It sounds wrong to say I "enjoyed" this book since the story revolves around a family's grief, so I'll just say that this was such a beautiful read. Mo poured her heart onto the pages, and while yours will ache, reading the most raw, gut-wrenching experiences of a mother's loss, you'll also smile and perhaps even chuckle reading about travel mishaps we've all had.
Mo is a writer, but based on her descriptions, I would also call her a painter. The imagery of all the places she has travelled to ... I felt like I was right there with her (and I now have a list of Want To Visit places!).
Grief. Exploration (of place *and* of self). Motherhood. All themes Mo doesn't shy away from in her memoir.
I highly recommend this book, and I look forward to more works from the author.
