“Don’t look into her eyes. If you do, she’ll take your soul.”

Werewolf Griffin Romeo has new prey—a sexy female vamp named Isabella has been hunting in Sin City, and it’s Griffin’s job to stop her. Tracking Isabella is easy work for an alpha wolf, but once he gets close to gorgeous Isabella…Griffin’s careful plans go straight to hell. Because with one bite, he’s absolutely hooked on her, lost…mated.

Vamps and werewolves are supposed to be sworn enemies. They aren’t supposed to feel a white-hot attraction that burns soul deep. Now that he’s found his mate, Griffin isn’t about to let Isabella go, especially not when he learns that Isabella isn’t the killer who is attacking humans in Vegas. Griffin’s mate has been set-up, and he’ll fight with a wolf’s fury to find the enemy who is working against them both. Someone wants Isabella to be judged guilty by the wolves in Vegas, but Griffin won’t let that happen.

Their mating may be forbidden, but Griffin and Isabella are about to show the paranormal world just how fiercely a vamp and werewolf can fight for each other—because mates bond forever. And nothing will come between them.

Author’s FORBIDDEN BITE is a short, sexy story (32,000 words) about one hot werewolf and his sexy vamp mate. Lust comes first (and fast!) in this tale, and then love is close behind. If you enjoy a hero who will gladly sacrifice everything for his lady, hot times, and a happy ending…then maybe you should take a BITE.

5 Griffin ⭐️!!!

Can this novella be more perfect.? And I'm so in love with it..
It's no secret that I absolutely LOVE Cynthia's books and I'm happy to say that I can add this book to that list.
The hero in this book was perfect, he was very protective of the heroine even when he knew that it was forbidden to have a vampire for a mate.
Here's some quotes from the hero..

“I was told…it was wrong. Taboo. It’s not.” He turned his head.
His glowing eyes met hers. “We’re not. I’ll fight anyone who challenges my right to you.”
“You were meant to be mine. I was meant to be yours."

“Some things in this world are magic. I happen to think I’m staring at something pretty fucking magical”

“She’s mine. And I’ll do anything to keep her.”

“I love her. She’s in me, and I am in her."

“I love you,” he said again. “And I will love you forever”

“Nothing about us is forbidden. Do you hear me? We are meant to be. I was born to be yours, and you were born to be mine, sweetheart”

*sigh* this hero had me swooning the whole novella. And I can't complain about the heroine, she was also a good heroine she was protective of her mate but the one who stole my heart was the hero, he was everything. My only complaint is I wanted it to be longer.. 😢

4 - "For me... you're it." Stars!

Cynthia Eden starts off her new Bite series as expected, with surprises, suspense, passion and plenty of sexy-times.

Griffin and Isabella’s story was all about the insta! but the story worked because of it. Once a Werewolf meets his mate, it’s for life and Griffin made sure Isabella was aware of that very quickly.

"I never asked to be what I am…"

"I rather like what you are."

But Vampires and Werewolves aren’t supposed to be mates, and that in itself causes all sorts of problems for our pair, on top of the fact they are being pursued by a villain whose intentions are not what they initially assumed them to be.

"You fit me."

This was a quick and enjoyable read, having hit a major book slump this week, I knew reading something by this author would pull me back, and it did exactly what I wanted it to. So much so that I went straight onto the second book Mating Bite straight after finishing this one.

Isabella was warned as a child to be careful of werewolves, they would gobble you up. Griffin had been warned to not look into her eyes or she’d steal his soul. However, once these two meet and share a lifesaving bite that they had been told was completely taboo, they learned that there was nothing forbidden between the two of them.

This was an excellent shifter vampire novella that kept me enthralled with its mystery laden tale. I absolutely loved Griffin with his over the top protective instincts. Once he’s mated to Isabella there is nothing and no one that will take him from her. He was the perfect alpha hero for me and Ms. Eden checked all of my boxes for what I look for in a main male character. Despite Isabella having had some horrific life experiences, she made changes that showcased her inner strength. Together there is nothing, not even death that will keep them apart.

