A malfunctioning cyborg... All cyborgs come with an expiration date, and from the glitches in his system, Max knows his time will soon be up. When he's forced to flee his position on Nina Station, he joins the crew of the spaceship, Kella, as their resident cyborg and head of security. Time is running short as Max searches for anything that will keep him from going berserk and endangering everyone around him. A reformed pirate... Inrit isn't looking for a mate even though she needs one to survive past thirty. After years of space piracy, she's ready for a clean break and a new life. And the Kella promises to give her that. What she doesn't count on is her smoking hot cyborg roommate with secrets of his own. While Max and Inrit struggle to overcome their differences and save one another, a threat from Inrit's past draws ever closer, putting the entire crew at risk. And it will take a broken cyborg and an ex-criminal to save the day. The denya bond will send them down a dangerous path where they will find redemption... or doom. Cyborg is the fourth book in the Mated to the Alien series about a race of aliens doomed to die if they don't meet their fated mates. The series can be read in any order and there are no cliffhangers! Check out Cyborg for fated mates, steamy alphas, and adventures that are out of this world!
I know this series states you can read the books in any order and enough information is given about the denya bond and the plight of the Detyan people that you can follow along with that. BUT...there are an awful lot of names thrown around in the beginning of the book that made it a tiny bit difficult to follow. (Honestly, maybe that's just me. Sometimes I'm a little spacey.) That said, while you can follow along starting with this book, I do think it would have been slightly more satisfying to start with book 1.
Anyway. Let's talk about Max. He's a cyborg who's glitching. He doesn't have many (or any) friends to lean on and he's unceremoniously tossed off Nina Station when his glitches come to light. Fortunately for him, he ends up on the same ship as Inrit and they make smoldering eyes at one another while trying to do their respective jobs.
The good news is their relationship (such as it is) will save Inrit if they seal the deal. The bad news is Max's glitches are getting worse and that's pretty much a death sentence for cyborgs. The SUPER good news is Inrit is smart and resourceful, in more ways than one.
Dangerous times, a glitching cyborg, and an alien woman doomed to die if she doesn't find her mate by the age of 30. Enjoyable (because I like both aliens and cyborgs), I do wish I had started with book 1 to really appreciate everything that was going on.
My second read by Ms. Rudolph and an easy choice to now 'follow author'. The synopsis surpasses the expected good read. I jumped into the series at book #4 as I was in the mood for 'cyborg' and it read like a stand-alone.
Danger, In A Game Where The Stakes Are High..... Detyen Inrit💋, is a reformed pirate🔫🔪 serving on a commercial spaceship🚀 as an engineer. She keeps to herself, she is one of the last females💋 of her alien breed, and she doesn't trust anyone. Max is a huge, handsome cyborg, he was recently let go from his job as commander of a small space station. He has been having glitches in his hardware or software and blackout periods. He wants to get away before higher up officers want to decommission him. Some people don't think of him as a human with enhancements, they think of him as a robot, not even alive, not a person, with no rights. He joins the crew on the same ship Inrit💋🔫🔪 is on as the head security officer. The captain is one of those that thinks of him as just a robot. He assigns Max🐺🍌🌋🔫🔪 to bunk in Inrit's💋🔫🔪 cabin. When Inrit💋🔪🔫 meets him, she knows in an instant that Max🐺🍌🌋🔫🔪 is her Denya💓, her fated mate!💘 She tries to deny it, she doesn't know what to do, she thinks she doesn't need anyone. Max🐺🍌🌋🔪🔫, with his enhanced perceptions, is aware of the bond💘 instantly, too, and he sets about seducing Inrit💋🔪🔫, because they must have intimate relations to actually seal and form the life long bond💘. Inrit is 27, only 3 years away from dying if she never finds her Denya💓, and she is in denial. She is also trained as a warrior🔫🔪, and is naturally mistrusting. This book is an adventure story in space and at the same time, a forever fierce love 💘story between two outcasts, two unlikely allies and lovers.💓 YEHAW! Ride em Bareback🍌, Cowgirl!🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎
