Some of the most beautiful stories I've ever read (if with pretty workman like translations) mixed with travel ephemera and little anecdotes. Altogether, worth seeking out!

Feels very dated but the title story is evocative and memorable. I first read it decades ago but remembered the solitary, lonely walks there impoverished and sensitive narrator took at night.
