So the first 75% of this book was a fairly ordinary and average shifter book, a book well on its way to 3 star land. Then, we hit the last 25% and man did we take the train straight to depressionville. It just felt like it came out of nowhere and ruined the story. This book didn't have a HEA, it had a awful stuff happened and we all blame ourselves but we lived so now we have to carry on with our regret..... Great. Way to ruin my night. I need a flipping romcom now.

Sorry, but you could totally tell that this was originally a Wattpad story. The chapters did not flow all that well together, the characters were quite cookie-cutter, and the writing was fairly simple.
Even with this being a Wattpad story, I still wanted to read this because I sometimes love shifter Wattpad stories. But I stopped reading at the point where the characters are already together. Sorry, but I did not really want to read anything after that point. I want angst and longing. I don't want an outside conflict whenever the couple is already together.

2.5 Stars - The overall plot of this story was O.K. Unfortunately, it was the style of writing that did this story in for me. I would recommend this author read other books with hire ratings and figure out where to go from here. Landon and Lana's story could have been a winner.

Potential

Great potential, bad writing style. I still recommend reading it. The book has the potential to be amazing if revised. Everything just seemed to happen at once in the story, which was frustrating, but the bones of the story made it worth reading.

The couple: Landon and Lana

Romance trope: shifter
Length: 207 pages

Plot: Landon, the young alpha, was blinded in an attack on his pack and is left struggling. Lana escaped an abusive alpha and is taken to the blind alpha who relegates her to the kitchens as an omega. She knows he's her mate; she just has to prove it. But even once they admit who they are to each other, there are dangers coming for them and they will need to rely on each other and the members of their pack to keep everyone together and safe.

Commentary: So, standard Wattpad shifter story. Tropes/characteristics included:
*very young leads - in this one, the alpha became alpha when he was 16 (and it always surprises me in these stories because often the dad is alive and not that old and still strong enough to lead, but for no reason at all steps aside to let his teenage son with no experience lead the pack)
*sassy omega who is not like the other girls and will lead some sort of a revolution (soft insert on this one - she argued with Landon about omega rights and got some things changed around rather than leading an army as normally happens)
*Kidnapping by bad guy
*uneven plot (Wattpad story structure encourages short chapters but you have to keep your readers coming back fo the rest of the serial. Because of that, the plot reaches a climax too quickly and stays there - the action and angst and tension is always at an 11 because readers won't come back for "boring" exposition or "filler" chapters)
*flat characters
*grammatical/word choice issues

This story had a strange third-act escalation and a wishy-washy HEA. I think without those two things, I would have given it a 2.5 or maybe even a weak 3 stars. I think the best things about it are that even though the hero found a way around his blindness, it wasn't cured and the heroine didn't have magical powers from the moon goddess that would turn her into a mega-Luna (as is the case in many of these stories). There was moderation there.

I love this book so much, even though I cried a lot (when I promised myself I won't) and felt as depressed as the characters did. Though I wished there was a way for Landon to be able to see, without needing to call for his wolf. I was hoping there was a way, but I understand that sometimes it can't happen. Though I felt the main character was stupid most of the time, I still read and love the book. Can't wait for me to go and buy the book. So excited! :)

Loved the book, the characters were well rounded but I do think that the ending felt rushed.
Either it could have been left as a cliffhanger and gone into another book, maybe give some more depth into Mason's side of things or been longer. But still overall I really enjoyed the book and will most likely read it again.

Weak characters

This could have been a great book and they definitely over came a lot of stuff but, they where both so weak I don’t even know how they could build each other up let alone lead a pack. Also a lot of stuff happened without a background story and it impacted the main characters a lot.

OMG! How can anyone be so cruel and evil! The characters are unique, the plot is unbelievable! You get sucked into the story from the first word till the last! You feel the friendships, their anguish, you suffer with them, fight, grieve, cry and feel their desperation and fear. And In the end you survive with them.

Could of been amazing but rushed , needed WAY MORE EDITING, main person was a idiot not a strong lead at all ,and her mate was just as worst let me be a a**hole because I lost my sight and be hot and cold with my mate the whole book but say I love her . and clearly the author knows nothing about how pregnancy works (even if it’s a shifter) you can’t kill the baby off , then get raped to only get pregnant the next day by someone else but end up killing that baby too because “your mate wouldn’t be able to accept someone else’s baby” not how the body works at all , also warning on the rape and baby killing please.

I liked the story a lot but I didn't care for the first person POV. It felt too stiff and descriptive, not flowing. And didn't like that Lana kept referring to Mason as Blondie even in her thoughts.

Allright

The entire book seemed kinda rushed and unfinished but all in all it wasn't a bad read, would have liked a little more detail.

Gritty wolf shifters romance

Landon is an alpha wolf shifter that was blinded by cruel, rival pack. Lana has run away from her cruel wolf pack. She was found and Omega tasks around the pack house.

Lana know Landon is her mate, however since he can't see her, he doesn't realizes this. Even thought he hasn't shifted for 4 years, when he shifted, he could see. But only in wolf form. Sooner or later her pack will be coming for her.

The unique characters are gritty, strong, and courageous in the face of adversity. The fast paced story is vivid and violent scenics. I like both the strong and courageous characters in the story. I highly recommend this book.
