He wants to be my first, and he'll pay anything to make it happen. I joined the First Times for Sale website on a dare. It's not something I'd ever seriously consider, I mean... who sells their virginity? I didn't think someone would message me. Definitely didn't think I'd consider his offer. But talk about sexy-- and he's clearly rich. Something has to be wrong with him. He's got to be a creep, or broken, or dangerous. I tell myself this so I can try to resist my curiosity. And so I can resist messaging him back. Then I hit reply, and worse, I agree to meet him. It started as a dare. How will it end?
This is a standalone novella with a HEA and NO cheating! Penny Wylder writes just that-- wild romances. Happily Ever Afters are always better when they're a little dirty, so if you're looking for a page turner that will make you feel naughty in all the right places, jump right in and leave your panties at the door!
This novella is about 90 pages, and I easily read it in one sitting. A decent storyline with a LOT of steamy goodness and (of course) an HEA. The kind of thing you read when you're in the mood for a "quickie" that you know will deliver the goods.
Joyce jokingly signs up for a "Sell Your Virginity" website, not expecting to go through with it. But then Declan comes along and being much older and sexy, sweeps her off her feet. They fall for one another fast, and the rest is history.
I am conflicted on how to review this. Here's why:
OK, so the entire time I was reading First and Last I kept thinking, "wait, did I already read this? Is this a rename and republishment of a book she's already written? Did I miss something?" Well, no, I hadn't already read it, but I have read something startlingly similar by Penny Wylder, before. The Billionaire's Virgin, where the heroine also sets herself up on a Sell Your Virginity website, only she actually needs the money from the auction in order to support her ailing grandmother. Otherwise, the premise is so similar, it was like reading the same book. Much older, successful, sexy man sweeps her off her feet. There's a video-call sex scene. The entire idea was at the recommendation of a "bestie". I could go on.
Two reasons I'm giving this 3 stars rather than 1. First, I guess it isn't technically plagiarizing when the original was yours to begin with. Secondly, First and Last was done better than The Billionaire's Virgin. The characters were easier to connect with, although not very developed, and the sex scenes were steamier. So, if you're stuck between the two, I'd go with First and Last. If you end up loving it, then you will probably love TBV, also.
Unfortunately, I think I'm going to take a Penny Wylder break. I enjoy her writing, especially for a quicker, sexy read, but if she has to reuse plots then she's probably putting her books out too fast.
Declan and Joyce's story was a classic one and quite predictable but enjoyable non-the-less. Light and smooth to read, just perfect for my current mood!
I know what you’re thinking. You’re probably wondering why I’m getting so harsh with Penny Wylder books lately but I’m trying to be fair in my reviews and this book simply did not meet my standards for her books.
First of all, the premise of selling your virginity online to the highest bidder has been done and played out before. I found this story to be similar to a lot of reads you can pick up on your amazon kindle and really, there’s nothing much different from this one and the next except for maybe how the relationship ends.
I found both characters to be slightly annoying. We have our heroine who thought it would be funny to continue her online joke after her friend signed her up on the website after one night filled with too many bottles of wine. And we got our hero who is dark and mysterious that we literally know nothing about.
And you’re telling me that they will fall in love in the end?
“First and Last” is the story of Joyce and Declan.
Well this was .. bad. The hero was kind of a creep with a fetish, the heroine desperate. Him repeatedly calling her “my virgin” and her ignoring all the red flags and dumping the only friend who made sense. I know this couple is doomed..
Well that was a fun and dirty read. Is it excellent literature? No. But it was entertaining smut. We have a 22 year old virgin who after a night of drinking ends up with an account on a site to sell her virginity to the highest bidder. She meets a rich older man this way and quickly ends up doing naughty things with lots of orgasms.
