My name is Ryan and I am a lifelong writer but five time novelist. I am a husband and father of five, living in Ontario, Canada.
I ventured into the publishing world in 2013, but I have always been a story teller at heart. At a young age I discovered my love of the movies and just had this urge to write stories and even produce my own movies with all my little buddies. It was just me and my imagination and a video camera back then.
All of my schooling background reflects creative arts in some way or another. I was accepted into the Visual Arts program in high school, which included sketching, painting and sculpting to name a few mediums. While going to school there, I became involved with the Audio/Visual team, which opened up a whole new medium of storytelling to me. It was the end of the nineties and going into the two-thousands which were spawning whole new technological advancements in amateur video production. Because of the opportunities that opened up in video production I fell more in love with the type of medium and really started to focus my efforts in this field. It was fun! It was exciting! When I sat at the computer to either write my amateur scripts or edit a scene we had just filmed, it was sheer freedom! I could create whatever I wanted, despite what I was used to and what every English or Art teacher told me I couldn’t. English class for me, ironically enough (as an aspiring author), was one of those things that I wanted to like but just couldn’t. In theory, English was everything I wanted but I just found myself being bored. There were too many rules. Too many do’s and don’ts. In terms of storytelling, I always considered myself to be a little more unorthodox than the norm. If an artist can’t break the rules, just a little bit, then what’s the point of art?
DNF. I know it is a symbolic story about the end times, and biblical prophesy, but it is too heavy handed for me. The names of the characters are what did me in, John Revele, Harold Kingston. Guess who they are. I only read 5% of it, so I am not saying it.
I received this book free from Goodreads in exchange for an honest review.
And now "John the Revelator" will be stuck in my head for the rest of the day. A better earworm than "Pumped Up Kicks," but, still...
Gerard writes a action packed novel to help explain the real world, not the imaginary one we all live in. With a deep meaning, The Baptist: Judge’s Genesis shows readers about everything going on in the world we were birthed to; street thugs, mobs, sex trafficking, temptations to evil and the devil, who tries to get us to do his dirty work in life. Judge’s Genesis has great plot, written in retrospect to inform everyone about what happened in each character’s life. John Revele’s life is filled with anger and desperation to fix this broken planet. Clare Mash’s life with filled with worry of the future and for her husband, John, who runs away in order to attempt at fixing the world. Jason Ricther’s life is filled with a passion for inventing time travel, which he later achieves. The invisible battle between The Stranger and Ranston continues as John peruses his search for Richter, while the two pawns are trapped in time.
The Baptist - Judge’s Genesis, by: Ryan David Gerard is a fantastic read. It hooks you right from the start, where you start to learn about John Revele’s (main character) struggle to fight crime as a cop, while keeping within the confines of the law. John’s wife and his partner (Clare & Ridley) know exactly how he feels, as they also fight crime behind the badge of the law. As John continues to try and clean up the streets, another character by the name of Jason Richter is changing the world in a whole other way......time travel! However, this isn’t a second-rate time travel story. The author incorporates god and the devil as men walking among the characters of the book, with a grander plan for the world. This keeps you flipping the pages and wanting to read more. With good and evil at play, the fate of the world at the brink of time-travel, John turns vigilante and takes his fight against crime to the streets for real results. The action, and detail portrayed by the author in this story is astonishing. It transported me right to the streets of Baltimore, beside John fighting crime. I felt I met ‘The Stranger’ just as the characters did in the book, and I can not wait until the second instalment of this trilogy to see how all the plots intersect. I highly recommend this book, great read!
Ryan does an outstanding job of introducing us to the main character, the hero of our story, John Revele, in this the first book of the trilogy. The premise is very interesting and the action scenes are "down and dirty". The idea of time travel and the implications of interfering with the space-time continuum is fascinating. Ryan makes you care about what happens to The Baptist, as we come to know him, as well as his companions and backers that share his journey. You will definitely want to re-enter The Baptist's mixed up, dangerous world with the sequel to answer the question, Can he put it all right again?
I could change the world! 🦄🦄🦄 In the year 2041, the world has become a worse place than we could imagine. So this book covers a lot of sensitive topics and is a very heavy and I found myself taking multiple breaks and shifting between other books just to try and feel comfortable to love on. This is more because we get a lot of information with scenes flashing between times and various important characters to keep track of, it felt like too much to handle. The author's inclusion of time travel does not fit the stereotypical one, but instead has a different approach. Basically, a lot of the elements in this story are common, yet different and that's why I liked it a lot. There's a lot of action and adventure for those who enjoy the genre, however things can get pretty graphic. Majority of the plot was very engaging, but they were instances were I was getting bored or things that could happen in a jiffy felt prolonged, but I did find the overall story complex yet engrossing. There are so many characters that I don't know where to start, who to talk about more so I'm not going to because they were all perfectly done to fit the aesthetic of the book But no matter what happened in the book, nothing prepared me for that ending and for the first time I was happy that a book of this magnitude did not end on a cliché but was different, it may not be a new way for a cliffhanger, but it's definitely one of the lesser used ones that left me in tears after all the chaos that took place. I'm so looking forward to see what happens next in the series. 🦄🦄🦄 Rated 8/10 Melina L.

📘Book Review📘
🌠As this is the first book I have read by this author I was not sure what to expect as you just never know when trying a "new to you" author. But once I completed the read I was quite satisfied about my selection.
