***I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review***

This is the first book I've read from this author. It kind of straddled the line between PNR and Sci-Fi at least for me. The characters were descriptive, the action fast paced, and the storyline a little bit average. I enjoyed the book as it was well written with not only good strong main characters Jaci and Cav/Cavendish along the supporting cast.

Jaci Perrault is mistakenly associated with Cav the head of security for the Rycroft Group. It turns out that their next door neighbors. A deranged individual after a special "elixir" developed by a pharmaceutical genius named Bradford Rycroft. The elixir when given to an individual they are imbued with "remarkable faculties or RemFac's". Jacis' life is saved by receiving the elixir after she's all but killed by an attack from the deranged individual. Cav feels responsible for the danger Jacis' in but he also has romantic feelings already for her. A fake engagement and wedding is cooked up for the two of them. They hope to help draw out the deranged person to end the threat to Jaci and any further threat to the elixir.

This book was left open-ended to lead into the next book in the series. I enjoyed the story and will be reading the rest of the books. See who has what RemFac and how they work. Will more elixir be made and will the "recipe" for it still be in danger. Will Cav and his teammates be able to remain under the radar and what does the future hold for them.

Is it science or the supernatural? I still can't decide. An elixir that triggers the development of remarkable faculties is at the heart of this new world and keeping it out of the wrong hands has become a large part of Cav's life's work. When he meets Jacie, the connection and chemistry are instant and undeniable. Perhaps it's the early military training, but Cav has such a sense of honor about him in the way he looks after "his people". I love that Jacie is so strong and independent. I also really appreciate that there are other strong women in the ranks of secondary characters. The supporting cast is full of unique personalities that I want to see more of. I probably shouldn't have been surprised by the twist in the ending of this book, but it caught me by surprise. The books stops but it doesn't quite end, there's obviously more to the story to come in the next books of the series. I'm definitely looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

What an interesting premise - mysterious scientist billionaire, secret elixir, and a crazy guy running around the book. The blurb sounded interesting and I was not disappointed. I thought the book well written and entertaining. Easy to read, it made me laugh in a few places. I liked Cav and Jacie's characters, they played off each other well and easy to like. Plus they would end up kissing in the oddest of places and get interrupted in funny ways. The rest of the Rycroft crew were interesting and I cannot wait to see what happens to them in the next books in the series. Like other reviews the story is more romantic suspense bent with magic then straight paranormal but since I like both types I thought a blend of the two to make a good story. My honest review is - Loved the story, made me laugh, and I would totally read the next one.

I was given an ARC and voluntarily choose to review.
I found this gripping, thrilling and exciting. Slightly different to what I normally read which is strictly paranormal. This book is more sci-fi with enhanced humans or REMFACs who have extraordinary abilities. How those abilities came about or how they work is a mystery that might come in future books. I was intrigued from the first and just didn't know where this book would go. It starts out a kind of sweet and slightly funny romance then you get smacked upside the head when the action starts. It is action packed with a slightly different approach to romance woven through. It was a great start to a series and I'm excited to see where it goes. I'm hoping it will go towards a more paranormal story than sci-fi 😉. I'm just a paranormal junky lol

This is a fantastic book to read. There is a somewhat mad genius millionaire, his even crazier son, a full security team and an underground secret lab. Then we have the unsuspecting sexy next door neighbor, a librarian, who accidentally ends up right in the big middle of a killer mess, literally. Jacie, the librarian, is a very strong and smart woman. Cav is the head of security and lives next door to Jacie. Besides being captivating and full of intrigue, Jacie is a hoot. She made me laugh several times. This is exactly the kind of romance I love to read. Major action, funny characters and a story that is cohesive and well thought out. I loved it and highly recommend it to you. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

This book truly is remarkable! This isn't as "paranormal" as the intro would suggest; rather it's remarkably down-to-earth with a scorching hot romance paired with a private security group that is discovering new methods each day. Cav is a true alpha male leader through-and-through, and Jacie is the perfect match for him - sweet and soft in all the right places, yet tough as nails when she needs to be. The other members of the team are just as well written, and their purpose is gradually revealed. This was an exciting book that I just couldn't put down. An amazing book from an author I'm going to be stalking from now on! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Jacie meets Cav when she is trying to move her dryer into her new apartment. Little does she know how her life will change because of that meeting. Cav and his team provides security for a pharmaceutical genius. Needless to say there are all kinds of secrets. When someone tries to use Jacie to get to Cav, things get interesting. I really enjoyed this book and the "world" Ms. Cooper is developing for the series. I did figure one of the "secrets" out before it was revealed. Can't wait to see what's planned for the team next.

Exceptional Paranormal Story
I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book for my honest review. This is my first time reading a book written by Meg Cooper. I liked this book. The characters and the story line are interesting. Cav the hero has just the right amount of dominant protective and loving teddy bear mix. Jacie the heroine is smart independent and trouble likes to find her. Cav is the leader of a band of super abilities special forces team guarding a scientist from a mad man trying to steal a special elixir. Jacie gets involved and all hell breaks loose. There is a cliffhanger. I can’t wait to read the next installment! I recommend this book.

Cav & Jacie ♡
Drama, intrigues, action, and a bit of heat. Cavendish & Jacie start out as new neighbors...then after he saves her from an accident moving a dryer, and an unfortunately shortened first date, things get really interesting. Elixirs, shadowy organizations, and sexy security men, oh my! Cav & Jacie have a twisty path ahead of them...and we get to be along for the ride. A thoroughly fun read!

Jacie is a woman with a spine and a healthy dose of humor – Cav is a guy who needs good dose of humor and a reality check.
This was quite a fun read, love that Jacie is not afraid to say what she means but also do something about it.
I received an ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review, but everything I write is my own opinion.

This is a great read. I really loved Jacie. She is not one to stand down and let others take control over her. She and Cav make for a fun couple. They have great chemistry. There is some surprises and it will keep you guessing. It does end on a cliffhanger so be prepared.

The book is a mix of mundane and extraordinary. Jacie is a normal research librarian until her neighbor Cav brings chaos into her life.

The concept for the book is really interesting and the execution is good, I'd like to see a second book.

The final scene is laugh out loud funny!

I think this book might be classified under paranormal, though I'm not sure. It took me a while to get into the story. The premise is excellent, but I could not really connect with the characters. Jacie just seems to have a bit of a chip on her shoulder and Cav keeps too many secrets.

An enjoyable book .

Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read and reviw her book.

Not sure if Jacie is accident prone or just has bad luck, but she seems to get herself in some interesting predicaments. Her relationship with Cav is hilariously sweet. Loved the twists and turns with Reiner.

This is the first book in the Rycroft Group series. While this is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone though it is open-ended for the next book. There is some violence.

The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that info here. The author managed to describe the main characters and the setting well. The storyline is average. But overall, it was a good read. I enjoyed this book and I'm looking forward to reading more in this series.
