Rate this book
A darkly hilarious look into the apocalypse… and us.

Bill is a small fish in the big ocean that is Orange County California. He just can’t reach the top, and he just can’t let that fact go. He’s miserable and miserably bored.

But when a series of natural and man-induced calamities brings the apocalypse into high gear, Bill’s life finally gets interesting. He’s a lone wolf in a crazy new world and he’s loving it.

That is, until he becomes the reluctant leader of a band of misfit survivors who are putting a damper on his newfound coolness. With any luck, they’ll make it to his mom’s in NorCal without getting shot.

Matt Orlando is a screenwriter, director, and producer who lives in Orange County, California. After failing in the corporate world and then sucking as an MMA fight trainer for at least ten years, he put his hand to writing. At least nobody was getting hurt. Yet...

His first film, "A Resurrection" was theatrically released in 2013.

Matt's first book, Truncated: Apocalyptic and Loving It! is a humorous war and survival series starring above average catastrophe and pandemic survivor, Bill. All is ordinary with Bill's life until a series of man-made and nature induced calamities brings the apocalypse right to Bill’s doorstep.

Matt's second book, Westgate: A Nick Marino Mystery. With the help of his two older out-of-shape wannabe cop security guard coworkers, Nick navigates the dangerous world of the outrageously rich and powerful residents of Westgate, whose sexual proclivities challenge even Nick’s ideas about deviance. It's got mystery, sex, thrills, spills, murder, surf, action, and sex!

Matt's third book is Migrant.

When Salinas PD detective Mike is called to investigate the murder of a gang member whose body was found with its throat slit in a field owned by a rich, powerful, and estranged grandfather, he is sent on a path that plunges his perfect life into turmoil. Immediately, the gang retaliations escalate and the city feels the pain of wounds that still hadn’t healed.

As real as it gets

I love PA books , movies, scenarios and as crazy as some of these situations seem I can totally see alot of this happening. People truly are at times the earth & each other's worst enemies when it comes down to it...makes you cheer on such characters as Bill for holding on to the goodness within. Even if the character himself doesn't realize it....

A fantastic humorous and enlightened story of mankind during an apocalypse!

I have NEVER laughed so much in such a serious story! What a great find! This story includes the average, or just above average, thoughts of human beings in such a situation! A great story mixed with real life!

Anyone that reads this story will be happy that they got it! A close encounter of the human mind! And Bill is the Yoda of the story.

Over the top ten stars!!!!

Very different

Slightly above average turns out to have some important survival skills after all. But the low key character description of the main persons is so refreshing we can overlook the few inconsistencies. Well written. I will definitely read the next book.
