Rate this book
What would drive a hellfire preacher to burn his own church? For Reverend Titus McDougall, life is a torment, a desperate struggle to please a wrathful God. Then in Lucy Norton and a small community of Mormons, Titus sees a slim ray of hope. But is it enough to still the raging fire in his soul, to save himself and the only child left to him from an old but never-forgotten tragedy?

This is a very sad book about a man who was abused by his father when he was a child, became a preacher to make up for his sins, and then lost everything. He eventually found the gospel and forgiveness.

I really enjoyed this book (even though it is typical LDS lit). Very few books surprise me in the last few pages.
