Life has been lonely for Kennedy James. A product of foster care, she's never had a family, she's never known love, she's never been wanted. So, as she gets older and her looks get her the attention she's always craved, she takes it.
No matter the consequences.
After another failed attempt at finding what she's always longed for--to be loved--she leaves the only town she's ever known and swears off men so she can find herself.
But what happens when a rough and crass tattoo artist is exactly what she needs?
A past riddled with loss and neglect haunts Rhett Shaw, his younger sister his only remaining family. Because of his past he only allows meaningless one night stands to warm his bed, never forming a connection, barely learning their names. He prefers it that way so he doesn't open himself up to more hurt.
Something he's felt enough in his lifetime.
He's content in his life. He has his sister, his tattoo shop, and enough women to keep him satisfied.
But what happens when an angel on earth is delivered to heal his inked soul?
This was my second book by Lucia Grace and I'm hooked. This woman can give you soul crushing, capturing love stories like a damn Fairy Godmother waving her magical wand. I can't wait to say I have read every word written by her.
Inked Souls had me literally by the balls. It was Breathtaking and So so beautiful. It crushed me so many times. Lucia from the Prologue had me swollowing a lump in my throat. Kennedy is this lost, wondering soul, looking to be found by love and belong to someone. It's something she never felt and went about looking for it in the wrong way.
Something I know so well about. Have never made it a secret but every once in awhile you read a story that's part of who you are and you know the feelings and experiences are So true. So you have to let it be a known you lived through it and came winning on the other side just like our Main Characters in Inked Souls.. I know all to well the feeling of being thrown away by the woman that gives you life. Even though all my life I have only known Unconditional Love from my adoptive Parents. I don't think anyone could love and cherish me the way they have but that Poisonous Snake Rattling in the back of your mind, there because of what someone selfish did to you, that snake tries to poison everything good in your life. There's something about that woman not loving you makes you always wonder if you enough and if she never accepted you how can you be enough for anyone else. You have it poisoning so much of you life you don't even realize you doing it.
That's until you meet the man that gives you something that Completes you. A man that's willing to fight for you, to see past your I walls, to put up with all the shit you put him through. And he does it because he knows you have monsters he has to slay. He does it cos he knows you the other half of him... you let him because you know deep down he is your missing link in you, the part that Completes you. That is what Rhett Shaw is to Kennedy. I know this because this is my truth as well. I will never forget the moment my world changed and how similar our Feelings were to this couple. The second I saw my hubby 16 years ago I asked him "Do I know you from somewhere" something in me was like you know him from somewhere not knowing the he was going to change everything, open my eyes, my world and my heart to a love you never knew possible. Just like Kennedy was Rhett's from that second on, I was his as well. The love Rhett and Kennedy share is something that can't be explained, I know this cos I live it everyday of my life. No one would understand that kind of connection. It sounds so make believe, so cliché but it exists. In books as Beautiful as Inked Souls or My life. My Real Life Fairytale.
So so much about this book was like reading about hubby and I. This book touched my soul. It had me sobbing, tearing up constantly. Both happy tears and heartbroken tears.
But in the end Kennedy and I, we are Girls that got our Alpha, Hot, Tattooed Guys. We got our HEA .... We got love that you know he would set the world on fire to protect, the kind of love were you know he would move heaven and earth for you.
This book holds a special place in my heart and when you read this book know that these are not always Fictional stories even Fairytales Come True. True love outways and Destroys all the hate and neglect.
Enjoy ladies. Hope you get what I did and what Kennedy gets.... Happy Reading ❤
Oh my heart!! This book is not what I expected and that's in a good way.
Rhett and Kennedy met when she showed up in his small town trying to find herself. It was love at first sight for Rhett. He was not the relationship type and was more of a one night stand type of guy. All of that changed the minute he met the gorgeous Kennedy.
Kennedy was incredibly gorgeous but at the same time broken. She was always searching for someone that would love her for what she had inside and not based on her outward appearance. She was so sick and tired of it that she was not looking for a relationship. But the minute she met Rhett she knew he wasn't going to give up.
While Rhett wasn't giving up pursuing Kennedy, she wasn't giving in. It wasn't easy for Rhett to get thru to Kennedy. He had his work cut out for him and after several attempts she finally started to give him a chance but at her pace.
Rhett is melt your panties and heart type of man. His love was indescribable and his protectiveness was sexy. He was not going anywhere and would do anything for Kennedy. Kennedy was strong but her past will break your heart in so many ways. I felt so sorry for her. But when she decided to open her heart for Rhett she was all in.