Well, this has got to be the worst book I’ve ever read or, at the very least, in the top five worst books I’ve read so far. The phrase ’suspension of disbelief’ mostly gets used when talking about narratives that feature some fantastical, paranormal elements, such as those of horror, sci-fi or fantasy. However, I’ve found that I had to use it quite frequently lately, ever since I started reading romance and erotica. Let me elucidate on that a bit. The plot is pretty straightforward. Joyce and her best friend Violet are swapping weird sexual experiences over a bottle of wine one evening or, rather, Violet is telling Joyce about hers, as Joyce is a virgin and has none of her own stories to share. As the wine flows and the conversation turns to Joyce’s virginity, Violet comes up with a ridiculous idea – she signs up Joyce for a website where men bid on virgins. What starts off as an innocuous, drunken joke soon turns into reality once a wealthy older gentleman starts texting Joyce. Declan is his name and, apparently, bidding on virgins online is his hobby. Naturally, Joyce starts getting intrigued by this mysterious man and agrees to meet him in person. And, naturally, as one does, she gets far too intimate with him on their very first encounter and loses her virginity to him within days of having met him. Violet is against the relationship and tries to interfere, but ultimately comes to accept their alleged love for one another. And, naturally, Joyce and Declan get together, have mind-blowing sex and live happily ever after. I mean, what the actual f***? Suspension of disbelief doesn’t even begin to cover it. What kind of a person would trust and agree to meet with someone who spends their time bidding on virgins and dreaming of deflowering them? What kind of a person would start a relationship with someone like that? How could anyone trust the intentions of a man who places such high value on virginity and “the purity myth”? I would be stressed out for weeks if I even visited a site like that, for fear of not only contracting God knows what kinds of viruses, but also being tracked and exposed as someone who hangs around on such websites. Creating an account on such a website would be a step further into lunacy. Meeting someone who is a member in person yet another step further into complete insanity. There are no words strong enough for me to describe how disgusted I am with the entire concept of such websites and the fact that they actually exist, nor how utterly frightened I would be of the people who frequent them. Sorry, but there is no suspension of disbelief potent enough to let me ignore such pressing issues and enjoy this, otherwise, mediocre narrative.
It was good...hot with the holder man, younger virgin type genre. But I wanted to know more about Declan. The author kept alluding to him doing this sort of thing...buying a young virgin...frequently. But he never confirmed or denied. I just was so intrigued by him, that I would have loved to have learned more about him. And Joyce's friend at the end was just freaking weird. Why was she so upset, I mean, I get it..meeting someone from the internet can be a dicey thing...but she had already met him a few times before and everything was ok...so why the freak out, why the big blow up? Even with those questions, I did like the whole scene with the sculpture and he so upset trying to fix it. Kinda adorable. Anyway...hot read, but I wanted more.
I’ve been a fan of Penny Wylder since her first book, Penny is ALWAYS a must-read author. I love to read …. I read angst, dark, erotic, romance, sad, BDSM, drama, m/m, romantic, historic, comedy, short and long books. I believe there’s a time and “mind place” for reading certain books, Penny’s books are short, steamy, fun, sweet, light, fast paced, HEA, very little drama, enjoyable reads that always leaves me with a happy feeling.
I loved reading First & Last. A dare between 2 friends that ends in …. you need to read it to know. A story about Joyce: sweet, inexperienced and adventurous and Declan: Sexy, rich, mature. I would definitely recommend this sweet and sexy novella.
This was a fast and powerful read. I love the way the author brought all this together and put it in one little package. The sex was hot but at the same time the storyline for me could've continued on to be something more. This is a great summer fast read.
I'm so addicted to Penny Wylder books. They may be short but they are sexy and hot and I can't get enough. If you ever want a short & sexy read then one-click any of Penny's books. I love Joyce & Declan and you will too.

This book just wasn't for me. It wasn't a bad book it just wasn'tnot my style. I think I'm over the whole virgin. daddy. Older man. Dominant thing that seems to be popular right now. The girls always a virgin and the guys always an over experienced dominant dude. Overall not bad just not for me. I did think the cover was super cute though.
