I just noticed the blurb says this book has 465 pages. Surely not. Well if there were that many they certainly went past quickly!

I enjoyed this book more than I did the previous one. The characters seemed to have settled down a little and Caitlyn is working hard on her witchy skills. It is midsummer and the town of Tillyhenge is abuzz as the summer solstice approaches. There are midnight bonfires, ancient stone circles, a black cat, a vampire and an English Lord to set the magical scene.

When someone dies after stealing a magic potion there are many possible suspects and Caitlyn finds it necessary to aid the police in discovering the murderer. She does this fairly intelligently but still manages to get herself involved in a dangerous conclusion.

An entertaining book especially if you enjoy a bit of ditzy magic. Oh and even more so if you like chocolate.

Welcome to a bewitching cozy mystery series, with a splash of magic. It was set in Britain and follows British English spelling and usage. You will be introduced to charming and lovable characters that entertain the reader through the twists and turns of each mystery, not easily solved. The heroine of this story is named Caitlyn Le Fey. After her mom passed away, she discovered that she was actually adopted after having been abandoned on the side of the road near Tillyhenge, a tiny English village. Caitlyn goes to Tillehenge, where her life changes dramatically. She lives in a room above a chocolate shop.

In this third installment, there is excitement in the air as everyone in the tiny village of Tillyhenge looks forward to celebrating the summer solstice called 'Midsummers Eve'. The Widow Mag's and her enchanted chocolates are spotlighted, not only at the Midsummer's Eve Festival, but when a teenage girl is murdered outside the chocolate shop and a priceless love potion is stolen from there at the same time, Caitlyn and her cousin, Pomona, work together sleuthing for the answers. Caitlyn follows clues down different paths until she is sure she has discovered the culprit. Is she right? Does it have anything to with those mysterious bonfires Caitlyn keeps seeing during the middle of the nights? Jump inside and discover this and more!

This is a clean read, which is I enjoy immensely. I was delighted to discover the lack of any typos or editing errors with this Kindle Unlimited edition (oh how this does deliver a more enjoyable read). The books in this series are able to stand on their own, but reading them in order assures that you don't miss any delightful details. The conclusion delivers an H.E.A. regarding the murder, but there will definitely be more entertainment from the band of merry characters in the remainder of the series!

Another bewitching chocolate mystery by H.Y. Hanna! What's not to like when you get a fun family of witches, a magic love potion and murder?
Caitlyn is just a delight as well as the rest of the Tillyhenge characters. There's even a bull named Ferdinand who could benefit from the love potion! A few twists and turns with magic and romance thrown in, you'll find yourself eagerly awaiting the next book in the series as soon as you finish reading the last page!

Witch Summer Night's Cream by H.Y. Hanna is the 3rd book in the Bewitched by Chocolate Mystery series. A teenage girl is killed outside the chocolate shop clutching the label off a rare love potion ingredient. A delightful and entertaining book with Caitlyn learning more of her witchcraft abilities. Victor, the elderly vampire, is always fun and comical and the chocolates sound very tempting. An outstanding magical cozy mystery.

Book three in the series picks up right after the events in the second book.
The main character's journey in finding out who she is continues but the journey is only part of this well written whodunit.
All the elements of a good cozy are here, a small village setting, a hint of potential romance and a whodunit that keeps you guessing.
The magical chocolate shop and the witchcraft elements put this book high on my list of recommended books. I cannot wait to read more in the series! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.

This was exactly the type of book I was in the mood for! It felt like I flew through this book, as I was enjoying it so much. And now I wish the next book was already here, because I want more! I am really enjoying this series so far and this book was so good! I always know I am in for a great read when I start one of HY Hanna's books. I love how she mingles the mystery plot lines with the paranormal and other side plot lines in this series. Each book has it's own mystery that gets wrapped up by the end and some side plot lines as well, but there are also plot lines that span the whole series so far.