Max is in his element as Security Chief on Nina Station. But lately he has begun to glitch and they are coming more frequently and he is blacking out for longer periods. When Nina herself finds out, Max is retired from his job. He may have money socked away but not enough to get his glitches fixed. He instead signs on as Security on a cargo vessel and sails off into the stars.
Also on the Kella is Inrit (who we met in book 3). She has decided to leave the planet behind and sail as far away from her former pirate life as she can get. She didn't figure on getting Max as a room-mate though! But when the Denya link kicks in she is left lost for words. This time the tables are turned, she has plenty of time but Max is glitching all over the place!
But when Pirates strike can the security chief with memory problems and a former pirate rescue their ship?
Maz is just so lovable! He thinks he's ready for the scrap heap but Inrit sees more to him than a glitchy cyborg. Inrit herself has issues with her self worth due to her criminal past. But my word that woman is like the female McGyver! Giver her a piece of metal and bubblegum and she can save the day! Absolutely loved this latest story!
I received an ARC of this book. This is my voluntary and independent review. Max is a cyborg - mechanically and digitally enhanced, but still mostly human - perfect for being in charge of security for Warlord Nina. Then he starts to experience glitches in his programming, so Nina does what ruthless warlords do - she fires him and throws him out of her territory. He gets a crew berth on an outbound freighter, hoping to find a fix, somewhere, somehow. It's a "Hail Mary" move. Max's berth-mate aboard ship is Inrit, a beautiful bright red Detyan female with a genius for fixing and fabricating, and a deadly secret. She's a former pirate, and if the captain of the freighter finds out, he can arrest her and turn her over for execution. Inrit has another problem: being Detyan, she's got to find her mate, her denya, before age 30 or she's dead. Of course, Max turns out to be THE ONE, Inrit turns her Ms. Fixit skills lose on Max, and it's on. Piracy, love, mutiny, sex, battles, and honor all meld into one fast and crazy thrill ride on the Detyan romance express - with an oddball twist at the end that leaves you screaming, "MORE!!" Since Kate Rudolph's Detyans are the outnumbered underdog heroes of the galaxy, surely she will give us what we crave...
Have to say of the books that I have read in the Mated To The Alien Series, I like Cyborg the best. No cruel crazy doctor and loads of action and not too much angst.
Inrit is one of the few surviving female Detyen’s and she knows that her life may be at an end soon, if she doesn’t find her fated mate.
The cyborg, Max’s system is beginning to glitch and once anyone discovers what’s happening to him, his life span would also cease.
Both are fighters and they are going to do everything in their power to stay alive as long as they can.
They both try resisting the Detyen bond even though it is the only thing that will save them. They don’t want the other to feel an obligation to the bond. Once they get over themselves they find keeping their desires under wraps from the crew is something else they have to worry about.
The angst factor is thankfully minimal, there is a nice build up to them finally getting horizontal. There is some bigotry by the captain and an ugly past that is quickly catching up to Inrit that they have to deal with on the way to their HEA.
The story moves along at a nice pace without too much needless drama.

