then we get to experience the romance between Beau and Charlotte develop against the backdrop of their families’ Hatfields and McCoys hundred-year-old feud, and that’s when their character and inner strengths really start to shine. Beau is everything you’d want in a book boyfriend and there’s just no way Charlotte could resist him. Their assorted family members would be hilarious if they weren’t so tragic, and the author deftly handled the sticky situations without villainizing anyone. Pure escapism of the very best kind. I highly recommend this book. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Its been a while since I have read a Cowboy Romance and this book hit the spot. Beau and Charlotte have been raised to hate each other. But what happens when a tornado whips through their town, taking Charlotte's family ranch right along with it. They have now lost everything but Beau comes to the rescue. Can they get past the family feud long enough for him to help or will the past they have been taught to live in keep them apart?
I enjoyed reading Beau and Charlotte's story and how they worked to overcome the past that their parents and everyone in their family tries to stay stuck in. Grab your copy and see if they can put an end to the family fighting or if they are doomed from the start because of it.
Another great page turner from Emerson Rose! Two neighboring families that have been feuding since the dawn of time, a natural disaster, and some unforeseen sparks between Charlotte and Beau are what kick this story off. Charlotte, just a couple months away from becoming a vet, is summoned home due to her families ranch being swept away by a tornado. When Beau gives her an unlikely solution, Charlotte is forced to logically realize he is their only salvation. I enjoyed all the aspects of this book, the ill mother, bitter fathers, even the drama between Charlotte and Beau. Another five star read!
I loved this book so much!! Hot, alpha cowboy Beau and sweet, sassy, innocent Charlotte come from feuding families. Beau is so kind that after a twister takes her families ranch to nothing, he checks on her. He also then devises a plan to help her family. He is immediately smitten with Charlotte and will do what he needs to so she is happy and that together they can put behind their families this 100 year old feud. Love the characters, love the storyline and how it had me sucked into it from page 1. May be my favorite book by this author and I will definitely continue to read her books!
I received an ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book.
Constance and Beau have lived on adjoining ranches all of their lives. They went to the same schools, but never spoke to each other, all because of an old feud that at least one hundred years old. But the heart wants what the heart wants and these two hearts want to be together even if they have to take on their families, misconceptions, and the weather.
The Cowboy's Virgin is a fast-paced book with lots of romance, action and a satisfying HEA. I like this author's characters and her style of writing. I plan to read more of her books in the future. I hope she writes Stella and Ashton's story, too.
I really liked this book. The characters were great, well developed and the storyline was so good. Charlotte is called home after a tornado destroyed her family's ranch. Her family needs her to help them move forward and get things settled. Beau Hill see's Charlotte with new eyes when he see's her for the first time in 4 years. He doesn't know how he will do it, but he has to get her to stay. There were some confusing aspects though. Was it Jake Jr or Jack Jr?! His name seemed to change from beginning to end. There were quite. Few typo's that were distracting. It needed just a little editing.
I really liked the storyline and the characters. The family feud was interesting and the resolution of it surprising. I’m not sure the final relationship between the families was quite believable, but hey, this is a romance and we’re looking for an HEA, so I’ll let that go. I gave this book 4 stars for the good content.
A big issue, one that drives me nuts, kept me from getting immersed, negatively affected my enjoyment, and makes me leary of reading the author’s other books. It’s like a stiff wind blew through the pages and took over 2/3 of the commas with it. I honestly think every page is missing commas. Things may not make sense or meanings are changed by not having the appropriate pause/break in a sentence, and it makes the book look unprofessional. My own punctuation isn’t perfect, but I’m also not an author putting a book out there for others to buy and read.
I voluntarily read a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I loved reading the fabulous and fantastic romance story written by the wonderfully talented Emerson Rose. I voluntarily reviewed a copy. When Charlotte's family lose everything to a tornado, Beau wants to help. Charlotte and Beau's family have a feud that neither family member wants to let bygones be bygones except for Charlotte and Beau. When Charlotte and Beau come together, chemistry and passion ignites. Read the highly recommended, beautifully written with captivating characters, and a must read love story.
This is a fast-paced cowboy tale that is filled with angst from a hundred year old feud like the Hatfields and McCoys, the wrath of mother-nature, and a romance worthy of Romeo and Juliet – well, without the whole you die I die thing…
The twist and turns keep you engaged and the chemistry between Charlotte and Beau have you rooting for them to conquer and end the war between the two families. I enjoyed the steady storyline and the character development was good. The ending felt a little rushed, but I did love the epilogue. All in all it was a good read.