The mystery was a good one. I was pretty stumped at first, none of the suspects seemed right to me and then a small sentence from someone suddenly made me realize who the murderer was with almost 100% certainty. It turned out I was correct and I felt pretty pleased about that. I enjoyed reading about how Caitlyn pierced it together eventually. I did think it was a good mystery with enough of those small clues that you could figure it your yourself. I always like that in a mystery book, when it is possible to figure out the mystery.

Besides the murder plot line we have the sprinkles of paranormal throughout the story. I think the paranormal part is very well done. It adds to some fun scenes and it's present without being too overwhelming. Caitlyn learns a bit more about magic in each book. As the title suggest there's a bit of a connection to a mid summer night's dream. I haven't ever read the story so I didn't really get the references, but luckily it was pretty minimal. There's also a bit more about the stone circle and a magical scene at the end of the book.

I like reading about Caitlyn, although sometimes she can a be a bit bossy and she can jump to conclusions at times. She determines who the murderer must be and tries to focus the police to look that way. But mostly I really like her, she gets herself in some trouble and fun situations and I like how curious and caring she can be.

There's also a fun side plot line involving a herd of cows and the bull Ferdinand. From the first scene involving them I knew how that plot line would be resolved, but it was still fun to see it all play out. We also have the romance between James and Caitlyn progress a bit, with that last scene of the book I have high hopes for them. And I wonder if we'll hear more about those horses from one of the later scenes in later books. There are some new characters and we see more of already familiar characters.

To summarize: if you enjoy a good cozy mystery with a sprinkle of magic I can't recommend this series enough! HY Hanna really knows how to write a good mystery series and it felt like I flew through this book because I enjoyed it so much! The mystery was a good one, although after a small hint I was suddenly sure who the murderer was. But it was still fun to see Caitlyn figure it out and piece everything together. The paranormal aspects is well done as usual and leads to some fun scenes. There are also some side plot lines like one about some cows and some plot lines from previous books that progress a bit. We learn a bit more about the stone circle and the romance between Caitlyn and James seems to move forward a tad. I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait for the next book in this series!

Midsummer's Eve is only a few days away and Evie is helping at Bewitched by Chocolate when Mandy Harper comes into the shop. Mandy is one of the girls who likes to tease Evie and does so at every opportunity. When Chris Bottoms comes into the store to pick up an order for Huntington Manor, Mandy starts flirting just to irritate Evie. After Mandy and Chis leave, Evie makes it known that she is furious at Mandy and wishes she was dead.

When Caitlyn sees the familiar glow of fire from the stone circle at the top of the hill, she goes to inestigate. Heading up the hill, she trips over Mandy's body. Mandy was clutching a label for a "love potion", something which several people had an interest in. There were two strangers in towm who also had an interest in the potion - Dennis Kirby, who is interested in obtaining Widow Mags' secret for chocolate and Professor Ruskin, who wants proof that Shakespeare's Mid-Summer Night's Dream play was really based on fact.

Who killed Mandy? Was the killer after the "love potion"? Or is something more sinister going on? Can Caitlyn solve the mystery?

This is a fun series with great characters. The twists and turns in the story do a great job of keeping you guessing. I can hardly wait for the next book in the series.

I received a copy of this book from the author, but the comments are my own.

I absolutely love this series which features Caitlyn Le Fey, who has just discovered that she was adopted and has found part of her real family in Tillyhenge in the Cotswolds Countryside of England. Her newfound Grandmother Mags, owns a chocolate shop, Bewitched by Chocolate, and her creations, many say, are too wonderful to be just chocolate. Consequently, the villagers suspect Mags of being a witch and shun her shop, where Caitlyn now lives, and has begun learning the chocolate-making "craft" from her Grandmother, which may involve a bit of magic.