Awesome read full of plenty of action, secondary characters that I hope might get their own story, and plenty of steam.

I received an advance reader copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.

This authors paranormal stories never fail to entertain me and this Werewolf/ Vampire pairing is no different. It might start out with Griffin on a mission to take down the deadly woman killing Werewolves but very quickly he sees a different side to Isabella. Isabella is a rare Vampire, born and not made. It's always been taboo for the two species to intermingle but with one bite Griffin sets in motion the Mating bond. Now that's not going to go down well with his Pack but more to the point Isabella has been set up with an enemy creeping ever closer!
Oo I do love a passionate male and that's exactly what the growling, teeth baring Griffin is. It's completely over the top but such fun. Plus with all his Pack troubles Griffin has to step up which really changes the dynamics. As for Isabella she sees a man of worth when she looks at Griffin and she isn't about to let anyone take him away from her. Yes it's quite short compared to some books but it's steamy, shows that with love anything is possible and with a truly insane bad guy totally engaging. This story definitely perked up my afternoon!

I’ve read over a dozen Cynthia Eden books over the years, but it has been a few years since I last read one of her books. So when I saw she had a new series available through Kindle Unlimited, I thought it was a good time to re-introduce myself to her work.

FORBIDDEN BITE was a quick and enjoyable read, and I’ve already got the second book sitting on my Kindle. I liked that the reason behind why werewolves and vampires are enemies was explained quickly yet thoroughly. I think the only thing that disappointed me was that Isabella had a truly interesting past that wasn’t delved into at all. Griffin and Isabella were very likeable characters and they made a powerful couple, even though their first meeting didn’t go well.

“You wanted to kill me tonight. You had a stake.”
True. “So we didn’t have the most romantic start.”

FORBIDDEN BITE is told mostly in dual POVs, but is also told in the POV of other characters. It’s the first book in a new series, and while I assume each book can be read as a stand-alone, I think readers will get more enjoyment—and understanding of the series’ world—if they read every book in order.

I wish there was more to the romance building but I guess this is more due to the genre of paranormal rom-suspense. I loved the H/h pairing. They are well matched

Griffin, a PI, accepts a new job, though he seriously has his doubts regarding the validity of some of his client's claims. The client, Felix, fully believes a woman named Isabella is a killer, and can entrap men with just a look. Griffin locates, and follows, Isabella for three nights, not seeing any signs of her murderous rampage. But, when she appears to be in danger, he doesn't hesitate to step in to rescue her...of which he quickly sees she can definitely handle herself.

"Don't look into her eyes. If you do, she'll take your soul." - Felix

Isabella is desperate to attack the man holding a knife to her face. Haha. No. She can only keep up the helpless act for so long. She quickly disarms, not literally, him and prepares to enjoy her reward. However, right as she's about to strike, you've figured out she's a vampire by now, right?, she hears a sexy voice that belongs to an equally sexy man, one that was prepared to save her.

Griffin shakes off her compulsion to forget her, and the way her everything impacts him, and let's her know, with a stake aimed at her heart, how serious he is, right before flashing his own fangs. Her fear surprises him as it seems real. When he stops the man intending to attack her, things quickly become dire for Griffin as he's stabbed with the man's Plan B, and it happens to be a silver knife. Yeah, Griffin is a werewolf, and though he is very quickly dying, he knows he can't accept Isabella's life-saving blood. It's forbidden.

"But his entire focus--even as his beast clawed for his freedom--his entire focus was on the sexy little vampire before him. The woman who'd just sealed both of their fates." - Griffin

Isabella can't believe she just met, and saved, a werewolf. She'd always been told to stay away from them, and now one had bitten her wrist and drank her blood until she'd had to force him to stop. As if that wasn't enough to make her want to leave Vegas forever, she's now being held at gunpoint in her hotel room. But he doesn't want to kill her. He has other plans...for her kind.