This was such a beautiful love story of individuals with similar past but made it work. There was a slight hiccup that will have you wondering hmmm what's going to happen. When it's revealed you'll be like, 😱, didn't see that coming. The good thing is that it's not drawn out in the story.
Grab this one!! Rhett sister was awesome and his best friend and father figure were also a great part of this story and just as great.
I voluntarily accepted an advanced reader copy of this book and hope to read more on these amazing characters.
Heartache, finding love, souls, and suspense fill these pages. Two broken souls that were meant for each other finally find each other after years, Kennedy of being alone and feeling unwanted and Rhett being unattached. Kennedy wants to change her life and she finds it in Sunvale where she meets Saylor who hires her on the spot at In Ruins after being told not hiring previously. Saylor also offers her a place to live since she is new in town. Across the street is a tattoo parlor called Inked Sous that Rhett owns and works at, he comes to In Ruins every night after work. As Rhett looks around for someone for the night he sees HER, Kennedy. He can't believe his eyes for he has seen an angel. Kennedy notices Rhett too but she isn't here to find a man but herself, so she gives him the cold shoulder even though she is attracted. Rhett must have Kennedy but she'll make him work for it because she isn't interested in having a relationship till she finds herself. Will Kennedy give in to Rhett, read to find out and then the mystery that comes into play to add suspense. Lucia i fell in love with this story and was happy to be introduced to you through this book. You write in the both point of views and that is my favorite cause I always want to know what the other main character is thinking. The way you brought two souls together to heal and feel was felt through your writing by me. You draw the reader in and keep us wanting more, great job. I can't wait for #2 hoping for the story of Saylor and Nash.... **Reviewed for Sweet and Spicy Reads, ARC provided in return for honest review**
"Kennedy had grown up in foster homes passed around her whole life never knowing the love of a family that cared about her. When she went thru puberty at the age of thirteen she became very curvy and beautiful. The only problem was men only wanted her for sex, not love and she went through a lot and became very untrusting.
Rhett and his sister Saylor lost their parents when Rhett was twelve and Saylor was ten. They were taken in by an Aunt who didn't love them and just wanted their insurance money left from their parents. Rhett got a job at thirteen working at the bar In Ruins to take care of himself and Saylor. At Eighteen he and Saylor moved into an apartment next to Gus who owned the bar and looked out for them. Eventually Rhett saved enough money to buy the Tattoo Parlor across the street and became best friends with his partner Nash.
Kennedy decides to leave her past behind and ends up in Sunvale. She walks into In Ruins to inquire about a job and ends up working there and living upstairs with Saylor since Rhett had bought a condo and moved out.
This story is about finding yourself and learning to trust and also finally finding the family you always wanted. A happily ever after of two wounded souls who complete each other. It's not always smooth sailing when Kennedy's past comes back to haunt. I can't wait for the next story in this series! "
This is all Lucia Grace's fault that I look like death warmed over this morning. You want to know why? I've been devouring this story non stop and then I wasn't done when it was time to go to sleep. So I stayed up way, way past my bedtime because I just couldn't put it down. OMG. Just WOW this story!!! I know liking a story is subjective, but this storyline was way up my alley. An overprotective, but not too much, alpha male who loves unconditionally. An heroine who's a survivor and doesn't let herself get down. This 5 star story was everything I hoped it would be and so much more.
Kennedy has been through a lot in her life. Having never experienced a felling of belonging. No family or real connections. She finds herself drawn to a small town where some good people look at her and understand. They give her a chance. Rhett doesn't do commitments but one look at Kennedy and he's a goner.
This story was beautifully written with a great storyline that kept my undivided attention throughout the story. It was addicting, captivating and very well presented. There was never a dull moment. There was even some intriguing parts where I never saw that twist in the story coming. So I would say suspenseful. It was romance at it's best. Bottom line this is a must read.
Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.