With Midsummer's Eve approaching, Evie tells Caitlyn that the Widow Mags has secretly been adding a bit of a love potion to her chocolate sauce, that has everyone a bit giddy and chocolate-crazy. Then all havoc breaks loose in Tillyhenge, from a break-in at Bewitched by Chocolate where the love potion goes missing, to the murder of a teenage girl. When her cousin, Evie, is suspected of the murder, it is up to Caitlyn to find the real murderer and the stolen love potion to clear Evie's name.

Witch Summer Night's Cream is truly a delightful book, and I would recommend reading it with some really good chocolates nearby. I cannot wait for the next installment in this wonderful series which I know you will enjoy as much as I have.

4 Stars... Love is in the air, or rather in a potion??? A teenage girl is murdered and a love potion is missing... A shy, awkward teenager, a seemingly crazy gentleman obsessed with "A Midsummer Night's Dream", and a shady businessman focused on stealing the Old Mags' secret ingredient are the top suspects... All is not what it seems though, and it is up to Caitlyn to solve the mystery and learn the truth... She must learn to trust her magical instincts and believe in both herself and the supernatural unknown if she is to succeed... Nothing a little dash of chocolate and a healthy dose of magic can't solve... A sweet cozy mystery with some interesting twists and turns; a truly magical series:)

ok - I usually love a cosy mystery, especially from this author, but this one grated on me a little. As we know (an much to the dislike of my best friend lol) these cosy mysteries involve amateurs getting involved in murder mysteries. Usually I don't mind this, but this time the main character was so sure she knew who the murderer was numerous times and it was always someone different, making her look like a complete dick! I will continue this series because I do love the author and her other series, but this one was a little cringe.

Having read the first two books in this deliciously different series, I was looking forward to Caitlyn’s next adventure. Well done to Ms Hanna on another excellent instalment. I enjoyed meeting up with familiar characters again, especially my favourite vampire, Viktor. He had me laughing out loud so much so that I ended up having to read a particular section to my husband to share the humour.

I felt that in this novel the author was giving equal focus to the development of her characters and to seeing them solve the mystery. I very much enjoyed this combination. Caitlyn has quite a lot to deal with as she comes to terms with the death of her adoptive mother, discovering her natural family, and developing her witchy powers. And then there’s the very slow and gentle move towards a possible romance between her and the gentlemanly James.

In fact, this is a very character-driven novel altogether, and I particularly enjoyed Evie and her usual unfortunate forays into magic, the larger-than-life Pomona, a bumbling professor, and of course the animals. Ms Hanna obviously has such an affinity with animals and writes them so well. Nibs is a lot of fun as usual as he runs rings around everyone, including James’ large dog, Bran. And then there’s a new animal character who was very sweet, unusual, and entertaining. I hope we get to see him again.

The author continues to mix fairy tales and folklore, and this time added in a bit of darker magic. While this last aspect is not something I really like, I could appreciate the clever way that she wove the different elements together.

The murder mystery itself was interesting, but I did have strong suspicions as to who the killer was some way before the end of the book. However, as I had no idea how or why they’d done it, it didn’t stop me from enjoying the rest of the story.

Well done Ms Hanna on more chocolatey magic. I’m looking forward to book four. A review copy of this book was sent to me by the author. All of the above opinions are my own.

I love this series because the main characters are so likeable. In the first story I immediately felt empathy for Caitlyn as a lost soul trying to find out her history from before she was adopted. It has however got to the end of book 3 and although she knows some of her background, she is still being thwarted in getting to the bottom of her full background. Frustratingly thwarted by her grandmother. I keep mulling over why her grandmother would keep such information from her and at the moment it just doesn’t make sense, but am sure all will be revealed by the end of book 6! Then there is the relationship between James and Caitlyn. It goes at a realistic pace when you realise that the first 3 books have all happened over a 2 / 3 week period. The books continue after each other but it feels like they should be long chapters rather than separate books. Bit of an expensive read, sometimes implausible (all the main characters pulling up chairs and listening in to a suspect being questioned by the police) though thoroughly enjoyable easy read!

“Witch Summer Night’s Cream” earns 5+/5 Vials of ‘Love-in-Idleness’ Extract!