Griffin, having recovered and shifted to human again, tracks down Isabella, only to learn she's been injured. When he finds her again, intent on taking her with him, he stops another attack on her. Isabella is his, she just hasn't accepted it yet.

"I was told...it was wrong. Taboo. It's not. We're not. I'll fight anyone who challenges my right to you." - Griffin

Griffin knows their mating is forbidden, but it's done and no one will take her from him, and many will try. Vampires and werewolves alike will revolt against their union. Well, they will try.

But their respective kinds aren't the only obstacles they'll have to fight. It seems fate wasn't the only thing ensuring they would meet.

What happens when a vampire and a werewolf, forbidden to mate, do so anyway? How will their people react? Why is finding Isabella so important to Felix? What are his motives for involving Griffin? Will Griffin and Isabella survive? Is this just the beginning over their very long lives together? Or will their mating end before it ever truly got a chance to start?

One-click now and follow along as two people, their kinds sworn enemies, defy the rules and fall deeply in love. I hope this book is the start of a new series and the next one features Carter, Griffin's packmate and friend.

Ah, Cynthia Eden books are a breath of fresh air when I get into a funk or read a bad, dumb, or rage inducing read. I can always count on her to calm me down and make me feel better after a read.

Cynthia is one of my favorite paranormal authors. She has quite the back list out there of PNR that I still need to read. I'll take them slowly so I have something to fall back on when I get a book that annoys me.

This was a cute and quick read between a vampire and a werewolf. They were fated mates but I like the way it was described: ♥“Everything we feel is real. The mating link was nature’s way of showing us instantly what it would take our hearts much longer to see on their own.”

Very protective and possessive hero which is my fave.

Recommend!

Quotes & Faves:

Her blood was in him. She was in him. Did she realize…there was now no escape for her? Wherever she went, he’d find her. Always.

“I was told…it was wrong. Taboo. It’s not.” He turned his head. His glowing eyes met hers. “We’re not. I’ll fight anyone who challenges my right to you.”

“I won’t let them hurt you.” His voice deepened as he stared down at her. Her sweet scent filled his lungs. “I will fucking destroy anyone who tries to hurt you. Our lives are entwined now. There is no going back.”

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!
***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I received a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!

The cover is wow!! I love it a lot!

This is the first book in the Bite series! It is for adults only due to the steamy content. The book is about 196 pages long.

This is a mixed paranormal world which I really like. Werewolves and Vampires with a history that is very interesting. I couldn’t put the book down once I started it. I loved all the action in the book. The relationship between Griffin and Isabella is full of tension as they both try to hold back especially Isabella. There were definitely some surprises that I didn’t see coming.

Cynthia Eden creates a complex paranormal world, and keeps it exciting and mysterious as she goes. I need to read more because who her books are always awesome to read.

I highly recommend to any paranormal fans of werewolves and vampires especially if you love Cynthia’s work!

Well, this was a quick glimpse into what is shaping up to be a vicious world where werewolves and vampires are mortal enemies forbidden to ever interact much less mate. Forbidden Bite was chaotic and violent, but also sexy as hell.

This was short but at first glance, it seems that vampires have seriously devolved into blood crazed killers who think of humans as beneath them. Werewolves hate them so much they kill them on at first sight, which is what should have happened when Griffin was sent after Isabella. Except a werewolf can’t kill his mate, especially one who it is apparent isn’t your normal everyday vampire that kills indiscriminately due to blood lust. What happens next is total chaos.
“I’m not the fucking white knight of the story. I’m not the law. I’m the beast.”

Neither Griffin nor Isabella are saints in their pasts, but you get the sense that in this world being a supernatural is a brutal undertaking and you have to do bad things to survive. Isabella seems to want to rise above what her kind have become and that has cost her dearly.
“I know about the dark.” His voice was a growl. “And I know that when I’m near you, it will never touch you again.”