🌠Being a book of 503 pages I was completely into it as it was such an interesting one.I completely hooked me up and was a page turner. Completed the entire book in mere 1 week. Really impressed with the writing style of the author.
🌠The title of the book is based on the context and the cover is very attractive. The title is the thing which grabs the attention.
🌠The book has been written in a very simple manner so that everyone can understand it and does not require any special aid.
🌠Judge's Genesis is the first part of the Baptist series.
🌠It is a blend of dystopian and time travel fiction. Story is around two main characters: John Revele ( a cop in Baltimore) and Jason Richter ( a guy determined to invent time travel since young age).
🌠The story switches between different timelines.
🌠This is a kind of story that you have to read with full attention because there is so much about the story and it is not for light reading. With the increasing crime (robbery, domestic violence) John always felt something is wrong with the world.
🌠He don't like the darkness around him and he genuinely want to help people as a cop.
🌠On the other side, Jason was busy in his other world with his invention of time travel.
GRAB YOURS TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!
🌠The satisfaction you get after the final completion of the book is just incredible, sometimes you are really happy with the ending and sometimes you feel it could have been better but when you will complete this your heart is just satisfied.
🌠I am so excitied for the next books of the series! Fingers crossed. Can`t wait...

Do you love reading Science fiction that has time travel in it?
We all have life that is full of pain and horror at one time, glorious and marvel at the other time. Crime and injustice has increased much. So cops are born into the world. Our protagonist cop's name is John Revele. From his shift, the different kinds of calls related to domestic disturbance, a suspect with a knife, robbery and so on... overwhelmed him. He is a good cop that are rare these days. He wanted to save the world actually.
Jason Richter also plays an important role in the story. He was working to invent the time travel. He was even interviewed and was asked questions based on his work and time travel. Jason's dad was proud of him when he realized the true potential of his son.
Narration of the story is smooth and clear. The plot of the story is well built and will hook you. Jason's obsession to invent time travel is my favorite from the story. The language of the book uses rich vocabulary. This book was worth my time and I must say that I enjoyed this story a lot. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Book: The Baptist : Judge's Genesis Author: Ryan David Gerard
I am glad that I picked up this book to read. Judge's Genesis is the first part of the Baptist series. It is a blend of dystopian and time travel fiction. Story is around two main characters: John Revele ( a cop in Baltimore) and Jason Richter ( a guy determined to invent time travel since young age).
The story switches between different timelines. This is a kind of story that you have to read with full attention because there is so much about the story and it is not for light reading. On the other side, Jason was busy in his other world with his invention of time travel.
I find the plot of this story as intriguing and according to my reading interest. Clare pulling out a case file from the box on which 'THE BAPTIST' was written made the story more gripping from that point. It is a nice story. Can't wait to see the return of The Baptist in Part 2: A New Testament.
𝑻𝒊𝒕𝒍𝒆: The Baptist: Judge's Genesis 𝑨𝒖𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒓: Ryan David Gerard
𝑴𝒚 𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘: The Baptist: Judge's Genesis by the author Ryan David Gerald is a dystopian novel. This is the first book in The Baptist series. The story is set in future in different timelines with time traveling involved. The story is about a man John Revele. John always felt that something is wrong with his world. He is a cop in Baltimore. He struggled to fight the crime by staying confined to the laws. There is time travel involved in the story that is why we see change in timelines mostly.
Gang busts, robbery calls, sex trafficking, domestic disputes is much common things that a cop had to deal with. Time travel concept in the book made this story more interesting. Jason Richter character and his invention is amazing.
The story is written well and the plot is intriguing. I binge read it on weekend. The length of the book is much longer and I felt it a little stretched. The story is full action packed and I am much curious to read the second installment in the series.
🔷 BOOK: The Baptist: Judge's Genesis 🔷 AUTHOR: Ryan David Gerard
The Baptist: Judge's Genesis is the first book in the Baptist series. Author of this series is Ryan David Gerard. The hero of our story is John Revele. This dystopian novel is set in 2041. John Revele, a good Baltimore cop want to protect people from injustice but since he was bounded by law, most of the times we find him helpless. Story is full of action packed. The time travel concept introduced in this book is fantastic. The plot of the story is engaging. The character development by the author is great and all the characters has some important role to play. The ending of this story is amazing and it will make you to quickly pick second book in the series. Jason Richter obsession to invent time travel and the way he keeps on working in the basement was great. There are so many elements that will catch your attention. Suitable for dystopian lovers.
(Won this book on GoodReads). To me if felt like two concurrent stories in one. At first I had a hard time understanding the two stories of how they fit together and when I would read about one story I would honestly forget about the other. When I would get to a new chapter it would take me a second to update my memory both main characters had a name starting with the letter R and somewhat close when reading fast. However, the main story of a Cop who is tired of the corruption starts to take things in his own hands at the sake of losing his self and his marriage. The second story of a man who creates a time machine of sorts that had dire consequences when put on display. I am curious to where the next book will go and how the story will progress.
A modern, unique retelling of the world's oldest story-good versus evil with man caught in the middle. An engaging, pre-apocalyptic narrative, with a fierce anti-hero at it's helm. The emotion, drama and spiritual overtones are dynamic and complex, while simplistic enough to be completely riveting. It was impossible to put it down! I'm really looking forward to the sequel!
#Goodreadsgiveaway. It was not a book that I could not put down. Any times had to reread some passages. I got it as a free book from Goodreads and not a type of book that I would normally read. However someone else might like it. The book continues into another book so ethereal is no real conclusion.