Caitlyn Le Fey’s magical apprenticeship is exciting, but she knows she has a long way to go to be proficient. While helping her grandmother, in the Bewitched by Chocolate shop, she is able to test out various spells and potions and learn how to manipulate chocolate with the most delicious and magical results. Cousin Evie pops in to help. She is worried about the ‘creepy’ professor in the corner asking probing questions about the local rumors of witches and spells, eager to find evidence that Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream is based on reality to gain his ‘fifteen minutes’ or more of fame. But, the afternoon goes awry when one of Evie’s ‘mean girl’ classmates comes in teasing her about her looks and her crush on young Chris Bottom. Evie’s lack of self confidence effects her ability to hold her tongue, “I…I wish Mandy Harper would drop dead!” She will regret that outburst when the police hone in on her as a main person of interest when Mandy Harper ends up dead.

YES! I am so engaged in this series which is why I refer to it as one of my top five favorites of all time. It is H.Y. Hanna’s entertaining writing and humor that sparked my interest, but it is the strong and loyal character in Caitlyn, quirky personalities in Widow Mags and Pomona, hint of romance with the handsome Lord Fitzroy, the enigmatic Thane Blackmort, and the underlying mystery of who Caitlyn is that makes me drop everything to read, even reread. Additionally, “Witch Summer Night’s Cream” is extremely creative weaving in the premiss that a favorite classic, Shakespeare’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream,” is based on realty. That the fairies, the magic, and the love potion really do exist, and that Professor Ruskin believes Tillyhenge, the stone circle, and the forest is that place. This is not juvenile ‘hocus-pocus,’ but a realistic approach to the idea that magical creatures beyond our perception exist and are delightful, helpful, and even dangerous. There are several marvelous paranormal cozies that I enjoy, but this is the absolute best!

WITCH SUMMER NIGHT’S CREAM, the third installment in the Bewitched by Chocolate mystery series, is fun, light reading. The action picks up right where WITCH CHOCOLATE FIDGE leaves off, this time focusing on the death of a local teenager. Mean girl Mandy Harper sets her nasty sights on Caitlyn’s cousin Evie, humiliating the girl in front of her crush and the customers of her grandmother’s shop Bewitched by Chocolate. Evie quickly becomes the prime suspect, and Caitlyn is determined to find the real killer.

I really like this series, and Hanna does a nice job of balancing the mystery, a potentially budding romance, witchcraft, and English village life. The mystery here is solid, and even though I identified whodunit fairly early on, there are plenty of twists to keep me second guessing myself until the very end. The paranormal element has been relatively light hearted up to this point, but there is a touch of dark magic here. A big part of the plot involves a love potion and a village visitor who believes that the potion in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is based on fact. I enjoyed all of the tie-ins between the play and the mystery here. There is also a thread concerning a lovely bull Ferdinand who is shunned by all of the other cows that is sweet and comical. I hope we see more of Ferdinand in the future.

This is very much a character driven series, and the main protagonist Caitlyn is likable. She tends to jump to conclusions, which can be annoying, but she does it out of passion for truth and love of her family. The other recurring characters are also interesting and well drawn. Of course, gentlemanly lord of the manor James is meant to be deliciously handsome, but I find his kindness and generosity more attractive than his physical appearance. My favorite character is vampire guardian Viktor. He provides plenty of comic relief. How can you not love an elderly vampire who misplaces his false fangs at every turn?

I recommend WITCH SUMMER NIGHT’S CREAM to any cozy reader looking for an amusing mystery with a touch of paranormal.

I received a copy of this book from the author and voluntarily shared my opinions here.

This is the third book in H.Y. Hanna's "Bewitched by Chocolate" series, and what a cute series it is!

The recurring characters are Caitlin, her cousin Pomona, the handsome Lord James Fitzroy, the Widow Mags, her daughter Bertha and teenage grandaughter Evie, the vampire Viktor, and a cute little kitten named Nibs.