Inrit is an interesting character and I wondered what would become of her after meeting her in the earlier book in the series. She has had quite an eventful life and needs her need for her mate is strong. Max is a cyborg who has been experiencing issues that make him fear the end is near for him. When they end up on a ship together, it is clear they belong together. They just have to survive all the danger.
I think they make a great couple. Inrit is very intelligent and has a strength of character that has kept her alive during great danger. She is the perfect one for Max. Max offers her all the love and protection she never had. I liked that they did not rush into a relationship even knowing they were mates. They really became friends first.
While it is part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone. I do recommend the other books as they are good stories too.
Max and Inrit's story is well written, compelling, and has a perfect amount of steam. I've not read the other 3 books in this series, but I have read a couple of the Detyen Warriors series. You can read this book as a standalone, The authors do a great job giving you enough backstory to understand the storyline. Max is discharged and thrown off his duty station. As a cyborg with a glitchy system, he is unreliable and dangerous. Inrit is a Detyen and fast approaching her 30 birthday with no mate, so certain death. How these two come together, build a relationship of trust and understanding of each other pasts, and how they maneuver through the dangers thrown at them, Make for a compelling story. The book is well paced, has tons of action, and of course steamy encounters. Well written and an enjoyable read.

Inrit and Max deserved a happy and uneventful life together! by sewsummore
Max was a human cyborg, glitching from damaged implants and in danger of being decommissioned. Inrit was a detyen female, nearing the end of her life unless she found her Denya. An unusual match, but not an impossible one. Inrit had almost given up hope of finding her Denya, the one person who was her perfect mate, ensuring that she would receive the "Denya Gift" and life beyond twenty-eight years. Trained as an engineer and medical doctor, Inrit was able to repair her mate's implants, and her previous experience as a space pirate gave her a chance of redemption when pirates attacked the spaceship they were traveling on. I enjoyed reading this book. The storyline was exciting reading, and the love between Inrit and her mate Max was a joy to explore.

Max and Inuit are destined Denya. Max a cyborg has glitch. It can be instant or stay for a longer period of time. He med checks comes back fine. But there is something wrong. Deadly wrong if it doesn’t get fixed. Inuit is 27 and had 3 years to go before she dies because she is not mated. She has had several careers in her life time. Now she is a reformed pirate back to a engineer for the Ship and instantly thinks that fate is wreaking havoc on her life because her Denya aka Max is in trouble. It’s a race again time To help Max and flying through space to another destination. Each are worried about their life line being cut short. But is it really up to fate or can they manipulate time to keep each other safe. No cliffhanger. Cameo and mention of other character from previous books are mentions as examples of Denya possibilities.

Inrit is now my hero This is a strong story. I enjoyed the plot, and the characters of Max and Inrit were engaging and likeable. I loved the idea of two broken people who are ready to just live out what's left of their lives, accepting their approaching demise, but then can save eachother only to run into deadly battles anyway is twist upon twist upon twist. Inrit is like a genius with a certain set of skills that are both awesome and fearsome, and if the stories from her past were told, THAT would be a wild book to read too. Once the story got started in earnest, like by the third chapter, the book moved steadily. It was difficult to tell who was for or against them and this added to the dramatic tension I enjoyed this story once it got started and will have to go back and find the other books in this series to read, now that i have read this one.
For similar yet different reasons, neither Detyen Inrit nor Cyborg Max are looking towards the future. The next three years, if they are lucky, after all, the good die young, right... and if nothing else, they are good at what they do.
When they meet, in each other, again for, initially different reasons, they see hope, the potential there could be a future, and discover just how precious, fragile, and dangerous hope can be.
Max was introduced two stories ago, Inrit in the previous story, so while this is a solid stand alone story, those previous stories do add a little depth and richness. Not required reading, no cliffhangers, etc., but enjoyable backstory and character moments.

I love this series about Detyens an alien race with a curse on them, unless they find the Denya - their fated mate before they turn thirty, they will die. This is book four of the series and in this book the Detyen is Inrit a female, who briefly appeared in book three as the childhood friend who had a connection with Stoan. Inrit is a reformed space pirate and after years of piracy she is ready for a clean break and a new life so she sign on the ship Kella, which promises to give her just that, but what she doesn't expect is to find her Denya Max. Max is a malfunctioning cyborg, fleeing the space station he signs on the Kella as chief of security. He's searching for anything that will keep him from glitching, but his sexy roommate Inrit as a cure, is the last thing he's expecting.
Since I read the other books in this series, I have heard mention of Max and how he helped others. I had no Idea at the time that he was a cyborg. I really enjoyed this story because you have a security specialist who falls for a pirate, go figure. I love these books because they are set in space and again the hero and heroine have to overcome an obstacle that could lead to their death. I think it is funny that they try so hard not to fall in love but what the heart wants the heart gets. I also like that they do not just jump into the sex but work up to it. I do not like a book that is nonstop sex, one good go at it is good but the build up is great. Another good read by Kate.

