Very disappointed

I really am so disappointed in this story. First off it went back in time showing how Gubba got his power. It was also about Anna growing up and her living between two worlds. With her Dad and dying mother in one world, and with her Grandmother and baby brother in another. It was not as intriguing as the first part at all. Around 66% it went back to the present in one world where it took up after the events in the first book. I was so excited but then, it ends terribly. I thought so at least. You never find out what happened to Hannah, or how Anna came back from a coma, and if she came back alone. Its just over. No mention of another book. No tying up loose ends and you don't even know if it is a good ending. I was just so disappointed. Oh well I still like this authors style of writing. Just wish it would have been A better plotline.

Great Story

“It was just a dream.”

“Sh, baby, it was just a dream.”

When Andrew and Julia have their baby, they quickly realize their daughter is very different from other children. The girl’s grandmother tries to warn them. Their daughter, Anna, has a gift. She travels the worlds at night as one of the shadowpeople. But she is also in grave danger.
When Andrew and Julia finally realize her old grandmother is right, it is too late. The man with the umbrella has already set his eyes on Anna.

Blackbird Fly is a masterful, intensely suspenseful novel from the Queen of Scream. It is the second book in Willow Rose’s Umbrella Man trilogy.

I loved this book not just from the sheer terror that started with Umbrella Man, but because in this book we dive in to the history of Anna. We find out about why she's blind and why here father tries so hard not to believe in what his family was gifted with.

I would recommend this book to anyone that loves a horror story.

Whoa! Where is the third book?

I really loved this one! Intense from the get go. I was really hoping she would find a way to bring Lucas back with her. I know... high hopes... but it still would have been cool! Now I'm wondering if she is using his eyes or her grandmothers. Wish there was a 3rd booo so I could find out.

"It was just a dream."

We all say that to our children when they have a nightmare and wake up crying, don't we? "Sh, baby, it was just a dream," But what if there's no such thing as a bad dream? What if dreams are portals to other worlds where evil lurks?

When Andrew and Julia have their baby, they quickly realise their daughter is very different from other children. The girl's grandmother tries to warn them. Their daughter, Anna, has a gift. She travels the world at night as one of the shadowpeople. But she is also in grave danger. When Andrew and Julia finally realise her old grandmother is right, it's too late. The man with the umbrella has already set his sights on Anna.

This story tells us how the Umbrella Man came about, and the reason why Anna is blind. I think I enjoyed this book slightly better than Umbrella Man. We learned more about all the characters. We found out how they could "travel" into other people's dreams. This is an easier book to read. It did leave a lot of unanswered questions, though. It also said it was part of a trilogy, but I can't find the third book, which is a shame.

After reading the first book "Umbrella Man" I was intrigued. As soon as I finished the book and realized their was a 2nd book, I added it my list to read. This book gave a lot of background information that helped tie together the characters in the first book a lot more. We found out more about Gubba and how he learned to terrorize people in their dreams, along with being able to hurt them. There was interesting twist towards the end of the story about Anna's grandmother. At the end of this book it talked about a 3rd book (hence the trilogy aspect) but I couldn't find it any where out there. Both of the first 2 books were done in 2017, so I thought there would definitely be a 3rd and final version of the story. I don't care for the ending of this book. I want to know if Anna is using Gubba's or someone else's eyes to see with. Definitely a good read with some answers and more details about people "traveling" into other people's dreams. I hope the trilogy gets finished.

This is the best horror book I’ve ever read. It is the backstory in the Umbrella Man Duology. Even better than book one, it takes you through the journey of the parallel worlds and the serial killer huntings. I love the easy read, it was so essential for such difficult to convey subject matter such as the mechanics of her parallel worlds. I’m pretty strong minded, but I can easily see how this book could be disturbing to some with less strongly founded ideas and assurances. Some triggers for this book are: other worlds/ realms, sleeping, sleep walking, mind control, comas, serial killing, fear. As you can see, some pretty dark themes. It was a fantastic story with perfect plotting, pace, and details; a real gem. I do recommend starting with Book 1.

"Nightmares Are Not Dreams"

Dreams can take you to many places ... flying in the blue sky, sailing on the ocean, romping through the woods. Can dreams also be portals to such places? Could they take you to other worlds where evil lurks? Andrew and Julia have a lovely little daughter. But, Anna seems different from other children. Anna has a gift of which only her grandmother is aware. Before long, her trips at night bring the Umbrella Man into her life. He has his eyes set on Anna. This is a very tense, scary supernatural thriller which only the Queen of Scream can write. Don't stop reading it ... and stay awake while reading! Highly recommend for the brave!