-Completely safe -No ow/om -Good heroine -Great hero: unfortunately we didn't learn much about him ~No separation: just a misunderstanding caused by the h's friend -No epilogue: I really wanted marriage and babies -I really like to read books with dual pov so this is one of the reasons why I felt that Declan was still a mystery to me.

This definitely was not my favourite Penny Wylder book. I wasn't sold on Declan at all. I just found him off putting. I wish we had his POV, I wanted to know why he was on a virgin site and if he bid on virgins regularly. The sex scenes are still hot! Look forward to reading her next book!
This was a really fun perfectly paced read. It was the story of a 22 year old virgin named Joyce and a Declan. Declan is a billionaire older man (early 40’s) who is looking at a website to see what is out there in the “dating” world. After getting drunk one night with her best friend Violet, Joyce finds herself with an account and in add on a website called First Times for Sale. This website is where people can auction off their virginity for money. The very first bid is for $50,000 (and it greatly increases throughout the story) and Joyce finds herself interested in the process and the option of this new adventure. Declan stumbles upon Joyce’s add and becomes obsessed (in the best way with Joyce and is determined to make her his. I loved the interactions between Joyce and Declan and their text messages to each other. The story was fun and sweet and there were times when the pages slightly ignited. The plot was well written and thought out and I loved that there was very little drama or conflict as the story mostly revolved around the two main characters. Declan was a great alpha male, and as a sucker for possessive, slightly obsessive males he became my favorite character fast. I was a little disappointed in Violet and felt that her character might have been better off deleted from the book, but that is what makes her a memorial character. The ending was sweet and a perfect way to end the story with the few moral questions that might have been raised. My favorite line: “You clearly forgot that I already made you mine.” I received an ARC and am leaving an honest voluntary review.
Penny Wylder’s flair for writing insta-lust/love novellas is incredible! Penny’s Latest release, “First & Last” flows seamlessly, the writing style is extremely professional (with few to no grammatical errors) and the characters are exceptionally engaging. “First & Last” is a sweet, endearing love story with an awesome ending. As with all of Penny’s novellas,” First & Last” also delivers her trademark Kindle melting heat (did I mention it is hot?!). I was easily captivated by the story and literally could not put it down. Hopefully, another novella is already in the works… since Penny Wylder releases tend to calm my author stalking tendencies!
I highly recommend ALL of Penny’s work, you will not be disappointed! Disclaimer: No Kindles were harmed writing this review (for children 18 and over only!)

Omg my poor little kindle nearly combusted whilst I was reading First and Last just now. This story will hook you in from the very beginning and not let you go until you read the end which you will be wishing never comes as this story is so cute and perfect. This is a fun, sexy and fast read you really need to one click as soon as you can. This 4.5 star novella will make you happy whilst reading it and maybe a bit hot and bothered too. Declan and Joyce's story is so sweet it will give you toothache. They meet in an unconventional way but their feelings for each other and the chemistry these two characters have is off the charts and oh so wonderful your heart aches for them to get their perfect HEA. I highly recommend you one click this novella and add it to your kindle collection. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I’ve read a few of Penny Wylder’s books and most are very good and she’s quickly become a favourite author but this was was so stupid I actually wondered if it was another author?? There was no story, just sex and the setting for their first encounter was totally unbelievable.
Very steamy read!! Quick and hot!! Joyce and Declan meet at the most unconventional way, but their story is sweet!! They have smoking hot chemistry and they hit it off immediately!!! Love the HEA ending!!!
Short and sweet. Gave me everything I wanted in a little quick read. I expect nothing less from Penny Wylder (Queen of Quickie). If you need a break from reality for a minute and feeling a little risky I'd say this is right up your alley. Joyce and Declan were adorable characters btw!
Sexy and super smut and a total foolish dumb and dangerous decision if it happened in real life.. but this was not real so HELL freaking YEAH!! this two was smothering.
