Bear Bad Boy

This is the title story in a two story anthology. The first is nearly 600 locations, but the author has come up with an interesting story within this limited number of pages. I really enjoy reading M/M Bear shifter romances. So I approached this story with an open mind despite a negative review.

This was definitely an erotic romance. The author focused on the sexual attraction between the characters. There also seemed to be an emphasis on conquering and domination by tough, strong, powerful men / Bears. In this society it is forbidden for Omegas to get together. That doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Also this society has the expectation of virginity when a powerful Alpha finally claims his Omega.

The Bear shifters live among Humans, but are members of different clans. Clans that are not always friendly with one another. This is compounded when a gang of Bear Marauders steal from the various clans. The main players are not your typical Alpha and Omegas. No distinction is made as to whether the other people, for example, the office workers at the Alpha's company are Humans or Bears.

It is in the office where the reader is introduced to the figurative and literal Bear shifter, Kincaid. From the offset he was not an endearing figure. A total jerk and Bully in my estimation. His acquaintance from the past is only marginally more likable. He was a deceiver and a liar by omission. The Alpha is the nicest guy "Bear" of the bunch, but maybe too nice considering the circumstances. Though he can be fierce and ruthless when confronted by an enemy. Personally I consider the fox in the hen house an "enemy".

This turns out not only to be a mpreg story, but also a M/M & M/M/M. Others may find it more appealing, but I can say I've enjoyed much better. Yet I am not ready to give up on this author.