I am going to start off by stating how much I love this author and her other books, but I just couldn't quite connect with Rhett and Kennedy as much as I had hoped to. I wanted to rate this higher, but had to stay true to my personal "scale". I came to the conclusion that the 3 stars is reflective of mostly me and my reading preferences and not because it was poorly written or anything like that. I like my heroines to have some backbone and sass, and I didn't feel like Kennedy had much of either. However, I think that there is an important lesson that we can all learn from her. She didn't like the way her life was going, so she took the initiative to change it for the better. She also knew it was important to work on herself before involving someone else. I am a tough sell on insta-love, but I consider myself in the minority on that. Rhett had to definitely work for it, which I appreciated, but he knew from the moment he saw her that he was a goner. For me, some of the book felt a little repetitive, but that definitely got better as the book went on. I noticed it mostly when they were expressing their feelings about each other to whoever they were talking to. I think a lot of me feeling that way had to do with the fact that I knew how they felt, but I wanted to know more about about their lives, especially their pasts, instead of focusing on just their current relationship. I am not sure if I am even making sense, but that is how I felt. I loved Saylor, Nash and Gus. One of my favorite things about Lucia Grace's books is her ability to create some amazing secondary characters. I can also appreciate a great twist, and she didn't disappoint on that either. And that cover? HELLO! If you love a good Alpha Male, insta-love kind of story, then you should definitely read this. While Inked Souls wasn't my favorite Lucia Grace book, she is still certainly one of my favorites and I cannot wait to read about Saylor and Nash (I am already giving them a couple name: Naylor)!
Get ready for an emotional ride with a little twist. Inked Souls is about Kennedy James and Rhett Shaw with an unorthodox extended family included. Kennedy is beautiful and broken from a past of pain. A foster child past around never fitting in a family. What is wants so badly. She leaves behind her life to find herself. She ends up in Sunvale finds a job and roommate in Saylor Shaw. Then with one look from Rhett Shaw she feels her soulmate. Rhett strong big Alpha tattooed holy hotness of a man. Owned of Inked Soul tattoo shop also Saylor brother. Kennedy fights this attraction all the way. Rhett fights for this all the way. Never giving up. He is all in with one look. Patience patience patience. The Shaw Effect lol. He knows and feels Kennedy is the families missing piece needs to get her to know it. Every part of them. Their past , their scars, their fears their future.
What a sweet, touching romantic story of two broken souls who are working to find their forever (whether they know it or not).
I absolutely love finding new Authors and let me tell you I am beyond thrilled that I found Lucia Grace's book Inked Souls. What an emotionally packed book. My heart broke for not only Kennedy but for Rhett and Saylor too! No one should have to have gone through what any of them did.
I am totally in love with Rhett. Yes, he is a manwhore but can he be redeemed. I can't tell you but it does seem that someone is going to change his game plan and knock him on his @ss. Just totally, 100% in love with him.
A lost soul - that's how is see Kennedy. She has been hurt by so many people in so many different ways that's she just packs everything up and goes. Is it DESTINY that she lands on the steps of In Ruins or is it just LUCK? Really you have to one-click to find out what happens!
I loved Inked Souls to pieces and I am HOPING that we get to see a book on Saylor. I loved her sassy self and would love to see the man that falls by her feet.
Fated love is something that we all want in life. When you meet that person that we are destined to be for and bam, that’s it. You are together forever. That’s what this story is all about. It’s about how Rhett and Kennedy come together after both experience a life without parents, though in different ways. They bond of their heartbreak and learn how to make a new family, together.
While I love the idea of a fated love story, I just wish there was more of that build up (denial). The second that Rhett sees Kennedy, that is it, he’s gone for. There is no hesitation or time to think about it, he’s gone. For me, I just felt it rushed that part of the story because you didn’t get to see that part where they fall in love. And let’s be honest, that’s the best part of a love story.
Outside of that, the rest of the story flows well. Once they are together you get to see them build that life together. But of course, it’s not going to be just easy peasy for the happy couple. There is a problem that comes to light that challenges everything that they are building.
Inked Souls is a beautiful story of love, friendships and finding a place to call home. It was heartfelt and it had some twists that kept me reading. The characters Kennedy and Rhett were likeable, and they had scorching hot chemistry! Liked the secondary characters too. Great read!
