What Is the Orthodox Church? A Brief Overview of Orthodoxy

Rate this book
What is the Orthodox Church?
- An ethnic club for Greeks, Arabs, or Russians?
- The Eastern version of the Roman Catholic Church?
- The result of the Great Apostasy?
- Some peculiar cult of no relevance to Western Christians?

The correct answer is "None of the above." In fact, the Orthodox Church is the Church of the Apostles, alive and well in the world today.

Get a quick overview of the "other" side of church history and learn how the Orthodox Church has survived heresy, schism, and persecution to preserve the Faith of the Apostles intact, from the first century to the twenty-first.

This booklet includes helpful "at-a-glance" timelines, covering the Age of the Apostles, the Age of Persecution, the Age of Councils, the Great Schism, and more.

This 23 page booklet is very informative about the historical, geographical/demographical facts about the Orthodox Christian religion (older than Catholicism and still remains the 2nd largest Christian denomination in the world).

Nikola Tesla was born into an Orthodox Christian family, so I came across this in my research while writing Tesla's Words. If you like studying about different religions and cultures this is a nice, very short booklet to tackle.

Nice short booklet introducing the Orthodox Church through its historical basis. I found it this morning while cleaning my bookcases, re-read it over lunch, and found it to be a refreshing, clear introduction lacking some of the more heavy-handed polemics one may find in typical short tracts/booklets.

We no longer feel we have to look for the newest, hottest Christian book or keep up with the latest, most popular Christian speaker in order to stay spiritually alive.