Excellent entertaining fantasy listening 🎶🔰

Another will written fantasy Sci-Fi world 🌎 adventure thriller novel by Willow Rose 🌹 Umbrella 🌂 Man 🚹 Series book 2. About Anna and family living in south Florida. Anna is a traveler going to many worlds in her dreams. When her mother dies they move back to the Seminole reservation to live with her grandmother. The umbrella 🌂Man comes looking for her with lots of misdirection and action leading to 👍 the conclusion of book two in the series. I would highly recommend this series and author to readers of fantasy world 🌎 adventure mysteries. Enjoy the adventure of reading novellas, novels, and books. 2022 👒😢😯

Thrilling

Willow Rose never stops delivering! Blackbird Fly takes off where Umbrella Man stopped. She delves deeper into the characters of Anna and the rest.
Anna was born a traveler. She has traveled ever since she was an infant, and because of that she is very strong.
Willow Rose kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book. The only thing I disliked is the cliff hanger ending! Arrg!
I strongly suggest that everyone who loves a mystery/horror read this book. Of you haven't read Umbrella Man I suggest you read that first though.

What just happened?

After the first Unbrella Man book I was hooked. I needed to read number 2. Now that I have finished it there are questions unanswered. Reading the character`s back stories was interesting but the ending was awful. The last thing Anna says when her father ask how did she get her sight back was "does it matter." I would like to answer that by saying "yes it does, Anna." It matters very much to me. It should have been explained. That is no way to end a book. Someone please help me out by letting me know what happened. Thanks in advance.

Intriguing story

This is an intriguing story. I love Anna she is very loveable and cares for her family to a fault. I read this in less than a day, once I began I couldn't put it down. Kind of worried where the next story is heading, can't wait to find out if I am right.
I recommend this book to readers who enjoy reading stories that won't let you go till the end ! Excellent book !

Although I thoroughly enjoyed this book, you may want to wait before you read it. The second book in this trilogy, black bird fly, was published in 2017. As of the time of this review in 2023, there is no third book in this so-called trilogy. I don’t know if, or, when Willow Rose will do the third book. It is listed as a trilogy, but there is no Expected release date for a third book. In a nutshell, you are going to be left hanging!

Interesting story

Really interesting story of Anna and her travels. The umbrella man is a relentless and evil character. The book kept me engaged and interested in the characters and what happens to them. Nice unexpected twist made it interesting. Like this author. Happy reading.

This is a must read, but only if you read the first book, The Umbrella Man. Young Anna can travel to other worlds but her parents only believe she is dreaming, until she wakes up with bruises. She learns that people in this world die but can be found in other worlds, but also that evil lurks in these other worlds.

Loved the second book

As I was reading, I was beginning to wonder if this book should have been the first one. However, it all worked out and this is definitely the second one. The first book was about as Stephanie while this was more about Anna. If you haven't started reading these, you should do so .

Blackbird Fly kh

I read and very much enjoyed Umbrella Man, but Blackbird Fly was even better. Getting to know more of Anna and Andrew's backgrounds, and meeting Julie, Igoshi, and Lukas was awesome. I feel so much more invested in this series now. Definitely looking forward to the next book.

I didn’t care a lot for the first book in this series…but it was OK. I really enjoyed Blackbird Fly, though…not quite as gory as Umbrella Man. This story was about how the Umbrella Man came to exist. It’s kind of nice to have a book follow another book, that goes back to a time before that other book, and explains the circumstances. Sure makes it a lot easier to follow.

The second book in the Umbrella Man series is a continuation of the story of the evil Umbrella Man and the travelers he loves to harass. Causing pain and suffering, ET and Gubba try to gain entry to the world where they originated. Lots of suspense and things to fear. Can be read alone but to get the full story read Umbrella Man first.

'Blackbird Fly' was very creative. Well written and well thought out. The story line was incredibly thrilling and suspenseful. Andrew and Anna have been through quite a bit. This book is their story. Anna was put through so much. But she is definitely a strong willed girl. I can't wait to read the next book. A must read..

Supernatural thriller

Blackbird Fly by Willow Rose is the second book in the supernatural trilogy Umbrella Man. If you enjoy the supernatural then you will like this series. It is about Anna, a Native American girl, who has the ability to travel to and live in different worlds in her dreams. She is called a traveler.

Obsessed with this series!

I am have devoured the two books Willow Rose has written in the Umbrella Man series and can’t wait to continue reading them in the future! I loved how the author provided background on the characters we met in the first book while continuing to develop their stories in the second book. Definitely worth reading!

Umbrella Man Book 2

This book kept me awake at night, trying to read it all as fast as I could. It was always”just one more chapter” over and over until I couldn’t hold my eyes open! Exciting and suspenseful all the way through ! And no big grammar or spelling errors, which totally ruins a book for me. I can hardly wait for Book 3, I hope she releases it soon!

I enjoyed Blackbird Fly a lot more than the first book. I loved reading about Anna and her family's story. I thought this installment really answered a lot of questions I had from reading Umbrella Man. There still wasn't any shock value and any sort of terror in this book but it was very entertaining nonetheless. I actually look forward to reading book three once it releases.

A great book as usual by a fantastic author. I have never read a book by her that wasn't superb. The couple finds out very quickly that their baby is totally different, but not necessarily in a good way. What to do. Great scary story, not to be missed.

She did it again!

Willow Rose has definitely caught my attention with this book. She is definitely the "Scream Queen." I haven't found a book I've been severely disappointed with yet. Looking forward to reading the third book to this series. ❤