Another fantastic, enjoyable book in this collection with a great storyline, with action and adventure and characters to love that become ingrained into you, all combined with some romance. This is Max who we have previously met in other books, and Inrit's, (Stoans childhood friend) story. But other characters who later have books are also seen in this book. What's so great about this series is that each book can be read as a standalone, although there is cross over of some characters, it doesn't matter to much what order or which books you read, you can dip in and out of the series wherever you like. Although obviously you will always have the greatest understanding by reading them in order.
Max is a cyborg on Nina Station. High above the station, his mission is to know everything and to keep the station safe for Nina herself. But he has a secret. His parts are beginning to break down, and he tries to hide his malfunctions (or glitches, as he calls them). He's unsuccessful and is fired.
Inrit has left Stoan and his family assuming that her time will be up before she can see them again. She is a jack-of-all-trades on a freighter who can handle engineering and medical along with many other things. Her captain should value her, however, he sneers at her because she is not human.
These two meet, and it's insta-attraction! Let the fireworks begin!

CYBORG
I really loved this book and Max... how sweet was he. This story was so interesting and entertaining, with a good dose of action and romance. Max and Inrit made such a great couple. Max thinks he days are numbered but when he meets Inrit everything changes. Max offers Inrit something she's never had, love and protection. In return Inrit not only gives him a future he never expected but she also saves his life. An awesome read I just loved it
Fantastic story. Max finds that he has a glitch with a data dump. As he shakes his head things clear up. Inrit, a Detyen female must find her mate before her 30th birthday or she will die. As Max is assigned to Captain Movellan so than is Inrit assigned to engineering, Love the interaction between Max and Inrit as they find they have things in-common. I would recommend reading the whole series as it will keep you entertained and loving the romance. .I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the story of Inrit and Max. He is a cyborg on Nina station there to keep it safe. Only he’s been having glitches lately. He needs to find replacements or fix the parts that are breaking down. Inrit is a Detyan woman and needs to find her mate soon or she will die. So her plan is to keep moving until she dies. Now Max and Inrit are on the same ship and sharing a room. What happens when the sparks fly between these two? I enjoyed the adventure and passion in this story. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a sci-fi romance with an amazing space adventure. Inrit is one of the few females of her race. She will die when she turn thirty unless she can find the one male that is her mate. She is a reformed pirate that just wants to enjoy the last years of her life. That is until she meets one cyborg. Max may be classified as human but he is a cyborg. He’s stronger, smarter and faster now. But his kind are looked down upon. And now a glitch in his system may me his own death. Expect plenty of space drama and fighting as these two try to survive and maybe find love.
Enjoyed reading Max and Inrit's story. Neither is expecting to find their mate when they sign up to work on the mercenary freighter for a short while, but their eyes meet for the first time and BAM. As a Detyen, Inrit knew she was supposed to have a mate somewhere. Most Detyen were finding their denya in the human population, and she didn't meet many humans...or Detyen for that matter. But one look at the human cyborg, Max, and she knew that had changed. Now, they both just had to stay alive long enough to enjoy it.
Max is a hot glitching cyborg he joins the crew as head of security on a spaceship but if he doesn't find a fix soon, he knows he will be a danger to everyone . Inrit is a Detyen and must find a mate before her 30th birthday or die from the curse her people are under. There is danger, drama, and spice. I love the characters this us a fast pasted action packed story. Science fiction romance fans you will lover this one. Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly enjoyed it
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. The book is about a man Max that just wanted to just live but he did not know if he was going to be able. Inrit just wanted to live too with out looking back. Max was having trouble with is other half but did not know what to do about it. Max and Inrit just wanted to make sure they made it together until they can get Max fixed. Now would be time to get the book. I will be getting more from this author.
Enjoyed Max and Inrit’s story. It is well written, entertaining and keeps your attention. Inrit has about three years left to find her mate or die and Max is experiencing glitches in his cyborg implants. At their first meeting Inrit knows Max is her mate and the sexual pull is strong for both of them. The story revolves around their bonding and thrown into the mix is an attack on their ship. The action is fast pace and intriguing. It is an excellent story and worth reading.
I love these stories. They are so intense, full of danger and action. The plots are awesome and the writing is sooo good. It made you feel as if you are in the middle of every thing. The ending leaves something to be desired, it is wide open. I hope we will find out how they are doing in the next one. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