The Widow Mags is a witch with powerful spells, her granddaugher Evie is an up-and-coming witch who has no control over her powers yet, and Viktor is a very elderly vampire who looks out for Caitlin but sometimes is more of a nuisance than a help.

This time around we have the murder of a teenage schoolgirl, a classmate of Evie's, who bullies Evie mercilessly. When the girl is found dead, the police's main suspect is none other than Evie. Caitlin is sure that Evie didn't do it, although all evidence points to her. Caitlin believes the murderer is one of two people: a man who has been hanging around the chocolate shop wanting to steal a powerful ingredient that the Widow Mags uses in her chocolates or a professor whose ramblings are so outrageous that no one believes anything he says. But who is really the murderer, and how can she prove it?

In this book we also meet a new character that Caitlin befriends, a very gentle bull named Ferdinand who is very lonely because he is rejected by all the cows. I hope Ferdinand comes back in future stories--just like the little kitten (Nibs) and the dog (Bran), Ferdinand is a very endearing character.

I have read all the books in Miss Hanna's other series, and as much as I love her other series, this series has become my favorite.

The murder mystery is fully resolved in this book, so it is a standalone story and you don't need to buy her other books, but there are some side stories that continue from book to book, such as the hint of a future romance between Caitlin and Lord James, and the back story of Caitlin's birth mother. However, the side stories connect from one book to the next, and are interesting enough that you might want to follow them. And this series is so cute, you'll probably want to read them all anyway.

“Witch Summer Night’s Cream” earns 5+/5 Vials of ‘Love-in-Idleness’ Extract…Clever Fun!

Additionally, “Witch Summer Night’s Cream” is extremely creative weaving in the premiss that a favorite classic, Shakespeare’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream,” is based on realty where the fairies, the magic, and the love potion really do exist. This is not juvenile ‘hocus-pocus,’ but a realistic approach to the idea that magical creatures beyond our perception exist and are delightful, helpful, and even dangerous. Pearl Hewitt is an extraordinary narrator who can transport the reader/listener into H.Y. Hanna’s world in the cotswolds. With a range of accents (I love Viktor) and British dialects and a great effort at the voices of the male characters, she presents the tone, emotion, and various personalities enriching the cozy experience. Although you can enjoy this series in print/eBook format, the audio version is outstanding!

Another intriguing mystery! I have really been enjoying this series, and the third installment did not let me down at all!

I really enjoy the character development. Caitlyn is now trying to come to grips with the her powers and her new-found relatives. This is obviously quite a transition, but it feels realistic and I like that she does express her confusion at times. She is an endearing character who is smart, fun, and relate-able. The secondary characters are great as well, and I seem to love them more with each book--especially Paloma!

The mystery was fantastic as always. I loved the incorporation of one of my favorite works by Shakespeare, Midsummer Night's Dream! It added a fun and whimsical element I really enjoyed. I was definitely surprised by the killer, which I always enjoy!

I did like the ending, but I would really like James and Caitlyn's relationship (although I'm not sure you can really call it that at this stage) to progress! That's really my only complaint with the series at this point, although hopefully not for much longer!

*I received an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

This is the third mystery novel in the Bewitched By Chocolate series, written by H. Y. Hanna.

In this installment of the series, Caitlyn finds a young teen dead in the garden behind the Chocolate Shop. It is almost Midsummer's Eve and Widow Mags has been making a chocolate sauce that seems to be like a love potion. People cannot resist her chocolate covered strawberries. There are three separate love stories going in this plot. Caitlyn is trying to win over James, her cousin Evie has a crush on Chris Bottom, and even Ferdinand the bull on the neighboring farm is having trouble with the cows in the pasture. Bringing in some tourists who are searching for the love potion, one who works for a rival chocolate company and a professor who is fascinated with Shakespeare's play, Midsummer Night's Dream. There are many references to the famous Shakespeare play in the book.

