The wild and funny first novel in the Star Ascension series.
Really, he considers it a fantastic day when he finds a ripe avocado at the supermarket.
Mmmm…guacamole.
In a previous career, Jeremy Michelson worked at a small town weekly newspaper. It was his privilege to report on the odd, the unusual, and the occasionally terrifying aspects of life in a rural area.
These days Jeremy lives in a much larger city in the Pacific Northwest. In his spare time he enjoys hiking (the Pacific Northwest has an abundance of beautiful places to hike) and taking photos of nature.
Waterfalls, snowcapped mountains, and trees feature prominently in his photos. Flowers, birds, and criminally adorable chipmunks are also favorite subjects.
Jeremy is the author of the Star Ascension science fiction series, a star spanning tale of humankind’s very bumpy journey from Earth to becoming members of a galactic community of alien races.
He also writes the New Bedlam / Unseen World adventures. An contemporary fantasy collection of novels and stories about a familiar world changed by cataclysm, bordered by a hidden world filled with powerful and unsettling creatures.
Well…he writes these tales when one of the family’s cats aren’t taking a nap on his keyboard. Come on, cat, I got words to wr–

Fun way to spend a few hours. Knowing some of the land being described was like old home week covering Albuquerque down to White Sands and going up to Cloud drift and visiting the Sunspot solar observatory (I heard rumors it was shut down, I hope not).
This sci-fi book is utterly ridiculous in all the best ways. It really was like reading a Douglas Adams book. Even the scary parts had funny stuck in them - enough to make me laugh out loud on several occasions (and even snort once). I loved the characters and the descriptions of them. The world building was excellent, too; lots of descriptors, but not so much that you get taken out of the story. Read this if you want a light-hearted tale that will make you laugh and forget about life for awhile.
This is a snarky adventure of aliens and space battles and betrayal. A hapless tech gets caught up in a plot to destroy the world by the supposedly friendly aliens who made first contact. It’s got some strong language (e.g. one of the characters can’t speak without cussing), but the tone is light and sarcastic, not dark and grim.
This was a very good story. If it was not for the grammatical errors, I may have given it 5 stars. Editing is a must in this situation. The transitions are very good. The story lines flows relatively even and the characters are relatable. Keep up the good work. I would read more from this author.
This is a fast paced, humorous, seat of your pants ride, with plenty of twists and turns, double & triple agents, aliens both good bad ones and bad good ones and just plain bad ones.
What a bumbler.lots of miscalculation s but it turns out so good! I'm reading the next book to find out if its just as fun. This isn't my usual genre but we all need breaks sometimes!
I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I can attest to the power of Hatch Green Chile. This book was a fun read. Great Escapist literature. Parts of it had me laughing out loud. And that was all I could ask of a book.
Entertaining book. Enjoyed the content, however more typos, missing or misplaced words than I could count. This became very distracting. I would suggest that it be reviewed for these errors because it was a fun read.
Ok book to read but boring the main character does stupid things over and over kinda gets old ..almost finished this book but was not interested to finish