We don’t get to know a lot about Griffin’s pack, other than I don’t think it’s a particularly warm and fuzzy one. More like the strong rule and the rest cower. It’s good he’s one of the strongest because when he bit into the forbidden little apple his pack, especially the alpha, did not take that well at all. To add to it, it’s not just the pack that he has to fight to keep his mate alive. There are other even more sinister things in play and danger is everywhere.

The jury is still out on whether I’m going to like this particular world Ms. Eden has built. Carter is up next, which is good, because so far, other than Griffin, he’s the only wolf in that pack of thugs I liked. Forbidden Bite was a short, brutal and sexy all at the same time. I’m intrigued enough to be glad I have the next book in my TBR pile.

Review posted on Got Fiction?

This is what I needed! I love when Cynthia Eden writes paranormals. They’re always so good!

Isabella is a vampire who is trying to find her place in the world. She may be over 200 years old, but she’s finally left her “family” because she doesn’t like to kill when she drinks.

Griffin is a PI who was hired to follow Isabella and get proof that she is killing men. Oh, he’s also a werewolf. And werewolves don’t get along well with vampires.

But when he sees Isabella for the first time, he can’t bring himself to stake her. She’s something else. And when he’s shot trying to save her, she gives him her blood to heal him, not knowing what she’s done.

What she’s done has shown what Griff thought-she’s his mate. But since his pack considers her their sworn enemy, they have more obstacles to overcome than just being fated mates. His alpha doesn’t want her to live, let alone be the mate to Griff, even Griff’s best friend is against their mating.

But you know he won’t give her up. And of course, that’s not the only thing going on in the book. Meanwhile there’s a madman who’s been stalking her…but not for the reasons you think.

In typical Cynthia Eden fashion, there are plenty of twists and turns in the plot, and hopefully a side character or two who can get a book down the line.

If you’ve been following this blog for a while now, it’s no secret I love Cynthia Eden, but I will say her Paranormal Romances are my favorites. She seriously writes the best PNR with Romantic Suspense that I’ve ever read. I hope you guys grab this one.

*ARC*

After reading a shifter book that I did not enjoy right before I started Forbidden Bite I was hoping I wasn’t losing my love of some of my favorite paranormal romance tropes, shifters. Thank the book gods because Forbidden Bite completely caught my intention from the very start. Now this is a fairly short read but it does not lack in chemistry, plot development or character development, it nailed all three.

This reminds me of a favorite movie series of mine where a relationship between vampires and werewolves were forbidden. But you can’t help it if the universe decides your mate is your immortal enemy right? Griffin, a werewolf and Isabella a vampire are sworn enemies, the races do not get along but when the mating bond begins you can feel the chemistry between these too burning your skin it is that hot and intense. There is action, a bit of suspense and truths come out about the history of their species and the parts they played in the other’s lives.

This was a really great start to a series that I have a feeling is quickly going to become a favorite of mine and I can’t wait for the next book to release. If you are a paranormal romance fan add Forbidden Bite to your TBR lists I think you will really enjoy it.

Ah, the classic werewolf-vampire love story. Bit cliched and melodramatic at times, but I usually enjoy Eden’s stuff. I just wish it were LONGER, jeez.

Wow wow wow!

I loved this! It kind if revisists some of the earlier situations between werewolves and vampires (being enemies and all), but it's very different. I loved the book and characters. Cannot wait for another book!

I love Cynthia Eden's books. They do seem to be the same/similar. Paranormal beasties fall for each other while running from other big bads that want to hurt or experiment on them. But, damn if the characters don't suck you in and it's always a helluva ride.

A short read. The plot is okay. The main characters have no chemistry though. I picked this because I loved Cynthia Eden’s Bound series and I hope this series could be the same. I love reading romance and love match between werewolf and vampire.