A fun cozy mystery series that engages the reader in both the plot and the characters. It is fun to come back again and again to see how characters that you watch grow are coming along in their fairy tale lives.

Witch Summer Night's Cream by H. Y. Hanna was a fun afternoon read for me. I always enjoy visiting Caitlyn in her new home of Tillyhenge.

Caitlyn is a sweet young woman who seems to be a little naive when it comes to life and personal relationships in spite of her worldly upbringing with her adoptive mother. She is slowly accepting her new found abilities but self-doubt about herself keeps rearing it's ugly head. I do love the way Ms. Hanna is developing each character more and more in each story. Ms. Hanna's descriptive writing always makes me feel as if I am right there in Tillyhenge with Caitlyn, Pomona, Aunt Bertha, Evie and the Widow Mags. The mystery was filled with twists and turns and two obvious suspects so I never guessed who the murderer was until the reveal. The Midsummer Solstice ritual added another layer to the paranormal aspect in this cozy that amped the danger factor to the citizens of Tillyhenge and the world. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. All of the above opinions are my own.

In this latest edition of the fabulous mystery series 'Bewitched By Chocolate,' we find ourselves in the Cotswold village of Tillyhenge. This has become the new home for our amateur sleuth, Caitlyn Le Fay. Caitlyn, besides discovering her biological family, has also been given the news that she is from the family of witches.

It is Midsummer's Eve and there is not only a love potion that has gone missing, there is murder, a love-sick bull, and Yes, his name is Ferdinand, people dabbling in witchcraft and a budding romance between the Lord of the Manor and our Caitlyn, at least I hope there is.

Ms. Hanna writes very fluidly where you find you have just begun the tale and zoom, you are at the ending...wanting more. Her character development and storyline instantly engages you. This series is truly among her best works yet.

If you enjoy humor, murder, action, and a bit of the sixth senses...this series is for you. Of course, you should be a fan of Chocolate, as after reading the novel you will be craving some.

It's always a good day when there's a new Bewitched by Chocolate mystery to curl up with. With the series now in the third book, I easily fall back into the lives of the main characters of Tillyhenge.
The summer solstice is approaching & several people want to get their hands on the secret ingredient to the Widow Mags' love potion. Good thing it's kept locked away with a little help from a magic spell...until someone manages to steal it anyway that is.
It's business as usual in the magical chocolate shop until Caitlyn's cousin, Evie, is suspected of murdering a nasty classmate who's been perfectly nasty towards her.
It's nice to see the bond the cousins are developing which means Caitlyn has to investigate to keep Evie out of trouble with the Inspector. Making matters worse, Evie has a serious crush on a boy named Chris who she's determined to make fall in love with her. I knew it would turn out disastrous based on Evie's magical ability but wasn't quite expecting the outcome from her attempt at a love potion. I had to laugh at the description of the results! Good thing it wasn't permanent.
I'm glad that Caitlyn is learning to develop her magic skills more now. Her relationship with James Fitzroy is moving forward so slowly. (But it is moving forward at least.) I wonder if she'll tell him she's a witch before or after they finally admit their feelings for each other?
I must admit I was shocked at who was causing the bonfire Caitlyn kept seeing at night since the beginning of the books. It was a fitting outcome considering. I'm hoping for more of that to be addressed in the next book.
Although the mystery is always satisfying, I'm never quite ready for it to be over. Until next time...

I've been eagerly awaiting this book, as it's now one of my favourite series, and I was not disappointed!! Each book is written in such a way that they work as stand alone mysteries, yet when read in sequence it's interesting to see where the overall story appears to be going as we learn more about the wonderfully unique array of characters and the beautiful village of Tillyhenge. Caitlin has another murder to solve as she gets to know both her new family and developing magical abilities. There are some great new faces to meet In this book, both human & bovine, and all with a healthy sprinkle of laugh out loud antics, a dash of romance and as always the most delicious chocolatey descriptions to enjoy. Not to mention a little dose of education in the form of a Shakespearean tale.
