Loved it!

I bought this book on Amazon Kindle, 99p for 5 short stories? Bargain! Each story is unique in its treatment of the supernatural. I particularly liked the first story 'By Any Other Name' with a gender of Shifters I never would have imagined. Each story grabbed my imagination and at the end of each one I wanted more (sign of a good story I'm told). Out of them all 'Belle of the Ball' most felt like a prequel to an amazing series that I couldn't wait to get my hands on with the heroine of the tale, Kerry, finally finding something she can believe in (herself) and he a chance at a new start with people she can call friends, ready to fight evil together wherever it may be! (a cliche I know, but it's my review.) I would recommend this book, I don't know about the series yet but I'm about to get the next book, happy reading!

This is five stories of supernatural beings. Each stands on its own and is a complete story. The only problem I had is that I wanted more. There is some sex and language in each story but didn’t consider them to be a negative. I would read this author again. I don’t want to really go into details as would give spoilers and you can read the blurb about each story to get a feel of what they are about. There was a couple twist that did not expect and they all were enjoyable reads. I was given an ARC from Hidden Gems for an honest review but actually enjoyed them enough and would read them again that I brought the book.

A collection of 5 short stories , a great read for when you have a short amount of time. I read all 5 stories in about 30 minutes. Story #1 By Any Other Name was ok. #2 I Was Asked To Kill him , was really good. #3 Belle Of The Ball , I loved it. #4 Pear Town Ruckus , was good but not my favorite. #5 A Gathering Of Succubi, was my favorite.
Perfect book for the person who gets bored sitting at a doctor's office, or riding in a car. It has very supernatural / paranormal elements, and can be read quickly. If you are like me sometimes you want to read but don't have time for long drawn out novel, this book is perfect for you.

I'm going to "bottom line" this, as the kindle blurb gives a great summary of each of the component stories. This is a great collection that really shows off NR Hairston's talent as a writer, and this is one author who is very talented indeed. Each of these stories has its own distinctive feel but each also, despite short length, manages to give well-rounded characters, full (and very engrossing) plots, and well crafted worlds, all tied up in a bow of excellent writing. Quite an achievement and one that I'm happy to highly recommend.

This is a collection of delightful stories with a supernatural spin. The first tale was about a skunk hybrid who works in law enforcement. Talk about suspending disbelief. I think each story is better than the last and they were all very enjoyable. But my favorite is Belle of the Ball. Down and out Kerry who made the mistake of befriending the wrong person. Let me just say, this book is a great way to escape into a surreal world.

Fast and fun

Really enjoyed every book in this set. Well written with interesting and strong characters, great pace and detail. Each tale is A comp!are story although open ended enough for the story to continue. A few more authors to add to add to my list...and another set\group to keep an eye out for more.

Supernatural Stories

This is a series of five different stories of supernatural beings. The trouble they encounter, the dangers they face and the camaraderie they share. Each story is action packed, but also has friendship and love.

An interesting group of stories. I enjoyed them all except , Belle of The Ball, which I thought was totally lacking in depth and the main character was whiney.

The first story was the most interesting, with a skunk hybrid. None of the stories were really "great" but they were decent reads.

So, five short stories about different aspects of urban fantasy. Fantastic. I don’t know what more I can say about it apart from I cannot wait for the next one. Highly recommended.