This is this first book I've read by Lucia Grace, and to be honest the first time I've heard of her. But let me tell you I'm going to be following her from now on because this book was just incredible. I absolutely devoured it in one sitting! I didn't want to stop reading it and I couldn't put it down. I needed to know what was going to happen and how Rhett was going to make Kennedy see he was different. I know some people don't believe in insta love or that insta connection but I certainly do because I have been there. Rhett and Kennedy are like two lost souls who complete each other. You get there background stories so you know exactly what they have been through to make them the way there are. Those secondary characters are so vital to the story and I hope some get there own book! Then you pull in all those feelings you get and it makes for perfect story with a beautiful tattoo on top!! I highly recommend this book!! - By Tina
Kennedy has had a really tough start in life and grew up being told she's worthless. This continues into her adult life, until she discovers the man she's seeing, is married. She packs up, leaves town and vows things are going to change. Kennedy rolls into town, no money, no job, no home. That all changes in one place. And then she meets Rhett, the cool tattoo artist. And so begins a romance. Kennedy is full of self doubts and is constantly referring to her past. Eventually, Rhett wins the girl. :)
This Book was Absolutely Everything. It means the World to me. I was like seeing part of my life being told in someone else's Beautifully written Words. Check out My attempt to do this Book Justice Check out My Review On Our Blog Page http://sheilasbookcorner.wordpress.com
Rhett and Kennedy are my new favorite couple!!!! This book had me laughing and crying and I loved it!! Can't wait to read more about the rest of there family!! I voluntarily reviewed a ARC copy of this book!
Inked Souls was my first introduction to Lucia Grace's writing, but I know it won't be my last! The chemistry between Kennedy and Rhett is unlike any other and the way it plays out builds the anticipation. I really liked that Rhett had to work for Kennedys attention. I hope we get Saylor and Nash's story next!
This is one of those reads that it was definitely not bad, but I also won't remember this in a day or two. But it did have all the good NA makings (albeit a little predictable) of a bit angsty, a bit emotional, a little suspense, and some seriously emotionally wounded MCs.
I've got nothing bad to say, but nothing to rave about either.
SPEECHLESS!! This is the first book I have read from Lucia Grace & 1st time Author for me. She did not Disappoint Me at ALL but Left me Speechless!!! Just from the PROLOGUE itself, kept you wanting More & keep turning the Pages! Kennedy and Rhett story grabs you by the horns and never let's you go!! Kennedy just wants love and find it in the wrong places until she's had enough & moves to to new town Sunvale. Rhett is big tattoo hot guy just happy with his "one -night stands" life and his Tattoo Parlor. Until one night the two Lost Souls eyed each other for the first time and was Bitten at Love At First Site!! This Book take you on a journey of the two characters lives in this small town and gives you an Emotional Rollercoaster a Ride of your LIFE!! Lucia... I Loved this BOOK and cannot wait for your next one!! Thank you!!♡ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rhett.....Although I’d damn near lay down my life for her already, and she’s barely given me the time of day. Just something about the look in her eyes. The pale green orbs carrying pain and vulnerability, yet a strength I don’t think even she knows she possesses. Can’t pinpoint it. But there’s something about her that calls out to me. Fucking hell, I am a damn pussy. But it’s the goddamn truth.

I had no idea what to expect when I opened this one (it's been on the app for a while) but I devoured it in a couple of hours and was in love.
The chemistry between these two was fantastic; I loved that we got both perspectives.
I also loved how Rhett was with Kennedy. It's difficult to find a guy who connects with a girl so easily like these two did, but in such a short time, the readers are falling in love with both of them. That Shaw effect definitely worked it's magic.
The writing was captivating, and hit all the right spots. Nothing lame or forced about the characters came across. Also, the small bit of drama to keep us readers on our toes was perfect - amazing job, 5 stars for sure. I want to see more of these 2 (and more tattooing)!
Blah!!! Hot ass cover is the only thing this book had going for it. I'm pretty sure I read the same paragraph 3 or 4 different times through the book. I'm so beautiful it's such a curse to be this good looking. Is about all I got out of the h. I don't bed a women more than once, we live in a small town but I've had a different women in my bed every single night for the past 10 years (not sure where these women came from) but I instantly fall in love with she's too beautiful to look at girl with no self esteem. Is all I got out of the H. Literally over and over. Waste of money, but enjoyed the cover🤦🏻♀️
The chemistry between Rhett and Kennedy was fantastic. Supporting characters were well written and funny. The story flowed really well and I couldn't put this book down. My only complaint was how many times he called her Angel. It was ALL the time and really got on my nerves. Don't get me started on how many times he said she had him all twisted up. But other than that, this was well worth reading. I loved it.
I don't know that I believe in insta-love, but I don't mind reading about it when its part of a good story. I like that Kennedy saw a need for a change in herself and stood string on that point.
This story touched my heart. This is the first book of Lucia's that I've read and I loved it! I see more of her in my future. Rhett and Kennedy are two broken souls that found and healed each other. Just amazing!
